After seeing the price on amazon I found it on sale elsewhere for $550. The laptop is stylish and gets the job done with its core i5-480M(2.66GHz-2.93GHz) processor. Its a dual core with 4 threads. Lightning fast notebook with lots of headroom to do more. The Intel HD graphics do not disappoint.This laptop comes with Bluetooth 3.0 which is something I personally haven't seen much of. This laptop never seems to slow down and you can control the laptop's mode. By this i mean you can put it in a quiet mote to limit speed and heat, it comes in normal mode where it idles up and down when needed, a speed boost mode that blazes through any task whether the speed is needed or not for pure power, and a fast boot mode where notebook configures itself to boot as fast as possible. With this model the programs most would call bloatware actually serve a purpose that enhance the laptop and are 'NOT JUNK'. P.S. i did remove all the games as for whatever reason a game console starts up in the background. There is a powered usb port that can be turned on or off so you can charge usb devices while the laptop is off which is a major plus. DVD player works fine and give no problems.
A major plus that this laptop has over most other is that it has intake vents on the front instead of underneath which keeps the laptop very cool as these vents do not get blocked during use on any surface.
The laptop is great at virtualization (vmware/vmplayer) fast and smooth.
My only issues with it are
1. the speakers which are 'mono', which while good quality most would prefer louder stereo speakers
2. the batteries last about 3 1/2 hours, wanted a bit more, but considering a payed $550 when the list price at amazon was $799 i don't feel bad.
3. the webcam is only 0.3MP, which sucks in my personal opinion but its way better than having nothing at all. would have preferred a 2.0MP cam
Overall best laptop I've ever had, super fast and does not disappoint.
PS
I've had the laptop for over a month now and have found out how to get more than 5-1/2 hours of battery life out of it. Once you put it in low power mode, you have to do a bit of tweaking to the settings and when done the laptop remembers all settings made in that mode. Once settings are tweaked and wifi is off i got 5 hours 34 mins from 98% battery. Sweet i know
