Great laptop, only issue is that finding tech support for it is difficult. I love the screen, sound, operating system...just about everything...however, my Wi-Fi is really weak and I can't find any tech support to help me out. The laptop has all these great scans they can run to tell me my Wi-Fi is messed up, but no solutions. Frustrating.Best Deals for HP ENVY dv6 7246us 15.6" Laptop - 3rd Gen. i5-3210M, 6GB DDR3
Let me state up front that I purchased this laptop a few weeks back when "Quick N' Easy Buy" was selling it. I see another 3rd party seller is listed for Amazon now, but that could change back at any time it appears and buyers should be made aware of who they are purchasing from as well. This laptop came defective with a monitor that at times went blank before momentarily returning. The touch pad did not respond to my satisfaction even when I adjusted the speed, but a mouse would have fixed that. I realize that this can happen to any piece of electronic gear right out of the box, but who wants to take a chance that there are bigger problems with it yet to surface? This is why I rate the unit 3 stars that otherwise worked as advertised, nothing more.I chose to return the unit with all intentions of just exchanging for the same laptop, at least until I read "Quick N' Easy Buy's" first response! To sum up its first response, "call HP and see if they can repair it over the phone". Seriously? I responded that this was not acceptable and I would just like to return the unit. Seller "Quick N' Easy Buy's" response was to return the unit and they would determine if the unit was indeed "defective". If it was truly defective, they would refund my money including return shipping, if not, as determined by the "shipping department", yes, the "shipping department", they would assess up to a 50% restocking fee. Restock a defective unit?
I expressed my concern and asked if the "shipping department" employed HP certified technicians who could truly determine if the machine had issues, which I know it did I saw them! "Quick N' Easy Buy's" response was basically the same the next couple of exchanges, so I contacted Amazon and filed a claim under its "A to Z Guarantee" program which I assume, protects the buyer from 3rd part sellers that choose to take this path.
"Quick N' Easy Buy" DOES NOT abide by Amazon's 30 day return policy which per the several different Amazon customer service reps I contacted means, return with full refund for defect or just dissatisfaction. I gave this seller every opportunity to do the right thing and refund my money without condition, but they refuse. Even after receiving the defective unit, "Quick N' Easy Buy" told me they would "inspect the unit over the NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS and get back to me"!!
I will be returning to update this review as the Amazon's "A to Z" guarantee process kicks in, 5 days after the unit is returned to the seller or approximately Friday the 20th of September. Amazon has never let me down yet, so I expect a positive outcome from this claim. I still need a laptop with similar specs, but am reluctant to trust another 3rd party purchase until I see how this one pans out.
