The graphics setup is pretty slick the machine has both Intel HD onboard graphics and the Nvidia GPU and is able to toggle seamlessly between the two depending on the demands of the application being run. For normal desktop stuff, it uses the Intel. For games, it uses the Nvidia. You can change the default either globally or by application, but it seems to work so well I've been reluctant to mess with it. Every game I've installed so far has automatically set itself to use the Nvidia.
It did take a bit of work to "de-crapify" after initial startup. Like most OEM machines, it was loaded with all sorts of garbage programs including a 60-day trial version of Trend Micro's almost useless Internet security suite. I promptly dumped it and replaced it with Microsoft's Security Essentials, which does as good a job as many commercial projects and costs absolutely nothing but the time to download it from Microsoft's site.
It probably took a half-dozen or so reboots to remove all the garbage, including some ASUS "Cloud drive" icon in Explorer. But once finished, and after a quick defrag, it really kicks some major rump. I love it I've finally got a laptop that truly qualifies as a "desktop replacement" and am looking forward to finally getting rid of those big ugly black cases. Woohoo!
Nice design, well-built with aluminum casing that stands up well to normal use. The touchpad's a little tricky, since it will let you do all this multiple-finger stuff like an iPad. Good battery life looks like it will give a good four hours of normal (i.e. non-strenuous) use on a charge, not bad at all for a machine with a larger screen. The 1366x768 resolution is okay for the 15.6" screen, if nothing to write home about. Great I/O USB 3.0, HDMI, VGA. Only thing it's really missing is Bluetooth, which is easily added with an inexpensive USB dongle when needed.
All in all, the nicest machine I've ever owned, desktop or laptop. If it holds up over time, this may be my first ASUS machine, but it won't be my last.

Got this for about 630...so far it has been great. This laptop looks sleek! Ergo Keyboard that is awesome to work with, although the trackpad isn't top notch....but good to have a mouse anyway, the Logitech M305 is awesome!i7 is def a beast, you can pretty much throw whatever at it and it just keeps on churning...Could have come with a better graphics card but for this price, this is a great work horse.
