Mine came with Windows 8 and just go on the forums and they will tell you that the first thing you do is uninstall/disable the Asus live update utility as it messes up some of the drivers. here's a link on what to do with your laptop when you get it.Pro's: 3GB NVidia Geforce GTX 670M GDDR5 Graphics Card

The only Con I can think of is that to make this laptop shine, it needs a SSD Hard Drive. There's a more expensive model that has an SSD HD. But for $1,399 this laptop already comes with amazing hardware. Since (afaik) this laptop has only one HDD and has room for two HDD bays,I would highly recommend installing an SSD HD in the 2nd Drive Bay, its worth it. Plenty of help on the forums on how to do that.
Another thing, my laptop came with 2 partitions, the OS C: was 300GB and (Data) D: was 400GB. I have a USB 3.0 external drive for storage so I might end up re-sizing the C: drive.
On a side note I bought an Ibex 17 Inch Notebook Backpack and this laptop WILL NOT fit. You have to buy a bigger laptop backpack because of the fans in the back.

Nice laptop. Came nicely protected packaging with no issues from shipping. Booted up no problem. Two major issues though.. 1) Windows 8 Pre-Installed. What a piece of crap OS. Has a lot of issues even above the GUI crap. Compatibility with a LOT of software is a major problem but that is not the machines fault.2) The unit does NOT come with a recovery disc nor is there any way to create a dvd recovery disc! Between that and the confusing Windows 8 crap, it can be frustrating to get up and running if you want something right away.
BUT Hardware wise, the system is awesome. Very solid unit. Very quiet and extremely fast!! Plays Skyrim and other high end games as good as my primary game system.

Laptop booted once then died. When I tried to turn it back on the keyboard backlight would come on but nothing on the display. Laptop would not boot, no POST, no access to BIOS, nothing!Honest reviews on ASUS G75VW 17.3" Core i7 750GB Gaming Notebook
Great computer, but I'm having extreme difficulties swapping out the HDD for an SSD. Apparently this can't be done with Windows 8 because Asus is not providing a Windows disk and you can't clean install Windows 8 using the recovery disk you burn once you get your laptop. I've read a few reviews of how "easy" the HDD to SSD swap was. But I'm wondering, for the people who have actually done this (with Windows 8, not 7), how exactly did you do it?Update:
I eventually gave up trying to swap the drives on my own. I brought my Asus to a local computer shop and they even had some difficulty getting the SSD set up. I would have preferred a clean install of Windows 8, but that is not possible unless you purchase a new copy of Windows. So, the tech cloned the HDD to the SSD and reconfigured everything to optimize it. Even then, it wasn't as easy as plugging in a connection cable and cloning (which it should be). It required some odd workaround that I didn't quite understand. With all that said, in the end everything worked out and the computer is up and running. Just WAY too many roadblocks in order to install an SSD. It should have been a simple 1-2 hour process.
