For one thing, I did not expect it to come preloaded with all that gunk that nonprofessional-market notebooks have. After all, I am paying a premium up-front, right? But this came with Microsoft Office Starter 2010 "preloaded" and installing Office 2007 on top of it was such a horrible, miserable experience, and a terrible time waster. Ditto for the Lenovo's "valuable" add-on stuff where "notices" really mean sales&marketing. What a bunch of garbage!
The charging indicator does not work most of the times. It works after reboot, and then dies off. This is bad.
The wireless turns off every now and then. No clue why.
The power cord is oh-so-short! And the AC adapter gets hotter than McDonald's Coffee! Hardly the place to cut costs if you asked me. I mean, you could be at a cafe and can't use this stupid computer because the cord is not long enough!!!!
The CD player turns off automatically. Nice. To reactivate one must press the light on the CD door and all that does is to pop out the CD tray. Reboot. Fortunately, I haven't found any use for the CD drive since the initial week.
I haven't dropped it yet to test out the promised protection mechanisms... I only hope Lenovo engineers did test out all that. Now I am beginning to doubt that.
I wonder if I will recommend a Lenovo to anyone. I like the CPU and OS but that's not Lenovo. I had such better experience with Latitudes.
