New doesn't always spell better. This is an older Toshiba model but with the WiDi (wireless display) feature built in, this makes this a nice device with an edge. Along with the Netgear TV1000 box which connects to your tv, you can wirelessly send whatever you are viewing on your laptop to your tv. There are newer versions and models of this very feature, but the color scheme of this particular model is eye catching. It has a blueish mirrow chrome top panel and the mouse buttons match. The outer edges along both the left and right side of this machine are also of this color scheme.
There are other nice features like a row of dedicated buttons. Two inparticular are the ECO button and the WiDi button. These are my favorites. The ECO button allows you to put the unit into power consumption conservation mode which you the administrator can modify. The WiDi button launches the wireless display feature. Without these keys you would have to go through a number of clicks to launch either of these features.
This particular model is not quite as fast as some of the other i5 processor models i've used but it's acceptable. The screen viewing area is just slightly over 11 1/2 inches which to some may be a drawback (but remember that you can send it to your tv using the WiDi feature). The unit is not too thin nor too thick. Not too heavy yet not too light as to make one feel as if its less durable. The number keys set above the QWERTY row of characters. Typing can sometimes be a little cramped.
Despite my last paprgraph I still like this model and would recomend it to someone looking for an older model laptop with decent features. Having the WiDi was the deal sealer for me. I tend to like the not so newer models of many devices for various reasons.
