I bought this for my home computer. I need something light, powerful enough for most games and some light multimedia work. I have much higher-end equipment at work, including a lovely Origin desktop, two powerful multimedia Dells, an HP Touch desktop and 5 powerful Macs, including 4 iMacs and a MacBook Pro. I also have several tablets, including 3 64GB iPads, a mini-iPad and a Toshiba Thrive. I say all this to let you know I have a good basis for comparison, and I can vouch for this little Toshiba Satellite R945-P440. Complaints about the body are silly, in my opinion. One rarely looks at anything but the screen, so who cares? I don't care if it is aluminum or plastic, smooth or ridged. That said, if pushed, I'll admit I like the plastic ridged feel a bit better than the other surfaces I have because it is less slippery. So long as the body is reasonably sturdy, I'm happy. The battery life is great, the computer is very light, and it feels like a bigger screen than it is. I'd say the only gripe I have is the touch pad, which isn't as responsive as I'd like. I have nice keyboard cases for my iPads, but I find that when I travel for work, if wireless conditions aren't ideal, they aren't very useful. So, when I want to really get something done on the road, the Toshiba is my top choice. It's much lighter than my MacBook Pro and doesn't require me to carry adapters.

I expected much more from Toshiba in terms of build quality. Not as fast as I had expected. Speakers were so poor that I'm thinking they were fried because I've heard better sound quality in a two year olds toy.
I'm glad that Amazon and the seller, YekiTek were both helpful.
