this is a good looking and feeling unit. I especially like the fact that the key labelling is sharp, clear and large. The unit runs very cool and quietly. It has been performing well so far. The graphics are sharp and clear.

The big issue I had was the work required to get it under control. I like to manually set up a new machine including Internet setup so I don't get a bunch or redirects when on line. This is the first pc I have experienced where you have to go online thru their portal, the unit will not allow manual Internet setup. There were plenty of startup apps to get under control as well.

Once all that is done you have a good performing pc which also looks quite nice in my opinion. It is noticeably faster than my previous unit.

Recommended if you are willing to spend some extra time on setup or you don't care about that kind of thing. A good value.

This is the first Apple computer I have ever owned, and I would highly recommend this MacBook to anyone who is in the market. It is really fast, the battery life lasts a really long time (much longer than my last Windows based laptop!) and you can tell it is really well made. Love the white color, too.

I'm giving this one 3 stars. I don't see the big speed improvement when compared to my 2 year old Dell. Then again, I haven't tried any games that would take advantage of the 1G video card or heavy processor intensive work. I mainly use it for everyday use like email, MS Office, browsing, running a web site, etc.

Things I don't like:

Keyboard: It takes getting use to. Typing on the raised keys is defintly diffenent then the conventional keyboards.

Hard drive: Not the fastest at 5400rpm. I might upgrade to either with a SSD or a 7200rpm HD. Also, you can hear the HD spinning, reading and writing under the keyboard. Clicking sounds are a little annoying.

Memory: Only comes with 4G when it could support max of 8G. Comes with 2x2G and if you need to upgrade, you need to pull out the existing memory. It's a waste of money.

Weight: Little on the heavy side.

Comes with a Blu-Ray reader and not a Blu-Ray burner

Bloatware: :Added Value" or not, I've uninstalled tons of unwanted software.

Back-lit keyboard (goes off after few seconds. Can't leave it on all the time)

Things I like:

Large screen, 16.4"

Ease of making backup media in case the hard drive crashes. You'll need 3 DVDs.

Back-lit keyboard (makes it easier to see the letters in the dimmly lit room)

Price; I got mine really cheap as I bought it as an opened box and it was a previously retuned item.

Bottomline: Not a bad machine; I wouldn't have bought it for the full price;

I purchased a Sony Vaio VPCF122FX and I'm not happy with it. It seems to be running hot all the time. The cooling fan is very noisy and you cannot watch a video or listen to music without this high pitch noisy fan running in the background. I've used a DELL E6400 laptop and it is super quiet by comparison, regardless of how many windows I've got open or applications I've got running.

Bought this laptop a year ago and of course after the one year warranty, things go south.

The laptop is flimsy, as the majority of the case is made from plastic. When you pick this thing up, you can feel and hear this thing cracking and flexing. Not Good.

As a result of the flimsy case, components began failing. First the blue ray player went out, but not completely, it still plays blue rays and burns DVDs and cds. It just won't read regular US DVDs. I've reformatted the hard drive, installed all updates, and cleaned it and everything under the sun! After contacting sonny about the problem they recommended the drive needs to be replaced.

Second, the hard drive failed after I reinstalled everything after the failure of the blue ray drive. Luckily I had an extra 320 gig laying around. The disk drive's failure was mechanical, possibly due to the lack of internal support or shock absorbing properties of the case itself. I do not travel much; it's a shame after about 4 trips in a backpack the drive/s fail.

After the hard drive and blue ray drive failures, I was convinced things were ok again. Wrong. As I am Skyping the wife, in mid sentence, the keyboard and touch pad quit working. I'm thinking virus, although I have up to date Norton, driver failure or something. After troubleshooting every software possibility, it turned out the ribbon that connects the display buttons and keyboard, have a bad connection. I wiggled the ribbon, which is located under the speaker panel by the caps lock lights, and the keyboard came back. The touch pad, however still does not work. So I took it all apart to find that a manufacturing flaw caused the ribbon of the touchpad to be pinched between the case. Over the course of a year, the thin and flimsy ribbon wore through.

I use a Bluetooth mouse so I had to borrow a usb mouse to install my Bluetooth mouse, but now everything is working, except the touch pad of course.

With how unreliable this computer is, I would never use it to type an important document, you never know when this thing will fail you. I'm going to give it to my 6 year old to play with.

On the plus side, despite the slow hard drive, the processor, graphics, ram and esata port are great.

The display is fuzzy, not very clear.

Never again Sony.

I have had this laptop now for several months and can't be happier with it. The style is second to none. It is very similar to the new ultra books, not as thin, close but has everything I wanted and a DVD drive. Plenty of USB drives, has the new 3.0, has an HDMI, I5 and is super fast. The battery is built in and last for hours, I get at least 7.5 hours no problem. Also I really like the fact that this computer does not really get that hot. I have had laptops that just heat up, this one stays cool. The key is one of these new multi-function and works great. The screen looks fantastic as well, put a movie in looks great and the speakers are very good. Overall I am very happy with this computer

This laptop itself is OK. I've had no major problems with the functionality. I do wish it had a different memory setup. It says you can get 6gb of memory in there, but you'd have to find a 6gb chip I think.

The major issue is the trackpad. It is actually so bad that I've wondered if mine is broken or something and might look at returning it. The buttons are integrated into the trackpad... so basically, there aren't any actual buttons. Pretty much the whole trackpad "clicks", and so it determines a right-click, a left-click and a nothing click based on where your fingers are on the pad. But, you often have multiple fingers on the touchpad, so a lot of clicks just don't register because it can't figure out what you're trying to do. Also, the buttons being part of the track pad means that if you don't already have your finger resting on the button area, and you move the cursor to where you want to click, and then try to click the button area, the cursor will often move as it registers you setting your hand on the button area as movement. Sure, it's not much, but it's enough that it will slide the cursor just off of links and stuff very very annoying.

For some other comments... just a few things to note:

The function buttons are reversed meaning the laptop options are there, and you have to hold the function key to make them the actual F1-12 buttons. This is handy as long as you don't use the F keys. I actually do use them sometimes, so I found this kind of annoying. I can't just hit alt-F4 to close windows anymore, for example.

There are no independent "Home" and "End" buttons. Again, you have to hold the function key. I find this annoying, but again, I get that not everybody uses those.

A last small design thing... The wrist-wrest isn't very big. If you're looking for a 14 inch laptop, this isn't really it... this is a 13 inch laptop with a 14 inch screen. Again, that might be what you want. But, know that this has the keyboard, and size of a 13 inch. My hands are bigger, and I find the wrist-wrest and keyboard to both be a little small.

i ordered this but had to return as there was a problem with the BIOS. Amazon allowed me to return it for free and i ordered another.

The new one is working just fine and is amazingly convenient in size and extremely attractive.

Only problem is that the bluetooth doesnt work even though i uninstalled the driver and downloaded and installed it again. Hopefully it'll work sometime.

This laptop doesnt come with an external battery and i think that's a huge factor to consider to those who are wishing to buy it.

I've been a gateway user for 7yrs and i've never been let down.

It's small, attractive and sufficient. i5 processor,4 gb ram and usb3.0 are really good specs imo.

I bought this laptop a few weeks ago for $550 and I can't believe how the price has gone considerably up to $700. Now, this $550 is worth every dime as you get 14" screen in a 13 inch body, widi, usb 3.0, dvd drive and i5! It certainly was the cheapest out there at that time so I just had to grab it. The build quality (except for the keyboard) is really great, brushed aluminum so it's not all cheap plastic. The bottom is plastic but the rest is brushed aluminum, so you can't go wrong with that. Also, battery is SUPER, it can last for 8 hours on a single charge. Oh, and the speaker is dolby... And the height is less than 1 inch and weigh less than 5 lbs!

These features are the ones you can only find in the ultraportable (portege, folio, u400). I also have a Folio 13 btw which is hands on the best ultraportable out there for the price of $850.

As to cons, I noticed flex on the keyboard especially on G and H which essentially tells how great is build quality. Nonetheless, there is no flex on the screen. I say this for those who considers Acer Timelinex that has a LOT of flex. I also would have preferred the tiles to be a different color than aluminum and the layout is not attractive. You have to see it for yourself to know what I am talking about.

Other than that, you can't go wrong with this. It's very fast, quick to boot from hibernate, if ever it goes down again to $550, don't think twice and get it.

First of all, I didn't purchase the laptop through Amazon. I got it

from Lenovo's website. Having heard good things about the company and

read some good reviews of their laptops, I decided to check them out

when I needed a new laptop. I've had my Y550 for 4 days and will post

updates if things change for the worse but so far so good.

The specs:

Intel Duo P8700 (2.53 GHz)

4GB of DDR3 memory

500 GB HDD

Standard integrated graphics card

Blu-ray optical drive

The price was very good. I couldn't find a better deal (about 900

bucks after the ecoupon) for such a powerful machine with a blu-ray

option.

The first thing I noticed after setting up everything was the

beautiful, bright, and crisp screen. It is a full HD screen and

it is wide/squat (1366 x 768), great for watching movies. The screen

is bright, crisp and glossy but has very little glare. It really does

live up to the hype I've heard about it though I do wish that Lenovo

offered a higher resolution screen option (like a 1920 x 1080). After

seeing a blu-ray movie on it, I came away not disappointed that I paid

the extra 150 bucks for the blu-ray option.

The setup was easy and the software gives you the option of deleting

all the bloatware that it comes standard with. (It took me about 15

minutes to deselect all the bloatware) I only selected two of them to

run on my computer as the rest was useless junk that will slow

everything down and I suspect useless to most people too.

Performance: The computer is quite fast so for my needs (email, net

surfing, word processing, etc), it is more than sufficient. The

computer has the newer DDR3 memory making it even a little more

impressive performance wise.

Looks: It has a beautiful design with black carbon-fiber shell and

white palm-rest. The idea is to make the laptop light (it is just over

6 lbs, and only 1 inch thick(!) which for a laptop this size, it

really is among the lightest and thinnest.

Sound: The speakers are pretty good. It has a subwoofer and two JBL

speakers that, for a laptop, gets decent sounds.

Cool factor: The Veriface security software works very well in

allowing one to use one's own face to log in (the computer's camera

scans your face and logs you in when there's a match to saved images

of you) and only takes a few seconds to set up. No problems yet with

it and it works like a charm. The carbon-fiber shell, though not

fingerprint proof, will make cleaning them off easier; just wipe once

with non abrasive cloth and they're gone. The Touch Inductive Panel

above the keyboard is pretty cool but only a little better than being

useless as far as I can see. The touchpad allows for expanding/shrinking

text size by sliding two fingers apart or together.

Batteries: There are several energy settings. Since this is a powerful

laptop and has a relatively large screen, it doesn't do well at all on

the highest setting unplugged as to be expected. But on the lowest

energy-saver setting (Super Energy Saver), you could probably get a

little over 3 hrs of internet surfing, email, etc. and about 22.5

hrs of watching movies. But who wants to watch a movie on such a low

setting? The bright LED screen makes viewing a pleasure but on the

lowest settings, you will not get nearly as much image quality. So

this laptop is more like a desktop replacement in that area but get's

OK battery mileage for simpler functions.

Negatives:

-The thing only has two USB ports (Plus one eSATA port). For

a laptop with almost a 16 inch display, it should have more.

-Like I mentioned, Lenovo doesn't offer a 1920 x 1080 display

option. Watching blu-ray on a system like that with this type of

screen would have been incredible I'd wager.

-Like some other customers have mentioned Lenovo's customer support blows. I emailed them with some simple questions about my order and could not get a satisfactory answer. The answer they did give me was wrong as I later found out doing my own research. But since this has nothing to do with the product, I didn't deduct my rating on this account but the customer should be warned. Also, if you are buying from Lenovo's site, make sure you look into all the offers they have on sale such as the ecoupons they have scattered (hidden from view?) about on their site. You need to enter the code on the order page for the coupon when you order to get the discount. I got a 12% "employee discount" that cut the price of my laptop by 120 bucks but I had to dig through the site to find it. They sometimes also offer free shipping but search/hunt down and read the disclaimers (they don't offer this for several states). The Lenovo website was pretty disorganized and confusing.

-There's a lot of bloatware that comes installed on this laptop. Like I

said, remove as soon as possible because they are mostly crap and will

slow your computer down.

-The laptop doesn't come with backup software. Instead, it has a "One

Key Restore" function. I've had to use this function when I

accidentally uninstalled some good software that I wanted. I'd like to

have backup software, still.

-The touchpad takes little to get use to but that's not too much of a problem.

Overall, the computer has lived up to my high expectations and surpassed

them a little too!

[EDIT] It's been about 7 months since I got the computer and its harddrive has died. Lenovo's basic warranty took care of the problem in about a week's time. I hope it's just a problem with the manufacturer of the harddrive or that I was unlucky enough to get a crappy harddrive and not with Lenovo's fault. That's what I suspect but I have to update my rating from a 5 Star to a 2 Star since I don't really know what resulted in it.

[EDIT] Ok, another problem. The DVD/blu ray player will not play certain blu ray discs. So now I'm stuck with a 25 dollar blu ray disc that I can't play on it and can't return to the store.

I have had this laptop for over 3+ years, and it doesn't disappoint. I mainly use it for gaming, and its is pretty good! I have played many games on this laptop. It can run Team Fortress 2, Bioshock 2, Minecraft, Mirrors Edge, Portal 2, and many other games without lag.

The only downside to this laptop is that it can't play some of the newer games such as Batman Arkham City, Battlefield 3, and Borderlands 2.

Other than that, there aren't that much downsides!

I bought this laptop from Lenovo website in September 2009 for $650. Intel C2D T6500, 4GB DDR3, 320GB HDD... and have been using it since. After a year, i had to get a replacement battery as it would die in 20 minutes. Didn't have any other issues other than that.

Pros: WLED screen is beautiful. Easy to change components (i replaced my 320 gb hdd with a ssd and it was very easy to do). Not noisy at all. No heating issues.

Cons: Only 2 USB connectors. Speakers are not that powerful. Intel graphics card is not good enough to play HD movies or any games.

There's this weird slot which comes with it which, frankly is a waste of space. Build quality is not that good, feels like plastic, but is not that flimsy either. I believe i dropped it down once from 3-4 feet in the school library and it survived.

Hi everyone. First let me say that I did NOT purchase this laptop from Amazon. I got mine at a discounted price from NewEgg.

I'm going to break this review down into several categories.

My specs are as follows:

Intel Core2 Duo P7450 2.13GHz

4GB DDR3 RAM

Nvidia GeForce GT 240M

15.6" Screen

320GB 5400RPM HDD

Design:

Lenovo's laptops are designed very well (especially their ThinkPad Edge, T, and X Series), but there are a few design flaws that I personally don't like in this model. I do NOT like the hinges on this laptop. I have to hold the bottom half of the laptop when I open the lid and if your not careful the screen will shake back in forward until you stop it. The trackpad (which has small bumps on it) may be a bit small for some people, but I didn't have a problem with it. However, even though I don't like the hinges and the trackpad can be annoying sometimes this machine has an excellent keyboard (A HUGE plus for me), good speakers, dedicated volume up/down and mute buttons, responsive clicking buttons, and a decent 1366x768 screen(glossy).

Performance:

The performance on this laptop is awesome! I haven't experienced any slowing down from this computer since I bought it 2 years ago. HDD hasn't failed, RAM hasn't degraded, and the processor is still as fast as it was 2 years ago. I still feel like I have a new computer. The Nvidia graphics are good, but I don't know if you can still find this model (maybe on ebay). The graphics card is great for the games I have played (City of Heroes, LOTRO, Dragon Nest, Portal 2, Left4Dead 2, etc.)

Software:

This computer does come with some bloatware, but it also comes with some cool and useful software. You will just need to choose what you want to keep and what you want to get rid of. I do suggest that you uninstall the antivirus (either mcafee or norton) and install either Advast (Free) or ESET Smart Security ($40+ depending on when you buy and what version you get)

Heat & Battery Life:

My laptop will only get hot on the back left side of the laptop where the vent is, and it only happens when I have used it for 1+ hours or when I am playing a game. As for battery life I have experienced 4hrs when I first purchased (3hrs now 2yrs later). If you play games then expect the battery life to be cut in a third. In short, have it plugged up when you play games.

Verdict:

If you want a good computer for the cheap price of $500 then this laptop would be great for you, but you will have to deal with the bad hinges, bumpy touchpad, and looking through the pre-installed software to see what you want to keep.

Suggestions:

If the laptop isn't as fast as you would like then I would install a free version of Linux such as Mint Linux or Bodhi Linux. You will have to learn how to use a new system, but it is MUCH faster. If you keep Windows 7 (like I did) then I would uninstall the antivirus that came preinstalled and buy ESET Smart Security like I mentioned above.

I purchased the IdeaPad Y550 straight from Lenovo and also purchased a 3-year warranty. The laptop overall is very fast and worked well at first. After 4 months, the computer would not boot up, and when it did the screen was black...I had to get the motherboard replaced! Thank goodness I purchased the warranty, as I was able to ship the laptop to Lenovo for the motherboard replacement.

After upgrading to Windows 7, I had issues with the sound and video (only heard static, Media Player did not work, videos did not play online) which were fixed after Lenovo support spent a couple hours working on it. It seems that everything is in order now, although I do not think the sound quality is as high as when I first purchased the laptop.

Overall, a decent laptop, but I encourage anyone who purchases it to also get a full warranty.

I just got my Series 9 AO7 with Windows 8 and it is nothing short of Awesome! In August I bought a 13" MacBook Air, which revolutionized my business travel experience with its slim profile and light weight, and for the most part it is a very satisfying laptop. The problem for me with the Mac was that I mostly use Microsoft Office programs, and Excel on a Mac is a true nightmare of biblical proportions; slow and not at all user-friendly. That was my first Mac experience and if not for the Excel issues I would probably be very happy. The Series 9 has all the great multi-function pad features of the Mac, but this 15" has double the Ram plus the latest 1.9 I7 processor and it is blindingly fast. Win8 is taking a little getting used to but the learning curve is very fast if you are comfortable playing around a bit. The weight difference between the 13" Mac and 15" S9 isn't noticeable and the bigger screen is quite welcome with a length profile that is less than 2" different. The S9 case is sleek and beautiful, it fits perfectly in my briefcase which was a concern, and the powercord comes apart and is much slimmer than my old Dell (which I'll never go back to).

I have not noticed any of the wifi issues others have complained about; maybe it was fixed?

This Samsung Ultrabook is hands down the best PC I've ever owned. I highly recommend it!

UPDATE added 10/24/13:

Having used this ultrabook for the past year I can't say enough about how great it is. The worst thing I ever did was listen to the Apple crowd and go Mac Air, and the best thing was dumping it and buying this Samsung. As I said a year ago, this has proven to be the best PC I've ever owned and I've had more than 10 over the past 2 decades. The battery remains as robust as it was a year ago. I had a minor problem last month when I booted up one morning and it would not accept my login passwords at startup. I reentered like 500 times and finally it took, but I could tell there was still a problem. I believe this was a Windows 8 issue and not a Series 9 issue. My IT people were able to fix the problem using a PW hack, but I suggest if you haven't already done so to take a memory stick and make a backup key for your login prompt. It was stupid that I hadn't done that but now I know.

Otherwise everything has worked flawlessly. I'll also add that the laptop is tough. I was recently on a commuter flight to Chicago and had to stuff a bag in the overhead. I used a little too much force and made a small dent in the bottom of the PC. No problem. Aside from a slight cosmetic blemish it is not any worse for the wear.

Overall this remains the most satisfying and headache-free computer I've ever known, plus it delivers a 10 on the Awesome factor when you're in a room full of people with their sorry clunkers.

This is a great laptop. well built. strong feel. super cool look. really fast boot time in seconds. The only th;ng I really couldn't stand was windows 8. was willing to deal with it but then i found out that my work VPN was not compatible with win8 so it had to go.

It took a long time to figure out how to make this computer boot from USB so I could install Win7 so i'll give some instructions here:

1. boot computer and push F2 repeatedly to enter bios

2. hit arrow key to right and stop at Advanced. Disable Fast BIOS Mode

3. tap over more to Boot tab and disable secure boot; change OS Mode to CSM OS

4. Select Device Priority and ENTER, then change Boot Order making USB first

5. F10 to save.

now should boot USB.

I was very surprised with just how much I enjoy this laptop! I was looking for something light and mobile, but still big enough to accommodate a good sized screen and a decent resolution. I read a lot of reviews, and the general consensus was that it was a great laptop but, of course, not perfect.

The first thing I noticed when I got it was how ridiculously good looking it is. It has a sleek, dark metallic design with silver brushed sides. It is definitely something I wouldn't mind being seen with :-P

It is also extremely light and comfortable to work with. It is easy to move around, even in tight quarters. It also never gets too hot from what I could tell, although I mostly stick to just web browsing, so you can take that with a grain of salt. The joint between the screen and the base also has a great resistance to rotating. It is enough to stop it from tilting the screen from moving it around, but still easy enough to adjust it when you need to.

The keyboard is fantastic. The backlight is useful in the dark, and the keys have a nice, responsive feel to them. The only thing I don't like is that you have to turn on the "Fn Lock" to use the programmed keys for volume, brightness, etc.

The trackpad was the best I've ever used (yes, even better than the MBP). It has all of the familiar features (click with two fingers for a right click (or you could do a normal right click), swipe with two fingers to scroll, and pinch to zoom), and it is much easier to click than on the MBP. There is honestly nothing bad about it. Bravo!

The screen is beautiful. I was hoping to find a laptop with 1920x1080, but the 1600x900 is not bad at all. The picture looks crisp, and the colors are bright and vivid. The screen also gets extremely bright; it's pretty impressive considering the big battery life.

The battery life blows my mind a bit. It says 7.2 on the specs, but with just web browsing, I've been getting somewhere between 9-10 hours. It's nice not having to worry about the battery throughout the day.

In my opinion, they had too much pre-installed software. I'm not a big fan of pre-installed software, but luckily they made it easy to get rid of it all. You just go into the Windows 8 settings and reinstall Windows 8. Erase everything and once it boots up again (all of the pre-installed software will be gone) it'll have a nice little convenient Samsung download center on your desktop with all of the drivers and software that you need.

I should also note that the webcam works very well. A lot of laptops ignore the webcam quality, but the Series 9 did a great job with it's.

Overall, it is the best laptop I've ever used. It suits my needs perfectly, and I don't plan on upgrading for a while. Although, I have heard that they are working on a new series 9 laptop with a ridiculous resolution and touch screen. So if that is important to you, you might want to Google it to see if you want to hold off for that one!

I spent lots and lots of hours searching for the best Ultrabook for travelling while maintaining my ability to do work for an extended period of time. Since I am a software developer, I need power and I had clear criteria that I needed to be matched:

1. I7 (or even I5) processor

2. 8 Gb RAM mimnimum

3. 256 Gb SSD minimum.

I can only say that Samsung Series 9 NP900X4C-A07US 15-Inch Premium Ultrabook (Ash Black) matched everything and now using it for almost 1 month I can only praise the processing power and speed while doing intensive work on both databases and computations.

The keyboard back lit is amazing, the keyboard is amazing, the track pad is very good compared to previous laptops that I had, but I'm using an external mouse anyway.

The battery is also amazing, because doing development can be quite demanding in terms of battery consumption, I can get 5-6 hours depending on the tasks. While only browsing/reading takes you to 9-10 hours. Watching movies is also very demanding in terms of battery so it holds for 5-6 hours.

The only draw back is the video card which cannot be really used for any serious gaming, also the resolution that is not amazing having a maximum 1600x900. But that's fine with me since I don't do graphical work on it.

All in one, this a masterpiece and I can fully recommend it which I rarely do since I'm very picky on computers.

Really nice notebook, well-built, thin, light, boots amazingly fast, good battery life, but definitely overpriced. Power jack looks fragile as on most laptops, but no problems with it yet. Don't know why these laptop manufacturers can't look at how Apple does the power connection on their Macbooks.

I cannot get WiDi to work. I have the Belkin Screencast but haven't gotten far enough through the configuration process on the notebook to make a connection. I have downloaded the latest WiDi updates, with no success when I try to run the WiDi app. Something to do with the Samsung custom driver for the Intel 4000 graphics not being compatible with Widi software. Samsung support is of no help, at first they say they are working on the driver, then they say this laptop is not compatible with WiDi, despite product literature statements to the contrary. Either way, WiDi does not work out of the box on this notebook. This is false advertising in my opinion.

Also, I cannot figure out how to use the supposedly combined headphone/mic jack for mic input. Works fine as a headphone jack, but I have not been able to get an external mic to work. May have to use USB mic/headset for things like Dragon.

Touchpad is a pain, had to disable/reconfigure a couple of things, but I'm starting to get used to it. Windows 8 also takes getting used to, not sure I ever will. I hate the way Windows 8 apps take the whole screen, no controls visible, you have to go to top of screen and pull pointer down to bottom to kill apps. I spend all my time in the Desktop mode. Maybe I should have stuck with Win 7, perhaps WiDi would still work. On the plus side, all my old 32-bit apps seem to run fine under Windows 8.

Well this is a very cheap laptop ( price related ), ive been faithful to toshiba this is my 3rd laptop, I always sell them and buy new ones... Gotta love the whole keyboard, the design is simple but kind of roughed which is nice( not scratching )... LCD LED is nice widescreen, very fast i already loaded all my files and still running fast, turn on in less than 2 minutes, other pc's take a while to load up all the starters programs... The only thing im not so happy is that it only has 2 usb ports and no HDMI port... before i forget battery life is good, last around 5 hours may be more if you set it up right, it doesnt get hot ( thanks god ) ...

Bottom line if your on a budget toshiba c655 is the way to go, your not going to regret it, if you have a lil more money try the L55 and let me know :) ... toshiba all the way, cant go wrong with them !!!

This is my second Toshiba Satellite laptop. I bought my first in early 2007, have used it for several hours most days, and it is still going strong. I needed a separate laptop for a new job and this is just perfect. Nice keyboard layout, and I like the starter office program that you really do not have to upgrade if you just want to do simple documents. Nice and lightweight around 5 pounds to take places, good screen resolution. So far, so good. Price is right!

I bought spectre 14 3010nr first and it turned out to be very very slow for a $1200 original price computer. I returned it and bought this model for about $100 more thinking that it will be fast enough as it does have better processor and graphics memory. Turns out it is snapping fast for a notebook as well it came with all the necessary softwares with less junk.

Why 3 stars? Because it has a defective screen. I read the reviews of 14-3010nr that there were problems with screen but I thought newer model will have that issue fixed. It works but sometimes the colors go dim and white color turns into light green. I am really disappointed from HP because when you buy a laptop on a premium price, you expect premium performance too. I think all the "premium price" you pay is for the software that it comes with (Adobe premiere elements, lojack 1 year subscription and Norton internet security for 2 years). But I would rather had got a fantastic laptop with none of these software, which I can substitute with ones of my choice.

Here are pros and cons in my POV:

Pros:

Awesome design>>> I really mean it.

Good processor >>> Don't compare it to desktop i5's or i3's but its good for daily uses

Intel HD 4000 >>>> This is only in pros if you compare it to previous model with graphics 3000; which had lags in playing hd videos.

Sound >>> don't expect to use it for party even though it has beats audio but the volume is very good for a laptop

Cons:

Screen >>> even though it has higher resolution then most of the laptops out there, screen problems are just not acceptable when they are carried from one model to another.

Ram >>> 4 gb is not enough especially when the Ram is also used for graphics purposes. Note: you can upgrade to 8 gb but its a very painful process.

NFC >>> Awesome idea on paper but no practical use. It only add $$ to price.

Camera >>> I am really sick of companies advertising

I searched a lot of sites and reviews before finally deciding on getting the XPS 14 and I was not disappointed.

The Good:

It is solid, fast and with Windows 8, it is even more fast and presents an enjoyable experience. It is also very solid and stable and you can see the materials used are top quality. It is really good.

The battery life is around 7 9 hours of regular use and it boots and shuts down in 7-10 seconds. Really quick. This can be due to to SSD portion of the drive and also Windows 8

The bad:

Keyboard: The keyboard will need getting used to as they are not like your regular keyboard but once you re used to it, you will enjoy the feel of it.

***Display: The display is good and crisp but when you look closely to the display, the images are not definite and does not look perfect for an HD display. But it is ok and manageable. I am not sure if it is the notebook or it is Windows 8.

***Update: After video driver updates picture quality is much better and HD videos are truly HD. Nice nice now.

Touch Pad: Another new from dell that needs a lot of getting used to. The touchpad is larger and sometimes when typing, there is a likelihood you will touch it. So again, it will take you are while to get used to it.

The mouse has just a line dividing the clicks and you will need some time as well to adjust when right-clicking. The clicks make some sound I don't actually like but well, I am getting used to it.

Weight: It is heavier than the average ultrabook but hey, it is loaded with heavy materials and content.

Ports: No Serial/VGA port, 2 USBs which I think is not enough, No CD/DVD drive. But you can get some of the connectors on Amazon and use the mini port to get VGA etc.

Wifi: Dell confirmed they had fixed the wifi issue but I still experience some disconnections to the wifi once in a while. Not really good though.

It can also get a little hot sometimes.

On the whole, I think it is one of the best notebooks/Ultrabooks I have used yet. It is fast, solid, intuitive, and almost perfect and I wil recommend it to everyone if you can ignore the minor flaws.

It is a good buy for me ad I think it is a real competitor to the MacBook Pro (but not in display).

I will recommend this ultrabook.

The fan was creating problem which they replaced, but actually its a tape or something which was continuously touched to the fan. The warranty is 2-3 months less than a year whcih is quite disappointing.

I ve been very dispointing by the wireless capability of this PC.

I should have read the review , I am experiencing trouble with the wireless card ( hard to make it work more than 10 feet away from the router, very unstable, create instability on the network even for other users)...

I called dell 3 times already they finally send someone to change the wireless card, the technician came, but without the card... he has to come back again...

That may be that I am unlucky and got the wrong one, but I read other review about trouble with the wireless capability of this PC.

UPDATE : DELL Send a tecnician to my place, ;ore than 2 weeks after I reported the issue ( supposed to have a Next business day on site warranty included with this XPS). Technician came a first time, without the wireless card. Technician came a second time 1 week later, change the wireless card, then it was still having issue, he left and tell me : I am only in charge of hardware, this maybe software.

I bought this computer a month ago and Wifi is still not working properly, and I spent maybe 4 hours with the technical support....

This laptop works great, feels great and looks great. It is heavier than a standard ultrabook it's hardware is beefier and it even feels sturdier. How many ultrabooks have dedicated graphics cards? The speed and battery life is great. The keyboard and touchpad take a while to get used to but, it feels great once you do. Screen is quite bright is detailed, fun to watch movies on. The battery life is a pleasant surprise.

Ports: there are only two USB ports on the 14", so one more would be ideal. The video ports are HDMI and mini-dvi, so hi def reigns (outdated VGA ports should never be included on quality machines). The ethernet port is cleverly designed and the audio port doubles as a microphone port.

This laptop loses one star because of persistent issues with the WIFI.

Overaall, Very sturdy, powerful computer and a great buy. Great alternative to a macbook pro. Heavier and thicker than most ultrabooks, but more powerful too.

My original review was 1 star because the laptop would not restart after shut down. I didn't want to deal with technical support for a brand new laptop so I requested a replacement. It worked fine until I tried to restart the laptop. Same problem, the Dell splash screen appeared but Windows did not load. This was a bit different because I was able to get into Setup easily and this was a problem with the earlier laptop. I did decide to call technical support since I suspected a driver conflict or something similar. I had to change a hard disk setting in the Setup menu and the tech support guy installed all Windows updates remotely. (Dell tech support is really good, by the way.) That solved that problem.

I did notice however occasional and brief WiFi dropouts so I checked Dell technical support and changed the settings on the WiFi adapter. Note: the Intel adapter on the laptop was not identical to the one on the support page so I was not able to change one of the properties. I'll wait to see if the changes I made did work and if not, another call to tech support.

It seems that some initial tweaking is required to get this laptop sync'ed with Windows 8, drivers, adapter, etc. However, the laptop is very fast and Windows 8 loads very quickly after fixes.

So if you don't mind a little tweaking, this laptop is a good purchase. You can check the reviews to verify this.

Windows 8 is another issue with software incompatibility, etc. but you will have to deal with this with any new laptop or computer that you buy right now.

Lenovo Thinkpad Twist 12.5-Inch Touchscreen Ultrabook (Black) Review

I travel extensively in the course of my work and needed a lightweight, but powerful tablet to keep up with my schedule: emails, spreadsheets, heavy web usage, web-based programs, etc. I wanted more speed and agility than an Atom processor can deliver, but I wanted to spend under $800.00

Having researched the various options until I couldn't bear it anymore, I settled on what I considered the best option: Lenovo Twist. It is truly an Ultrabook that is ultra-portable like a tablet. And, at $749.00 at my local OD store (sorry Amazon), it was a great value.

My experience so far is very satisfactory. In fact, the more I use the Twist, the more it exceeds my expectations.

PROS

Fast processor, 7200 rpm cached drive, clear, crisp display with a responsive and smooth touchscreen, and all the ports you could want.

Lenovo "QuichLaunch" is an easy and much appreciated replacement for the familiar Windows Desktop. In fact, i find myself effortlessly going back and forth between the two, as I learn the more tablet-like Windows 8 interface.

Build quality is excellent. The unit is sturdy, light, easy to hold (rubberized feel over a magnesium body) and the twist mechanism is solid yet smooth to rotate.

The keyboard is fantastic. I could not really understand what others were saying about the Lenovo keyboards being so wonderful, but now, I get it!

Overall, best value for the money, and I had my list narrowed down to Surface Pro (mt first choice if money were not an issue) and the Asus Iconia W700. In the end, the idea of detached keyboards and docking stations did not fit my idea of true portability.

Minimal bloatware, removed Norton AV fairly quickly.

CONS

Battery life is truly only four to five hours (max). But knowing this going this purchase, it is not a true problem. I travel alot, but my car has a built-in charge plug for these things. Way to go Ford Flex!

Two hours (+) of software and Windows updates, but everything went smoothly.

Battery has a feature that prolongs its service life, but does not allow a full charge. I will be disabling this feature to fully use my battery time.

I am otherwise, very pleased so far with this purchase. And, Windows 8 is not so bad, though they really need to fill out the offerings on the Windows (App) Store. Windows Defender works very well as an AV software and is faster than aftermarket programs, but you need to fully uninstall Norton before the option for Defender shows up as a choice (very tricky). i will update with any issues that arise. I bought Lenovo Twist 12.5 Touchscreen Ultrabook for my father for $649. Built in keyboard and convertibility and the Lenovo brand were the main 3 reasons behind this selection. I also recently bought an Acer W700-6831 for $699 from Amazon. Although Lenovo Twist is almost 1.5 pounds heavier than Acer W700 considering the W700's keyboard and case they both feel equal and not heavy at all.

This laptop looks cool with couple of shortcomings outlined below:

1) Battery life: ~3 hours with heavy usage. If you are looking for a tablet with day long computing with battery back up, Lenovo twist is not for you.

2) Fan Noise: During the start up it has a high pitch fan noise. Other than that fan noise is as expected from any laptop with a hard drive in it. I have to emphasize I think Acer W700 is slightly more quite though.

3) Screen Resolution: Lenovo has a1366 x 768 pixels HD screen. After I see 1920 x 1080 screen at Acer W700, I appreciate the higher screen resolution, this laptop should have a higher resolution screen. That said similar models in the market, in the same price range have also 1366x768 resolution screens.

Overall I am happy with Lenovo, I needed a convertible and there is no other solid tablet in the market to beat Lenovo Twist with a $649 price tag. If the battery life was better, I would give 5* to this product.

Pros:

It is light and I can see all notebooks going this way it future. The ability to have a hard disk and the SSD is great. The touch screen is also responsive

Cons:

One of the major limitations is that the memory cannot be upgraded after you buy it. With 4 GB and Windows 8 it is OK for email, Office etc. but slows down considerably when you have too many apps open.

Another problem I had was that intermittently, the screen would change orientation by 90 degrees and it was a pain to click on the key board sequences to make it right. Put the latest updates and it seemed to reduce but still had it happen once. At that point I decided to return it.

Overall:

It is a great concept and I am sure I will look for something like this in future as the vendors and Microsoft tweaks some of the flaws.

The Twist is a solid, well-priced tablet that fills a niche today. This is an old-school, flip the screen around and turn it down-kind of tablet, the kind they used to make before slates like the iPad and the Surface Pro became the norm. But unlike the older tablet notebooks, with the plastic displays that scratched easily, the Twist is made from iPad-like Gorilla Glass and is very crisp-feeling to use and very scratch resistant. Most will not need a screen protector, like the old tablets did. The Twist is also a lot thinner than those old convertible notebooks used to be.

The i5 processor and battery life are adequate and the 24GB cache SSD and 500GB 7200RPM hard drive provide a faster experience than most right out of the box. Personally though, I replaced the 24GB mSATA SSD and 500GB stock drives with a 250GB mSATA SSD and a 240GB SSD in the main bay (be careful, the main bay is a 7mm drive, not the standard 9.5mm in height than most notebooks can accept). The speed increase is significant and, with no drives with moving parts, its more suitable as a handheld device and the battery is a bit longer lasting too with an all-SSD configuration.

The port selection is excellent for a small notebook. Two USB 3.0 ports (sensibly, one on each side), a media card slot and both DisplayPort and mini HDMI ports are available. And, most happily, a Gigabit ethernet port is there too. So many tablets (including the Microsoft Surface and Lenovo's own Yoga) lack this critical port. It also has a SIM card slot for a mobile broadband card that can be custom ordered from Lenovo. It uses the mSATA slot that is currently taken up, out of the box, by the 24GB cache drive. But, alas, you cannot remove the mSATA card and replace it with a mobile broadband card because there are no antenna leads to connect to the broadband card.

The screen at 1368 by 768 is perfect for a 12.5 inch screen in my opinion. Unlike MacOS, which scales its desktop to the resolution, the Windows desktop icons and text become smaller and smaller as you increase the screen resolution. The Microsoft Surface, at 1920 by 1080, requires you to increase scaling by 25 to 50 percent to be usable for those of us without perfect eyes. And not all apps look right with that setting. But with the Twist, standard scaling is perfectly usable and the 768 height is adequate for 99.99 percent of what you might use.

The Windows 8 experience has been less than ideal. The lack of a Start button makes the OS difficult to use sometimes. But there are several third party products you can use to give you a Windows 7-like experience. I personally use "StartIsBack", a $3 program that restores the Start button to Windows 8. Its a great product that replicates a Windows 7 Start button exactly, even right down to the config menus and menu transparency effect. That little edition made Windows 8 become a whole new (or should I say old) experience. (rumor has it that Windows 8 Service Pack 1, when it comes out, will restore the Start button to Windows 8)

There are some issues though with the Twist. For one, the 4GB RAM is soldered on and is non-upgradable. You have to custom config order directly from Lenovo to get 8GB. Also, a personal pet peeve no illuminated keyboard. But the biggest issue is that there are some confirmed issues (probably driver-related) with the wifi/bluetooth card (Broadcom). The wifi has problems with some (not all though) routers in maintaining a fast, stable connection. And bluetooth mice will sometimes just drop out. So, that is something that buyers should be aware of.

Once they iron out that wifi/bluetooth problem, things should be looking up. I would give it an overall 5 star review because the Twist is a good, solid experience. But the soldered RAM and wifi issues knock it down to 4 stars in my view.

Things I love about the Twist:

+ The touchscreen is ultra responsive, and provides super clear resolution

+ I have found the moveable monitor to be far more useful than imagined, especially when sitting on planes or giving presentations

+ This was my first Win8 experience. After a few hours, I started to like it now actually preferring to use the touch screen rather than the mouse.

+ The physical keyboard is very nice, but I now prefer the soft keyboard on the touchscreen

+ The Twist is light enough for road warrior use , and seems sturdy and well-made.

Things that could be fixed:

The Wifi support is ok, but is limited on distance compared to my other devices

The energy management causes me to lose Wifi connectivity quite often; I am still experimenting with this to find a better balance

I did have to play with the audio settings to get my headset to work, but there was good help on the Lenovo user site.

I do get frequent messages for my Norton software telling me that CPU utilization is high even if not running many applications or tasks. I am not sure if these are real or phantom but I don't notice much performance degradation.

All in all, I am quite pleased with this platform. A recent WSJ review of touch-screen Win8 devices in general was quite fair. I'm sure this class of products will continue to improve, but if you need to buy a new Ultrabook today the Twist is a decent choice.

The laptop is considerably light for its monitor size.

It's very attractive and glossy.

The keyboard has a good tactile response.

Excellent heat dispersion (so far; it hasn't had time to build up dust or anything)

Cons:

The glossy finish makes this a fingerprint magnet. Be careful if you're anal about these things!

Intel HD graphics are adequate for productivity, but don't expect cutting-edge gaming.

Computer ships with OS on separate partition, making file management tedious unless you reinstall yourself.

Detail:

I bought this computer about a week ago as a "mobile hub" for my college career (computer science). In terms of size, this strikes a good chord between functionality and portability. It's considerably lighter than it looks in the pictures, but nothing has a cheap feel to it. The track pad has a nice grain feel to it, and the edges are tapered to give a smooth feel at the corners; it's responsiveness is a little questionable, though. Finally, the computer has a very attractive and clean layout, but its high-gloss design is a real fingerprint magnet. Watch out if you're a neat freak, as you'll be spending a lot of time wiping off smudges.

I have this laptop since yesterday. I have had no problem whatsoever with the laptop. I was initially discouraged when I heard that people were having trouble with the touch pad and the media keys, but I personally have not found any tidiousness with them.

Pros:

Sleek design

Sound is good

4 gb of ram is more than enough to run any program (Corel, Sony Vegas are no biggie)

-The Dell Dock is very productive and efficient, (same or even better than Apple's dock)

Cons:

-Obsidian Black is a finger print magnet. (you will need to clean your laptop almost twice a day)

-I do not know why but microsoft ranged my laptop a 3.2/7.1

-Battery runs out pretty fast. With Win 7 power saver and dells plan as well you could get 3 1/2 hours tops.

I would highly recommend this laptop and I have no regrets on buying it so far.

Had a latitude that died. Bought this laptop to replace it for business use. Biggest probs with it is print spooler continuously shuts off and you have to go thru 5-6 clicks to restart it several times a day. Very frustrating. Called dell support the first week. Was on hold for 45 minutes in the queue waiting for tech help. Once I got a live person (from india) he immed began a hard sell for the 270 dollar warranty package because I neede assTtce with software issues. When I called him on it and said "this is a hardware issue and dell's problem. are you refusing to even hear about the problem in an attempt to sell me something," he promptly hung up on me. I had wasted an hour. Dell support is a joke.

The other issue is the mousepad gets stuck pretty often, either blocking text when I don't intend to--forcing me to lift my hand and do a double tap or right click to turn off the blocking.

Very light weight very easy to carry around everywhere

Very Fast the I3 processor is very fast

Perfect Balance of Speed and Mobility easy to carry around everywhere(Believe me, I do carry this around everywhere. I dont use radio in my car but take this laptop to listen to audio books and podcasts.....Geek all the way...lol)

Here are the negatives:

IMPORTANT UPDATE: I just tried to get some warranty service done, and they make the follow up calls in next couple of days, but they call you around after 10:30 at night. even after i asked them to stop, they called me again at midnight!!!!absolute harassment.

First and FOREMOST the mouse pad(or finger pad, whatever you would call it) is nto very practical, if your hands have even a bit of moisture or sweat, the mousepad wont respond well. In fact it is so painful that It makes the computer very much less productive than my previous laptop.

The keyboard also seems very crammed.It doesnt respond well, even if I am typing at my normal speed and pressure, sometimes it will miss some characters. I still cant figure out why. Plus all the function keys can only be used if you use it in combination with Fn key.

Battery life: I only get about 2 hours on average. Although if you activate dell's battery saving features, it goes up about 25%.

In Conclusion: For the price, I find it to be a good value if you can tolerate the keyboard and mouse issues. I am trying to get it fixed by dell, but I dont know if they can really do anything. I personally wouldnt recommend it as keyboard and mouse are preety important. but it seems like I am the only one with these problems!

This laptop is good for word, business and any office related work. If your a movie watcher it is bad, glitches out in the middle of the movie, the mousepad glitches, the fast acess face recognition barely every works, when the computer starts up it glitches, 2nd month it was pretty bad but after that it is great, nice keyboard, one very horrible thing is battery life, as soon as you get it, make sure you charge the battery then drain it all the way and repeat for the first week or crucial for battery life. Finally pretty good lightweight and definetly smaller than it looks. Wide screen and lot of finger space when typing. Lastly only one huge problem, very bad at multi tasking.

I bought a refurbished one for 420$ and shouldn't expect more than this . even though I dropped it many times it didn't even get a scratch. Sometimes it gives fan error but gets fixed automatically

For the price, this is a very wonderful laptop. It packs a 3rd generation core i5 processor and the speed is great.

PROS

1. Cheap and really affordable considering what it is packed with.

2. Very light and easy to carry around.

3. Really fast to set up and boot

4. Does not heat up even when I run high end 3D programs like solidworks. good cooling system.

5. Good battery life of up to 5 hours under power saver mode.

CONS

1. It has a really cheap feel and the keyboard keys are a bit smaller than the usual keyboard keys especially the enter key.

2. It froze on the second day of usage and I had to do a hard reset.

3. All the USB ports are on one side of the laptop and really close to each other. So if you have an usual sized flash drive, you could only use two ports because there might be no space for the third.

Well, If you are looking for a nice laptop for good performance but not will to spend too much, This is it!

I'm not quite sure why there are two reviews giving a one-star and three-star review for minor issues. This laptop, at $560, is very nice. Others brands have laptops with these specs for over $700 easy. It's lightweight, quiet, and quick. Granted, there are some design flaws: USB ports mashed together on the left hand side, keyboard slightly smaller than usual with sometimes sticky keys, touchpad without mouse buttons (would have liked mouse buttons). However, the functionality of the computer is great it's quick, it's cool (doesn't heat up to 100+ degrees like some I've used), it's chic (simple design, but nice), lightweight, and the sound isn't too bad either. You're not gonna want this computer if you want to do hardcore gaming on it, but it's wonderful for students and general use. The keyboard comes with a full number pad on the right, which deviates the keyboard slightly to the left. I wish they would have left the number pad off and just made the standard keyboard bigger, but these are minor problems. Compared to other computers I've spent over $900 on, it's good. I wouldn't say it feels cheap, like others have mentioned. I like it so far. If anything goes wrong, I will definitely report back here.

This is an excellent laptop for those on a $500-$600 budget. It features a brand new 3rd generation "Ivy Bridge" Intel Core i5 processor. Nothing slow about it. In general, the laptop looks and feels like a more expensive piece of hardware. Very thin, sleek look. Light as a feather. Because of the relatively thin bezel encasing the display, it sort of feels bigger than it actually is. Keyboard is very nice and sturdy, easy to get used to for fast typing. Trackpad looks and feels like a Macbook. All in all, it is one hell of a nice laptop. This can be purchased at Office Depot in store if you're interested in checking it out before you buy it. Worth every penny.

VERY THIN (almost to a level of Ultrabook (but not really as it does not have the SSD Drive and the high endd Materials they use like aluminium)and LIGHT Laptop. I was so surprised of the thinness of this product and the specs that it has given (3rd gen 1.7 ghz i5) at a very competative price (got it for $499).

PROS:

-Very Thin for a 15.6 inch Laptop.

-Has 3rd Gen i5 Intel Chip.

-Surprisingly small power block/lightweight cord.

-Screen has Great Colors (Not saturated like others).

-Minimalistic Style (You have an option to change its appearance easily).

-Heat and Noise transfer to hand are so Minimal (you just can't put a gel cover over the keyboard as they design the airflow to go thru the "Keyboard's outlines" passing thru the left side where the fan outputs the airflow).

-LIGHTWEIGHT compared to other 15.6 inch Laptops (Because the Structure/body is made of Hard Plastic.. which... also made the price of this item affordable).

-HD Webcam is cool.

-Suprisingly light and small Power Block to charge the Laptop.

CONS:

-Laptop Body is Made of Hard Plastic which makes the Hardware looks and feels cheaply (which made the price of this item lower).

-TrackPad was good but not Great.

-Dongle for Ethernet/VGA Monitor Port (which I understand to make the design slimmer).

-A bit slower albeit it has a 6gb of RAM in a i5 Chipset 1.7 ghx turbo boost to 2.6 (which I easily fix by putting 2 X 8gb which equals to 16gb total making it more Responsive)

-a LOT OF BLOATWARE (some useful; some not).

-Keyboard is crampy so you may sometimes accidentally hit the TrackPad (but with a little practice; its duable).

-Sound coming from the speakers feels too much Treble (but it is louder than my VAIO E and the Dolby Surround Works which is tweakable by the way).

I GAVE IT A 5 STAR BECAUSE..

-The Price (which some of the suspected Cons outweighs the Pros of this Laptop).

-The thinness and lightweight.

-It serves the purpose of why a purchase this item which is an affordable; on the go, lightweight computer without me worrying about the value of this item if ever it gets stolen (Not using this for any financial transactions which I use my home computer to do that. Only for Web Surfing/ some emails and some Picture editing).

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR people who would want an affordable, thin lightweight 2nd Laptop on the go with the Internal Performance of a highly Spec. Computer. I haven't stop playing/using this eversince I got it so the fun factor is great.

PLUS...A couple of people who saw me with this THOUGHT I WAS USING AN ULTRABOOK which is a great compliment (and I never corrected them...just for the fun of it)!!!

I saw this at the store and thought it looked great. I checked the specs and everything. But what I didn't do was test the keyboard. The keyboard on this is horrible. I would say 25% of the keys I strike do not register. You have to strike extremely hard for the keys to register. I lose a lot of time with my work having to go back and correct my papers for keys that didn't register. This was a waste of $700 for me.
