I bought this piece of junk on the recommendation of a friend and I am so sorry I did. I had to manually disable the touchpad because every time I typed the least little thing the cursor started jumping. Now I have to use a wireless mouse all the time. The space bar sticks constantly which really makes life miserable. I bought this mainly for word processing and it is useless since the keyboard is basically nonfunctional. What a waste of my hard earned money.Best Deals for Asus X401A-RBL4 Notebook (Intel® Pentium B970 processor, 14"
I got this laptop for school... once i took it out of the box, i was worried that it was a cheap laptop because of how light it was, but i soon found this to be not true. i like the laptop because it is light and combact, but it is now small like an acer netbook. For the time i was in school i used the laptop hundreds of hours and typed up hundreds of documents and after the 9 months of me using it, it was still running smoothly. i am uproaching the tenth month of me owning this laptop, i have noticed that the start up is taking a while, the battery life typically doesnt last longer than a few hours (this is my own doing however), and opening documents is taking a tad bit longer. this is definetly not a gaming computer, however i am able to play a few. i like the keyboard, but the mousepad is a bit annoying being that it is one button not two. the speakers are probably the worst feature of the laptop, they put the speakers on the bottom of the laptop, and you can hardly hear a thing. my other problem is that there was only one audio jack, so it is either headphones or microphone. there are two usb jacks, an sd port, a place to plug in a chord for internet, and a place to plug up another computer monitor, it also has an hdmi port. an upside as well, there is a thing you can sign up for called asus webstorage.... you can download it on other devices andcomputers but when you own an actual asus product you get 32 gb instead of the typical 5gb, it pretty much allows you to backup pictures, documents, etc... which i found to be great for school. overall i find this laptop great for school and business, its decent with video playback (if you can overlook the sound issue), but this laptop is not made for gaming.

keyboard is unpredictable, and the touchpad is placed poorly so you are always moving the cursor when you are typing. The multifinger motions are unreliable at best. Don't forget because of the UEFI you wont get another OS installed. No cd drive, no backup disks. But it is a nice size...

My sister bought this for me as a birthday present and because my gaming rigs power supply went up. I use it as a bathroom laptop to read news while I'm in there because trying to do anything else is a pain in the ass. The keyboard is a nightmare and you practically have to punch the keys to get them to register and the space bar oh god dont get me started on how annoying it is to have to constantly smash the damn thing to get it to work at all. This thing sucks all because but the keyboard is worthless and youre better off plugging a mouse into it and using windows onscreen keyboard and clicking 1 letter at a time to type anything.
