The last laptop I owned was an hp compaq which lasted about 3 years and has disappointed me on several occasions. I got this Toshiba about a week ago and it was a much needed upgrade. The only thing that I really don't like about it is that it collects fingerprints and smudges instantly and the speakers aren't very loud...but besides that it's great!
Pros: Looks nice, has a small ac adapter (the one for my compaq was huge!), stays cool with side vent, long battery life, not a lot of pre-installed junk, nice keyboard design... This product is exactly as I expected and so far everything is working great! Thank you Toshiba!
Update 1 1/2 years later: I still love this laptop but it is starting to get real frustrating. Sometimes it doesn't matter how long I have been away from the laptop for it to go into hibernation mode. Then the only way I can get it to wake back up is to force shut it down and restart it because it doesn't respond to anything else. This is really frustrating if I have a window open or if I am in a hurry. I am not one to leave several windows open so I know that this is not the problem. I have antivirus and I scan and clean up my hard drive frequently so i'm not sure what the issue is. Despite this, I recommend this laptop to anyone on a budget. It is still the best one I have ever owned.
