I'm very pleased with my 13" MacBook, It can handle all media operations, and most music functions as well. I'm very pleased with it, I do a lot of music on this one, I want to add more memory if possible. This computer can handle many operations at one time,the duel core processor is awesome and if you had a tera byte of storage you wouldn't have to upgrade for a long time. Buy Asus U47A-RS51 14.1 Notebook - Intel Core i5 i5-3210M 2.50 GHz

(I'll try to remember to update this in a few months as I'm only 24 hours in to using the laptop, but I know I could have used more reviews when I was shopping so I wanted to share some initial thoughts.)

This unit is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a bigger screen than a netbook, but something small/light enough to easily carry around and this is perfect for that. So far battery life is great and I've had no problems connecting to various wifi networks, printers, etc.

Set-up went smoothly. There was the typical time to let Windows update (this product DOES have Windows 7huge sell for me!) and then it was good to go. I did choose to uninstall some of the existing programs, but that seems to be a standard issue on most units. I have since installed all of my software (skype, itunes, stata, etc) and they are all running perfectly, including some work with a pretty big data set. You do have to make your own back-up discs (which again, standard) and submit some information for the warranty, but I consider that time well invested.

Since other reviews have mentioned the trackpadit's definitely wider than on any of my previous laptops. However, I haven't had any problems with accidental dragging or my palm touching while typing. I'm not sure if I have smaller hands, or just hold my wrists up higher anyway, but if that has you on the fence I would try to find one in a store to test out. I may end up disabling some of the zoom features as I don't intend to use them, but I haven't had any problems so far.

Things that I wish were a little better: the webcam quality is kind of lownot bad, but not any better than my previous laptop (several years old) and I was hoping to see some improvement. However, people I've skyped with have reported hearing me clearly, so the built in microphone apparently works well. The speakers are on the bottom of the unit, and while the volume is fine, the quality is kind of off. The music sounds kind of tinny, or like there's an echo. However, when I plug in headphones, that sound quality is fine. So I guess I'll be using headphones (or maybe external speakers) more often. However, I don't consider either of these to detract from my ability to use the laptop for all its necessary functions, and I expect to lose some of the bells and whistles when I buy a mid-price laptop, so I'm still giving five stars.

UPDATE: Less than 48 hours after first turning on this laptop, I am getting a boot failure screen indicative of hard drive failure. After an hour on the phone with tech support I am being instructed to send it to a service center (I pay for shipping and the box). Since it's still under warranty the actual fix is at no cost, but I am still going to be without my new laptop for weeks while they fix the problem. This is my first Asus product and is likely to be the last the way things are going. I really liked the laptop while it was working but 48 hours to hard drive failure is ridiculous.

UPDATE #2: On the suggestion of a friend I took it to Best Buy before mailing it in. The guy opened it up and the hard drive wasn't connected to the rest of the laptop. For whatever reason, there weren't any screws holding it in place. He found some screws, put it all together and made it stay together, and now it's fine. I'm glad it was such an easy fix, but I'm taking a star off my original review for Asus selling laptops that are apparently not put together well.

Before this computer I had a Dell Studio 1537. It worked, but not as well as this thing. My main reason for upgrade was because my last computer could not run a DJ software (Traktor 4TRAK edition) and the DJ controller itself (Numark 4TRAK) without freezing. This laptop met all of my must haves. It has a good processor, great RAM, backlit keyboard and more.

I mainly use my computer for web browsing, listening to music, and producing and mixing music. This machine gets the job done with ease. There's rarely any sign it's having a hard time processing my request. I first want to list a few of the things I love about this computer:

Chicklet keys (like a Mac!)

Speed of the computer

Comes with bluetooth capabilities

Matte screen (really keeps those finger prints at bay)

Cool to the touch (doesn't get hot at all compared to my old Dell, and it will be even cooler after I install my Samsung 840 SSD.

Touchpads abilities (works like Macbook controllers ex/ two finger tap=right click, two fingers to scroll, and three fingers down to view desktop)

Design (I think this computer looks like a Macbook, it's very sexy, I just hope to God it doesn't scratch easily)

Windows 7 (so glad I didn't get stuck with another awful Vista and I didn't have to go up to Windows 8 which I've heard terrible things about

Starts up quick (comes back from sleep instantly)

I love this computer so far but I'd like to list the things that bug me about it:

Problems:

Bloatware (everyone complains about it, this thing has its fair share, but really only takes about 30 mins-hour to get it all off)

Touchpad(everyone who uses this thing complains about touching the touch pad while typing. I'm having a very hard time not moving the mouse while using it, and I can't seem to find a program that disables the touchpad completely while typing)

HDD (doesn't have an SSD. I purchased a Samsung 840 to put in this thing but couldn't figure out for the life of me how to install Windows on it. I even tried burning an .iso of Windows 7 and booting it up off of that but kept coming back with a "drivers not found". I ordered a SATA cable and will clone the HDD to the SSD. I may update how that goes and comment on the speed of the system if I can get it running properly)

Touchpad continued... this thing drives me absolutely nuts. I can't stand clicking by actually pressing the pad, I need to tap it. The pad is so hard to press down. It feels as though I've broken it in a little but it's still too firm for me.

Overall I can't dock any stars, this machine does everything I need and want it to do and more. I will continue to update this review as I use the computer more and more. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a notebook with an ultrabook look.

Update: I installed my Samsung MZ-7TD250BW 840 Series Solid State Drive (SSD) 250 GB Sata 2.5-Inch into my Asus U47A and it is much much faster!! From a cold boot I am able to see the desktop at 18 seconds and the desktop and all of the services and background apps are loaded by 25 seconds. Not only is the boot time faster but also the time it takes to launch programs... it's almost instant. My internet also feels faster, not sure if that's from the SSD but I don't think it hurts. Before installing the Samsung 840 I need to purchase Vantec CB-ISATAU2 SATA/IDE to USB 2.0 Adapter Supports 2.5-Inch, 3.5-Inch, 5.25-Inch Hard Disk Drives (Black) and used the Samsung data migration software and was able to clone the Asus U47A hard drive (so Windows 7 would launch) and it worked flawlessly.

Very happy with all of my purchases. Would recommend everything listed, especially the Asus U47A.

The sticker on the computer itself says 750GB HDD. Came with two separate hard drives, a 254GB (209 w/ OS) and a 419GB (Empty) drive that total to 673GB. This is well below the advertised capacity.

I was pleased that the computer ran so quickly when it first came but it has quickly become sluggish and slow to boot up.

A wireless mouse is a must with this laptop. Absolute worst trackpad I've used in my life. The keyboard is very nice and comparable to my Macbook Pro in quality.

I bought this for schoolwork (engineering) and it fulfills that task adequately, but I will be sticking to my 2012 MacBook Pro for everyday computer use.

I received my notebook in a few days from the seller and was still a bit apprehensive to open the box as I had read some unflattering reviews about this product. I had just come off a bad experience with another brand of notebook having to send that one back. I finally got the courage to open this one and got it set up, burning the back up discs, etc... I went on Internet Explorer and it didn't connect. Great... I used the diagnostics and got it to connect but then it disconnected. Hmmm... I went to the control panel and looked it over and saw the Intel PROSet/Wireless tools icon. Clicked on it and used their dignostic tool. It told me the radio wasn't on and instructed exactly what to do. In short, if you click on the arrow on the lower right of the taskbar and then click on the blue antennae with signals coming out of it, click on WLAN, that turns on your wi-fi and you don't have to mess with it any longer. I guess the Wireless Console 3 does serve a purpose other than being there to be uninstalled. Internet speed is fast with no buffering on Youtube, etc... I have no problems with my USB ports even after updating. Boots up fully in about 45 seconds. I guess if I took some programs out and messed with startup programs it could boot up faster but I'm happy with it. Trackpad is sensitive but with any other touchpad device it has to be calibrated or adjusted. I really am happy that I purchased this notebook.

The laptop is nice looking. I like the back-lit keyboard. It seems plenty quick but then the problems start.

The wifi connection kept turning off. The only way I could restore it was to let the windows troubleshooter fix it. It would tell me that the wifi is not enabled. What? I enabled it five minutes ago, using the same troubleshooter application! I look into it further and the problem is with "wireless console 3" which is an asus add-on bloatware. I mess around with it and I think its stabilized. For now anyway.

The touchpad is too big. There is no way I can type on this thing without brushing up against it and moving my cursor around everywhere. If I'm not careful I'll end up messing with the entire screen, zooming in or out etc. The only way, really, is to hold my wrists up and out from the center of the keyboard. Not comfortable at all.

I'll continue to work with it and see if its something I need to get the hang of. If not then I am going to try and return it.

The programs run fine, and the computer is fairly fast. But I returned the laptop because it was poorly put together. Within one week of purchase, the touchpad stopped working. Even the technical support team at Staples couldn't repair the problem. (Pushing the function keys did nothing). So I exchanged the laptop for the same model, thinking I had a defective computer. Four days later, the keypad on the new laptop was warped and the keys loose. In addition, the mouse would occasionally freeze. I researched reviews for this laptop on other websites, and several other customers had the same complaint about the mouse and the poor quality of the assemblage. Again, the programming works great accept for the pointer device. It's the assemblage that's poor. I recommend investing in a different brand.

I have this lappy and am pretty satisfied with it. For the price, it's a very good laptop. It's a budget laptop but would satisfy most casual users' needs (heavy gamers need not apply). Let's face it, the majority of people use their laptops for internet, media watching, and other usual programs. I'm one of those people and satisfied with this lappy's performance. According to CNet, its Intel Pentium B980 2.4GHz is on par with the performance of the i3 chip. It's light and has all the usual features, what's not to like, esp. for the price.

Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with this laptop. My other laptop is fancier and better-built, but then again, that 17" Sony Vaio cost me over $1000 couple years ago. Anyway, you can't go wrong with this if you're looking for a budget laptop.

This Toshiba-C855-S5350 has been the worst laptop that I have ever purchased. It was bought in November, 2012 and bit the dust in July, 2013. I sent the laptop to Toshiba for repair because it is still within Toshiba's one year warranty. For Toshiba to diagnose the problem, it cost me $131.00. The following week I received an email telling me that the cost for the repair would be $481.00. The customer service rep would not discuss the warranty because he told me that they are the repair company that Toshiba uses. That they are not in any other way connected to Toshiba. I spoke with a Toshiba rep, and was told that the repair would not be covered by the warranty. That was it, as far as Toshiba was concerned, end of discussion.

Have found that the Toshiba computers are very reliable and easy to use. I have owned over five Toshibas and will continue to purchase them. This model has a great look. The touch pad is not overly sensitive as to move the mouse while you are typing and with the textured construction it seems easier to use. Windows 8 took some time to figure out. Am very impressed with the quietness of the computer fan and the length of the battery life. Calculated the battery life between 4 1/2 5 hrs. Overall a great computer for my use. And the price beat most laptop with the similar quality.

6gb RAM with a decent intel dual core processor, (it's no i5), but it certainly gets the job done for the average computer user. Tons of hard drive storage and easily capable of running multiple programs, applications, while downloading and listening to music. The touchpad has no scrollbar, which is a little less convenient, but I use a mouse half the time anyway. For the price there are really no comparable products.

Personally i am not a big fan of the new Windows 8 home-screen, i much prefer the old desktop style setup. The actual operating system is quality, but it seems like it would be more user friendly with a touch screen computer, which this particular laptop is not.

If you compare the specs of this laptop with others of the same price range, you will find that this one is outstanding. Fast latest generation processor, and impressive 1TB hard drive, 8GB memory, the Discrete NVIDIA graphics, backlit keyboard, Blu-ray drive etc are all good.

What this lacks is two things.

1) A really pathetic webcam: Unless your face is illuminated with direct sunlight, all you will see is some dark shadows on the the screen when the webcam is used. It is impossible to use this webcam if you use it indoors for a video chat. This is with all the defaults settings. If you adjust the "Exposure" setting for the webcam, if will become brighter but then the motion blur on the video causes it to be unusable again. I went to a local costco and compared the units there too and see that this is a problem with the dv6-t model from HP. I saw another dv4-t model which was having a good webcam. ( which was sitting right next to the dv6t, so the lighting is not any different between both ) .

2) Another annoying thing is that the LCD is having a bluish tint. So the colors were all different than what it really is. This is a problem if you use if for some photo/video editing. You may be able to do some color calibration and get what you want, but having payed close to 1000 bucks, I would expect HP put some effort into creating a color profile for the display which is actually good enough for most users to use with.

In short I bought this with great expectations form hp's shopping site, but ended un in returning it 3 days after I got it delivered.

I bought this computer a year ago because I needed a pc that could handle my entertainment needs and work. I even got a few memory upgrades so that it could handle everything I do. At first this computer worked great and I was really happy with it. A month after receiving it the display got these horrible horizontal lines across it. I sent it in for repair and then it worked fine. Two months later, I got the same problem. Lines all across the screen. So I called HP's repair service and sent it in, they fixed it and sent it back. 4 months after that the lines appeared again. and I had to send it in for a third repair. The problem still isn't fixed because they showed up again.

Now, my computer refuses to read an external drive. I have a Hirachi external drive, brand new, and whenever I try to open files on it, my HP computer freezes up and then the screen goes blank. HP repair because since they have failed to solve the screen problem how can I expect them to solve this. I spent $1100 on my HP and feel I wasted my money.

I ended up buying a low end Toshiba 6 months ago and thus far it has worked far better than this computer. Hp still refuses to change out my computer or refund my money despite the fact that it is still under warranty. I have done system recoveries and virus scans. Nothing has worked. Basically, I feel cheated. Do not buy. I do not recommend and will not be buying HP again.

I purchased this laptop for my work where temporarily big processing power is needed for simulations 1-10 seconds long. I also record sound and measure microphones, speakers and various audio gadgets. Thus I need QUIET laptop, with rather steady audible noise level during medium intensity tasks. The worst laptop I had in the past used to be reasonable quiet for a while, then suddenly it would starts producing loud audible noise.

My previous laptops generally seemed to generate too much heat and produced too much associated audible noise. So I put newly purchased laptop to testing for power consumption and audible noise. Results were so good that I put two additional computers to testing. I attach here a short summary comparison for three computers working with similar display brightness. Monitor power 40W is included in Desktop numbers. I plan to check later electrosmog a few mm above keyboard, with Magnetic Field, Electric Field meters. With Keyboard Backlit = ON and OFF. Meter does not show any power consumed when Laptop = OFF, with AC/DC Power Adapter attached.

Power Consumption for this laptop is really low, I am happy with it. Audible Noise could be improved, but it is acceptable to me.

AC Adapters for this laptop are rated 120W and 90W, indicating much greater power consumption under certain extreme conditions.

I did not wanted to jump into the windows 8 bandwagon to be disappointed like the Vista fiasco. I love my new Pavilion with Windows 7 all the way. Coming from Windows "Workhorse" XP, I'm still learning the W7 runarounds of its features and folders managements. I am very happy with my purchase since I don't follow the crowd for new operating system that won't fully support my legacy softwares (I've got tons of them even Musicmatch from v6-v8,2, Nero from v6 to v10, Roxio from Adaptec v5 to Roxio10, Chessmaster 7000, Pacman, Frogger,Etc....All original purchased), Would they work flawlessly with windows8? I don't think so! So why get yourself frustrated willingly? Any new operating system that has no regards for your past purchased soft-wares and makes you buy them all over (if can they be repurchased) has no sympathy or support from me. I love technology, new gadgets but not W8, That's why I'm super glad I could buy the top of the line HP dv6t-7000 while they still had them available and Microsoft won't force me to buy W8. I heartily recommend this product!

Cheap Dell Latitude D630 14.1-Inch Notebook

I've had a Dell Latitude D630 for almost 2 years now and there's one key feature that needs to be pointed out first. It's solid. Although I've never dropped it, it has been through a lot. It's very difficult to warp the LCD screen by applying pressure to the back of the display, and the screen is recessed a fair bit from the outside edges. I've seen quite a few people crack their screens but you'd have to try pretty hard to break this one. At first glance it appears thin, plastic, and flimsy; but when you pick it up and hold it you can tell there is a strong network of metal bracings underneath the surface.

When I bought mine brand new from Dell, quite a few technical things went wrong. First the touchpad never worked well out of the box. It skips, freezes and stops working intermittently. I understand this is a big problem with Dell laptops. The other joystick style mouse works well, but after a year started occasionally drifting to the top right of my screen at slow speed so I had to disable it. I usually use an external mouse anyway. After having the laptop for about a year, a section of the motherboard fried and the computer kept giving me video driver errors, but after I called Dell they politely came to my home and swapped the defective part free of charge. I play my fair share of PC games and this thing gets hot. Sometimes the bottom of the laptop will become uncomfortable to set on your thighs so I'm not surprised the board burned out. It's important to note that this machine only gets hot when it's running a video game. It usually runs at normal temperatures doing everything else. I invested in a fan cooling pad which does a good job keeping it cool.

Other than the mouse and heat issues, it's a good machine. It's a nicely sized laptop as well. Personally I feel like it's not too big or too small.

UPDATE April 20, 2012:

Even though nobody is probably still buying these machines, I'd like to report on my D630 almost three years after my original review was written.

It has been almost five years with the D630 and it's still functioning, of course not as well. The cooling fan is not as strong as it used to be, and the machine gets pretty hot when running multiple programs or playing video (years of dust accumulation probably affects the heat sink's ability to transfer heat to some degree, no pun intended). Lucky for me I don't play video games any longer, as I now see them as a waste of time, so that will no doubt lessen the damaging impact to my hardware. Right now with only Firefox open the machine is a normal temperature. The wireless card periodically stops working and I must disable and re-enable it to get it to work again. Some of the keyboard keys have become very sensitive probably due to debris underneath, but all are still registering. The touchpad still occasionally acts up by sometimes not detecting my finger in a specific area toward the center of the pad causing my pointer to leap as I cross over it, but for some odd reason flicking it a few times gets it to work properly again, and other times it goes completely unresponsive until I restart the computer. The pointing stick stopped tracking slowly across my screen and has become fully functional, albeit awkward to use. The original battery has died and I'm currently on my second. Dell let me keep a brand new optical drive after they misdiagnosed a hardware issue (DVD drive failed to detect discs) that turned out to be another fried motherboard making it twice I've had the motherboard swapped under warranty, so my DVD drive still works flawlessly. Hopefully it won't happen again since the warranty expired almost two year ago; the original warranty being three years covering everything but the battery and LCD display. The screen is still very clear with no dead pixels.

Not much else to report besides the system's performance benefited from a OS reinstallation. A comment below mentions bluescreens, but I think bluescreens are more due to badly written software than the machine itself.

The Dell D630 is a remarkable machine. I work for a university that is replacing older model laptops with the D630. This laptop was given to me for testing purposes and I must say I enjoy the features and durability it has provided me.

The hardware is more than adequate for the needs of our students. The Core 2 Duo processor isn't top of the line but will run most operating systems flawlessly. I tested this one with Windows XP, Windows Vista and am presently running OpenSuSe 11.1. The machine I am using comes with 2 Gigs of ram but can be upgraded to 4 gig. The only time I notice any ram issues is when I am doing video intensive work while the 3D desktop in SuSe is turned on. The resolution only maxes out at 1440X900, but the clarity of the LCD screen more than compensates for that. The 4 USB ports are also a nice addition to the machine. There are other Dell Latitude's I've experienced that only provide two ports.

The durability of this machine is more than one would expect from a Dell product. With previous Dell laptops I easily pop keys off and have even cracked a screen by dropping only 10 inches. The D630 has given me a new found hope of the durability of Dell laptops. I have knocked it off the table without any issue. I have left it in my vehicle overnight (-10 degrees) and it was just fine. My children have used and abused this laptop. All it seems to require is a nice wipe down and it looks as nice as the day the machine was given to me.

The only things I would like to see improved on is a SD-card reader built in. Maybe a little better speaker set. I believe there is only one speaker built into this machine. There is no S-video port on this machine. With previous Dell's in my possession, there have always been S-video and I have become acclimated to having one on my machine. The D630 also appears to be a little heavier than what I am use to using. I don't mind lugging my laptop around but I other people I talk with say they would never carry anything that heavy with them for work. (mac)

I bought this laptop directly from dell Financial Services auction on ebay. I did not even know that they have it here on Amazon Marketplace too. Even though the description said manufacturer refurbished the laptop I received looked like new. It came with power adapter and a Dell Windows XP Reinstallation CD and built in Intel PROSet Wireless Card. Absolutely no bloatware is included.

Now this may not be a top of the line machine but it is pretty adequate for home and school or even Small Home Office use. The neat part is that once you boot up the machine for the first time it would automatically install Windows XP after going through some preliminary steps. It even gives you option to enter setup and configure things but you are better off leaving the machine alone to do its thing and install windows XP or whichever operating system it is bundled with unless you're techie. Once windows finishes installation you can pretty much install anything you want. I have so far installed Open Office, MS Office 2003, Firefox, Chrome, Avast Anti Virus, Trusteer Rapport security Software and many other productivity softwares and the machine boots up and runs smoothly.

It does not come with webcam so I installed Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 and Microsoft Lifecam Cinema and either camera runs smoothly even on HD modes. I use Lifecam Cinema more often because it's stand is perfect fit for D630 bezel as opposed to the Quickcam Pro 9000's stand which tend to wobble.

I will advise you buy this laptop directly from Dell either here on Amazon Marketplace or on ebay where it is listed under Dell_Financial_Services. You will likely receive a laptop that will be like new but more importantly you will get 30 days warranty.

This laptop is of right price, size and specs: 14" bright LCD, 2GB Ram, 80GB harddisk space and 2GHZ Intel Dual Core processor that is more than adequate for most home, school and or Small Home Office use. It is sturdy and sleek looking too.

There is one thing that Dell scrimped on here: the tiny single speaker that is barely audible! I use an external Frisby USB laptop Speakers. I also use headphone when I am on the road. It is worthy to note that this tiny speaker belies a powerful sound card that only becomes apparent when you put on a headphone.

NB: Don't forget to switch on the wireless radio or you will not be able to use the wifi connection. The switch is on same side and next to the headphone jack. It is switched off by default. Once you switch it on it will detect a bunch of wifi hot spots including yours, if any. Select your SSID from the displayed options and enter your router's WEP Key and you will be good to go. I have at&t 2WIRE Wireless Gateway and the WEP Key is the ten digit number directly below the serial number located on the side or bottom of the router depending on whether it is standing vertically or lying on it's side. The built in wireless card is powerful. I highly recommend this laptop to anyone who may be on budget but not willing to compromise on quality and performance.

Laptop functions are average but this is probably my favorite Dell laptop. I'm not a Dell fan but knew this D630 model has great up time. Most users have them for years without issues and need a work horse that is reliable.

1) Very easy to upgrade, up to the Intel T7800 processor, original was T7100.

2) The model I have has the Intel integrated video. There are other D630 that have the Nvidia option, not for me. Nvidia has serious GPU issues with heat, conventional cooling methods don't work and in a year or so, some sooner will fail. Having the Intel GM965 is much better for this machine.

3) RAM is a surprise, I put 4gigs of DDR2 and it worked. Now I am looking at the Intel Turbo Cache module which goes in to one of the two mini PCI-e slots inside, also easy to access.

4) The last thing is the display option is selectable to higher resolution; mine is 1280x800 but if you got the money go to 1440x900. Since the display is 14.1 inch the 1280x800 is optimal for me.

My hobby is to fix these laptops for family and friends; yes I took community college courses to help with the technical learning curve. Seen many bad laptop designs which are hard to work on. D630 is by far the easiest one to maintain and upgrade. Highly recommend this model for everyday use. The Intel Core 2 Duo is still a relevant processor today, as good as the i3 or AMD mobile dual core.

I bought this laptop because I needed a laptop to carry around with me to work and school. My regular laptop was expensive, very bulky, and felt a bit flimsy, and I wanted something a bit more durable that I wouldn't have to worry about breaking, but that was still a workhorse. I work at a computer repair shop at my university, and we take in a lot of laptops. Of all of the laptops we work on, I found the D630 to be one of the easiest to maintenance. When I was looking for a work laptop, I wanted a business laptop that could handle the tasks I needed it to accomplish and was easy to repair if need be, but was still within my limited college student budget. I searched around for a while, and a refurbished D630 for about $300 was what I came up with. Everything else was either overpriced or unimpressive and old. I decided to take the risk of getting a refurbished laptop for so cheap, and I am extremely satisfied.

When I got the computer it came pre-installed with XP pro, and I decided to set up a dual boot with Ubuntu. Ubuntu installed extremely easily and all of the drivers were ready to go right away. The computer has had no trouble doing anything I set it to so far, and has exceeded my expectations. I learned that some of these machines had video card problems in which the video card would overheat and cause screen splitting, but that is only with the models that have nVidia GPUs. As long as you choose to purchase one with an Intel GPU that recall issue is not a problem.

As far as how the laptop functions and works with the user, I am very impressed. The keys feel very ergonomic and natural when typing, and the area where you rest your palms is a very comfortable texture and size. The touchpad is easy to use and allows your finger to slide along it without much difficult, unlike some laptops on which the touchpad grips your finger and makes using it more of a hassle. A lot of laptops also are made of very cheap, easy-to-break plastics and feel very flimsy, but the D630 feels more rugged and durable with its magnesium casing. I can't say anything about the battery life because my D630 came with an old battery, a risk I took when buying a refurbished laptop. I've only heard good things about how long they last when not plugged in, however, and am buying a new battery as soon as possible. The 2 GHz Intel dual core processor works very smoothly and efficiently, and with 2 GB of RAM most applications run smoothly. Overall, I am very satisfied with this laptop and feel like it is an underrated machine, and I would definitely recommend it for anyone who needs an inexpensive laptop.

It has vga out but no svideo or hdmi out, other than that its great.

I've had this about one month now and so far not one issue. Compared to the last Compaq I bought this thing is way better. It seems that Compaq has learned about it pervious errors in making "introductory" laptops and corrected their mistakes. It has better quality parts than what compaq was using four years ago in its presario laptops. For example, the keyboard has keys that actually come off and go back on easily; and the machine is much more modular so taking user serviceable parts out and replacing them is easy (again keyboard is a good example, it requires only removing the battery and three screws which are aptly labled with a litte picture of a keyboard).

It seems like more thought went into this product than previous presarios. Its 4GB and dual core processor make running vista a reality. Putting vista64bit on it gives me a leg up because I actually have some 64bit apps to run on it, the most aggressive being the Oracle database. Screen is nice, keyboard is nice, touchpad works well, cdrom responds quickly when given a disc, the 8200m geforce video means I can actually run all but the most recent of games which is one of my requirements, 250gb disk lets me load lots of those games, and store lots of data in my database.

Again about the only thing I am sorry about is that it has no HDMI port and so I cannot hook up a hdmi monitor as a second monitor. It does have a vga out port so I can hook up a monitor that accepts vga input.

For the price I paid there is no way I will find anything better. Shop around, the price on this varies considerably, especially if you can find a special at a chain store. At the price I paid, I wish I could get another three for the family, but they sold out in one day all across my state. In my mind unless a person is a major gamer who has to play the most recent games, or has some special need, this laptop is more power than you can want. It will do all the basics great (internet, office toolset, email, even run a large database how bout that).

Lastly, sevice is good. My daughter's cat peed on the keyboard and shorted out a couple of keys. It took 40 minutes, but HP agreed to ship me a new keyboard for 70$ which I replaced easily rather than having to send it in for repair which would cost a minimum of 200$. Here is a recap:

1) dual cpu and 4gb make vista runnable and snappy

2) 8200m geforce video makes gaming possible for most gamers

3) inexpensive, but not junk, parts feel like quality

4) screen is nice sized with good picture at its highest resolution

5) 250gb disk gives plenty of space

5) has no problems like prior presarios (no overheating, no lost keys, no slow cpu, no dead pixels)

6) HP service came through for me and let me save 130$

** only negative is it that though it has a vga out port, it lacks a hdmi out port

This computer I bought new for $400 on Feb. 15th 2009. Compared to my almost two year old HP desktop with 32 bit Vista, this seems flawless. This laptop does not come with a lot of periferal connectivity (but its a laptop), you can't expand the ram (but it already has 4 Gigs) and only has a so-so graphics card (like all packaged HPs) but who cares? This machine is extremely durable. Despite what others might say about it running apps slowly, they don't know how to manage their OS. This machine can run any application, including Adobe Creative Suite apps well. Sure, it's not the fastest thing on the market, but it's a 2.0 dual core CPU, it's a great deal, and for any student/office person trying to save money while still getting things done, it's a great buy. The hardware holds up great, and don't let others tell you it's slow because of how they treat their OS.

This is a great laptop, solid, easy to use, I like that it locks when closed. I didn't find it to be slow as others have said. The keyboard keys are slightly raised, which I liked. The only minor things I didn't like was no numbers pad, so I had to use the numbers across the top, it's a very HEAVY laptop, but worst of all, the battery life was really bad. Two hours max, and it wasn't just my battery, I ordered a backup and it was the same way.

The laptop works okay. It is a little slow and the display fonts are very small. Was able to enlarge them some. Since it is an older laptop you can't expect "like new" and you don't get it. For what I purchased it for which was occasional travel use for a particular purpose, it works fine. Arrived well packaged and you get what you pay for.

Note: My company gave me this laptop for work purposes. I've used it for over a month now. I didn't pay for it, so don't know what the cost of this laptop is elsewhere on the internet or in stores.

Build: Looks like a good sturdy laptop for office use. Durability wise, no problems so far.

It does feel heavy for it's size though. It is ugly because it's a "business class" product and not a home or a media class product. The screen size is thicker than other laptops that you get today.

Configuration & Performance: Mine came with a Core 2 Duo, and 4 GB ram. Shipped with Windows 7 professional. So far it has handled whatever I've thrown at it quite well. I've tried a couple of videos on it, the speakers are alright. I've used it for running Visual Studio (2010) and Eclipse (Helios) and it's handled both really well. The boot up time feels a little high for the configuration, but it's not too bad.

Noise: The fans are extremely silent and not just on power save mode. I haven't heard a peep out of this laptop so far. I'm really weird about the noise factor and I have to say so far this laptop has fared well in that department. The hard drive is dead silent (as it should be!).

Keyboard & Pointer devices: The keyboard just sucks. The keys are way too soft so you don't get the feel of pressing them. Yet, they make that typing sound. Just weird. The touch-pad isn't responsive enough even after a lot of tweaking with the dell software. Neither is the pointer in between the keyboard. In fact the pointer is so weird, it registers a left click when you accidentally touch it while typing. That's really annoying when you're trying to get work done! Overall, the keyboard, the touch-pad, the pointer seem very cheap and flimsy. The behavior is erratic and I don't think it's a software issue.

Display: The brightness is fine. The "auto-brightness" is nonsense. The laptop has a light sensor which adjusts the brightness level depending on ambient light. It just doesn't work. As much as someone's shadow standing over your shoulder messes it up to a huge extent. At times there is no change in light and it still flickers. I've just turned it off. The max-brightness is bright enough for work in direct sunlight. Overall, the display is ok. Nothing to brag about, but nothing really big to complaint about either.

Adapter etc: The power brick is nice and thin and the cord has a power indicator on the tip that connects to the laptop. The problem is it stays on even when not connected to the laptop, but I guess they designed it that way so you'd know. The LEDs on the laptop aren't very bright. BUT, I find the HDD light rather annoying. It keeps flickering way too much indicating heavy disk activity even when it's just idling. This indicator shouldn't even be there IMHO. It's pointless.

One thing I like is the ability to stop the battery from charging so you can leave the laptop constantly plugged in when you want without worrying that it'll reduce the overall battery life.

Conclusion: Ok, if you want something to work with occasionally. It's not very comfortable to carry around. You might want to get a mouse and keyboard to use with this thing. I'd say this laptop is worth 500$ given what I've seen so far.

Our school purchased a Latitude laptop for every teacher in our school this year. They are very useful if you are looking for a paper weight or need to flatten out student paintings from art class. Otherwise, they are useless. All of them crash at least once a day, and I mean with the ominous blue screen featuring the ominous fatal error message. Several crash in lieu of a screen saver-students come in for a class, you teach for an hour and return to the computer to complete you work and, Voila!, the lover blue screened fatal error message. This has happened this morning six times already and it is only 10:26 am. I recommend you spend your money elsewhere, Perhaps in decorative paper weights with the blue bird of happiness instead of this lap top with the blue screen of despair.

I was given this laptop by the school and I want to say that this laptop is absolutely horrible for its intended purposes.

It is flimsy and cheap. The back light is a constant issue and it heats up at the drop of a pin.

The fan spits out plastic after too long of a usage.

Requires constant restarts due to "internal issues"

The keys fall off.

The whole thing is loosely screwed together, leaving the screws to loosen and fall out.

It crashes and or freezes with light knocks (i. e. putting my books on my desk when the computer is out)

I am currently using this laptop to write this review but I would prefer anything over this... thing. In other words, this product is a no go. Get yourself the HP Pavilion dm4-3170se 14-Inch Laptop (Black) or the Lenovo 14" Core i5 500GB HDD 4GB DDR3 Ultrabook. They are cheaper for the value and more funtional. Summary: Don't. Buy.

It also contains 4 usb slots, bluetooth, 14.1 inch wxga lcd screen, 6lbs body weight, interchangeble cd drive to put hdd or other items in the cd-rw slot. also hd speakers capible of reaching 24,bit 192000 hz studio quality sound. s video port for tv, i 1394 port. vga port for external lcd. ethernet and modem port, headphone & mic port. the original battery lasts me 4 hrs on full use using windows 7 pro. my E5400 has been with me a whole year since i have owned this laptop and it has never let me down ever. i even went camping with it and traveled with it also, and my friends always expect for my laptop to die out on me and never has it crashed or physically broken or nothin. the body on this laptop isnt ugly it's called having a secure strong body frame built to last, i'm constantly using this latitude for work and home and it still runs smooth as from day one. people who have a school version, don't assume the pc itself is crap because it's not. on this type of computer the bad work is not on the physical parts of the laptop its the software that runs it. most of the time schools or education places purchase this model of computer because it was designed for easy (IT) networking, meaning that the pc can be controlled and maintained by some lazy fat guy sitting behind a desk and work on it. In my opinion this pc is for the feint hearted and people who are ready to physical demand on the pc. I've had my A6025 for 3 years, adding 3 extra gigs of RAM, which makes it super fast. Nothing else. No crashes, no freezes. Very secure and practical due to the biometric fingerprint reader. Dropped it a few times, no major damage other than minor scrapes. The HDD protector kicks in disabling the reader to protect the Hard drive. Bought an HP D7V, a Sony VAIO, a Toshiba, and none could even come close to the build, features and sturdiness of this laptop.

I bought my fujitsu A6025 in 2007 so I'm not sure if this is the same model. Nevertheless, it had so many problems from the start. First, my battery died shortly after one year, and I almost always had my laptop plugged in. The only time I would unplug was to transport it from one place to another. Once the battery died, my laptop would last 7 minutes before it would automatically shut off. Secondly, it seemed to have a lot of gliches in it's system. Often times the screen would blink while I was surfing the web or using Microsoft Office. Lastly, after about 3 years, I started getting kicked off the internet frequently. It was very frustrating. The other laptops in my home were fine so I know it was this one. I finally contacted tech support and they had me download a software to prevent that. I still got kicked off for about a month after that, but eventually it stopped. Not sure why that was... But after enduring this laptop for 5 years, I'm finally getting a new one, and it's not going to be fujitsu.

I'm very happy with this machine. Fast, light, solid build, good-looking, great screen, comfortable back-lit keyboard. About identical in size and weight to a 13-inch Macbook, but with a 14" screen. Screen resolution is 1600 x 900, equivalent to Macbook and a step up from the 1366 x 768 standard on a lot of Windows laptops. (Sony touts its "full HD" 1920 x 1080 displays, but I found it made screen objects just too small. This is a happy medium.) It's quiet: the fan hardly ever comes on, and when it does it's not too loud. Good battery life: 5 to 6 hours easily without even going to the "max" power-saving scheme.

I have no real complaints, only a couple of wishes. More USB ports -it has one 2.0 and one 3.0 (although personally I've never needed more); a Blu-ray drive; a Core i7 option.

I bought this after returning a 15.5" Sony Vaio S-series, which had a flimsy, wobbly screen with the aforementioned "Full HD", an annoying off-center touchpad, and a form factor that was just too big and wide. I'm much happier with the Samsung.

One recommendation: whichever power-management scheme you use, edit it so that the wireless card is set to "Maximum Performance" when unplugged -the default slows wireless to a crawl in order to save a little juice. (If you see Samsung dinged on forums for slow wireless, that's why, and it's an easy adjustment that completely resolves the issue.)

Update 7/9/12: I'm still very happy with it. No changes to my earlier comments. Some people complain about the touchpad, it is very sensitive by default, but I lowered the sensitivity using the control panel and now it rarely misinterprets random thumb or palm touches as taps.

The pictures for this product are for the 15.6" version and are NOT of the 14" version. The 14" version does not have the number pad on the keyboard. The 14" has one USB 3.0 port and one USB 2.0 port on the left side. There are no USB ports on the right side.

Overall I REALLY like this laptop. It is plenty fast, has a higher resolution display than most of its competitors, is very portable, and is well built. I am a big fan of matte laptop displays and Samsung does not disappoint on this device. I find the keyboard on this laptop to be easier to type on than most others I have tried, especially the Asus G51VX I am coming from. Unibody construction would be nice, but given the price point and the hardware this contains I can overlook it. The track pad is very large. If I'm not careful I can hit it with my left wrist while typing. I'm 6'2" and have large wrists though, it may not be an issue for everyone. This isn't a big issue for me since I typically disable the track pad and use a mouse anyways. If you're in the market for a lighter, very portable, but yet powerful laptop: I highly recommend the Series 7 14".

After having my Sony Vaio SA2 stolen I was forced into purchasing a new laptop. The things I loved about the Vaio were: dedicated graphics card, battery life, weight, hdmi output,backlit keyboard,screen resolution 1600x900, and appearance.

However there were some things that I didn't like; build, materials, noisy fan, and slow hard drive speed. So sense I had to buy a new laptop I wanted to make sure to address some of the issues I had with the Vaio, but maintain the things that I did like about it as well. Thus I came across the Samsung Series 7 NP700Z3A-S06US Laptop.

This Laptop addressed every single issue I had with the Vaio, its better built(screen is solid not flimsy like it was with the Vaio) has a bigger and faster hard drive(1TB, and 8gb of ssd),more ram(8gb vs 4gb on Vaio) and it maintained all the things I loved about the Vaio(speed, graphics card, backlit keyboard, screen resolution 1600x900, and size) .

The only very small, almost not worth mentioning difference, between the Samsung vs the Sony, was that the Sammy cost $150 dollars more, and it weighs about 1lb over the the Sony. Either way these minimalistic differences didn't stop me from making the switch and not looking back at my Vaio SA2

I also want to reinforce what the previous reviewer said, the picture that Amazon has is for the z5a and not the z3a. That being said if your looking for a well made, good looking, portable power house, BUY THIS LAPTOP!

the backlit keyboard is very nice, and the keyboard layout is easy to type with

CONS:

Only 2 USB, both on left side. The USB3 seems to give me issues, might be my driver.

Battery is NOT removable (as long as the battery-life works as intended, this shouldn't be a problem).

CD-Rom is NOT removable... i really not even need an optical drive

Weight is a little heavy, it's not bad.. but could be a little lighter

NOTE: If you do a clean install of windows, like i did, be sure to get the WIFI drivers from the Intel website (not from Samsung). I spend hours trying to figure out way my WIFI would not stay connected in Windows 7 64. Once I installed Intel's drivers (which claim to be an older version) it worked flawlessly.

For $1K, I'm pretty happy. The only comparable light/powerful laptop that met my RAM requirements was from Sony at about $2K.

What I like:

Screen is bright enough I usually just leave it at minimum brightness and it is suffice

Webcam is decent-not amazing but better than my prior computer

Speakers are great-you get a lot of sound at a relatively low setting

Not too heavy

The screen isn't flimsy, after I got it I had to open my old computer for something and it felt so flimsy compared to the Samsung

The machine loads fast (although for the first week after I got it I would've said differently but after some updates that was fixed)

What I don't like as much:

The vent-it's in the hinges where screen meets machine so it can get hot but more so on the top so as long as you have some heat tolerance and don't go sticking your hand above the vent you'll be fine

It came with Skype installed but it was the 32-bit version so I had to get rid of Skype and download it in the 64-bit version-took about 20 minutes to fix but 2 days to figure out

Things to know:

CD/DVD player is a slot you slide the disc into (I have no negative opinion on that)

1 USB 2.0 and 1 USB 3.0 (I would have liked there to be one more, but I can settle for two)

Microphone and headphone are combined into one hole for both

Mouse pad has clickers built into the pad-beware, the clickers only work if you click on the fourth of the mouse pad closest to you

If you think you can't adjust something try googling it, I've learned a lot through doing so-For example the machine comes and it will change screen brightness to compensate the amount of light coming through the light sensor, but you can disable that

Some of the bloat ware like Youcam (similar to photobooth on Mac) can be very useful, others like Mediasuite I have no use for and it may pop-up when working with song files rather than iTunes (which you'll have to download if you want)

Be sure to do updates! Otherwise you'll feel like you got robbed, but it moves swiftly as soon as the updates are on

Overall I have enjoyed this computer so unless I update (if I do I'll post the date I do so) I'd have to say it might be a bit overpriced (I got mine on sale though) but overall I am happy with mine. I would recommend this as a personal computer, if you're mainly doing work I think you'll find a better price that will fit your needs but I'd defiantly recommend this to a person who spends a good bit of time with their machine!

HP sent me a defective screen on my new HP laptop. I requested them to replace the computer and they asked me to take a quick-ship model at a higher price. In addition, I have to pay for it first at a higher price with lower specs!! I asked for the manager and they rejected me saying they are busy.

I have bought 4 HP Pavilions over the last 10 years and this is how they repay me. If there are no problems, I am sure HP is fine. The real problem is if there is something wrong and you are stuck with their customer support. After 10 years, I am going with another brand. I have also spent 80 minutes on the phone with no avail.

I have put a similar comment on their HP website. Do you know they exclude the 1-star and 2-star comments from the consumers?!?! Therefore, I thought it is only fair for the consumers to know. If there is something wrong and you have to deal with their customer support, you will literally get the short-end of the stick. Therefore, you should think twice before purchasing from HP.

I have wasted two days of my life dealing them and now I am investing a full-day going through all the HP e-commerce sites to let the consumers know. Good luck with your purchase with HP.....

Wanted to provide some positive feedback on the laptop. Overall, I am impressed with the laptop. Below is a pro/con summary. Hope this is helpful.

Pros:

Speed is impressive

Well built and looks great

Durable keyboard and the lighting feature is cool

Quiet fan

Excellent sound with or without headphones (external speakers could use more bass)

Cons:

Mouse pad takes some getting use to

Screen clarity could be better (compared to a Vaio.)

HP ENVY 14-2130NR Notebook PC GrayI bought an envy 14 in April 2011 for my son who was going to college, the screen went dead in less then a year, I personally shipped it back for repair under warranty. When I got it back and powered on and it did not boot. I then found out that the internal hard drive was gone. I could not boot the laptop, of course nor verify if hp fixed the screen. I'm no an expert about laptop, so I called hp again,, after two days of trying, A case manager finally talked to me, and yet he accused me that I took out the hd myself before I shipped the laptop to them. I did not even know before where the hd was on this laptop, and I also questioned him if I already had one, why would I need another INTERNAL hd for my envy? He said I could sell it. I was so pissed by accused of cheating $100 hard drive. I have 2 laptops and one desktop from hp in my house, I'm so sure that I won't buy any products from hp ever again.

Later, HP sent me a hard drive w/o charges, but no bracket and no screws (I don't have them because hp service removed the hd on machince), after one more shipping, I finally install the hd and after 3 hour of loading os and all the services. I shipped this laptop to my son in college, a couple of week, the screen started blinking again. No, they did not fix the original screen problem, now my son in college has to deal with them directly. No, I'll never buy another hp computers again.

Another update, another screwup, this time when the laptop came back, they did not return the charger cable my son told me. I would have given hp zero star if I could.

After 3 repairs, this same problem came back again. I wonder what kind of company hp is running?? I understand any products could have problems, I'm ok if they could fix the problem. but....., a $800 laptop used for less than 2 years?? and what laughable is, Envy is supposed to be a better line of products, hp was thinking they could use Envy line to compete with Apple MBP?? No more hp products for my family for sure.

This machine has a lot going for it. The SSD drive puts it ahead of most of the competition given the price. I've owned an Envy 15 in the past and I can tell most of the kinks were worked out.

My only two issues: Screen and Switchable graphics.

Screen I knew the Brightview screen had been criticized, but the resolution is the industry standard for this size laptop. Still, something better would make this laptop pop.

Switchable graphics I can't tell it's actually switching over as I've noticed some reduced frame rates compared to my older Envy 15.

All-in-all, I still haven't found anything that beats this Envy for the value it provides

I am writing this view as a consumer who was once very loyal to HP products. This HP Envy is my fifth HP laptop.

While none of my other HPs were perfect, I did appreciate HP's customer service. Of course this was not perfect either, but I'll start off with the good. The exterior design of this laptop is appealing to the eyes. I like to keep my laptop clean and in good condition so the chicklet keyboard is also a plus for me. However, these features are not enough as I need a reliable and working computer. I do like HP's customer service as compared to other companies.

In the past, when my old HP laptop malfunctioned, their technical support messed up really bad. Once a tech support from India was very hostile and even advised me to configure my computer incorrectly. In the end, it totally messed up my laptop and rendered it unusable. After several complaints they gave me a brand new laptop that was a newer model so it appeased me for a bit. HP should have all of my calls logged. I have spent too many hours with tech support, which has deterred me from calling them this time.

There are many negative things I could say, but I'll just share my biggest annoyances. I have had this HP for 2 weeks and already the volume stopped working. I tried plugging my head phones in. Didn't work. I tried different programs. Didn't work. I tried restarting my computer twice but to no avail. It's very frustrating. Why the Beats upgrade if the darn thing doesn't work properly with the other features? I may have gotten a bad product out of several functioning ones, but seeing as how my other HPs were messed up, this can't be simply chance. This has to be poor vision, design, staffing, and/or quality assurance.

The touchpad is also sub par, which might be a software issue with Synaptics. Sometimes it doesn't scroll and I have to wait a few minutes for the scroll to work again. This can be inefficient if you try to read documents/sites with multiple pages. I have tried tweaking the touchpad several different ways but the features are not efficient. There's also a huge gap on the right side of the touchpad, maybe because whoever put this together did not care about symmetry. Others may not care.

I care. And I care about efficiency, reliability, and going with a company that cares about the same thing.

Although I was reluctant to by another HP laptop because of my previous experiences, I wanted to give them a chance to redeem themselves. Failed attempt.

This laptop is good for everyday use with powerful enough cpu and 4gb memory. Edge is a good model from Lenovo, better than the low end models. At least this is a Thinkpad. For a little more than 500 bucks, I am ok with this model. This can be used for light games but not a real game machine though.

I've been buying Lenovo laptop computers for the past 15 years (back when they were called IBM's)! I specifically buy Lenovo's because their keyboards feel the most natural to me, I learned to "touch type" on an IBM Selectric typewriter in the 1980's, and the keyboards on Lenovo laptops always seem the easiest to type on to me.

The other reason I prefer Lenovo laptops (over all other brands currently on the market) is because they still offer the "TrackPointer" pointing device. It looks like a tiny eraser located between the G & H keys, but what it does is allow us touch-typists to move the mouse/cursor and click the left or right mouse buttons without ever taking our hands off the keyboard. All the other computers on the market require you to use the "track pad" or an external mouse, both of which require taking your hands off the keyboard. So, I'm very glad that Lenovo still offers the "eraser" pointing device, that allows me to type and move the mouse easily!

As for this particular model E520 laptop, I can say that I've owned one for about 6 months now and it works great. Looks more sleek & sexy than earlier Thinkpad laptops I've owned. Has plenty of ports (USB, HDMI, E-Sata, SD Card slot, etc), and the hard drive, RAM, Wireless N, etc all work just fine. Also, I've contacted Lenovo Tech support over the years with various questions, etc and have always found their English-Speaking, Atlanta based tech support to be very good overall. I'm planning to keep this laptop, and will continue to buy Lenovo products as long as their laptops still offer the Trackpoint pointing device!

Since I received this machine on August 2011, it was sent to repair to a Lenovo authorized dealer 3 times already, on Nov 28th. 2011 they replaced the mother board; on Dec 29th. 2011 they replaced the hard disk; on June 6th 2012 they replaced the motherboard again. The Lenovo warranty expired on Aug. 22th 2012. On Aug. 28th, it had a problem with the hard disk again and I paid to replace it because Lenovo refuses to extend the warranty. Now it is broken again and the problem is with the mother board that needs to be replaced again.

I spend more time fixing this unit than effectively using it. I am very unhappy with this purchase. I never had or heard some saying it was needed to replace a computer motherboard 3 times and hard disk twice in less than 12 months period.

I contacted Lenovo and asked them replace the machine; they claim they cannot because it was bought from a third party dealer and there is not they can do about.

I found other users complaining about the same problem and someone informed that model has a design problem. It has to do with a batch of faulty EEPROM chip used in the Edge series produced at the end of the 2011.

I would like to return this notebook and have the money back or exchange by another one that has the same features, but I have to accept the loss because Lenovo warranty cover only for 12 months period.

Bought this laptop in April 2012, a few months later the laptop would spontaneously shut down after a few minutes of use. After some investigation, I discovered that the fan was shutting off right after BIOS and the laptop was overheating.
