I'll get right to the point: It's very good! This is probably one of the best value laptops you'll find. The CPU is a A-6 architecture, which means that it combines a powerful CPU with a fairly powerful GPU. The coupling of these two together = great value.
Core Components:
*Looking at all of the individual components, the CPU is obviously a quad core @ 2.3Ghz, which equates to plenty of processing power more than enough for web browsing, HD playback and e-mail.
It's probably even good for light gaming.
*The GPU is PLENTY powerful for HD playback and is considerably future proof.
*The memory is clocked at a decent speed and 4gigabytes will be enough to last you a while before you need to upgrade. It's plenty for windows 7.
*The HDD is very large and will store lots of movies, mp3s, files etc.
Peripheral Components:
*The LCD screen is a 16:9 wide aspect type of screen. I was expecting something larger, but it's still quite nice. 17" is kind of small if you ask me. I can't IMAGINE what a 15" would be like. So if you're debating to get the 17" or not. 17" is the minimum in my opinion. It's a wide aspect ratio, so it's not as large as say an old school box style display would be @ 17".
*Webcam is AWESOME. It really IS *HD*. It's really great.
*Keyboard feels GREAT and smooth.
*Laptop itself is VERY light in my opinion. But, I'm a strong guy, so that's just my opinion. But considering that it's twice as large as my old laptop and half the weight, I'd say that's pretty awesome.
*Mic is "good". It seems clear to me. No static or what not.
Cons:
The mouse button is a little stiff. Well, it IS stiff actually.
Comes installed with bloatware but not too much, really. Maybe in a few months i'll format. But for now everything is functional and useful.
I'm sure I'm missing a few components (HDMI quality, DVD burner etc), but i'm not going to go through EVERY piece of hardware on the laptop. Overall it's a great buy. It's solid. It's cool. It's quiet. The battery life is good. The ONE thing stopping this laptop from being a true BEAST is an SSD drive. I plan on buying one in about a year when the price goes down. If one notices a huge difference while upgrading from a RAID 0 2x 7200RPM drives, I can only imagine the performance gain while upgrading from a 1x (no raid) *5400* RPM drive on this laptop. HDD's are a thing of the past for operating systems.
Great value, good performance and most definitely future proof. That is, if you're not a hardcore gamer. And coupled with an SSD I see this laptop being VERY VERY VERY future proof (yes that future proof).
Anyways, buy it, you'll like it.Excellent computer, took some getting used to at first. I had only been used to working on either a Dell or a HP.
