Review of Samsung Series 9 NP900X4D-A02US 15 LED Notebook Intel Core i7-3517U
This laptop is super fast; it boots up in about 5 seconds. It's super thin and light. It has some die-hard Apple supporters taking a second look at this laptop. The memory is smaller because it's solidstate, but for my needs (microsoft office and CD files) 256GB is more than enough. Works great, great quality, looks awesome, I'm glad I bought it!!!

Discount Lenovo IdeaPad U510 15.6-Inch Ultrabook (Graphite Gray)
Anyone interested in buying this particular model please stay away from it. Lenovo Ideapad U510 model has a very known hardware issue with the ELAN touchpad. I returned this model exactly for the same issue. This issue is known since Dec 2012 I believe. See the following link:

You will literally find 14 pages filled with customer complaints. The discussion thread stopped when someone from Lenovo support acknowledged it as hardware issue. Lenovo is shameless that it is still selling this faulty model just to clear its inventory. Looks like they prefer their own interests over ours. They should have recalled this model and come up with a new model that fixes the touchpad issue and discontinue the U510 model altogether.
I bought this Lenovo laptop to replace my old Lenevo Thinkpad bought 6 yrs ago. I thought Lenovo was a great brand but I will now shop for either HP or Dell.
Great perforemce at a great price.
The touchpad is quite annoying, as it jumps when scrolling down otherwise ok.
The wifi does go off often for inexplicable reasons (on battery and everything, still unstable) had to get the official drivers with the connection utility from Intel to be at least able to troubleshoot it efficiently.
The battery lasts pretty long, some 4 hours, so that's fine.
Also, for some reason, sometimes when I close the lid, it goes to sleep, sometimes it turns off (although I set it up to go to sleep only), so I don't know what the deal is with that.
ALSO, there was a huge problem with the online sign-in to Windows8 with my (or any) Microsoft account initially (it was impossible, gave me an error every time) and I solved that by changing some registry (do your research and you'll find a solution), and it looks like Lenovo has a broken copy of Win8 that they are putting on these computers, otherwise the system has worked fine.
Moreover, beware, the speakers are really, really quiet, it's kinda ridiculous.
Oh yeah, and the last problem (I'm aware of) is the annoying beeping when the battery is low. I did all the research and no, it is not possible to turn off in the system or in bios, anywhere you just need to mute ALL the sounds, then it goes away. That means that you are not able to play any other sounds at the same time.
So yeah, there are many issues with this. I'd say the best thing about this computer is the design and a good keyboard, otherwise don't spend more money than you have to, there are other models from other brands that work much better for this price!

I purchased my U510 at another retailer (same spec and price) and must say this is a great laptop. The screen is crisp and clear, the keyboard is a joy to type on and the speed meets my needs. The style of the laptop (like a journal or notebook) with the same color top and bottom is very cool and gets glances when I am carrying it around or using it.Great perforemce at a great price.

I ended up getting this same computer (refurbished) from the Lenovo official outlet shop for $450. For that price, it is a steal, but for what they offer it here for, it is definitely overpriced, because there are problems with it:The touchpad is quite annoying, as it jumps when scrolling down otherwise ok.

Cheap MSI A6200-021US Notebook PC - Intel Core i5-430M 2.26 GHz / 15.6"
Would recommend this laptop. However, when I purchased it I did not realize it came with 32bit Home Premium Windows 7 and not 64 bit. So I went and purchased 64 bit and reinstalled the OS. Works even better with 64bit Windows 7 Home Premium. I ran it with 32 bit for a day and for the last few days have had 64 bit windows on it. Screen is great. Can't complain except MSI should clearly state that it comes with 32bit on their packaging. Better yet they should install it with 64bit.
Not an LCD as this ad and the website of national reailers like Office Depot claim, in Fact if you take a brief trip to the website of MSI they too, confirm this and since buying one last night at my local Office Depot I have confirmed that the info on the MSI website is correct this is once more is an LED display !!!
With that said this unit overall is as good as any laptop I have ever owned, or used from my job. This includes 11 different laptops in the last 14 years from NEC, IBM, HP, Toshiba, Acer and Dell.
The only complaint I could find is that it comes with Windows 7 32 bit instead of 64 bit which is not that much of an issue as most applications do not support 64 bit mode at the moment anyway, however I just don't think it makes much sense to have not used 64 bit.
With all that said a quick review and my first impressions...
1. The screen is excellent, large and beautfiul, great contrast and colors
2. The keyboard is excellent, a little different for someone not used to the chicklet style made popular by Apple, but doe not take long to get used to.
3. The processor is an obvious selling point, it runs cool, consumes less power than any previous high end Intel Processor and Graphics combo !
4. Overall build quality is top notch and for the solid feel it is actually quite light !!!
5. The tochpad is TOP NOTCH and I say that as someone who does not use a mouse, tochpad functionallity is something of a pet peeve for me when buying a laptop, so if you too are someone that finds many of the tochpads out there today not worth a penny..
Rest assured this touchpad works and works well !

So as you can see for this is a great laptop with plenty of power to spare !
If you are looking for a 15.6 inch unit that is powerful and more than capable of handling Flash media at 1080P look no further, this will make and excellent unit for developers and would serve well as an all around machine for business oriented users too !
One last thing I forgot is the battery and it out of the box after its first charge I got about 2 1/2 hrs or real time use surfing the web and half the time I was watching an episode of Red Eye on Hulu which is very processor intensive...
So when this company claims 2 1/2 hrs they mean it !
Unlike most companies who will site the number windows show right after unplugging it (HP, DELL, Toshiba) Just to name a few !
If you are wondering that number shown when placing the mouse pointer over the batter icon was showing 4 hrs. 15 min on my unit after first charge !

4. Power LEDs are very bright blue, almost distracting at night.
This machine has a great keyboard, tons of power, a really great screen, and it isn't too heavy. I love MSI and I'll continue buying from them in the future. I would recommend the A6200 to anyone in the ~$600 price range.

I will be recommending this notebook to my family, so obviously i would recommend it to you.
The problem with the speakers that everyone is complaining about is summed up to the fact that they put them on the front of the computer so when its sitting on your lap it sounds muffled. While its not exceptional, it wouldn't keep me from purchasing this laptop. I'm actually able to play sims 3 on it and even my desktop won't run it well. It plays perfectly! I'm so happy with this!

I am so glad my fiancee convinced me to spend the extra $100 dollars on this laptop (the one I wanted) over a similar Acer with a Core i3 processor. This is hands down the best laptop I have ever owned.The good:

I am so happy with this laptop! It is by far better than the $900 Dell I bought 2 years ago. And I only paid $600. This computer really handles what you throw at it. Wow, where to begin? fantastic computer...in use as I write this! fast, responsive, color is a mahogany-red, NOT an "apple" red...very nice finish...true to color as in picture, no dissappointment here! OMG---battery life is FANTABULOUS !! been on since 3pm...it is NOW 8:07pm...and it says I STILL have 43% or 1 hr & 33min left...telling you-she IS a work-horse!! loving it!

I bought this for a work at home customer service job. It could have been a great computer, but there is something wrong with they keyboard. When I am typing the letters are jumping all over the place, and some of the words when I type them are being erased as I type them. I have never had this happen with a laptop. I surely cannot use this and type in customer accounts and type reports like this. I own one of these I bought from BestBuy back in Sept and I love it. Best laptop ever. I've played just about every game on max details and this laptop takes everything without a problem.
I love it.
Visually very appealing. White top with side and logo LED's.
Functionality-
The keyboard is very flat feeling with not much depth. The keys have a squishy feeling, while seemed to be placed in the right spots. have hit the wrong key a few times (specificaly the backspace key)
The reason i only gave this laptop a 4 star is that i orderd a new laptop but recived a Refurbished one instead.
On that note it came with two recovery disks and a driver disk.
everything was in new condition just missing the original box.
Im very happy with this purchanse but beware you will not be getting a "NEW" Laptop.
At the end of the first year, I called ASUS as the unit was overheating and powering down. The rep instructed me to go to the store and "Get a cooling pad and place it under the unit." Finally, a couple months (and a couple calls) later I told them something had to be done. The rep set up an RMA and I sent it in for repair. Why didn't the first rep do this?
More recently, I called regarding the power-cord cracking where it attaches to the power-supply. The first technician told me the notebook had a two year warranty but the power supply had only a one year warranty. What?! The second tech said that the first technician was wrong. He said that it was covered under the two-year warranty. Then he said that I would have to send it in (at my expense) and they would examine it to see if they would replace it.
This is not the way Dell cared for these matters. Dell would send me a replacement and a pre-paid return slip for my old one. In fact, the last time this happened with Dell, they said, "Keep your old power supply. We'll send you a new one free." I gave this information to the ASUS rep. She was unmoved. I explained that Dell had replaced power-supplies for my Dell notebooks, and paid for the return shipping on the broken one. She informed me that not every company is the same.
She's right. Not every company is the same.
And when it comes to Customer Service / Warranty Service, this experience has taught me all I need to know about ASUS.
I had purchased this laptop from amazon about 6 months ago, and i will say, for the price, i am more than satisfied. It can tear to peices nearly any modern game on its native resolution, with the exception of Crysis, and Metro 2033 on its highest settings.
The laptop comes with Windows vista pre-installed on it, along with a ton of useful features and applications such as facial recognition, ASUS quick boot, fancy start(something like that) and a lot more. I never really got a chance to utilize any of these features because the first thing i did was install win7....i guess for every gain theres a loss, right?
The processor in this bad boy is amazing. No, its not an i7, but it can definatly run your games or any other applications seamlessly without a problem. And if need be you can upgrade to the Q1900(intel core 2 quad, 2.6ghz,12mb L2 Cache), which goes for about $225 on ebay, but the performance boost is well worth the price you pay, you'll be right up there with the i3's, and i5's.
The video card is the heart and soul of any gaming computer, or notebook...and this one has a heart of gold.
Under the hood is an nVidia GTX 260M, which features 1gb of DDR3 Video RAM...more than enough to handle even the most GPU taxing CAD software, or games.
Now that DDR3 RAM is on the market, a lot of people tend to underestimate the power of DDR2...which is kind of sad actually. This laptop has 4gb of DDR2 RAM running at 1066mhz, which is rediculous for any DDR2 RAM, desktop and notebook.
Now that we have the more important things out of the way, there is always the matter of aesthetics. The laptop definatly has a unique look of its own(i get a lot of compliments) ....in fact you'll be hard-pressed to find one with as many exterior LED's, and designs. One of my favorite things about this laptop is the illuminated keyboard, its so helpful at night when your just laying in bed and you need to type an essay, or your at a LAN party, and your in a more dim environment.
So if your looking for a good laptop, even for todays standards, just not for todays price....than this is the way to go.....6 stars amazon!!!!!!!

I game a lot, and this is an excellent PC. Plays everything I can think of on ultra settings with nary a stutter. After reading the notebookcheck.com stats, I was expecting a lot less, but after six months I have yet to see anything even remotely approaching poor performance. Crysis, Crysis 2, Mafia 2, Two Worlds 2, Starcraft 2; everything runs smooth as butter. If you are looking to buy an all round quality laptop, highly capable of gaming, than i would definatly suggest the ASUS G51VX-RX05.
