My husband and I have had several Acer laptops. We do not need one for gaming or heavy lifting activities. We used this for email, banking, searching the Web, posting to FB and things like that. It's perfect for us. It's very light weight and has Windows 8 which has taken us a little time to get used to. I highly recommend ACER laptops to everyone I know because they are very durable and I've never had any issues with them in the past.

It's not as fast or as pretty as my prior laptop (Samsung R580 w/Intel i5 processor at about 2.2GHz),but then it's half the price I paid for that device. This laptop runs an Intel 1000M processor at 1.8 GHz. Fast enough, I guess. I like that it has a separate number keypad, which I would think is unusual in its price range.Most frustrating is lack of any LED or other indicator for "caps lock on". Though a few log-in sites will give you a "caps lock on" warning message; in most cases the sign-in box is hidden with asterisks or such like, and you just get an "invalid user id or password" error message with no clue that your blasted CAPS LOCK is on. For that reason I would not buy this model again. And, while I might buy from Amazon again due to good prices, I would want to ensure I had examined the model in person in a store first to ensure full keyboard function.

I can not activate the laptop. I was hoping the laptop had come with a CD which would enable me activate the laptop but it was not there.
