I purchased this as a gift for my husband, had it 120 days and the screen cracked. Unfortunately, it was only guaranteed for 90 days so now I am without a screen/laptop. Not a happy camper!

Dell is always a winner. This 17.3" Inspiron works great looks good and seems very well built. It has all the extras I could use for business or pleasure.

I bought this for my 88 year young mother who has moved in an assisted home but she was not comfortable with the display so I gave it to my girl friend. It has better ratings (Windows Experience index) than her 3 year old desktop and it is still win 7 which my mom and girl friend would rather have. (they both are not good with learning new ways ! , My mother especially so ! )

I wanted to stick with a name brand even know they are pretty much all made in China, Korea etc........

In regards to the poor review, the packaging states to update the Dell Driver upon first using it. This prevents any crashing, and updates to the most current driver. This was a steal. I was looking for a windows 7 OS, and this computer is fast and has lots of memory. Must have!
