I was looking around for laptops for school. Did the whole go to best buy, check to see what was available in my price range. But price wasn't the only obstacle I also wanted something that could run games like Diablo 3. When I talked to the best buy computer guy he was trying to sell me the 800 dollar Samsung. I told him a few times my maximum spending limit was 500 bucks, he proceeded to tell me that if I wanted to run Diablo 3 that the laptops in that price range would not support the graphics recommendations. Well I told him I needed something right away due to my school work falling behind. He recommended this particular laptop because it was an open box item and it was "cheap but fast" so I took it home and installed Diablo 3 just to see what it would do. To my amazement it installed fairly quickly and ran almost flawlessly. "Almost" is the key word every now and then it lags. But for the 400 bucks it is worth it. I didn't buy it off of Amazon but I shop for just about everything on here so I decided to write a review for those who are wondering and thinking about getting a decent laptop for a decent price. The only thing I don't like is that the laptop is brown. But I can live with it. So if your in the market for a laptop this is well worth the buy. Hope this review was helpful

ok my first laptop was a Dell 630it was not bad but just stopped booting up one day-got oldnext lenove t61 think pad 2007not this was a perfect laptop and thin yet built to last/note Lenovo seems to make cheap plastic laptops these dayshad an hp g seriesnot to bad for an hp the hdmi worked well and it was a fast laptop -keyboard kinda sucked and it got hotsometimes was so hot blowing out on your lap u would have to move it -next the lenovo ideapad z560i do not like a laptop that is not sturdy when you pick it up from under the dvd drive as this one did and was not built to last and the ledsshowed thru on the top of the screen-next samsungjunk junk junk! never buy a samsung laptop or you will be sorry-next the new lenovo think pad edge amdthey kept the cool rubber on the top but made the rest thick hollow feeling plastic and i mean clunky thick-lenovo seems to be cheap junk maybe if you spend 800$ u might get a good one but for 600$ i didntnow THIS ASUS I HAVE TO SAYALMOST PERFECT AND MINE IS THE I3 2.3 AND 8GIG DDR3THIS IS ALMOST AS STURDY AS THE 2007 THINKPAD T61 HAS ALL ALUMINUM FRAME AROUND THE KEYBOARD AWESOME SCREEN -THERE IS NOTHING FLIMSY ABOUT THIS K53 BUT KEEP IN MIND THERE ARE OTHER ASUS LAPTOPS THAT ARE VERY FLIMSY AND NOT BUILT LIKE THE K SERIESTHIS GETS ALMOST 5 STARSTHE KEYBOARD IS JUST OK SPACE BAR HAS TO REALLY BE TAPPED HARDER = I TOOK IT OFF AND SET IT BACK IN AND IT SEEMS TO WORK BETTERAND THE MOUSE PAD BUTTONS KINDA LOUD BUT A LITTLE LUBE SPRAY MADE THEM A LITTLE BETTER NOT AS LOUDSO IF I CAN REPLACE THIS KEYBOARD SOMEDAY WITH THE OTHER K SERIES LAPTOPS CAME WITH =THIS WOULD BE THE PERFECT LAPTOPI AM VERY HAPPY WITH THIS

Bought this as a birthday present for my daughter. She did not want anything with windows 8. I shopped everywhere for the best deal and found this Asus in the used section. It was an open box, not used, so I ordered it, they shipped that same day. No shipping charges, no tax, received it in 3 days. Opened it up, turned it on, transfered files, ... she loves it, and I'm a hero!
