The 36984RU, which I purchased from this particular link, has thus far done everything I've needed to. I'm an asset artist studying game design and had purchased this device primarily for graphical work. The stylus it came with is surprisingly precise for this in the lower-range sensitivities, though getting the drivers to work properly was a bit of a chore. As of this writing I'm using the ISD_DualTouch_710-8 drivers from Wacom, as the -16 failed to properly work. I also used device manager to disable the 'power management' feature that turns the tablet devices off to conserve energy, as the drivers themselves are only on when the stylus is removed from the hub.

When using other styluses, this can be troublesome though you can simply keep the stylus in its slot after turning it slightly, as the beveling will keep it in place a centimeter or so out of the slot which is far enough for the drivers to remain static. When using the screen as a tablet the touch feature remains enabled, so a drawing glove is suggested. I've since purchased a third stylus for it as any 'penabled' device will work with it (which is keen as the pen decides the relative, locational sensitivities; the samsung one I have as a secondary has oddly harsh mid-ranges, so I've opted to try out a Wacom Bamboo Feel), so long as said pen works with the Wacom Feel drivers.

As for capabilities, this machine's surprisingly powerful for its size and weight, especially given its tablet nature. The connection to the keyboard is relatively sturdy unless shaken back and forth, and the screen is durable as heck. I've noticed a few dark pixels, but given the resolution at its size (1920x1080 at 12.1 inch) the few are hardly noticeable. Its processor and RAM are strong enough for everything I need to do, and the built in 4000M is good enough for non graphically-intensive games. I utilize a desktop computer for any render-intensive work, but for any 2D artwork the Helix excels.

I'll post an update to this if anything comes up, but I've had this since late August/early September and am pleased with it thus far. 4 stars for the driver difficulties and the price, though for what I'm using it for it's the best available. The ATIV Q would have been the ideal, but with its potential cancellation the Helix is definitely the way to go.

Lenovo Helix made a lot of promises, but lived up to few. It's heavier than expected, and the keyboard is a little tighter than a conventional laptop. The machine arrived defective. Worse, Lenovo support didn't even know about the device, and couldn't help troubleshoot. Lenovo did offer to replace the Helix at no cost, but the damage was done. I returned it and will not recommend Helix.

Not all Helix's problems are Lenovo's fault. It's a Microsoft Windows 8 machine. The Windows 8 experience is awful. Had Helix been built with another operating system, say Google Chrome, the experience may have been different. Windows 8 is just too limiting.
