For the price this is a great laptop! So far so good. I got it up and running out of the box in no time. The speed of the computer seems pretty good, haven't run any extremely resource heavy stuff yet-I will later, Ill update in a few months. A few pros and cons for you:

PROS:

VERY LIGHT! I'm surprised that with the size of this, it is not heavy at all.

Beautiful ScreenThe colors and video look great!

Pretty good battery life-I watched a full movie on one charge, and a few hours of regular internet surfing and work.

Pretty thin-for the price, I thought Toshiba would put this hardware in a clunky package... I was wrong.

Stays cool-my last laptop got pretty hot, especially when burning CD's or other heavy stuffthis one barely gets warm!

CONS:

Keys on the keyboardWhat you think you'd see on a kids laptop, plasticy and clunky. C'mon Toshiba-is it that much more expensive to put somewhat nice keys on this thing?

Speakers-terrible.... perhaps I was spoiled by my last laptop-they are almost handheld radio quality.

Other than that, I'm pretty happy with this purchase. Also considering this price, it really cant be beat (If you don't mind the cons).

**********UPDATE*********** MAR 2011

I am still pleased with the laptop. No major performance issues yet.

However, I have another con that I MUST add. Quite frankly I am disappointed that Toshiba, who are not exactly novices in the laptop field, would do this. There are NO USB ports on the right side. This might not seem like a big deal, but if you want to use a mouse (not everybody likes the touch pad), you have to buy one with a long cord, or a wireless mouse. My retractable cord mini-mouse was useless with this laptop-too short.

Your USB cords get jumbled up because they are all in one place on the front left side. I would have bought another laptop at a comparable price if I knew that. Well, there ya go. Thx!

Bought this laptop at bestbuy in store, paid 349 plus tax. Brought it home pluged in and charged battery, inserted my cd from our existing router, and it basically set itself up to pick up router. Set up a couple usernames for family members and off we went to the internet, without a hitch, cheap and easy to operate, so far. We have a nice desktop dell in downstairs family room but was gettin old to run down and check something out fast, downstairs. So we were lookin for something decent size screen, fast speed, ,easy to operate and setup, we can have some portability around the house. This is a nice laptop so far, kids 8 & 11 have found it easy to operate and can keep an eye on what they are into, when it is in the kitchen. So far so good, cheap, easy to operate and portable, just what we wanted.

There are two ways to judge this laptop; first relative to its competition as an entry level laptop that is basically the first step above a netbook, secondly relative to its price value.

Listed here at $396 the verdict on price value is easy-wait and shop around. There are a host of laptops one step above this (athlon II dual core/3 gig ram/3 usb) that can be had in the $350-$400 range with just a little shopping around.

Now flip the context to entry-level value and the tale becomes a bit more interesting. My impressions of this are still somewhat brief as I am using it essentially as a loaner so I'd have something at my apt. while my regular laptop is in the process of being replaced due to faulty hardware. Judging it from the price range my parents found this at (289.99) this holds up much better.

The hardware is very basic, a 2GHZ single-core Intel Celeron processor with 2 gigs of RAM, 250 Gig Hard drive, 2 USB ports, and that's about it. It does have a few luxuries however that make it quite nice in the basic laptop department.

1.LED+low power processor+ only 2 gigs of RAM= Solid battery life. I have not taken this to the duration of the battery, but after about an hour of browsing the internet on battery alone without lowering display brightness or taking any other power-conserving steps the machine still had an estimated 4 hours of battery life remaining. The low power usage also means this machine has so far ran extremely cool compared to the two other laptops I've owned.

2.Nice keyboard-My first laptop was an older Toshiba Satellite that served me well for about two years but had a somewhat cramped-feeling keyboard considering it had a 15.4'' display and 10-key. This one doesn';t have as nice a feel as my HP, but still is fairly nice and the 10-key is an added bonus.

3.Installed software-In addition to the now standard 64-bit Windows 7 they also included a nice feature of making Office 2010 not simply a short-term trial, but instead adding a stripped-down basic version of word and excel that has no expiration date, treating the full version of office more like an update.

Final verdict (aka tldr version)--

Given these aspects of the machine mentioned above this is not going to be supplanting anyone's desktop or higher-end laptop any time soon, and listed at $396 on Amazon much better machines can be found for the price. But in the right sale (say just at or under $300) and setting this could be the perfect machine for someone looking for a budget machine to fill basic needs (web-browsing, word processing, playing music--assuming a small investment in speakers) or someone looking for a cheap secondary machine to take on the road with them and as as a netbook with improved display/keyboard and no need for an external cd/dvd player.

Honest reviews on Toshiba Satellite C655-S5082 15.6" widescreen Laptop (Trax Texture

I decided to get this @bestbuy after helping my mom shop for a laptop for my brother before Christmas. Works great for everyday computing/school and video converting. Was disappointed in volume loudness so I did some snooping and found a fix.

Right click on the speaker icon in the lower right area of the taskbar. (next to the power and internet connection icon)

Click "Playback Devices",

Click on "Speakers" to highlight it,

Then click "Properties"

Then the "Enhancements" Tab

Then check "Loudness Equalization"

then Apply and OK

Worked for me and increased volume to a much better level.

Hope that helps those that this issue annoys.

Overall the best laptop for the price ($299) once the loudness issue is addressed.

Webcam and mic would have been nice but I usually never use the webcam on my desktop. I have a "Sony Electret Condenser microphone ECM-DS70P" I bought off eBay for 99 cents+ shipping that works awesome with Google Voice when plugged into the mic input. Easy fix that is small and portable.

What's great about it: Low price, Toshiba/Japanese reliability, Fast, Widescreen

What's not so great: Webcam and mic would have been nice but not needed.

While I do have some issues with this laptop, for the price, it is definitely worth it. I got it as my laptop to take with me to college my freshman year of college. Also bought a desktop, but wanted an inexpensive laptop for the portability. I weighed my options and got the toshiba satellite c655.

I'm not going to waste anyone's time so I'll get down to the pros and cons of this laptop.

Pros:

-Size is perfect to fit in a backpack or briefcase, absolutely no problems there.

-2 USB port, an SD port, and an ethernet port. (Standard on most laptops)

-The mouse pad!!! (It has multi-touch technology similar to a mac. 2 finger scroll to scroll up or down and pinch to shrink or enlarge.)

-decent battery life, an hour and a half when power saver mode is off.

-The keyboard feels nice, keys are soft, but do not feel fragile.

-It has a number pad. (I could never have a computer without one.)

Cons:

-Download time is atrocious. (Took me 15 hours to download software for a class when my roommate had it in under 2.)

-The multi-touch can be unresponsive, but I still love it.

-As far as I've seen, there is no way to adjust the sound on the keyboard, you have to open the speaker settings

-There is not enough contrast between the mouse sensor and the laptop casing. (I often think I'm not touching the mouse sensor, when it turns out that I'm writing a paper and all of a sudden I'm typing halfway across the page.

Neither pro nor con:

-I think Toshiba cut the price on the laptop by putting an average processor into an outstanding laptop. This makes performance very slow compared to my desktop. (I didn't want to spend the money on a more expensive laptop, so am I at fault here? I think so, not Toshiba)

All in all, I am very satisfied with the performance of this computer. There are a few minor problems, but for the price, I doubt you'll find a better buy. Toshiba makes phenomenal laptops, and I am a happy customer.

Would give it 5 stars, except that I am rating Amazon's product, not the laptop itself. I got it on sale at BestBuy for a cheaper price, and this was over 6 months ago. If Amazon dropped their price on this, I would certainly bump the rating to 5 stars in a heartbeat.

Overall, I am very happy with this laptop. It has a lot to offer for such a modest price! In spite of a few minor complaints, this is a great system, worth more than the asking price. I was very much attracted by the price but was a little wary I was unsure what compromise might have been made to drive down the price. Did not want to spend too much because I only need a light-duty machine for Internet, E-Mail, and playing DVD movies while away from home traveling.

The first thing I noticed when it came out of the box is how light it was, but it also did not have the battery in it yet. It looks and feels really good and the weight is fairly well balanced. It is a large battery and appears to function quite well for hours without a recharge. The battery adds a good deal of weight, but it's a very light notebook for it's size. If your are looking for a laptop under 5 bls with a screen this size and a DVD drive I'm not sure you would find one under $300 or even $400 dollars.

The laptop's screen is very bright maybe too bright. Fairly easy to adjust the screen seetings via the function keys on the keyboard. I also found that when the screen is tilted back a little (away from you) the picture looks better and has more deep rich colors that really pop! I've enjoyed watching a DVD movie on it with no noticable issues.

It has a chicklet style keyboard, which in my opinion is good because of easier cleaning, but it is not does not light up, which could make it easier to see the keyboard in the light and the dark. At this price point I was not expecting a lighted keyboard. The touchpad is larger than I expected it occasionally gets in the way and moves the mouse and or clicks on an object. I'm thinking about just turning it off and using a wireless mouse.

The audio was not the best, but I was not expecting great sound. I boosted the levels to 100% in the application that came with the laptop (Sonic) and it did improve it to acceptable levels. The webcam is built-in which is nice, and it works about as well as what you would expect from a budget laptop which is not that good. I ended up making an extra $30 purchase for a pretty good Creative Live! Cam Socialize HD AF 720P 10MP Webcam

because it works well for Skype.

Speed is pretty good especially once you remove the moderate amounts of bloatware. If your not going to wipe and replace the operating system (Make sure to backup before you do) then I would recommend fully uninstalling the security software (virus, firewall, Microsoft Office trial etc...) that comes with the laptop via add/remove programs or Revo Uninstaller. I also would replace them with use a free products that have worked well in the past like avast! as a Antivirus. If you need or want an alternative to MS Office perhaps OpenOffice which is also free will meet your needs?

I got one this model on Black Friday 2011. Mine had a small problem with the "5" key not working in the top row. I took it back where I purchased it from and they got it straightened out. Since then it has been behaving very well.

It runs quite cool and quiet. The screen is brightly lit; almost too bright for me even at its lowest setting.(I just got rid of an old Dell D620) The speakers sound nice for this price system and the included Sonic Focus audio enhancement software really does make an audible difference.

One of the things I like most about this notebook, and ASUS in general , is its style. I really like the combination of different textures that they finished this machine with. The battery does decently enough. I get right around 5 hours out of mine, but I'm not a "power user" by any measure of the term. I can say that even the lower end Radeon HD 6290 graphics solution does a passable job of rendering some PC games. They'll probably play, just not well.

I was really quite amazed to find a registration card for FREE ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE PROTECTION for 1 year. That's right, FREE. Most retailers hit you up pretty hard for an extension of basic warranty coverage. To think that ASUS GIVES you 1 year of ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE PROTECTION against drops, spills, electrical surges and fire for FREE, that blew my mind.

I bought this Asus model over a year ago and have had no problems with it. I mainly use it for surfing the net, some e-mail and a few online games thrown in. I have not used the camera/microphone function much, but it appears to do the job when provided with adequate lighting. When just playing online games or surfing the net, the battery will last a tad over 5 hours and charges quickly even while the computer is in use. I don't store much on the hard drive, as this is a secondary computer, so don't have any issues with the storage capabilities. I also only use the programming it came with no Microsoft Office Professional in use to test the processing speed, as the processor is slow; however, for an under-$350 price tag, I'm very satisfied with this Asus laptop and would recommend it for a casual user who wants to get away from the desk!

I love this thing. I did a lot of shopping around and finally decided on this product to fit what I felt I was going to be using it for. I cannot step away from this thing! I watch all my movies on here, netflix, blu ray or otherwise, I listen to my music from it, and I use it to do all of my homework and connect to everyone using whatever social media I feel like using that week.

All in all, very satisfied with this product and would highly recommend it to anyone debating a purchase of their own. If it fits your needs and has a lot of features you want, go with your gut like I did, and get yourself one!

Seller sent item and was damaged by shipping company.

After many good e-mails the seller was able to resolve issue.

I am never buying from AMAZON again but I would use GOLOco Services worry-free.

Even with conflicting information from generic outsourced customer service representatives at Amazon.com

He resent replacement items hassle free.

Item was as advertised and met all expectations & exceeded some.

Damage could only have been avoided by UPS hiring better handlers.

Seller resolved misunderstanding with us with a level head and a kind heart.

More than I can say in the way my husband handled it.

Please consider this seller in the future for your electronic needs.

Thank You, Leo of GOLOco. The annals of history may not remember your act of kindness but I will.

Had an Acer before and got almost six years out of it and it still runs but I needed more memory but I was very leary about windows 8 so after searching I found this Acer on Amazon with windows 7 on it and I love it. It is fast, runs great and since I've had Vista in the past I really like the design of windows 7. Very happy with my purchase!

I bought this computer from Acer. It arrived and I immediately used it using my Wifi. The connection would connect then cut off, then connect, then cut off, every minute or so. I called Acer. They told me to do a few things including downloading and reinstalling the wifi driver. That didn't fix it. I told the guy that I already did that before I called them. I asked them if they would just send me a new wifi card (internal) that is very easy to replace, but they declined stating that I have to send the computer back for a replacement computer. Before doing so, I decided to do a search on the internet for a fix. I found it. Instead of just re-installing the driver which is what they said to do, I deleted the existing driver and then reinstalled it again. That did the trick. It works perfectly now. If you have this problem, go to their website and download the driver. it is WirelessLAN_Broadcom_5.100.82.112_W7x86W7x64_A

Before you install it, go to your device manager and UNINSTALL the existing driver. THEN install this one. It now works perfectly. If you just reinstall the new driver over the old one, it will not fix the problem, so don't neglect deleting the OLD driver before installing the new one.

Now for the second problem. I know this computer didn't come with great sound capabilities but still, the volume, when set to 100% was VERY low. I made a few adjustments and now the sound is about 50% louder.

The solution:

Have song playing so you can here the difference.

Right click on the speaker icon in the task bar and select Playback Devices (or find it in the Windows Control Panel) The Sound dialog box opens up.

From the Playback tab select the Playback device being used, in my case Speakers Realtek High Definition Audio (marked with a green checkbox) and click the Properties button. A new dialog box Speaker Properties opens up.

On the Enhancements tab make sure "Disable All Sound Effects" and "Immediate Mode" are both UNchecked. Check Loudness Equalization (on my setup all other unchecked) and hit Apply.

Bingo! Sound volume is up a lot, maybe 50%!

For the price, this is an excellent computer. I gave it three stars because Acer should have been able to tell me how to correct the WIFI problem and the sound should not have been set to a LOW maximum volume.

Not all models have these problems, as they use different parts from different vendors when building these, as all computer companies do, but if you have either or both of these issues, the two fixes I gave will fix your problem.

Best Deals for Acer Aspire NX.M12AA.032;ASE1-531-4665 15.6-Inch Laptop

So far so good. This laptop is nothing fancy, but gets the job done for our teen son. He says it plays his new video games without stalling or jerking, which means the integrated video is up to the task (but by no means is this a gaming laptop). The 4 gigs of ram is fine too on Windows 7. But it you need more it IS upgradable. Something that's not easy to find at this price point. Figure everything you need and nothing more for just over 4 bills.

This is my first lap top, I find it comfortable to use, maybe its just me, but the key board seems a little confined but, that may be because I'm not used to a lap top key board, but I'm getting used to it, I have a tendency to hit the cap lock a lot. And move the curser to weird, places. Other than that I love it!

This is the worst laptop I know, I feel not comfortable with this laptop and refund it mediately. I picked up ASUS K55N-DB81 as well later. ASUS K55N-DB81 is cheaper, higher system, longer battery life. I can use it in my college. One more time, my advice is DO NOT buy this laptop. You can see my new laptop here.

Its not as good as I expected. I have the same problem as another customer where the spacebar doesn't register sometimes. The battery life isn't very long so it has to stay plugged in for most of the time. The Startup is also a little slow. So overall rating, not impressed. Gonna return It and buy a different computer.

I ordered a new laptop, but they sent me a refurbished laptop with pre-used problems. The space bar had to be pressed hard on the right side to work and on the second day I had it, the mouse wouldn't move and the screen would freeze up repeatedly! I had to turn it off then back on to make it work, but it would eventually happen again. Lastly, it kept overheating to the point where I thought it was going to catch fire. This laptop was horrible! I would not recommend this to anyone!

This was my second HP laptop, first one was pretty good so I bought this one some months ago, I used it once a week barely for an hour or two for checking my emails. I left it in a hibernate status once for a couple of days and then when I tried to restart it, it wouldn't start. It just died, talked to HP, they looked at it and they said it was a system failure and they could not replace it. I am very glad it happened within the first year and it was under warranty.HP staff was kind enough to replace it with another new laptop(different model). I think this issue has been happening with a large number of DV6 laptops so I would think twice before buying it. Also make sure you have extended warranty on this laptop.

I purchased this HP Pavilion dv6t, special edition about an year ago. It seems that this HP product is good in built quality. I am traditionally a fan of Dell and used/using at least four Dell laptops (for personal use only). I had a great expectation from this HP notebook, my first HP product in any category. But I am highly disappointed. I tend to believe that the issues I face is not very specific case for my particular unit but general problem with HP laptops.

My first set back when I discovered that this HP product does not offer different color management, specifically Adobe RGB. I have all my photography equipment set at Adobe RGB, all my Dell notebooks offer many color management schemes, including Adobe RGB. So I can use this Pavilion dv6t for my photo need but with severe limitations. HP technical help could not offer any help.

The main trouble started around 8 months after I purchased it. The computer became too slow and started hanging over frequently, leaving me frustrated. I lost many valuable data and research work due to that rampant and random hang ups. HP technical team diagnosed that it has bad hard drive. HP refused to replace the defective unit but repaired it. That took about a week.

But the problem came back within a couple of months of repair. Again I am having the problem. A new problem also arosethe sound quality started deteriorating. Even at the highest volume, it is not much audible.

Probably this is my last HP hardware.

This laptop offers a pretty good "bang for the buck" value. A good third gen i5 processor and a decent GPU with 1gb of dedicated VRAM. However, it has a few caveats that may make you give pause when deciding on this purchase. I just bought one the other day. It comes with Windows 8, which sucks. So, I began the process of downgrading. Since Windows 8 takes over the BIOS, there is no way to tell it to boot from CD easily. There are some guides out there that will help with that, but that is not what my main issue with this machine was. My biggest problem is the touchpad. It has a hyper-sensitive touchpad with multi-touch capability. So you can pinch to zoom, twist, etc. The problem is, the touchpad sucks. Even when you go into the mouse options and turn down the sensitivity, it still is very jumpy. You can hold your finger in one spot on the touchpad and your cursor will jump around. You'll often find yourself pressing buttons on screen while typing because the touchpad thought you were trying to click it. Even installing software like touchfreeze didn't help. I'm constantly clicking or zooming or opening "save as" dialogues while typing. I even had to retype this message twice. So, if you plan on getting this laptop, plan on using an external mouse and disabling the touchpad, or plan on headaches. Another bad thing about it is the speakers. They face towards the bottom of the laptop, so the sound is muffled unless you tilt the entire laptop back and give the speakers some room to breathe. It's a good machine, but those poor design choices hold me back from recommending it to anyone. IF you're using external speakers and an external mouse, it's a good buy.

I researched several laptops before purchasing this one. Using Amazon Prime it arrived in two days after I purchased in perfect running condition. I've had it a week now and I was amazed to find this level of performance for only $599 on Amazon. It is more than capable of any computing (mostly MS Office Suite programs), skyping, and game playing that I do (granted I only play games like CIV V and Empire Total War, but it handles them on highest settings without a hitch). I love how cool this computer keeps itself. You can set it on your lap and type on it and it never gets hot. My old laptop was very hot to touch, so this is an added bonus. The only thing that I don't like is Windows 8, but everything comes with that version of Windows these days.

Hello,

I bought my Sony Vaio UX380N back in the beginning of 2008, and I haven't regretted it one bit. Even now, after having it and using it all this time, i still keep finding newer and more exciting ways to use my UX380N. Sony had a real winner on their hands with this model, but they were quite outrageous on the prices of them. If they would have lowered their prices to a more reasonable amount, and maybe have upgraded the RAM to 2Gb instead of just giving up on the UX model idea, they would and could have probably sold them like hot cakes. Everyone that I have talked to and showed my UX380N to really loved it, and they really were interested in purchasing one. But the Sony price of them, along with Sony's decision to discontinue the model rather than make a few upgrades to it and lower the price of it, drove them away from buying one. Sony could have made a killing profit with this model, but their poor business and tech practices, once again, put a damper on their sales.

Personally, I don't know or understand why Sony thinks so much of their cumputers that they raise their prices wayyyy above everyone else that builds computers with the same or better quality, and sells them cheaper, but Sony needs to come down to reality and notice and see that their brand name doesn't have the quality or known-ness as it once had. Sony just needs to come down to reality period. Until then, not too may people will pay their outrageous prices for things that they can just go to other manufacturers and get the same quality mwith a much more reasonable price tag. But still, that doesn't take away the wonderful computer that the UX380N is. If you can find a UX model UMPC at a reasonable price (Maybe @ $799 or less), then I highly recommend that you buy it. You will not regret it. Thanks for reading!!

Bought my UX380N back in 2007, this is an excellent micro-laptop if you travel much. I usually bring two laptops when I travel a bigger 13" or 16" laptop to do serious work and this guy is my entertainment laptop to play video, light games and serve as my BACKUP laptop just in case anything happens to my main machine. In this regard it is perfect I could fit both laptops on my back pack and barely know the UX is there.

To fully appreciate this laptop, you MUST upgrade it to Windows 7 Vista Business is WAY too SLOW. Once you put Windows 7 it is a totally different machine snappy, performs well and is a joy to use. The 1G RAM is sufficient for Windows 7 but not Vista Business. Oh, I did a clean install as well for Windows 7 and loaded all Sony drivers, everything works perfectly, actually much better than under Vista.

The screen is small indeed, the keyboard tiny, but what do you expect it is a micro-laptop, it is supposed to be small. The quality of components is superb the screen is crystal clear, the keyboard slide action is great, can't expect better built quality than this. Never tried out the EDGE modem, but it is too slow to be of any use anyways.

By the way get the extended battery. It makes it slightly heavier but much more practical. I could get 5 hours of light use out of the UX. With the standard battery, it is slightly smaller and lighter, but not practical with only 2.5 hours of juice.

I wish Sony would continue production it is sad to see it discontinued....

I've had a UX-380 for 3+ years, and it hasn't been used much the past year because of newer toys. But the first thing I did when I bought it was to rip out Vista and put in XPpro. Machine surprisingly fast, and is a REAL PC running all my desktop/laptop apps.

First of all, received this item in about 1/3 of the time it was supposed to take. That's always a plus! Secondly, the graphics are great and so is the speed between windows. It's truly a great PC for me.

I was looking for a cheap laptop replacement since my hard drive crashed on my other laptop. It happend out of no where and I needed a product to arrive quickly. Because of my location, there were no laptops for purchase at the store. I searched amazon for laptops under $400 bucks. This laptop came up on amazon and was marked as opened box. For the discounted price I was amazed when it arrived still scrink wrap and never opened. A similary laptop was at Walmart for over $500 bucks and only have a step up processor upgrade and 8GB of ram. If you know how to read you can easily install an Ram upgrade, which I did. I saved over half the price it cost at Walmart and received it super fast to my location. Thank you amazon.

Review of Dell XPS M1330 Laptop (Black)

My husband got this for me for my grad school, early Spring of 2008. As of this morning the M1330 has exhausted its puny life span of roughly 2-1/2 years.

The problems started early 2009 when the adapter failed to charge the battery, apparently a common problem (google diy options). I was about 10-days out of warranty so as every one knows the company that once was a hallmark of customer service (circa 100 BC) flatly refused to fix it. Even the fix they condescendingly offered was not a guaranteed one.

Apparently, some claim the problem is with the NVIDIA drivers, and a subsequent overheating of the motherboard. It could also be that the adapter jack got fried, the battery is dead or the charge cord is dysfunctional. In summating costs, I realized the best way to fix it was to try and fix it myself.

So I upgraded my bios, changed cord, changed battery (about $175). Up and running again for about a year, until last night, when 'ptzzz, chtink....' tongue-out dead!

Cannot wake it up, tried three different cords, direct charge (no batt). Nothing.

I will take out the harddrive tonight to salvage it. My husband's work place will do it. I admit. Sometimes, just sometimes, I miss working in the high tech industry.

We have two Dell laptops (the other is a 'i-will-die-any-day now' vostro100) and two Dell PCs. Never again.

Now, if Apple hardware married nonproprietary software, I'd be set. But that is for a blog rant.

Although the battery life isn't the greatest with just the standard edition, this laptop packs a lot of performance into such a slim and nice looking machine. The m1330 lets you surf the web, have multiple programs running, etc, all without affecting performance. Overall, great computer. I suggest buying the 9 cell battery.

I've had my Dell XPS M1330 for about 2 years now. It has travelled with me extensively and really I have had no problems at all with it. The power cord did have trouble about 2 months after I bought the laptop, but Dell sent someone round and he replaced the power cord and it was fine after that. Aparently the part of the mother board that the power cord connects is prone to breaking but fortunately it was just my power cord that was faulty. 2 of the other girls in the company that I work got all singing all dancing top of the range Dells and had no end of trouble with them, and the Dell customer support was terrible which was a shame. Anyway, as I said, I've had my little XPS for 2 years and really no dramas so I would recommend this laptop.
