I like how it works, it's so fast; i like AMD technology and the keyboard is really help full and resolution is great.

It's fast, sleek, and has great graphics. The only grip I have is that sometimes my palm brushes the touch-pad and it throws the cursor off when typing.

Best Deals for ASUS K55N 15.6" AMD Quad-Core 500GB Notebook

I actually wanted a quad-core Acer, which had hardware more to my liking, but the OS was Windows 8 which I don't want. So I got the Asus because it advertised Windows 7 as the operating system. That's how bad I hoped to avoid Windows 8--that I would pay a comparable price for an inferior machine.

Well, guess what operating system it came with? Yup, Win8. So because of the false advertising I chose the machine I didn't really want and got double-screwed.

I've had this laptop plugged in for a couple hours now and the battery refuses to charge. In fact, I'm being told there is no battery.

And guess what? MS Office isn't even part of the bundle. I thought I'd at least get Word with the purchase of a brand new computer. Nope, but I do get a whole lot of crap I don't want to eat up my memory which I can't even expand because I chose the ASUS over the ACER due to the aforementioned false advertising. I've had this laptop out of the box for only a few hours now and I can't tell you how much I regret buying it.

Oh joy--I have to pay for shipping AGAIN to get my refund.

Since there really aren't any reviews for the laptop I figured that I'd chime in with some feedback. A while back I bought the system on Tiger Direct for 699, and I have absolutely no regrets with it. The computer really is a powerhouse for the price. The only modifications I've made is capping out the RAM at 16 gigs, but it was mostly overkill and because I love to multi-task.

Some notes:

Function + F4 key lights up the keyboard. It's not mentioned anywhere in the product manual and took me a few days to figure it out. It really is a lifesaver if your trying to type at night.

The graphics card runs most modern games in medium to high settings. It's considered a middle-upper class mobile card. The left side of the laptop will get hot after some time but its nothing to be concerned about, just make sure you give it proper ventilation

The keyboard is very comfortable, but it took some getting used to. I rarely if ever mistakenly click the touchpad, which might I add is also quite nice. the multi-gestures on it remind me of an Apple trackpad.

Completely satisfied. I have a lot of time using laptops as desktop CPU, connecting them all peripherals. And if I need to move, I have the intrinsic mobility of a laptop. I needed to replace my current CPU a Dell Inspiron 6400. I chose this laptop looking for a good processor, and the ability to increase the ram memory, up to 16 gb ... I placed an adapter in place of the optical drive to place the hard drive that originally brings. While I installed an SSD and the result is amazing. Using Acronis Home to clone the hard drive, Windows 8 really does fly with this configuration ... For the price I receive more than I expected. Yes .. I recommend it!

Appart from what the other guy said, this computer is a decent quality unit capable of running a lot of games. The hard drive is plenty big enough to hold your games and music, and with 3gb of ram its quite fast. I admit the graphics card is below todays games like call of duty modern warfare 2, but if you want a computer to run games like world of warcraft, or just surf the web or business then this is a great buy for the price!

I purchased this laptop 2 years ago and have had nothing but success in using it for my home business. I do have the unit connected to my network for excessive periods of time and it has always stood up to the challenge of my small business operations. Nice modern PC laptop for multiple lifestyle users... thumbs up Toshiba!

Honest reviews on Toshiba Satellite A305D-S6848 Notebook

The computer itself is halfway decent. But I've had a number of problems with over the years from a failed cooling unit as well as a bad motherboard. Also, the power cable is an absolute piece of garbage. I've had to replace mine three times in just a few months! If you value your money, look elsewhere for a computer. I'm never buying a Toshiba again.

This model is the worst. There is an inherent flaw in the design that cannot process static properly (forgive me as I don't know exactly what happens), so without warning the screen will turn fuzzy, like a TV channel with no reception. I have been working with Dell for almost 2 months to correct this problem. They "fixed" my initial computer twice and it still is doing it. Then they sent me a replacement unit which also does it. I am now awaiting a new unit model replacement. There is a forum on Dell's website where there are HUNDREDS of units doing this. Please, please, please do not buy this model!

I bought this laptop a little over 2 months, and it's been a pleasure working with it. I bought it used in very good condition. I was a little scared about buying it used, but so far it hasn't giving me any trouble. I'm very pleased with my purchase and would recommend this laptop to anyone that is on a tight budget.

We bought this computer for my sons birthday. Product was exactly as described. Very happy with our new computer. However, the box it was shipped in was way too big. it was not packaged right at all. It was bumped around alot in the delivery process. It was delivered in a timely fashion and it made it here unscathed. Proper packaging should be a priority in future mailings. But other than that, this was a great buy and the rest of the service we received was awesome:)

*within one week of purchasing this product, the screen malfunctioned. We took the computer to geek squad and also a personal friend who fixes computers and we were told it would cost over 300 dollars to fix the screen. I contacted the seller several times before the 30 days was up and they NEVER got back to me. We now have a broken computer that the seller wont exchange or refund. Total waste of money. The refurbished parts were so old geek squad couldn't help fix it and told me I had to contact dell to see if they even had the parts. This computer is JUNK. I lost my money on this computer.

Honest reviews on Dell Latitude D630 14.1" Notebook (Core 2 Duo T7500 2.0GHz 2GB 60GB

This works great... BUT I really wanted one that plays DVD's as well and it won't. Even after phone calls it STILL won't. They had no suggestions.

My beef is that I decided to use these people again to purchase another computer later. The computer worked really well, but had a few little niggles that needed to be fixed (how it shuts down; and once it is, the inability for it to start back up again). I could not get any response from them... they didn't answer phone calls, they never once replied to my emails no matter how much I pleaded. Finally one day I had a stroke of luck they answered the phone but by that time the screen had gone funny and I needed their help big time. They told me to pack it up and send it back (at my expense).

I'm now waiting to see how long it takes them to either send back my computer fixed, or email me with an idea of what is wrong with it... actually I'm just waiting for a response.................... I shouldn't complain I suppose, it HAS only been two weeks! And in the meantime I'm using my kids computer.

We bought this at Best Buy because it was cheaper there. Only $270++

Day 1 Install Day -> Easy to set up. Glitch #1 happened. Wifi lost connection and would not create the outlook account but still got to complete setup.

-> completed all windows update required. Took a while and a number of restarts but that was to be expected.

-> Day 1. 3x lost wifi connection. Had to click on the "FIX THIS.. " button to get it resolved.

Day 2 -> installed office, adobe, no issues on install. Lost Wifi connection once.

Day 3 -> Mouse pointer keeps freezing. Had to force reboot 2x.

I should have taken the best buy reviews more seriously. A lot of people angry with their purchase.

A lot of issues with this computer:

1. Mouse pointer freezing

2. Webpages take 3-5 seconds to render completely and mouse pointer active for navigation

3. Free 30 day Mcafee will not scan. Keeps shutting off.

4. Have to click on things 3-5 times for it to respond.

5. Space bar doesnt respond all the time so have to double click on it sometimes

Likes:

1. Lightweight

2. Price

i think the cons outweigh the pros. Will be returning to best buy

update:

Day 5

i figured out the issue with the mouse pointer freezing, apparently after it did multiple updates, it disabled the mouse. I have never seen this before but there is a function key that has a mouse icon on it with a line on it. just clicking that function key returns the mouse pointer.

Decided to give it a couple more days to see if all the windows update fixes its issues.

Day 6

seriously... i think weve experienced about 10 updates and about 15 restarts since then. how many windows update do you need? Some go for an hour. so today we disabled the automatic updates feature and maybe will enable updates when we leave the laptop at home.

Speed has not changed. for yahoo main page, about 5 seconds to render fully. for netflix main page, about 30 seconds to render fully. Once they render, they stay usable. no issues. so if you are patient and not willing to spend a little more, this one is for you.

I was looking in the market for a basic laptop for my younger brother who is going off to college (UCI). I'd had search on numerous websites looking for a deal which included newegg, frys, bestbuy, and walmart. All of which were out of my budget which is when I found this baby on amazon. I gotta say, this is the best bang for your buck as far as practically and price. At $315, this machine has exceeded my expectations! I thought it would be a lot smaller and slower both at which were incorrect. Has great hardrive storage and comes with 4 GB ram, I may buy some more ram so that multitasking would be much quicker. Right I can stream online radio, have 4-5 tabs open with different websites loaded (including me writing this review) without it taking to long to load each page but it could be faster with RAM upgrade. Overall, I think my brother will be very pleased with his new laptop, it will take care of his educational needs as well as entertainment.

The laptop worked for 2 hours and then the SSD died. I took it to repair and the guy told me that somebody opened it and replaced the 256 GB with a 128 GB SSD (which obviously was not even good because it died in 2 hours of normal use). If I could give it less than a star I would.

I love this computer. It was password protected when I first got it, but I was able to get around it to remove it. This is my first Mac and I just love it. It's easy to learn and follow. It looks great. I got it used, but if I hadn't known I wouldn't have been able to tell. I do plan to eventually upgrade, but I don't see the need now nor do I really want to.

This was refurbished, and it fell apart quickly. First of all, they said they would put in a new battery, but they did not use a genuine apple battery. Because of that, this cause a lot of issues with the keyboard, the CPU and the fans. After apple replaced it with an apple battery, replaced the keyboard, it was working better. Seller would not help me with this at all.

After a couple more months the display went, it now is nothing but a good looking paperweight. Cost of fixing it exceeds what I originally paid for it. Again, no help from the seller. Don't bother buying lemons from these people.

Best Deals for Macbook 13", White, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.16 GHZ, 2GB, 200 Gb Hard

Its great. The battery life is my only concern though. I'd recommend anyone looking for their first laptop or mac to buy this model. I had to purchase additional apps but thats fine compared to paying the original retail price

Honest reviews on Macbook 13", White, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.16 GHZ, 2GB, 200 Gb Hard

I regret buying a used Macbook. After paying $400 for the actual Macbook, plus $100 for a new hard drive (since the one that came with it died after 2 months) and $25 for a new charger (since the one that came with it literally fell apart after 3 months), I would have been better off just waiting and saving up for a new one.

Did I mention that it won't read hard drives internally anymore? Because it doesn't. I have to haul around an external drive every time I move my laptop. Oh, and the battery doesn't charge anymore. So I also get to haul a charger around. It's not exactly the most portable thing now, which makes having a laptop essentially pointless.

I much prefer Mac to PC though, as far as the user-friendliness goes. So if you're thinking of switching, do it. Just don't buy used because every seller on here basically rips you off. You don't know how old and mangled it is when you get it. It could look nice on the outside but have some serious internal problems. :/

Buy Clevo P150EM (Sager NP9150) - 15.6" Gaming Laptop

Clevo P150EM - 15.6' Gaming Laptop
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

AWESOME! runs quiet & cool, great display, fast graphics. Great bang for the buck for an all-around gaming/work pc.

1). Cool extremely quiet during normal operation, runs cool while quiet. Runs multiple applications and a zillion browsing tabs at same time with no hesitation.

2). While in intense rendering operations (photographic manipulation and intense gaming), second fan comes on which has a slight noise. But it is still very quiet, just a low hum you barely notice at most. The heat output from the fans is thus increased but there are TWO fan air outputs on the REAR of the laptop I love this because it means NO hot mousing hand on either left or right the hot air is exhausted away from the user. This is nearly unique within the laptop spectrum, and great for ambidexterous or left-handed mousers, particular graphical and gaming mousers who have hotter running machines to contend with.

3). The specs for this machine are great includes eSATA, DVI-I, HDMI, USB 3.0 ports. You can have either an extra drive or a B/DVD-CD burner/reader on the left side. The battery has a pretty good life when unplugged, especially when not running intensive games. The display/machine size is either 15.6 (P150EM/NP9150) or 17" display (P17EM/NP9170, about 2-3 lbs heavier).

4). Clevo is the OEM for this machine, the P150EM. Clevo builds good stuff. The Sager NP9150 was built upon the Clevo P150EM platform.... I.e., Clevo P150EM was rebranded and customized/souped up with certain components (like the high quality monitor options, drive & RAM & optical options) by Sager, sold as the NP9150 & supported afterwards as such by Sager. Sager is really good stuff. The NP9150 Sager is then resold and customized more (with Sager-made and quality 3rd-party optional components and software apps) by any of a number of US custom resellers, some of whom are excellent (see user forum reviews) and have higher-priority tech support from OEMs like Sager as well as their own in-house tech support. Either way you go for purchase, this is a solid machine. I did not get this machine directly from this vendor (the platform OEM Clevo), or from Sager, but from a custom US reseller of the Sager NP9150, so I would have maximum customization options and better/best tech support quality in case that was ever necessary, or just to get good answers to tech questions. (I researched resellers & chose xoticpc out of about 10-12 US resellers of this platform, based upon pricing, desired customizations, and overall tech support; I have been pleased.)

5). I am writing this to apprise readers of the excellency of the P150EM/NP9150 in general. My NP9150 has Win 7 64-bit running on an intel i7-3720QM processor (now this would come with a slightly faster processor, this machine is a year old), 22nm, 2.70GHz, DDR3-1600MHz, and I had it configured with 16G RAM. (The RAM capacity is expandable to 32G, but it does everything I need fast on only 16G; I suppose a programmer or graphics artist or the most recent A/S game out there might benefit now or in the near future from 32G). Sager gives different monitor options, my machine has the higher quality 95% color gamut NTSC matte finish. It's wonderful accurate color, resolution, and no glare.

6). NOTE!!: the graphics processor on this amazon vendor's NP9150 configuration is the intel Radeon card very fast very good card, but some tech issues have been reported with certain gaming sitations, look it up on the user forums. My machine choice was the NVidia GTX 675, because I wanted less chance of tech problems during all applications and gaming, and I've been very satisfied with the GTX. The 675GTX graphics card system actually has two modes for efficiency intel graphics for regular stuff like Office and web surfing, and the GTX for intensive beautiful graphics when needed. That's another reason it runs efficiently yet handles anything you throw at it, "seamlessly" i.e., without fuss and with quickness & beauty.

7). With my hardware configuration, I can have multiple applications open and running, AND a rendering-intense game like Witcher 2 or a recent Oblivion game, running at the same time. Game graphics rendering and game processing runs fast. And the graphical quality is excellent in resolution as well as color rendering as well as for black&white text applications it does it all. Great eye candy! Movies and video graphics and operations are also excellent.

8). The keyboard is comfortable and quick, and since its relatively compact it is efficient ergonomically yet fits smaller or larger hands. It's about 14" wide because it has a numeric keypad on the side (handy for business or gaming needs). You could customize this by swapping the keyboard out (have your tech or customizer do this) with a MSI Steelseries for a smoother feel as some shops can do, but it's not necessary. If I remember correctly, the stock keyboard is illuminated & you can control the colors, flashing not, illumination on or off, etc.

9). The Sager NP9150 is the Clevo P150EM with some added customizations, support etc.

Sager/Clevo machines have been known for their higher reliability and also components quality and construction quality than most other laptops on the market. They are well worth the extra buck. It may not have the sleek flashy shiny thin appearance of more popular, marketed and trendy laptops like asus or dell, but the engineering quality is generally superior for lifetime sturdiness and operational reliability. It's only a little thicker. The weight is under 10 lbs WITH the power brick and carrying case for the 15.6" NP9150... You do need the big power brick because it is engineered to support power needed by graphics operations during intensive image rendering (like, games or photography work). You can damage your machine if you use a lower-rated power brick; stick to the OEM power brick.

10). If you get one of these laptops from a customizable reseller (there's about 14 in the US), you will pay a lot more, but you will have better overall warranty, and better support warranty service because their customers get priority at the manufacturer over consumers who have to go directly to the manufacturer for support if that becomes necessary. Also, the US customizer houses like xoticpc offer more custom option choices for the laptop components than off-the-shelf from the manufacturer... with the entire still backed by the manufacturer warranty.

11). But either way, if you choose this machine from a well-reviewed vendor (that's VERY important do your research) with just the standard OEM warranty, you'll probably be happy with it. Sagers overall have the superior performance and reliability, and that is why gamers often choose Sager/Clevo over other makes/brands of gaming laptops like asus, msi, etc... which are flash in the pan compared to Sager/Clevo build quality. Sager/Clevo don't chintz on components & construction so reliability is higher while providing excellent performance, and also design intelligently for servicing at the same time. Discerning laptop consumers return to Sager/Clevo. For that reason, used Sager/Clevo machines often cost more than other used laptops they are a good bet compared to others. This machine (NP9150 for 15.6", or NP9170 for 17" display) has been a top gaming and all-in-one laptop choice for those who can afford it. This machine is no longer brand new but it still handles anything I throw at it. It is also known for its excellent of handling action/shooter games there are some youtube demo user posts and user reviews online.

12). Another strong unique feature of this machine is that its design is very modular. So it's easier for you or your service tech to modify and upgrade for memory, disk drive, etc. because everything is easy to get to, yet sturdily put together.

This laptop is an absolute beast! For a 15.6" laptop it can run any game on Ultra settings and run like a champ. The only thing that I could complain about is that you may want to have a laptop cooler or use it on a hard surface while gaming. Anyone that games on a laptop already knows this though. Besides that, the mSATA leaves a whole 2.5" bay open for additional storage and this thing has great wifi reception. 5 Stars all the way!

I am looking for a laptop/convertible--and this one was "it"!! Not so much...

Cons:

The issues that I have encountered beyond the baffling world of Windows 8 are:

1. HEAT--it is so hot I have to put something under it, a towel isn't enough, it is still hot enough to burn my legs, a thick magazine works but I worry about the magazine possibly catching on fire. This ultrabook has a solid state harddrive and no internal fans to cool it. The heat builds over a period of 20 minutes. A laptop is designed to be held on the lap--so I wonder how it was engineered to be durable over a long period of time without a cooling system. I have had other laptops with cooling systems after 2 years the heatpaste dried up, the system began shutting down from overheating. I foresee the life of this system, with only a year of factory warranty, being very short. I actually called Lenovo after owning the computer for less than 2 days--their solution: We don't have a solution for this over the phone, I'll send you a return box, send the computer to us and we will see if we can fix it. (I didn't buy through Amazon, luckily, or I would be stuck, read return policy for computers, has to be unopened or dead on arrival, and may be subject to a 15% restocking fee--I'll return to BestBuy for a refund.)

2. Battery life--3 hours is about the maximum even though it says 7 hours.

3. Freezing--the computer freezes when working in various applications. It has a very small harddrive, 128G (which is seemingly the norm today).

4. Windows 8, FYI, is like learning a new language--very frustrating with little instruction. It is akin to sitting down at a computer with Windows 3.1 for the first time. FYI, I have an iPad and iPhone so the tablet concept is not foreign, those took about 2 days to learn, this is going on 3 weeks and still not comfortable with the system. There is nothing similar initially to the previous generations--all the standard operations you figure out are the same but getting to them is difficult, navigating from one screen/program to another is difficult, figuring out what apps are running in the background--everything that was easy is now a chore. The "charm" concept is assinine--bring back the start button..Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 13.3-Inch Convertible Touchscreen Ultrabook (Gray)

Pros:

1. Small

2. Lightweight

3. Great screen

4. Great keyboard

After a year of looking on at other people's Ultrabooks with envy, I finally picked up the Yoga 11s. A week later I discovered the webcam was faulty and returned the item, lamenting the loss of the neat little machine and begging my thicker, heavier, but more powerful laptop (Lenovo Y400) to forgive me for straying.

I then learned Lenovo would be releasing the Yoga 2 pro in about a month from my return date. I believe computer karma was looking out for me as I was then a little glad I had returned the 11s. The battery on the Yoga 2 is superior to the Yoga 11s. I'm writing this review under power saver and rated for about 6 hours more at 95%. I think about 6.5 to 7 hours of life under normal use (web, light applications) would be a fair rating for the battery. Probably much more if you are in "typewriter" mode and have the web off.

Whether or not the screen is different from the 11s, the lines look sharper and crisper. And the weight feels about the same despite the larger size. I can easily slip this laptop into my bag (STM Hood) with my larger Dell work laptop and not feel worried that the pcs will get damaged by being squished.

The PC is also surprisingly (or not considering the specs) snappy for an ultrabook. I've only had it for about a week, so I haven't put it through any paces. But so far, I'm impressed.

It would have been nice if an ethernet dongle for the usb port was included, but the wifi receiver has been consistent in the different environments I've tested.

Time will tell how the computer holds up, but first impressions are that it is a very solid piece of equipment. I'm pleased with the purchase and would recommend it to others.

I am writing this review on my Inspiron. Love IT. Has everything you need in a lightweight laptop. Plus the size and extras that you don't get with a notebook. I am very glad I made this purchase and would do it again.

I bought this used and the model I got was actually a 3520 which was noted by the seller. When I got it, the physical appearance was better that I had expected. It looked new. I like the speed. It's much faster than my old laptop. The mouse pad and keyboard can be very annoying though. They're all over the place and doing own thing when I'm trying to use them. That's the only flaw I find right now. Other than that, I love this computer and I would definitely buy it even if I had known about the mouse and keyboard before. I think it was worth the price. So far so good. Hope I don't run into any issues in the long run.

Sony VAIO F2 Series VPCF232FX/B 16.4-Inch Laptop is not just another computer. It delivers on all advertised features but the best is the speed of the processor, I7 intel and the quality of the picture (full 1080P resolution). My unit came with only 4 gigs of ram upgradable to 8 gigs and a 500 gig hard drive but was just under a grand. For games you might need more ram.

This is supposed to be a gamer laptop but I have been editing video and working on my website and once you take a break and watch a blue-ray movie it is mesmerizing and gratifying to see every detail in animated action films. This is a tool for the professional so it is priced in the pro bracket but worth every penny. I have only had it for a couple of months but I cant find a fault

in this package. Even the battery holds up for about 5 hours. There is a higher capacity battery if you need one. It comes with plenty of software, even Sony editing software. I saved big with no tax and free shipping through Amazon. If you have a need for speed, quality, and portability this will fill the bill.

I purchased this notebook for home use to replace my old 17" Vaio, WinXP, Pentium4, 60GB HD notebook which I used almost 8 years absolutely free of trouble. My old Vaio was still working but after installing so many applications and Windows updates (these accumulate) C drive(10GB) was suffocating. I decided to look for a new one before something bad would happen. As I have used Vaios since the time it first came out as desktop model 18 years ago and those I used were all reliable and long-lasting I had no reason to look for other brands. I selected this model because this has full HD screen, Blue-ray player, the fast i7 processor, with all of which I can do many things for several years from now. The size 16.4" was just right to replace my old one, and the price was also reasonable and came with $50 Amazon gift card. I could use the card for purchasing a fitness bike I wanted too.

I have used this notebook for two months and two weeks so far. While installing some applications in the first week I noticed something was preventing full installation. So I uninstalled pre-loaded anti-virus software and replaced it with another one which came free with RoadRunner cable. Since then all applications installed smoothly. When purchasing this laptop I didn't pay much attention to pre-loaded software, but exploring the notebook I noticed it came with video-editing and music-editing applications. Therefore I didn't have to look for Windows7 upgrade of my old video-editing software. Also, as I'm interested in playing around with Miku-like vocaloid, I can use the pre-loaded music-editing software to compose background music to go with vocaloid. I already downloaded many free loops available at the applications websites but I need to learn more about composing.

The laptop automatically looks for updates of system and Vaio softwares and notifies you when available. I just had such a notice a week ago and when I click "intall", several updates were downloaded from Vaio sites and installed one by one into the laptop. My major use of this laptop so far (only two months) is for editing photos, images, videos, web-browsing while listening music, I haven't done any heavy stuff yet. But everything has been fast and smooth so far and I don't feel I need to add another 4GB RAM anytime soon. The Internet button is convenient. I push it to check email and browse the web for a short time after I come home from work during the weekdays. During the weekend I always keep the laptop on and put it in the sleep mode when not using. It wakes up quickly and wireless connection hasn't failed once. As this is my home pc, I disabled the touchpad. I always use a wireless mouse instead. I'm much more confortable placing the screen farther from my eyes than my arms reach, and this way also allows me to have a cup of tea or coffee and a snack or desert plate between the laptop and me, not worrying about spills and splashes. So far I'm very happy with my new Vaio.

I saw many laptops include Apple and Dell. They are all more than $2000. But the picture of Sony F laptop is sooo sharp and make me shock! My model is SOVPCF23JFXB which is different with this one. But basic hardware and software are the same. I NEVER had such experience to use this kind of computer. My sony computer was designed for game. I found that it is not good for game. It very good for home theater.

The shortcoming is that sony default setting using intel graphic card to save energy. I turned it on and updated the software by clicking "Sony update". Guess what, the result is amazing!

Honest reviews on Sony VAIO F2 Series VPCF232FX/B 16.4-Inch Laptop (Matte Black)

I never owned a Sony laptop before I bought this one. All the research I did on this laptop before I bought it said that it's a great computer. Even the feedback here on Amazon shows that people are happy with their purchase.

Here's the problem I had with mine. It would lockup and windows would give me a blue screen error saying that it was shutting down to prevent damage to my computer. This would happen at random times when I was using software programs; and it would also happen when the laptop was sitting idle with no software running. I spent 2 days researching what could be causing this problem. Some of my research showed that it could be a hardware problem and other research showed it could be software related. So the big question was: Is this something my software caused or did it come with this problem from the factory.

I deleted all my programs and files and reinstalled windows (Using a copy of Windows that I purchased from Staples). That didn't fix the problem. So I chatted with Amazon customer service and without hesitation they agreed to send me another laptop (same model) and pay for the original laptop to be sent back to them. That's great! Amazon definitely knows how to take care of customers. I'm very happy with how Amazon helped me.

So the new laptop arrived a few days later. To make a long story short; I had the same problems again. Again I hopped on chat with Amazon customer service and they said since I am having the same problem with both laptops that it would be best to refund my money and they will take a look at their entire batch of this model of Sony laptops to see if they all have the same problem.

Again, I'm very happy with how Amazon helped me with this problem. They even refunded my original shipping costs. So Amazon lost money on the deal. But they made sure I was taken care of.

I ended up purchasing a Samsung laptop with most of the same features that the Sony had. I've been running it for almost a week now and have not had the blue screen error at all. So I'm pretty sure the problem was with the Sony laptop.

My advice: Check with Amazon to see if they have inspected this batch of Sony laptops before buying one. But don't worry if you have a problem; Amazon with take care of you.

I researched my laptop purchase extensively before I shelled out my hard-earned cash, and for the price, this is the most bang for your buck in a souped-up laptop (i7 Quad Processor, 1920 x 1080 screen resolution, usb 3.0, blu-ray...). While I'm not a gamer, I am a power-user nonetheless. This model has a great (customizable in the Control Panel) backlit keyboard...essential for a DJ or in flight...no other laptop in this price range has it...Plus, it's beautiful and angular, and really stands out among the 'plasticky-looking' models in it's class. Do yourself a favor and throw a 4GB memory card into your cart for $22 (here on amazon [Corsair 4 GB DDR3 Laptop Memory CMSO4GX3M1A1333C9])...remove the memory cover on the bottom, and there's an empty slot right there waiting for it, (it snaps right in with no tools) and it doubles your memory and speed instantly.

I also swapped out the spinning harddrive with a no-moving parts 120 GB Solid State Drive ($99 at Tigerdirect) and this baby is really zippy, and generates almost no heat...I can't hear the fan at all. With the SSD, this laptop is actually cool to the touch...30 seconds to boot Windows 7, less than 2 seconds to open any Office app, about 4 seconds for Photoshop. All the software/drivers you need for a new install is at Sony.com, and even though it took some time, it's worth it and pretty easy.

All and all I am quite happy...my last Viao lasted three years of DJ nights and days of Adobe and Office...the fan was so loud, you could hear it from across the room. This new F Series is almost silent, the 1080p HD is gorgeous, and I can actually hear great sound from the speakers (Can't say that about my macbook pro)...Love it!
