Discount Alienware M18x R2 BLACK 18.4" i7 3940XM 3.9GHz NVD SLI 680M 32GB
This is for those who aren't afraid of commitment. If you want to see how us "2 percenters" have fun on a computer, this is it. Video card is more than awesome, the sound is of Bose quality, the speed and agility is reminiscent of a "Z06". Whether it's gaming or watching a Bluray favorite, this is how to get it done "American Style" (did you hear me Psy). I doubt the previous reviewer actually is a 2%'er because of the "Z06" reference. If you are a 2%'er, you would mention some import: most likely a European model like a Porche, Audi, or Ferrari. If your idea of performance is a Chevy, chances are you are from the bottom 2%, not the top. That being said, this is most likely the mightiest laptop out there, but even if price is not an issue, I can't see the sense in this machine. The graphics cards are way overkill: only get this if you plan on docking this to a triple HD monitor setup when not on the go. One 680M could run three monitors on its own: why would someone want two for a single display? Do they need to heat up the room faster? Since its very heavy, chances are you won't want to take it many places either, in which case you can get the same hardware for half the cost with a desktop. If you need a large screen laptop that can run anything, a 670M is more than enough. The memory is also a waste, will you ever use that much? Most likely: no. If I was a 2%'er, I wouldn't want something that looks like a kids toy either. This thing reaks of "cheese" if you ever see it in person. There are plenty of laptops out there for much less (weight and money) that will run a 17" 1920*1080 display at full speed, and they don't look like a disco.

Reviews of HP Pavilion DV7-6157CL 17.3" Laptop: A6-3400M 2.3GHz, 6GB memroy
After buying a laptop in-stores with Windows 8 software I soon discovered, that was not the fit for me. So after research/review I decided to go with this laptop. I LOVE it, but unfortunately the seller wasn't too clear that it was a previously used laptop, I got the impression that it was brand new, especially based off how much I was paying. When I got it, I soon discovered many family pictures, even videos, that were not mine. I wish the seller would of done a factory restore before selling this product to me, I feel like I violated someones privacy by looking at their stuff. Nonetheless, it arrived earlier than I thought it would and hasn't given me any problems!

Best HP Compaq 5310M, Intel SP9300 Cpu, 13.3 HD Panel, 320GB Hard Drive Deals
Updated 3/11/10
After 4 months of use, I still believe this is a great laptop/notebook for the bucks. I haven't had any issues with this computer at all! I love the slim build, and it's pretty feature rich for the money. And the display is very crisp and clear.
A note about battery life. If you want this system to run 5-7 hours then you need to by the ULV (Ultra Low Voltage) processor version, not the Core 2 Duo. The ULV is designed to extend battery life and conserve power. Make sure you do your research before marking something low for what it's not designed to do.
Some have commented on what this laptop does not have as a reason to give it a bad rating as well (ie. like not having a VGA port or an internal optical drive). Again I say do your research and read the specs! If it doesn't have what you want -don't buy it. It's meant to be light and portable and that's exactly what it is. I carry it EVERYWHERE often, including much travel, and have had no issues. It's well built and doesn't scratch easy. No, it's not a ThinkPad build, but if you want that, then buy a Lenovo, not an HP.
The only criticism I have about this computer is that it collects fingerprints easily. More of an annoyance than anything. If it bugs you too much, buying a laptop skin will take care of this issue.
Finally, if you get a lemon, send it back! This applies no matter the brand of computer.
Overall, I'm VERY pleased with this laptop. I STILL HIGHLY RECOMMEND it -if it fits your needs.
-------------------
First, let me explain my criteria. I was looking for a thin and light full functioning notebook with more power than a netbook (of which I've owned two) and less than $1000 (which was hard to find until now), with an integrated webcame (which most laptops come equipped with nowadays), and that could handle streaming video from sights like Hulu, netflix, etc. HP has gotten the combination just right. With a processor that beats the standard 1+ ghz in a netbook, a large 13.3" matte widescreen, weighing under 4.0lbs, and under a grand, the Probook 5310m is a great buy.
Pros: 2.26ghz processor
13.3" widescreen (1366x768)
2gb Ram expandable to 4gb
Extremely thin
Nice, slim, business look eye catching
Quick access web and email buttons
Matte screen
Chicklet-layout style keyboard
Sturdy and stylish build
Average batter life 4 hours w/ a balanced power setting (and yes, I've tested this!)
Great security software included
Cons: Runs warm (but not hot) when streaming/watching video (most laptops do however)
Fan is sometimes loud
No VGA out port (requires a displayport to VGA adapter)
I've owned the Probook 5310m for just over two weeks now and have used it everyday! Overall, this machine has done exactly what I've needed it to do. The keyboard is very comfortable to type on. The speakers are weak, but that's to be expected. I rarely use the unit speakers any way. The sound is more than sufficient through headphones or connected to my LCD TV.
I'm running Windows 7 Professional and operating multiple screens at a time is a cinch. I've also done video editing on this computer. Although not as snappy as my desktop, the Probook 5310m handled it just fine and without hickups.
The Probook 5310m does not come with an optical (dvd) drive, but thin external drives are avaiable nowadays for around $50 bucks. Since I rarely use a dvd drive I was actually looking for a system without one to keep the weight down.
So, for the money you're paying this notebook is a great package. If it fits your needs, I highly recommend it. BTW, it's great for students and frequent travelers. I did some video and document editing while traveling over the Thanksgiving holiday and found it a very easy experience.
Great buy!
I saw this notebook and HP representative assured me that it will run for 6-7 hours, I check HP website and I found the same, so why don't give it a try.
The machine is nice and light, but I was surprised when I tested the battery and found out that it run for only three hours with all the wireless communications and blue tooth switched off and no applications are running. I did the test several times and I get the same results.
I called HP support and the recommended to replace the battery, so I did. The new one it butter than the old one but still runs for 3.5 hours also without wireless of Bluetooth.
Now for the last three weeks and I'm trying with HP support, with lo luck, each time I speak to support eng, I have to explain the situation to him, and I have to convince him that as per HP this notebook should run for 6-7 hours and I have to send him the links to HP website and finally he tell I will get back to you.
Today I was surprised to know that my support case was closed by HP, simply because they don't have answer to.
So if you're looking for extended battery life to get this machine because simply it will not give you what was announced by HP and also to avoid HP support that the only help you will get "I WILL GET BACK TO YOU"

I was looking for thin and light notebook with extended battery life, my options was to get Asus 10-12 hours battery life or Acer TimeLine 7-8 Battery life, I use the notebook usually for web surfing and remote access to my servers. Hp Pavilion Dm3-1044nr /13.3 in Wxga Brightview Led Backlit (1366 X Review
I have been using this laptop every day for over a month and have had no problems. I paid $417 including shipping and it's one of the best bargains I've ever had. I'm still getting use to the touch pad because it feels slippery.

Cheap Dell D620 Laptop Duo Core with Windows XP
The Dell Latitude line of notebooks are well built business machines. The Latitudes and XPS lines are a tier higher than the entry-level Inspiron Series.
The case is constructed of metal with plastic trim along the LCD monitor. There are 4 USB ports which allow for a variety of peripherals to be attached such as portable hard drives. There is a headphone and microphone jack and an outlet for a monitor. The keyboard is comfortable to the touch. In addition to the mousepad, there is a pointing stick with 2 buttons below the space key, allowing for either to control the cursor. The 'spill proof' keyboard is one of the biggest assets (I have only spilled a drink on it once, where I just wiped off the keyboard without a problem in function).
The WIFI capabilities is reliable and easy to set up. The hard drive is quiet, as is the optical drive. The strike zone hard drive is resistant to light drops.
Performance of the notebook is excellent with the Dual Core processors. This notebook easily handles virus scanning, working on a MS Office document, internet browser and listening to music without any problem. The integrated graphics allows for basic games like Tiger Woods Golf, Mafia, NHL Hockey, the Godfather, for example.
Battery life is very good for the 6 cell (about 4 hours).
One of the greatest attractions that I have for this line of notebooks is the lack of 'bloatware' unnecessary programs that are installed into your computer (trial programs, multiple internet service providers, advertisements, etc).
Overall, with a spill resistant keyboard and drop zone hard drive, this notebook will take the daily knocks of the regular commuter. This is no Panasonic Toughbook but it will survive your daily use.
VERDICT
Highly recommend this notebook.
Let's face it. If Dell built poor quality equipment they wouldn't be in business as long as they have been.

I purchased the D620 for my daughter in college when her 2 yr old HP notebook died due to an overheating problem (long story). After verifying that the D620 worked properly by connecting to the internet and installing XP SP 3, I moved over one of the RAM chips (for a total of 1.5 GB) and the harddrive from the HP. I then installed Windows 7 and recovered her data files (I didn't really expect a college student to use the flash drives that I gave her for backups). Finally, I installed software including Office 7. Throughout the process the D620 performed flawlessly. I tested it by running DVDs, Office apps and videos over the internet (after I set up a wireless connection). This is one fine notebook, very fast and with a good display. Its only "short comings" are obvious from the specs, i.e., no web cam, no media slots and no DVD burner. But these are clearly minor issues given the price.Best Deals for Dell D620 Laptop Duo Core with Windows XP
I didn't have a lot of money to spend on a computer and all of the chain stores that I had gone into to buy a computer did not have the service or the selection that I wanted. I was hesitant to purchase a computer "on-line" but now I am glad that I did. The computer was exactly what I wanted (Amazon gives you more information up front on what you are purchasing than any other place that I had tried), and I received it within two days. I have not had one problem or complaint. Well done.Honest reviews on Dell D620 Laptop Duo Core with Windows XP
I used the same laptop at work for the about the last 3 years, and it is a work horse. I can buy a brand new commercial laptop for couple hundred bucks more, but I wanted the reliability of the professional business laptop. I have to say this used business machine Laptop works well except for 3 problems: First, the battery only lasts 5 minutes, second, the DVD burner drive work sporadically (DVD door doesn't eject consistently, and it doesn't always detect the DVD or CD in it). Handed the laptop to my 11 year old daughter few weeks after purchase (Christmas gift), so I did not find out about these problems until 2 month after purchase. Contacted the seller, but the warrantee had expired after 30 days of purchase, so I have to buy a battery and drive on my own. Third thing, the XP pro operating system was loaded on the computer, but the recovery disks were not included; I hope the hard the hard drive doesn't crash sometime soon.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Dell D620 Laptop Duo Core with Windows XP
To read one of the other reviews one would think the reviewer is talking about a completely different machine. My family has two of these and we have experienced none of the problems that the other reviewer has mentioned. XP is a very stable platform and we'll see if Windows Seven will live up to the hype. As far as poor sound I wonder compared to what? I've had several different laptops and netbooks and they sound tinny compared to the D620. Besides, I hook the machine up to external powered speakers to listen to my music library.Let's face it. If Dell built poor quality equipment they wouldn't be in business as long as they have been.

Review of IBM ThinkPad R60 Notebook/Laptop Windows 7 Core 2 Duo 2GHz 3GB 160GB
I have found this IBM ThinkPad R60 to be exactly what I expected for the price!
Had a problem with the battery, and the vendor was quick to make it right with no hassle at no cost to me.
Found vendor very easy to work with.
Although not new, has a few scuffs and everything was able to get it to do eveything that I want it to do and more.
Good solid construction, and works very well.
Definitely would recommend this product and company to anyone who would like an inexpensive but dependable laptop.
R60 (Lenovo made the R60 for IBM). It has 4 GB of memory vice 3GB and a 120 GB hd.
I've no problems with the machine and the company has been nice about answering questions.

HP Pavilion dv4-1551dx Notebook PC - 14.1" Display / Intel Core 2 Review
My laptop performs all of the functions I request of it with alacrity and accuracy. I am quite pleased and recommend it often. It has given me absolutely no cause for complaint, as of yet, and I consider that a strong endorsement for high-level product approval. It is very lightweight, feels small even, and is also relatively slim. The screen seems small at first, but, like driving a friends automobile, one becomes accustomed to the differences quickly and adapts. I find it handy. Movies, music, office-type tasks, internet, the few games I enjoy and it has a webcam that I haven't tried these things work perfectly. The features packed onto this little notebook are amazing to me. So many well-organized and well-conceived features in such a small package. Don't get one of the inexpensive off-brand batteries if you can possibly avoid doing so. The HP replacements/spares are much better in my experience. I feel quite comfortable and pleased with my investment in this product and most definitely feel comfortable advising whomever it may be that is reading this, if you are considering buying a laptop, the hp pavilion dv4-1551dx would be an excellent choice. It is really so much faster then I expected. Enjoy......
The major flaw of this laptop is that after two years, neither of the laptops will take a charge. The charging port has become loose and now I have to spend about 45 minutes trying to get this computer to charge.
It worked great for a while, but if you are planning on keeping your laptop for more then 2 years I would suggest something else.
The screen's backlight adjustment could be a little better; below maximum, you have to deal with reflections and glare; at maximum, it'll hurt your eyes unless you lean back. Still, it's better than no adjustment at all; my old laptop started giving me Dell's patented "certain number and fuction keys suddenly stop working" syndrome.
The heat from the hard drive worries me a little: it'll get warm to the touch after about an hour or so, to the point where you can feel it through the top of the machine. Of course, it's possible that it is because I've got it on a stand with a Targus Chill Mat beneath it.
The keyboard is a nice size, with good spacing and placement and plenty of space below where you can rest your wrists when you're not typing.. You'd be surprised how much you miss an external keyboard when you travel with it, though.
The built-in "mouse" sucks. I mean, really sucks. I simply turn it off and use an external mouse because it's like trying to use an iPad stylus on a self-checkout screen; totally useless unless you really press down. The cursor bounces all over the place and there's no scrolling capability without wearing out your fingers.
The optical drive is fast enough to play DVDs without having to wait for it to stop play and scan ahead. It is pretty loud, though, since it reads discs at a fairly high rate.
The system itself is pretty good. It loads Windows 7 fast, and only hangs if I really stess it. Mine came with the standard 4GB of RAM, but I can upgrade to 8GB if I want to. The memory's easy to get to, as well; simply unscrew the little panel on the bottom of the laptop and take it off, and you have a clear view of the memory sticks. The integrated graphics card kind of sucks, since it uses system memory, but it's pretty good at 3D rendering, so I can put up with it.
The built-in card reader is a great touch, something I didn't expect. It gives you read problems every once in a while, but nothing serious; sometimes, you have to remove and reinsert a card to get it to detect in, but it's never failed completely.
All in all, it's a good machine for someone who isn't looking for hard-core gaming laptop, but who wants something nicer to look at and use than some Elitebook corporate machine.

Honest reviews on HP Pavilion dv4-1551dx Notebook PC - 14.1" Display / Intel Core 2
I have owned an HP DV4-1551dx for about 2 1/2 years now. I bought it on eBay as used like new. This machine has performed extremely well for me while traveling, home office and personal use. It has hundreds of hours of use. It has been used for 125+ Power Point presentations and 200+ Netflix downloaded movies, iTunes radio and music listening. I have used Roxio 2010 to create more than 150 original disks from pictures. It has Skype and works perfectly for call to relatives in Brazil. I have used it to transfer about 100 LP 33 1/3 RPM records to iTunes. This has been an exceptionally durable laptop. I cloned the hard drive recently and replaced it with another 320 GB drive just in case. I have had several hard drive failures in the past on other computers and it it better to replace them before you need to rather than after they crash! I use it on top of a cooling fan for extended use and blow the dust out of the case and fan every 3 months.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for HP Pavilion dv4-1551dx Notebook PC - 14.1" Display / Intel Core 2
This laptop is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted something small and portable, yet very useful. I use it mainly for surfing the web, but my kids watch movies on it and play online games....... the processing is speedy and the graphics are clear. The only con is that sometimes in bright light there is a glare on the screen.Sunday, June 22, 2014
Reviews of Acer AS5733Z-4851 15.6" Notebook (Dual-Core, 4GB DDR3, 500GB HD
This laptop has made it through 2 years of college for me, which is not a light task I am known for abusing electronics. I have left this laptop in direct sunlight for long periods of time, Plus in frigid cold winters of Michigan it survived. Its been thrown around in my book bag etc... but through all of these demands it remains in tact and fast as ever. The screen has true HD graphics with a remarkable refresh rate for a personal computer. I strongly recommend this laptop, as it has proven to me that Acer is a future brand name for PC'S.
CONS: BATTERY CHARGE , SHOULD LAST LONGER.
ELECTRIC , WIRE PLUGS , SHOULD BE MORE EFFICIENTLY COSTRUCTED. (I AM SORPRISED ABOUT THIS FROM ACER.)

This last two years I've had this laptop have exceeded my expectations but I'm not surprised, I have a good past with Acer computers. I have a desktop as well. I have noticed its gotten slower but probably from my own use. I use this daily and it's almost always on. 75% of the time plugged in. I can still unplug it and get 2 1/2-3 hours of use on battery saver mode (always been this way). It can handle a lot at once but it's not a high end gaming laptop. I can play Sims 3, with no mods, on moderate settings. It plays older games flawlessly though and runs photoshop very well. The only thing I hate is the keyboard. Junk gets under the keys and its hard to clean, which is why I gave it 4 stars. I'm a busy mom to a toddler and three hairy cats so it doesn't take long for stuff to gunk up my keys. Overall I'm happy with my choice to get it. I'm writing this review from it now =]Best Deals for Acer AS5733Z-4851 15.6" Notebook (Dual-Core, 4GB DDR3, 500GB HD

Reviews of Acer AS5534-1121 15.6-Inch Black Laptop - Up to 3.5 Hours of
Bought this laptop to replace an old HP DV6226 because of the great price/performance ratio. As a previos owner of an Acer laptop i wasn't too sure about buying another one but after using it for a while and removing all the unwanted pre-installed software i realize what a great machine it was.
Pros:
Great performance
Travel friendly
Stylish Design
Good battery live (up to 4 hours)
Never gets hot
Really nice keyboard with numeric keypad
Very clear display
Cons:
Touchpad buttons are a little noisy
Too much bloatware installed
I'm very pleased with this laptop, i highly recommend it and for this price you can't go wrong!!
The hinges on the screen are hard and cause too much flexing, braking the connection points.
In order to fix this, you have to take it apart and spend several days of gluing the embedded brass nuts with epoxy resin. You can not buy a replacement shell new, and it is not worth buying it used, it will be just as bad.
1 week later the MB died.
The power LED is on, the CPU-fan is on, but there is no sound (beeps), no screen, no POST.
Good buy, ACER.

THE ACER ASPIRE IS A FANTASTIC LAPTOP. For the price of $500 Acer has 4GB memory which is fast to run any online game, use it for college, or also to do work. It has 320GB which is alot of space for the laptop. To begin with it has a built in webcam which wasn't describe in the product detail at all. In my opinion I myself would rate this laptop a 10 out of 10 because since this laptop will keep me going for a while. The laptop has not caused any problems for the past 2 months. I would recommend it to anyone that would want to buy a new laptop for a cheap and nice price.Best Deals for Acer AS5534-1121 15.6-Inch Black Laptop - Up to 3.5 Hours of
I recently replaced an aging Dell Inspiron with this Acer laptop. It is impressively thin and very fast. Where to begin? With 4 GB memory and a fast, dual processor, this 64 bit computer amazed me. Fast enough for gaming? It would be for me! As another reviewer noted, you do need to remove the "bloatware" and free trial crapola, but there was actually less on this laptop than I had experienced on my last three computers. As a side note, the Windows 7 functions flawlessly and may well be the best Windows iteration ever. Add to all the other features easy DVD burning, and it is easy to see why this Acer has impressed me so much. Having had no experience with Acer, I was a bit leery to purchase. After doing some online research, I decided to give it a try. I am very pleased that I did! Your mileage may vary, but I can comfortably give this unit a 5 star rating.Honest reviews on Acer AS5534-1121 15.6-Inch Black Laptop - Up to 3.5 Hours of
Great laptop. It performs everything I want it to do, very quickly. It is a Windows 7, 64 bit system, so I had to down load a lot of 64 bit drivers to use some of my old software. The networking function works great. I can connect and print from anywhere in my home. Price was great too.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Acer AS5534-1121 15.6-Inch Black Laptop - Up to 3.5 Hours of

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The two previous reviewers have given outstanding reviews on all the techie specs of this HP Envy Laptop. As such, I fear my average-plain-jane-user review is going to pale in comparison but hopefully it'll be helpful to those like me who use laptops but don't get into the nitty-gritty of the electronic.
Ok, so here goes -
I've always like the style and sleekness of HP laptops so it's no surprise that I love this one as well. It's beautifully designed with a smooth black surface that's fingerprint resistant which I love with children in the house!
Relatively lightweight, although still a bit hefty if compared to the ultrabooks or the like.
The colors exhibited in this model are just OUTSTANDING! So bright, crisp, and clear. Absolutely fan-flippin'-tastic for photos, videos, and graphics. Even Skype is more vivid with this laptop!
But then comes the Windows 8...
Allow me to confess right up front that I am not a fan of change, especially if something is working just fine, so I will be a bit jaded in this area. But, in my opinion, Windows 8 is basically a laptop with apps. While I love apps, ON MY PHONE or IPAD, I care nada for them on my computer. Not yet anyway. I spent hours trying to familiarize myself with the app system here and came to the conclusion that I do not like Windows 8. Give me my regular old windows button in the lower left screen that pops up all my programs by name and I'm happy. Hunting for them under an "organized" app system, no way!
In all fairness, however, my 20 year-old college son, thinks it's awesome. He says he loves the apps and thinks it organizes and simplifies things for users. So, maybe I'm just that old dog that can't learn new tricks. :)
If this computer had come with Windows 7, I would have given 5 stars easily. The laptop itself is FABULOUS! But the Windows 8 just wasn't for me.
However, if you're familiar and comfortable with this software I really think the laptop itself is solid. It looks great and has more bells and whistles than I need (if I could only use them!)
That said this is a nice laptop. The keys are easy to press and quiet. Mine luckily came with Windows 7, I had reviewed Windows 8 (W8) at a large retailer with the initials B.B. I was not impressed with W8. W8 is meant for tablets, if you aren't using a tablet or a touch screen then it's a pointless O.S. It can revert to the old W7 mode.
Right out of the box this computer looked for my Home Network Wi-Fi. Found it and set up to use it.
I own a number of laptops, I replace them fairly quickly because I don't like them for whatever reason. This one I got for business, I was unaware it contained a finger print reader for added security which is a definate plus. I got it for a new business I am starting and wanted a laptop different than the others I have. This is my second HP Laptop. I definately remind you to make a rescue/recovery CD a soon as you get it.
The sound by BEATS Audio is suberb for a laptop and of the 10 others I have this beats them all hands down. It even sounds better on the same Sharper Image headphones I was using on my Sony vaio.
I couldn't be happier with this laptop.
The dv6 is a mediocre looking machine for specs on paper; don't let that fool you. This is a capable gaming laptop. This game runs COD4 on midsettings at 50 FPS, which is really nice, and plays Planetside 2 in midsettings at 45 FPS.
I removed a couple bloat (Such as Norton and some weird game program), and freed up startups and services on the msconfiguration via run command, and it is running very smoothly. The fingerprint scanner works flawlessly; I scanned all ten fingers and it works 18 out of 20 trials. Very nice piece of security. The screen is not bad, but I do kind of wished they had it up to like 1600 x 900 like the spec identical HP Envy dv7-7230us. The Beats audio is not bad, though I was disappointed at how quiet it is. At max volume, my phone (Droid Razr Maxx) is still louder, but the quality is fine. Now, as for Windows 8: I honestly have no idea why it is criticized so much. It is not so bad; just give 5 minutes to learn. That's all; as a matter of fact, Windows 8 is more like Windows 7.75; You can still access the original Windows 7 desktop by going to the "Desktop" tile/icon on the metro app starting screen. And if you need to access the settings, control panel, power, etc., then all you need to do point the mouse to the upper or lower right corner of the screen, and it will give you those options. I believe the reason why Windows 8 is so heavily criticized is because many, many people don't realize this, and chose to run choppy emulators online. I honestly love this laptop; if you are on a budget of less than $600, than this is a MUST buy! While there are more expensive relatives to this, this is actually pretty great for the money. Value > price. If you have any questions, please, feel free to ask them on the comments below!
UPDATE: Just want to point out that I was really wrong on the framerates... On Planetside 2 it actually runs around 20-30 FPS, but the others are around right. And also, the "midnight brush" material isn't the strongest.. It is very easily scratchable, and I wish they had some kind of case available for the top. Overall the laptop is still running very well! No complaints yet other than the really scratchable material on the top!
The next feature I am most impressed with is the LED screen which has amazing depth to it. I love viewing photos and videos as they look even better on this HP Envy dv6-7210us 15.6-Inch Laptop than on my HDTV! This in itself is amazing as my 52" HDTV is always commented on by the different cable carriers of how my tv makes their feed look the BEST they have ever seen! Well this laptop adds even more depth and crispness to the photos and videos than that with its AMD Radeon HD 7640G Discrete-Class graphics and up to 3053MB total graphics memory! Amazing! This laptop has Beats Audio with the speakers the length of the laptop on both sides of the hinge and sound very good for any portable electronic device. Underneath the speaker screens is Beats Audio quad speakers and a subwoofer. Webcam also delivers a great video chat experience. The touchpad as well feels great to touch and use and includes the normal mouse moves including double tap, 2finger scroll, pinch or stretch to zoom, top-edge swipe to display app commands, right-edge swipe to display the charms (search, share, start, devices, and settings) and left edge swipe to switch between open apps. You can quickly return to the start screen by pressing the windows logo key on the keyboard.
HP SimplePass is a plus for me and I believe the scanner on this HP Envy dv6-7210us 15.6-Inch Laptop is more durable than previous models I have owned. I set up this laptop so that when I scan my right index finger, it launches my favorite website which is Amazon! I like that I can use my fingerprints as my passwords which I believe makes my laptop more secure from prying eyes and stealing hands and just makes access easier and faster for me.
This is my first introduction to Windows 8 and of course there is a learning curve but so far I like it. I like that it is linked to my Microsoft account which means that every time I sign into a Windows 8 device, my settings and custom tweaks will come with me and be applied. Because Microsoft accounts are linked to SkyDrive storage, Office 2013 will back up automatically uploading to the cloud. Windows Media Center will not be included for free in Windows 8 but right now through January 31, 2013, you can request a free product key for it at the microsoft windows website.
FAST! FAST! FAST! Using a 2nd Gen AMD Quad-Core A8-4500M Accelerated Processor with 6GB installed memory on 750GB 5400RPM hard drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection in Windows 8 really creates a fast machine. I have the fastest boot-up experience I've ever had on a laptop or desktop. Set-up was the fastest and most intuitive I've ever had. 3 of its 4 USB ports are 3.0! USB 3.0 is capable of transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps (gigabits per second); that's a little over 10 times faster than USB 2.0's 480Mbps (1,000Mbps equals 1Gbps).
The Amazon listing currently says 2GB RAMM in one place and 6GB RAMM in another place; 6GB is how much The laptop shows in the View Basic Information About Your Computer Screen.

This laptop arrived extremely fast which was great and it didn't take long to get up and running. There are some features I lovethe finger print reader is one of them, I appreciate the added security and it's easier than typing in a password. And the computer itself seems to be greatit's everything we were looking for. However, at this point I am completely unhappy with it and I think I have to blame Windows. Even in the desk top mode I struggle to find anything I need, then when I find it I have trouble using the program and often times can't even minimize or escape out of what I'm in. I think this software would be great if I were using it on a tablet, but I'm not and don't want to feel like I am, I have a tablet and iPhone for thatthis is supposed to be my computer and I want it to run like one. I'm trying hard to get used to it and learn it, but I'm frustrated now. I'll update my review if any progress is made, positive or negative, but since I find myself avoid this laptop we might be at a standstill. However, if you're familiar and comfortable with this software I really think the laptop itself is solid. It looks great and has more bells and whistles than I need (if I could only use them!)

This is a great computer for business just because of one feature alone, the finger print reader. I like this alot, you can have it "read" any one of your 10 fingers. I suggest at least two, one on each hand in case you can't use one of the hands. That said this is a nice laptop. The keys are easy to press and quiet. Ok, first off, I want to say that upon receiving the package, this laptop is extraordinarily light. When I opened up the package, I was holding a very, very elegant looking machine. It is beautiful; the brush midnight finish is one of the few laptop design cover that isn't a finger print magnet; it is awesome. So, now, lets get down to review:The dv6 is a mediocre looking machine for specs on paper; don't let that fool you. This is a capable gaming laptop. Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I selected this laptop through an Amazon Vine offer thinking what is not to love about this laptop, but let me tell you it has beaten all my expectations. Toshiba Satellite C55-A5249 15.6" LED Notebook - Intel Celeron Review
Plenty of hard drive space. Its not a gaming pc. Display is excellent. Fast enough for basic surfing and everyday use. Toshiba is among the best pcs you will find. My wife has one running windows xp and it still working. Toshiba is the equivalent to tonka in toys.
PS:Videos online strangely show GTA 4 and Saints Row 4 runing on the Intel HD Graphics Family Edition at 2.8 GHz and this PC clocks at 1.8 ghz. So Maybe high end games will work smoothly?

This laptop excels at all simple task, including watching HD accelerated movies to working on an Microsoft Office document. The device comes with the normal version of Windows 8 pre-installed (which in some way kinda sucks), but the start menu issue can easily be fixed with downloading a 3rd-party start menu(Google "Start Menu 8") that will fit fine on the desktop of the OS. Working on task with the laptop computer i have not found any slow downs or crashes in progress. The laptop is great, If you do ever buy one there is a lot of bloat on the laptop, but it can easily be removed by uninstalling. This computer has an Intel Celeron processor and a Intel HD Graphics Family Edition which is not built for high end gaming, but indie games via Steam and many PC classics like GTA Vice City run well and smooth on the computer. This computer has a very crisp display and runs basic gaming and normal task very well. The camera is a budget camera, but is not bad. Its a very good computer, I would recommend it to anyone.PS:Videos online strangely show GTA 4 and Saints Row 4 runing on the Intel HD Graphics Family Edition at 2.8 GHz and this PC clocks at 1.8 ghz. Best HP Pavilion dv7t QE Laptop PC, Intel i7-2670QM 2.2GHz, 17.3" Deals
This came close to being a 5 star purchase. It's a fast quad core system with 8G of memory, bought here for $999. The graphics are not top notch (and that drags the Windows Experience Index down to 5.4), but for my purposes it's fine. I needed 4 fast cores, and this delivers.
The keyboard, though, is frustrating beyond belief. It's about full size, and the touch is ok, but some genius at HP decided on three massive blunders:
1) the up and down arrow keys are half size, and difficult to hit, unless perhaps you're a six year old girl with unusually small hands. I'm an adult male with large hands.
2) The function keys, F1 through F12, are a mainstay in many, many software applications. F5 is the "do it" key in a wealth of software refresh in most browsers, compile and run in many IDEs. F3 is "search again" in many tools. F1 is often Help. I use them all the time.
For some reason, HP decided to make those keys half-height, and do double duty. If you want F3, you have to type Function-F3. The F3 key, by itself, brightens the display. I have no idea why the manufacturer thought that brightening the display was a more common operation than searching for something; I only know that after fifteen years of using function keys as the quick way to get work done, I don't like having them buried under a bunch of keys to adjust brightness and volume.
3) The insert key has been given the same treatment as the F keys. The key combination for Insert is Function-PrintScreen. And it's also half-height. As someone who for years has used control-insert, shift-insert and shift-delete to move text around, it's unusable. I'm forcing my fingers to learn control-C, V and X instead, and I don't like it.
For a laptop that's clearly aimed at power users you don't need 4 cores and 8G of memory for most users the decision to cripple power user shortcuts is a very odd one. The simple solution is to plug in a USB keyboard with a key layout that you like, but that's not a great solution for a portable laptop.
Otherwise a fine machine. Not much bloatware, over 600G of disk free when you get it, adequate USB, decent screen.

This is so nice to get my hands on! The finger printer reader makes it so I dont have to remember any passwords anymore! The graphics are great, and the widi is very easy to set up (with not stutter). And did I say it was fast? WOW! The only complaint I had about it was that the graphics card was toast on arrival but was taken care of by HP and got a 5 yr warranty for my troubles.Best Deals for HP Pavilion dv7t QE Laptop PC, Intel i7-2670QM 2.2GHz, 17.3"

This laptop is everything they say it is and more...I got it 3 weeks ago and love it....the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the Wifi.....I am 21 feet from my rounter and could not keep a connection for more then 20 minutes at a time....so I bought a cheap wifi booster for 30 dollars (plug and play booster)....its been a few days and everything is perfect...no lost connections .. if your a wifi junkie beware, this may not be the laptop for you....aside from the wifi this laptop is fun, its fast (really fast) and it looks great...I love the fingerprint password thing and all the little extras...the "quick start" button is pretty cool....its like an extra power switch that you can push and be online in about 35-40 seconds.. ( I don't need it, but it works and its nice to know I can if I wanted to be)....for under a 1000 dollars its a great laptop....Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for HP Pavilion dv7t QE Laptop PC, Intel i7-2670QM 2.2GHz, 17.3"
