There is soooo much I can say about this laptop.

Let's see where to start...

1. Arrived on time straight from Amazon in the Sony Vaio Box.

2. Packaged really securely, nothing difficult.

3. Very beautiful. Much prettier in person :-)

4. It's not heavy, but it's not light either lol.

5. I was a bit terrified of learning how to use Windows 8, but luckily there is a "Desktop" tab on the homepage that will take you back to the Windows 7 set up, for those who are afraid of Windows 8 like I am!

6. The "Left" and "Right" click buttons that are usually on the touchpad are not visible but they are there. You just have to press the left and right sides of the pad and you'll feel them.

7. Isolated keyboard is nice because the keys are soft almost as if they're padded. They're not hard, make your fingers feel like they're touching soft rubber or something similar (I can't find the right material to compare the keys to lol)Also, the keyboard lights up automatically when a key is touched. This feature can obviously be turned off and on by the user.

8. There is a whole set up with user names and passwords and color customization when you first turn the computer on. It takes about 10-15 mins.

9. My battery went up to about 4 hours and 4 minutes at only 75% I think it was....so when I fully charge it I'll see if it goes up even higher.

10. I've literally only had it for 13 hours so far haha! And I'm IN LOVE!!!

11. OHHH HOW COULD I FORGET? SONY made me proud of them for this one: SPEAKERS are TREMENDOUSLY L-O-U-D!!!! you could host a party with using just the speakers haha! Went on youtube while the television was on and it blasted out the tv! So, if you can find a GOOOOOOOD quality external speaker, you'll never need headphones again (only if used to not disturb others)

12. Gosh...I think that's all that needs to be said now.....the layout is one that users have to get used to....luckily my curiosity allowed me to click "desktop" and I was back to the Windows 7 that I know and love lol (so no mental breakdowns for me lol)But I do like how you can switch between both Windows with the click of one button. The button with the 4 squares next to the left Alt button. I think it's called the "Windows" button lol. (duh)

13. But yeah....I HIGHLY recommend this laptop to any and everyone. I have had my SONY dvd player for over 2 years and my hp laptop was tripping out a year after I had it, and finally just STOPPED working after 3 yrs, so I said, "Hey, if my dvd player is to little, but carries such a loud sound and has such good quality, I'm gonna save some money and buy myself a new SONY laptop"...and SONY you did NOT disappoint! 5 stars :-)

I was extremely picky when I decided to buy a laptop since it is my first one. I have read numerous reviews that had actually helped me lean away from many other laptops that I thought were perfect, so I hope that this review will be just as helpful. I had bought it because it seemed to fit my needs and was very up-to-date with plenty of hard drive space and RAM. I thought I had a good grasp of what I was getting, but there were many little things that actually happened to work in my favor. I've had this laptop for about a month now, and here are the facts that I find most useful for potential buyers:

To begin with, this laptop carries only Windows 8, and cannot be converted back and forth between 7 or 8 (at least not out of the box), as I had seen on reviews of almost identical model (and incorrectly assumed this one had that feature as well). If you have never used this version, I would strongly suggest reviewing Windows 8 before purchasing this laptop since it it very different than any other Windows version (it is strongly based on apps). I was extremely upset to discover this since I had an xp computer and very used to the format. After getting used to it though (and deleting a lot of the pointless apps that were already on there) it is actually a very handy and time-efficient way to maneuver between programs, just my opinion though.

As one of the negative comments mentioned, the product IS extremely poorly packaged. It consisted of a lot of space one crumpled sheet of paper, and then the cardboard box that contained the laptop. I am by no means surprised that that reviewer received his broken. Fortunately, mine was completely fine. Unlike that review, the laptop looks amazing and certainly does not feel like it is made from the same material as "a plastic spoon," as I believe he described it.

I have read on other Vaio laptops, that the touch pad is just awful, which I confirmed when testing out another model. I didn't really mind, since I liked mice better anyway. Luckily, this touch pad is more than I could ask for. It is fairly sensitive, so you barely have to touch it to click something, but all these features can be adjusted as well. I really like the two-finger scroll feature. In some of the laptops I've used, this function is awful and scrolls halfway down the page with barely moving (and it was a function issue, not a sensitivity issue), but it is really nice on this one. I don't even think I'll need a mouse at this point because the pad is basically just as versatile.

The light-up keyboard is very nice, I just wanted to point that out. The battery life is bout 4 hours when fully charged, and that's with my screen up to full brightness, since it seems a little dark at any other setting. The speakers are pretty quiet. I can have them up to the max and its nothing; I anticipated that though, and knew I wanted external speakers even before buying this laptop. Camera works just fine. I know this, but you need a special program, such as Windows Movie Maker, to turn the camera on or record anything since nothing of this sort is already installed. I had not known this and not sure if that's common, but it's really not a huge deal since Movie Maker is free.

A very specific and personal comment though. Windows 8 is not compatible with the Chrome Toolbox Extension, which I liked specifically for asking me every time to close all tabs when multiple are open. Without it, Chrome just closes the window, and I've mistakenly done that a few times. But that one slight downfall for me to Windows 8.

Just a personal preference that made me really happy: The top of the laptop can be opened without holding the bottom down. :D

The time it takes to turn this computer on/off (about 4 seconds) is incredible. Another pretty huge plus is that this laptop never gets hot on the bottom. It is always either neutral or very slightly warm even after hours of use. In addition, it is also a very quiet laptop.

There was some bloatware that I deleted (I had to look up what was needed or not, since the list was pretty extensive), but like I said before pre-installed apps were pretty bad. I uninstalled nearly everything from the main screen.

Lastly, Kaspersky antivirus program is downloaded as a trial for 30 days. It was nice at first, until every time I closed Google chrome and re-opened it, it stated: "chrome did not close properly, would you like to restore the last session?" This led to the fact that I couldn't even save any Favorites to the browser, because it supposedly didn't shut down correctly, and were deleted when I opened it back up. Well this got me really upset until I realized it was this program. I got rid of it (since it was a trial anyway) and the problem was solved.

I think that's about it, feel free to ask any more questions! Sorry if I wrote way too much, but I believe anyone buying this laptop should know these facts.

Well designed and nicely priced. The processor is nice and fast with the "turbo" feature makes this a great mid level laptop that works as fast as a expensive +$1000.00 laptop. I use it for making music and DJing and I have had NO CRASHES nor problems. I highly recommend this laptop. HDMI port; Three USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0; Start up is very fast! Dual core makes switching programs or working on two programs at once easy and fast. Doesn't heat up to my surprise, you could actually have it on your lap for long periods at a time and does not cause discomfort. The built in speakers are ok for personal use, do not expect it to blow the roof of or fill a living room. Back lit keyboard is nice and can be adjusted to turn off if not in use for "X" amount of time that you tell it to. Battery consumption is ABOUT RIGHT... The Win 8 OS is pretty cool once you get used to the "APP" style of working with the laptop... I recommend not to but the extended warr. with anyone other than SONY since they offer it cheaper and you know it will be good since it is direct... Anyways I recommend this laptop hands down... Thanks, I hope this helped... ~ DJ George Farjeat

Honest reviews on Sony VAIO E15 Series SVE15126CXP 15.5-Inch Laptop (Pink)

The product arrived in perfect condition. I have owned Sony Vaio's before and love their aesthetic look and also their functionality, the only con to Vaio's is the fact that they are very fragile so I would recommend it for someone who can actually take a lot of care of them. The operating system is fantastic, windows 8 is better than windows 7 or vista or any other OS you might have seen before. It does have a visual impact at first that might scare a lot of people, but its simple to use once you get used to it. The lack of a start menu is not big deal, the start menu has simply become the metro "app" looking start screen of win 8. Most programs run on a windows 8 view mode, if you do not like that view you can easily switch it over to "desktop mode" (same view as win 7) such as with Google chrome. For some programs where you cant switch such as Skype there are two versions of it, you can have the win 8 version of Skype or the "desktop" version of it. As for speed, the computer, processor and RAM is marvelous. I have not tried playing games on it but my old Sony Vaio ran FEAR 2 and COD so I am pretty sure this new one with higher specs must run it perfectly wit no lag. So far the screen has an amazing resolution, the keyboard feels smooth to the touch, the computer fan is quiet and it does not over heat. I bought this computer for college and it seems it will be simply perfect! This computer is simply marvelous for the price it has!

***EDIT 01/15/13***

The computer had some issues with hardware. It stated it had an error and requested me to restart it to fix the issue. Upon restart it scanned for errors and claimed it was repairing drive (C:). The "repair" started looping. I tried accessing safe mode to try and restore the computer but it would not let me access safe mode. I accessed the settings of the computer and tried resetting the BIOS, but had no results since the looping continued. The only option I had left was a reset to its factory settings which in fact resolved my issue, but I lost all my settings and information.

***EDIT 01/28/13***

Again my computer encountered problems with hardware. This tame when the computer requested a restart it DID scan and repair drive (C:). Upon restart it informed me the problem was some drives and system files from Windows. It seems that the error is not from Sony or with the laptop but rather with Windows 8 drivers. I am currently out of the country and will not return to the USA until August or September, but upon calling Sony they said that once I am in the country I can send the computer in for servicing and they will fix my driver issue. I am planning to buy an extended warranty on this computer just in case to avoid in complications in the future, Sony informed me that I can purchase the extended warranty up until my 11th month of purchase of the laptop. At least this time the error was fixed and the computer did NOT have to be reset to factory settings. I shall continue to update in case any other issues arise or if the issue with the drivers persist.

***EDIT 02/24/2013***

A month has gone by with no issues, no Blue Screen's of Death no driver errors. I removed the error message notification system that came with the Sony computer. I started to realize every single time I had an issue with the computer before happened right after the error message notification system flag popped up. Disabling seemed to solve the issue (now I really do believe it is a problem related to a missing file or some sort of issue with the notifications of errors). I will still send it in to Sony once I am in the USA to get it checked and hopefully fixed so that the computer can run perfectly even when the error message notification system is enabled. I will continue to eidt if any other problems arise or the original problem persists.

When I got this laptop, it was unbelievably awesome! First, I like the color. Instead of black, Sony had multiple colors laid out for customers to choose in their favor. Second, the resolution quality. When I watch movie, I feel like I don't need the blue ray since the quality of the screen is so great! This laptop is also quiet and super fast.

The keyboard is smooth.. I just cannot live without this laptop.

The only thing it needs to be fixed is probably the camera from Windows 8.

Anyway, I have no regret to choose this pink Sony laptop because it seems no different from Mac, and it is lot cheaper.

Purchased this PC on closeout at Walmart for $270.00. It has handled everything I have thrown at it well so far. Those things include video format conversion, some gaming (The Sims, and some other first person shooter games), and lots of high profile video playback.

I have not noticed any issues with overheating as I did with my previous laptop made by HP. The screen is very bright and sharp. Battery life is good. Just a good all around computer, and incredible for the price. It feels really sturdy, and I like that it is not a huge finger print magnet like pcs covered in glossy finsihes. I really love that it has all Intel products inside. I am not a fan of AMD, NVidia, etc since they have given trouble on almost ever PC I have owned.

Less than stellar bits include speakers that are decent, but not super rich sounding like some higher end models. They keyboard has a nice layout, and good key travel. It also looks cool. It is a raised "floating" chiklet style. I only mention this as a possible downer because you will want to be mindful not to leave the keyboard exposed for long periods of time in a dirty environment. Because the keys are raised it is easier for junk to get under the keys. It is easy to clean it out with some canned air, or just by blowing on it! But still something to be mindful of. Lastly, the mouse is multitouch, which is nice especially as more and more software is optimized for such devices. But it takes getting used to, and I recommend that you go through the pointing device settings to adjust the sensitivity to your liking.

bought this about 8 months ago from walmart the 1st 3 weeks the computer ran fine and i had no issues other than i noticed it got hot fairly easily(standard acer issue) and the keyboard was stiff here and there. within the next month i decided to play some games...., when i mean games i mean skyrim and halflife2 not chess. anyway it played them fine but 1hour in to either game and the system went black from overheating, i figured it was because of using it on my lap(still dont get how youre not supposed to use a laptop on your lap)tried it on a desk and it still overheated. i decided to use a cooling mat but to no avail it was too weak and i said to hell with if i pulled an old wind dance window fan and put it under it, luckly it works...kinda the things a bit ugly lol. anyway after i "fixed" that issue i noticed that a few keys were jamming constantly, this is an engineering flaw produced by a moron, this keyboard is one of the worst ive seen, it is a raised system on standard a standard styled plastic spring with no dust guard and plenty of space for hair wires/cables/crumbs and whatever to fall into it, only way to clean it without removing the keys would be alot of canned air, when looking closer at the springs they may look standard but they are much cheaper and very fragile, they also come apart easily causing jammed keys, which if forced will break and bend the springs.... obviously not good and rather frustrating. the next issue that i still have is ive filled the hd about 180gb so far and its started to lagg horribly during load up, ive even uninstalled and prevented unnecessary programs from running on startup but its not working, im asuming the hd is going bad i have yet to finish my first year so atm im waiting for it to finally die and if it doesnt then im going to tear it apart and build a liquid cooling system for it along with get it a much more reliable hd hopefully built better than the current anyway thats my 2 cents if you still wanna buy it i dont suggest any decent quality games on it. also on another note buy a pc from someone that alows a 90day return policy not walmart....

I bought this laptop after previously owning an expensive, Sony Vaio which had a lot of features that I didn't use.

That fell and broke and I found the cost of replacement parts to be excessive, so instead, I decided to purchase a more cost effective system.

I am more that pleased with this purchase. It is stable and efficient as Acer bought the eMachines brand. So I wasn't worried about this laptop being durable as that's what Acer laptops are known for.

The 2.2 Ghz Intel Pentium T4400 processor is an upgrade over the T3200 I had on the Vaio and the increase in processing speeds is noted and appreciated. Windows 7 is a joy to use and I love it compared to Vista. Everything is so EASY on Win7.

3GB of RAM feels like the 4GB I had on the Vaio, so when I finally do upgrade this eMachine to 4GB this system is gonna FLY!

I don't use the webcam or mic alot, so I am glad I didn't have pay for one. I do use the multi-card reader and the 2 usb ports don't bother me because if I do need more than 2 ports, which I don't at this time, I can just purchase a hub.

I am so happy I got this system for less than $380.00 inclusive of shipping (yes, $380 has the shipping in it).

Also, big up to the vendor, EDeals4U. My boyfriend is jealous of my laptop and wants one. So if you do get more units in stock, I'll be sure to grab one.

I am totally excited about my laptop.

ok, have only had this laptop 3 days. NO problems out of box...so far I do love the Win 7. Love the internet functions, wireless and not having all those IE boxes on the bottom task bar. This computer seems like a speed demon compared to my old laptop. Great for farming...lol. I do wish the keyboard was centered..due to the number pad, the keyboard and touchpad are off center. Need a bit of time to get used to this. Also, the keys are very dark..wish it had a back lit keyboard, glow in the dark or bright numbers on the keys. if you type at night, aaarghhh. I'm ok with letters, but the numbers are killing me. Also, the delete and insert keys are in odd place. Wide screenvery nice! No camera or microphone, which I knew about when I purchased. Everything else is as stated on the description of the product. Have not tried to hook up to TV yet, but see the connections for tv and the card reader for camera. The seller does not provide tracking info which upset me at first. I did get a notice from amazon the item shipped the very next morning after I ordered it, paid the basic rate and it did get here in the time specified...I just could not track it. So far, so good. would purchase again for the price!

I bought this laptop for my daughter for a graduation gift, she absolutely loves it. This laptop is soo much faster than one that I bought for myself 2 1/2 yrs ago (for the same price). Windows 7 home prem is way better and more user friendly than the vista home basic that I have on mine. Starting up is super fast and surfing the web is so much more fun when you don't have to wait for the pages to load up. We did have a problem with our USB port, a piece broke off inside...we contacted the vendor and was given a repair # and info and was asked to send it in for repair. Sent it on a saturday, they received it on the following tuesday and we got it back the following tuesday all fixed (we were out of the cost to send it to them $36). I have no regrets buying this laptop.

Honest reviews on eMachines Black 15-inch eME725-4520 Laptop

My son is pretty smart on what he wanted for school. So we did our research for what he was looking for at a price I could afford. This eMachine sure fit the bill. My son says he absolutely loves it and loves how fast it is. He didn't want a small screen at all, so this was a good choice. He's been using it everyday for school. I'm sure it will be great through High School. I've had an eMachine in the past and was very happy so I'm sure this will be no different.

This is a great laptop. It has all the features I need, plus more. High quality picture and sound. It is a large laptop, so it's heavy to carry but, I wanted the bigger laptop for home use. I can recommend this, unless your planning on taking a laptop on the go. You would be better off with a smaller, lighter weight one. Have only had this for a few weeks and it's become my "go to" computer. It doesn't have the battery life that some do. That is the only downfall, but it doesn't affect my usage, because it is used in same spot most times and can be plugged in.

Pros:

Price

Gaming specs Laptop

BluRay Player (read only)

Asus's 2 year Warranty

Easy Upgrade accessability (found out it has a 2nd HD casing to add another one)

Palm Rest stays cool to the touch in long use

Cons:

Mediocre Keyboard (Feels flimpsy but duable)

No usb 3.0

clicker on the mouse feels plasticky

Aluminium body looks plastic

Access cover for the back of the computer feels that you can break it easily

Noticed that The power brick (from the ac plug) gets really hot

After looong long decision (compared and researched) if I was gonna buy this; I was so happy I did decide to get cuz this Laptop exceeded my expectations. Price and specs of the computer was the deciding factor that got me to buy this.

The computer was fast and the display was great. There some Bloatware but they are removable. The feel and body of the computer is somewhat on a Midrange level but the performance and what's inside the computer is excellent which you can definitely use it as a gaming pc.

I Highly Recommend this Laptop (if your looking for these features; ease of use, internet, fast for multitasking and ease of upgrading)

Best Deals for ASUS K73SV-DH51 17.3-Inch Versatile Entertainment Laptop (Mocha)

I'm using this computer to write the review. I'm not much of a technophile, but I've owned several laptops of varying makes, models, and abilities, and I can say right now just from using this one for the last hour, it's one of the best I've ever owned.

I'll give you the cons first:

It's HUGE. If you plan on buying a computer that you can take places with you, this is probably not the best choice for you. This behemoth will be far more compatible with your desk than your backpack. Also, and this is just because I'm used to smaller laptops and therefor smaller keyboards, the keyboard on this thing, while sturdy and easy to use, is a little wider than the average computer and you need to reach for a few keys. You can get used to that very quickly, though. It's not a chiclet style, which I prefer, but it feels solid underneath my fingers. Also, the usb port on the right side seems a little tight. It was pretty difficult getting the receiver for my wireless mouse in. If you use the usb very often it could prove to be a problem down the line.

Pros:

Sturdy Keyboard. Clear, not-glossy screen. Nice speaker, from what I've heard so far. And it's POWERFUL. The specs on this thing look good on paper, look great in action. I'm coming off of an i3 processor and I can see a clear difference. I went through the usual routine of uninstalling and installing my regular programs, and I managed to go through it in about half the time it normally takes. I'm really looking forward to putting the graphics card to work. I bought this used, but Amazon, as always, delivers in spades. They said it was like new, and I couldn't tell if it had ever actually been used, except for a slight smudge on the mousepad, and the blank screen offering to do a factory restore when I booted up. On top of that, since it's used {I'm guessing} there was absolutely NO bloatware.

All in all, I'm extremely pleased and excited with my new gamer laptop. I'll post a new update in a few months, 'cause one of the things I want when looking through reviews is how the laptops hold up over time. I'll let you know. For now, though, I would recommend this laptop without a second thought. Even at market price it's worth every penny.

As a college student on a budget, I really needed a computer that would do many tasks on the road without hurting the wallet. I have a prehistoric 7-8 year old Dell Dimension E510 desktop that is super slow. So, I made the decision to buy a laptop under $400 yet still faster than my desktop.

I set my eyes on this laptop from a local electronics store. I compared specs, from the size and weight, to the nitty features like the number of USBs. And so, here I have it.

Let's start off with the design.

The design of this notebook is, well, plastic. However, it isn't cheap plastic. The materials used are actually pretty good for its price point. The notebook is nice and rounded around the corners and the thickness of this notebook is about one inch. Now, most notebooks for this price point would be much thicker...Around 1.3in-1.4in, but Dell managed to squeeze everything in 1 inch. This is pretty darn good considering the tools this notebook provides. On the left side of the computer you have a headphone/microphone jack, 3 USB (2 USB 3.0) (1 USB 2.0), Ethernet, HDMI cable, and a power outlet. On the left side you have the optical drive and one more USB port (2.0). So the total amount of USBs this notebook has is 4. 4 USB ports, 2 of which are 3.0. USB 3.0 is relatively new for the market, and this allows much quicker transfer speeds compared to the 2.0s. However, most computers at this price point do not have USB 3.0s, or if they do, it would only be one or two. But keep in mind that this notebook has 4 USB ports. And at this price point, most if not all computers only have about 2 or 3. The optical drive is also a neat feature. For a 1 inch laptop that has an optical drive is pretty impressive considering the price. Most notebooks that are 1 inch or less usually skip the optical drive. Now, the bad thing about the thinness of this notebook is that it does not have a VGA port. You might need a HDMI to VGA port adapter for that. However, considering VGA's thickness and the thinness of notebooks that are coming out each year, VGA is bound to be obsolete due to the benefits of HDMI.

On the interior, the notebook has a LARGE track pad. And this is good especially when it is running on windows 8 (I'll get to that later).

Below the track pad, there are two left and right buttons. These buttons feel and sound cheap but that is not to be unexpected. When running, the track pad get quite warm. You really can't fault the computer for this because this is a one inch notebook. Since the ram sticks are essentially below the track pad, prepare yourself to have warm fingers. The keyboard is an island style keyboard that are evenly spaced. The key travel is okay. After writing a 5-6 page essay. It's also got a 10 key number pad. However, I do wish that number lock had a tiny light located on the button like the caps lock does. As I'm typing, I sometimes reach over to the number lock while attempting to backspace. One minor complaint is keyboard flex towards the F8-F10 keys, not a big deal since these keys aren't often used. Also, like other reviewer have mentioned before. This computer has a sharp lip. As you are typing, the sharp lip is somewhat irritating. Doesn't hurt to take out a fine grit sand paper is smooth out that lip.

Lastly, the spacing between the keys have a glossy finish. I notice that this attracts dust and requires occasional cleaning.

As for the hardware,

You get 500gb of storage but only 456gb of that storage is usable (the non-usable storage has to be used for the operating system. It runs on 4gb of ram and although it is sufficient, you may want to upgrade to 6 or 8 gigs of ram as you load more programs. But if you're an average web browser, 4 gigs is good enough. To just give you a idea at idle, it is using about 46% of the computers ram. The computer has one extra slot. Downside is that this computer only supports up to 8 gigs of ram DDR3 PC-12800 (you can't fault Dell for the 8GB of max ram since the processor can only handle 8GB). Upside is that when you throw in that extra ram slot, it will give you extra performance due to the dual channel configuration. After removing all the bloatware and Windows finally settled in after dozens of updates this notebook starts up well under a minute. Considering a startup to be when the computer starts to idle.

-by the way, uninstall the additional trial anti-virus. Windows 8 already has Defender and so that antivirus will just eat up your resources, I think it comes with Kaspersky or McAfee-

The operating system,

Now, I'm coming from Windows XP and 7, to be honest...Windows 8 is actually pretty cool. However, if you're an old geezer who likes the traditional interface, Win 8 probably wouldn't be a great option. Anyway, the big benefit of this laptop that allows you to enjoy Windows 8 without the use of a touch screen is the large track pad. This Dell has a 4 and 1/2 inch track pad and using multi gestures features makes it extremely easy.

Of course, you can always disable the Windows 8 start up and have it behave like Windows 7. (Look up Windows 8 RetroUI) Other than that, the OS would definitely benefit with a touch screen but without it the system is still enjoyable.

Battery life,

On a full charge, I get around three to four hours of regular internet browsing.

Now for the thinness of this laptop, this computer has a 4 cell battery vs the 6 cell that are in most laptops. Under intense radio loading such as streaming, it will drop to 2 hours...Maybe 3. Keep in mind; you do not want to torture your batteries. The lithium ion batteries used in modern laptops do not like to be charged and discharged abruptly as this will diminish battery life. But, I'm willing to sacrifice 2 cells for a thinner and lighter laptop than have a big and heavy 6 cell.

Screen:

15.6 inches, 1366x768 glossy.

Screen resolution isn't an issue here since most laptops--especially at this price point, have this type of resolution. The problem I commonly have is the viewing angles. This Dell uses a TNF panel, which is offers a distortion of colors when it isn't at the right angle.

As for the glossy finish, well, it sucks. It still amazes me why computer corporations still use a glossy finish. The glossy finish and the bad viewing angles makes it somewhat of an unpleasant experience.

The WLED screen is bright but the colors could use more saturation.

Webcam:

It is equipped with a 1 megapixel camera.

After using Skype, the picture quality is pretty good.

If I compared it with my other Lenovo G560 which has a 0.3 megapixel camera, the difference is like light and day.

Processor

Okay, so it doesn't have TurboBoost or 4-way processing.

I have using an Intel Pentium Processor on a Lenovo notebook on Windows 7 and it's pretty good. It gets through most tasks however you must know your limitations.

Considering the computers size, weight, and battery configuration, the processor is clocked at 1.8ghz on dual core. I have previously used a Pentium 4 @ 3GHz (a single core processor) and this laptop is significantly faster considering the dual core. Out of box, it scored a 4.7 on the Windows Experience Index. After everything got settled in with the way I liked it, it dropped to a 4.6. Using my way of testing the processor speed, I calculated Pi (Using SuperPi) to one million digits and it did it in 21 seconds. Not bad considering my Dell Desktop does it in 43 seconds... It handles HD streaming off YouTube without problems however when you stream in 720p you CPU usage hovers around 40-60%. Yet, doesn't give you a lot of room of other tasks.

Gaming? Well, not much. Don't expect to play WoW or Crisis. It should handle basic games.

I was able to play RuneScape on the highest screen settings (other than full screen) with the use of their client rather than the browser. The CPU usage hovers around 80-90%. Game play was still smooth considering it is a 3D game. However, with 80-90% usage, again, does not leave much room for other tasks.

Upgrades:

The only upgrades you can do to this laptop is RAM and hard drive. The stock hard drive runs at 5400rpm and although it is pretty quick, a solid state would be pointless because you'd be most likely dissatisfied with SSD's price and storage (until they get cheaper). If 500gb is too little, a 7200 rpm hard drive won't hurt.

The computer comes with 4gb of ram. Although this is sufficient for basic tasks, it isn't configured as dual channel. Filling that extra DIMM slot will give you better memory storage as well as graphics performance. So why not do it?

The CPU/Processor--unfortunately, cannot be upgraded. This is because it is a Ultra Low Voltage Processor (ULV) that is soldered onto the motherboard. This is a big down side since later down the road, you can't upgrade to a used processor at a significantly low price.

It's portable, offers a large track pad, good keys, and is loaded with 4 USBs and an optical drive @ just one inch. Overall, this is a great laptop but I wouldn't consider this to be a everyday user. (I use it as a primary since I'm coming from a prehistoric computers, in fact this computer is twice as fast than my old desktop) The processor is the caveat. If you have the option, go for their higher end "i Series" of Intel Core Processors.

-UPDATE-

I reran the Windows Experience Index (WEI) and it jumped from a 4.6 to a 5.1. I guess Windows obtained a better score after removing bloatware and installing the latest drivers. Additionally, a dual channel RAM configuration will allow a slight bump in graphics performance.

So here are the subscores that the WEI came up with:

Processor: 5.9

Memory (RAM): 7.7

I have owned this laptop for only a week, but I've had a chance to play with it enough to provide a review that I hope is helpful to someone considering this product.

The primary reason I bought the Acer S-3 i5 with Solid State Hard Drive (SSD) is for the speed, weight, and form factor. Coming from a 15.6" screen laptop that weighed almost 7 lbs, this unit is refreshingly light and appealing to the eye. It is very slim and the cover is attractive and simple. I was concerned that the 13.3" screen on the Acer would feel too small, but that has not been an issue. The SSD drive makes the laptop very responsive, and the fact that it is 256GB instead of just 128GB or 160GB like some of the other brand laptops I was considering is nice. I have room to actually take advantage of this fast hard drive.

Like most laptops, this one came pre-loaded with many programs and offers that I did not want, so be prepared to spend 10 minutes uninstalling the unwanted programs. While you're at it, spend a few minutes updating the wireless drivers on Acer's website . My wifi connection appeared to go dead in the first few days, but after I updated to the latest wifi drivers that problem has disappeared. Another issue that seems to have been resolved with a software update is the laptop fan. It was on the loud side until I updated the system bios from 1.15 to 1.16, and now it appears as though the fan is more reasonable.

Overall I'm happy with this laptop. The form factor and SSD drive makes it pleasant to use.

So I bought this lap top in December 2011. I bought it for work (I travel and edit) its light design and power was too good of an offer to pass up.

WELL

out of the now 6 months of owning it It has been in the shop 4 times for the exact same problem.

History of my ownership

purchased: December 8th 2011 (certified Acer store)

SSD drive fail: Jan 17th 2012 (replaced and handed back turn around 3 business days)

SSD drive fail: Feb 17th 2012 (replaced and handed back 3 business day turn around)

SSD drive fail: April 18th 2012 (mailed to service center replaced shipped back received May 1st)

SSD drive fail: May 1st (right out of box from fed ex office in Clients office to right back into box. reloaded UI/ Default... which did not work or me when I tried doing in the office? and returned may 8th)

That is a some what typical story from this Acer line. They keep saying the problem is fixed because it leaves their shop working... I just got most of my software loaded back and I'm now nervous to even start work for fear its going to crash on me and I'm going to be back in the same boat as again.

The SSD drive is garbage and all acer is going to do is replace it and send it back. When it breaks again... they will replace it and send it back.

I own the i7 version of this lap top but it has the same SSD drive as this version.

I would love to see everyone pull together to get a recall put out for this garbage.

Over all don't buy this product/ buy at your own risk. There are better and more stable/ reliable companies on the market.

Also if you are calling acer technical support and want to speak to a human voice immediately (even though it is outsourced and scripted) press the button for sales instead of tech support (normally option 2)

EDIT:

My product is now out of warranty and they stopped returning my phone calls a LONG time ago (while it was still in warranty) I had to buy another computer because this one was a complete and total lemon.

After that I had a 3rd party look at it (best buy qeek squad... if you buy protection from them you can register 3 more products... figured why not let them see it.. its was free) Upon inspection they determined the motherboard was bad and hence frying the SDD.

The lap top still makes a great paper weight

i love the keyboard...computer is light, fast, easy to use.

The speakers are very poor....but the sound with headset excellent.

This is exactly what i was looking for.

The only thing that really puzzles me is why acer does not make an airplane charger for their products, especially an ultralaptop for travel.

there is currently one charger available from some very odd foreign dealer...

this just seems odd..

Honest reviews on Acer Aspire S3-951-6828 13.3-Inch HD Display Ultrabook

I got this laptop instead of a tablet because I like the added versatility and a little bigger size doesn't make a huge difference to me. The laptop is fairly quick (partially thanks to the solid state HD); however, the downsides are the weak speakers and quirky touchpad. The speakers are barely loud enough to be able to play a movie/TV show on it and have enough juice to make it sound good. The touchpad has had some issues where it almost acts like it fell asleep.

Overall, satisfied with the purchase and am much happier having the added RAM, processing speed, HDMI out, and SSHD that cheaper ones don't have.

If you want a truly portable laptop (< 3 lbs) and has a big enough usable disk space (240GB SSD), this is the one for you. I was considering to buy a Macbook Air but a comparably-equipped model would cost $1,600! I was also considering the Acer 6646 model, which has a hydrid drive (20GB SSD + 320GB HDD) and costs about $800 but I didn't want to deal with the headache of a split partition and, the slow speed and reliability problem of the harddrive. So I chose this model. For 2 weeks now, I'm impressed with the startup/sleep and operating performance of the laptop. The only downsides I see is the mouse pad takes some getting used to: clicking the left/right buttons takes some force double tap is better but right click can not be substituted, and the mouse pad is slightly off-centered from the space key, causing my right thumb to accidentally touch the mousepad occasionally. Overall, it's a very good laptop and a solid, less-expensive alternative to the Macbook Air, if you're accustomed to Windows 7 like me.

2012-08-31 UPDATE: It's been more than 5 months since I bought this laptop and I'm still loving it. I've been using it every day for the last couple of months. All is still well. Love the fast boot up and sleep feature.

I bought a new Samsung Series 3 NP350V5C-T01US 15.6-Inch Laptop (Titan Silver) for seven hundred bucks on sale new at adorama camera. It had ENDLESS WiFi disconnects, track pad fails, and blue screens of death. After 2 repairs that did NOTHING to fix these issues, Samsung offered to replace it. I refused the same model so they offered me this. I had offered to take a downgrade, and this IS a downgrade..... I was hesitant since I was losing that faster processor, the 2 MG Gaming Card, and DVD Burner. But I was getting instead, a bigger hard drive, lighter metal body with less weight.Being disabled, that weight is a BIG deal. I already own a new Samsung Series 7 Gaming Laptop for performance as well as a nice Acer Desktop with 23 inch screen for other tasks.I needed this for all day, in my lap, goofing around online.

So why just a 3 star rating? Well it IS slower, quite a bit slower. I hope as it caches more data it may speed up a bit? But with this slower processor and same slow hard drive as the last, it makes for a lazy experience. Factor in the seven hundred dollar list price (usually just six hundred best best buy) and you can simply find WAY better specked hardware elsewhere. But I am where I am so I have no way out. The other problem was right off the bat, the same nightmare WiFi issues from the old computer haunt this one as well, even with an entirely different Card! Luckily I knew this beforehand and thanks to a reviewer named dissed who reviews the big brother to this computer, the Samsung ATIV Book 6 15.6-Inch Full HD Touchscreen Laptop (Mineral Ash Black), I knew the fix. It goes as follows per HIS wonderful review:

getting rid of the "intel" driver and reverting to Microsoft driver.

1. Uninstall the Intel Proset wireless software/driver from the computer under control panel uninstall program. (not the blue tooth just the wireless)...after thats done..

2. Open device manager/network adapters

3. double click centrino advanced-n 6235

4.click driver tab

5. It should say driver provider Microsoft / 12/5/2011 / 14.8.8.75

6. click events tab to see if driver service added was (NETwNe64)

that will fix the drop problems.

then fine tune your adapter

1. click tab power management / uncheck allow computer to turn device off to save power

2. click tab advanced / make sure transmit power is set to highest

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

So I tried this and it has been stable for 24 hours.I will update as ANY changes occur. The other reason for the 3 star rating is it only has 3 USB ports, only ONE 3.0 port. Also, you do NOT have a battery you can replace. It AND the hard drive are buried (NOT accessible for owner replacement as is normal on a laptop), build inside the case so good luck if you need a battery or if the hard drive fails. Just WAY too many negatives for me at this price to rate it higher.

I would recommend shopping around, reading reviews.Lots and lots of reviews. I see other brands with 1 TB hard drives, faster processors AND with optical drives for this price everywhere. On a positive note, this is a FAR more sturdy computer with a vastly nicer (more solid) keyboard as well. THE construction just oozes quality, UNLIKE THE ONE IN PLASTIC THIS REPLACES. As far as positives go, that is just about it. I hope this Samsung will not be another lemon. I have been a die hard Samsung computer fan boy. But I am sad to say that this will probably be mt LAST......

UPDATE:

After a month is has become a MUCH faster laptop thank goodness. It is also 100% rock solid stable. Nice change.....

very quick processing power. nice simple design. great screen resolution. im am very happy with it other than having windows 8.

The Lenovo Ideapad Z585 has worked without any issues. I have been able to play all of the games that I wanted to on good graphics, but not the best, but that is what you get for its price. I am able to play games with high fps without spikes of lag. The main issue I have had is that the keyboard is shrunk in order to fit in the number pad, but after owning for a month, I have already gotten mainly used to it.

I bought this computer around 2 weeks ago and am very pleased. Windows 8 takes a day to get use to, but it is nice to keep my mail open in the GUI and then have my internet/documents open in the desktop mode. The speed at which this computer operates is great given its quad core and RAM (getting out of sleep mod takes a few seconds, start up is a bit longer). The screen has a great display for average use, and the only downside is the battery life isn't anything special, but I didn't buy this for mobility.

To those of you looking at buying this laptop... don't believe the specs... It states it has intel integrated graphics.... This is false... AMD APU's have HD 7*** series graphics on board. This model has either an HD 7520G or 7660G integrated gpu. There is a model of this laptop with dual graphics card, a 7670M, which is actually a decent, dedicated gpu, and a 7660G which is on die with the cpu running in crossfire with the dedicated graphics card.

not sure how its possible that the other persons laptop fell apart, im using this laptop my self and sold 4 of those in the last 6 month, in super durable, made out of light aluminium, it is built according to military standards, the only explanations i can see that someone tuke it apart and did not put the screws back in or worse it was drooped, i have no issues with keyboard or casing what so ever , in fact i love the keyboard, its kinda different , much easier to type then most laptops, they keys are flat and very well structured. other than that operating systems run super smooth both XP or windows7, screan is super bright and sharp, and to top it off it has a real video card not those flimsy Intel cheaps, it runs even games nicely, seriously cant say anything bad about this laptop

This laptop is a piece of junk. This is the same laptop provided to me by my employer for my daily work. For the last 12 years, I had Lenovo Thinkpad's and they were great. Then last year I got upgraded to the HP 8440p. Yeah, talk about an 'upgrade.'

I don't even know where to start. From day one, the "8" key on the keyboard was broken. If I hit that key with a certain force and a certain angle, it will pop off. Three of the four rubber pads at the bottom of the laptop that are supposed to keep it from sliding on smooth surfaces have fallen off so any time I'm typing, the laptop is moving all over the desk. On my Thinkpad, I could get ~5 hours of battery life by being aggressive with my power saver mode and dimming the screen; the HP barely get me 3 hours on a new battery. I've had to purchase 2 new batteries (in addition to the original) in a one year span to maintain a measly 3 hours battery life. And then there is the screen. There are many times during the day when I'm working at my desk where I close the lid, pick up the laptop and go to a conference room, and re-open the lid. About 10% of the time, when I re-open the lid, the screen does not come back on even though the computer is clearly still on. The only way to recover was a hard reboot. I thought maybe it was a software issue and had out IT guys look at it and they couldn't figure it out. And then magically one day the problem disappeared, after driving me nuts for 9+ months. I never had anything like this happen with my Thinkpad.

Save yourself the trouble and go buy a better laptop. HP makes great printers (I still have my LaserJet IIP from 1989) but they sure don't know how to make a good laptop.

Let me first say, this is one amazing laptop. Before I got this, I was convinced that the IBM T60 was the epitome of durability and build quality. I begrudgingly admit that this elitebook has it beat. There is no flex in the chassis of this laptop, and no keyboard flex. The keyboard strokes feel solid and full, and the keyboard light is as easy to use as the ThinkLight. The lid is built to withstand 300 pounds of pressure, and this model does have the spill-through keyboard/chassis. I really can't say enough about this laptop, it is that good. I wish they had an IPS screen option, but even the TFT screen on this is better than the T430 I looked at. If you are on the fence, just buy it!

Honest reviews on Hewlett Packard 8440P I5-520M 2.4G2 GB 250 GB 14IN W7P/XPP

I normally don't write reviews, but this laptop is so crappy I feel I need to warn others. My work only uses HP laptops. I recieved the 8440p as an upgrade for my HP NC6400. I looked forward to the speed and hdd increase. But this new laptop is crap.

1. The bezel around the lcd is not very secure. It feels loose and cheap. I can pull it slightly apart at the seam.

2. The esc key fell off after 2 weeks and can't be reattached. It still works when I press in the open area.

3. The express card slot stinks. Its too big so I had to buy adapters for my cards to fill the space but it makes them very flimsy.

4. After 1 month of use the hdd stopped working and is making crackling sounds.

I'm going to send this in to IT and request a different model.

The only thing I like about it is the keyboard light that pops out of the top of the lcd is very cool when working in a dark environment.

Laptop arrived on time, it setup easily. Very light, looks super. I haven't tested battery life yet since I haven't been on the road much, but the one time I was out for a few hours and it was still going strong well over 50% of battery life left. I have no complaints at this point.

the quality is good, it is light and runs fast.

the 15 inch screen works great, and I like this ultrabook well.

Also, the standard 128gb ssd and 8gm ram is a plus, I can open any program with several seconds.

Best Deals for Samsung Series 9 NP900X4C-A04US 15" - Intel Core i5-3317U Ultrabook

Light, fast with a minimalist and elegant look. However, the screen reminds me of a laptop I owned 10 years ago. The colors get washed out rapidly from the sides and it's almost impossible to see the screen from above the normal viewing angle.

Viewing the screen directly isn't much comforting either as the colors are far from vibrant and the fonts look pixelated.

PROS:

1. Cool to touch even after hours of usage

2. No audible fan noise.

3. Nice keyboard with a good layout.

4. Elegant and light for a 15"

Maybe I am used to 1080 displays but it's a pity this Samsung laptop could have been a very attractive machine if the engineers had put in a better display.

Honest reviews on Samsung Series 9 NP900X4C-A04US 15" - Intel Core i5-3317U Ultrabook

Everything that is there is great. Display is bright and crisp. Keyboard is the best I have ever used. SSD is faster than any memory has a right to be; the computer boots up in 20% the time o my last computer. I do love everything on the computer.

That said, I have no idea why Samsung did not include a Displayport output. The Series 9 is supposed to be a top of the line computer and they do not include the best video output. I read a great deal about the intel 4000 graphics card and then made an assumption that all of its capabilities would be available on a $1200 computer. If I had figured this out beforehand I would not have bough the Samsung.

If you want to drive multiple external displays this is not the computer for you.

I have owned this laptop for about 8 months at this point. Let me tell you that is by far the fastest laptop I have ever used. It handles most games with ease at full graphics.

That being said there is a major flaw with this laptop. Within 2 months of owning the laptop, the keys started popping off. Dell does have a picture tutorial on how to put this keys back on, but if you follow the tutorial it will often lead to adjacent keys popping off. And if you push too hard when trying to get the keys to latch, then you are out of luck. Luckily my first experience with Alienware customer service ended in a keyboard replacement in less than 2 days from calling tech support. However when it started happening again tech support was not that helpful. I was told I would need to purchase a replacement keyboard for $110! The laptop is under warranty for 4 more months. I was even considering extending the warranty.

My suggestion is to use the built in keyboard as little as possible. I use a logitech keyboard now, my biggest issue is now the laptop does not really travel easily anymore.

Mind you, I give this 3 stars only because of the amount of self maintenance that needs to be done, I have the 1st revision M17x from 2009, with all the bells and whistles and it runs newer games flawlessly still, so for game performance it gets a 5 star review. I agree that the reflective screen is an issue if taken outside or played by a window, but I have no problems with it inside, and usually play at night anyway, don't most gamers? So for looks I give a 5 star review as well, the keyboard lighting themes you can set to match your mouse or background and its very eye-catching and fun.

Now for the part which gets the 0 star review that made me select the 3 star total...

I bought through Dell, and while the warranty period lasted, it was fine.

Rather than having to send it in, they walked me through popping off the touch sensitive panel where the volume controls and eject button etc are when it arrived and they didn't work. I dislike the fact that you have to use a thin screwdriver or other hard/sharp object to pry off a panel made of softish plastic but that's the price you pay for not having visible screws. It was easy enough to replug the tiny connection that had wiggled loose and then snap the plastic back into place, and the problem was solved, for a few months, until putting it down when done using it eventually caused it to wiggle free again. But knowing what had happened the first time I didn't even have to call and wait on hold, just fixed it myself in 10 minutes, this has happened a few more times since then, always with the same fix.

I did have it stop registering the charger as other people have mentioned, but all I was told to do was remove the charger, remove the battery and wait 30 seconds for any residual power to dissipate and then put it all back together. Which basically reset it and fixed the issue. I have had to do this a few times since as well but it always fixes it.

The drivers on the CD are a good starting point for reinstalling WIndows, but they lack good descriptions for anyone not into building their own computers, so finding updated ones online can be fun. The ones on the Dell website are a joke. There are new video card drivers for my 285M on the Nvidia website from within the last month, but the ones specific to the Alienware, which does make a difference, are only as recent as 2010...

If you try to install the ones from Nvidia you will get an error telling you that no eligible hardware is found... even though your card is listed in the description. Its because the way Alienware sets up the system requires custom drivers so your card actually has a slightly different ID than the standard ones and that specific ID isn't listed in the standard driver programming. If you want the latest you will end up spending a few hours doing you tube video watching and forum searching to find the solution which involves rewriting a portion of the driver files to include your model ID, then doing it again to include the basic third video card that is installed along with the 2 running in SLI, and then going into your BIOS and disabling the Hybrid SLI and the Integrated Graphics so that the computer will recognize the SLI cards and not try to run off of the basic card instead. Then you go into your video card control panel and tell it to use the SLI again... And then it works beautifully.

If you are into building your own computer and working on it yourself, these systems are great. I wouldn't trade mine in, I love this beast, but I also know that for a beginning techno geek or someone who needs simple maintenance only devices, this would be one of the biggest headaches ever. Be forewarned...

I bought an Alienware M17x in November of 2011, I loaded it up with a total cost of $5750. By March I expirenced power issues. The power adapter is plugged in but the system does not recognize the adapter. This causes the CPU to throttle back and run very slow. Dell has trouble shooted the problem over the phone, sent a technician out to replaced the mother board and adapter 5 times now. The problem still exists. They refuse to refund my money or exchange the system. Customer support says it is against policy to exchange unless I have the 4 repairs done within 30 days. Them being slow to dispatch technicians prevents 30 day policy to work in my favor. I did pay for the exteneded priemer warranty, which is now apparent to me that this was also a waste of my money. Search Google "Alienware M17x power issues". You will see I am not alone is the complaint.

This is exactly what I was looking for. It is light and works really well. I can adjust battery life and get up to 5 and a half hours.

I recommend this laptop. The keyboard is really nice and the touchpad works great, the two finger scrolling is awesome. The brightness adjustment is really good too, most laptops and desktop computers have it set so the brightness level jumps way too much and you only wanted a slight change. This one does it less than an inch, so slight reducing of brightness is great. the design is practical as well. I appreciate that the cover is not plastic but has a metal design. And it doesn't heat up fast or get very hot. Also, keep in mind this ultrabook has 2 hd, a solid state and spinning drive :)

I purchansed this laptop after much research and preffered to buy it from Amazon. However my experience is too bad with HP this time though I have always used an HP laptop. Here is the list of faults I found with the laptop and they are quite serious and annoying and won't let you work smoothly.

1) creepy system sound on every boot or windows resume

2) caps letter on without caps lock on after windows resume

3) shift key characters show up without shift key turned on after resuming windows

4) new window opens on browser on every single click after resuming windows

5) shortcut in my favorites get deleted and goes to recycle bin after resuming window

6) delete key does not work

7) while typing if press delete key it keeps on deleting all subsequent characters in the reverse direction

8) while rebooting or resuming window any folder or file click shows alert "want to delete"? Yes/ NO doesn't work -the alert windows keeps popping up

9) Windows photo viewer crashes

This laptop was not at all what I expected. Firstly I had to pay more than the advertised price of the laptop but I didnt mind considering it being an ultrabook. There is no backlit keyboard, no solid state drive and the mousepad has missing functionality, basically it is like any generic laptop in a sleek housing if I knew that I would have bought a sleekbook instead and would have paid much less for the same product. Dont buy this product unless u have money to waste.

Good product. Lacks enough USB ports. Notice that there is no disk drive. Didn't notice that it didn't have a back-lit keyboard, that would have been nice.

First of all, I am a huge Apple fan, turning into a huge samsung fan. While this laptop is not as compact and thin as a macbook pro, it is sleek and stylish, and half the cost.

Pros:

-Super fast

-Sleek and stylish

-Runs very cool, has not yet gotten warm.

Fan is very quiet, I think I've noticed it twice.

-Screen is pretty good, seems a little washed out, but then again I just switched from an iPad, so no comparison there.

-Has nice island style keys just like the macbook

-BATTERY LIFE!!!!!! No joke 8 hours easy on this thing with light office work, even with screen brightness turned up

-Compact power cord

-Sturdy

-Speakers are pretty good, but hey, it is a laptop so no high expectations there

-TRACKPAD is multitouch, just like a macbook! This is so essential!

-Price, got it for $600 at Best Buy. Worth more like $900.

CONS:

-Like I said, the screen is pretty good but nothing to shout about.

-When you are first initializing the set up, make sure you don't accidentally partition the hard drive like I did, that is the default option, I don't know how to get it back.

********UPDATE****

So after a few months with the machine I still quite like it, however I have noticed a few things. More and more I have notice how washed out the screen looks, the colors just do not pop. I do not know if this is common with mid-range laptops, it certainly pales in comparison to a macbook pros screen and my cheap LCD TV.

Also, the amazing 8-9 hour battery life that I was raving about has already dropped to 5 hrs in a matter of 3 months. Again, don't know if that is common, but I miss being able to go all day without the power cord.

*****UPDATE*******

last summer this laptop fell out of our car and got pretty banged up. Bought a MacBook Air off of amazon for $800 and have never looked back. I know it's a bit more money, but everything about it is superior, highly recommend it. Screen is much better, crazy thin, and ssd just screams. And this is a 2011 model. I bought it used and apple still put a 1 yr warranty on it.

Hi,

I bought this laptop (NP-QX411-W01UB) refurbished, however, it came very fast and in sealed brown box.

I assume that this model was supposed to be display model for best buy store. The laptop has best buy software, the same that you can see in any best buy display model with their logo and some video.

It feels solid, slightly have but it's not a problem. It work very fast and has a lot of good features, such as wireless display, 2x USB 3.0, good camera and speakers.

Nice keyboard feeling.

Screen is like a TV, I have seen some reviews where people were talking about screen reflection, for me it's not a problem, and I have to admit that it's present(screen reflection).

Battery life is excellent, but !!! the battery is built in and due to I am planing to add RAM and change HD to ssd it might be an issue which is I am not sure how to resolve yet.

As of right now I am very happy with this laptop!!!

4 stars out of 5.
