I can't write personally about this computer as I purchased it for my fiance but, I will say that she hasn't ever said a bad thing about it. A lot of her coworkers have more expensive laptops and they told her that they want hers. The lit keys are really helpful when she's on at night. She wasn't crazy about the layout of the new windows but she's gotten used to it and you can change it back to the classis view.

Honestly it is hard to be unbiased when reviewing because of windows 8. I find it slower and clunkier than windows 7. I can not tell if the slow processing time is from windows 8 or the laptop. take it for what its worth though, The internet and reaction times in pulling up both internet and desktop windows seem slower than my three year old dell that had less RAM and processing speed. It is sleek looking and I like the feel of the keyboard. The backlit keys option is nice. The touch pad is very frustrating, even after modifying the settings it still wasn't responsive enough not to be inhibiting. I bought an optical mouse straight a way. The comeback from sleep and start up times are good. The resolution, colors and laptop speakers were above par with what I was expecting. The battery life also is good, I had it on for about two hours before needing to plug in. I'll be back for an update as soon as I figure out how to get Windows 7 on here, be warned Its a long tricky route, I've heard everything from it cant be done to it can be done if you complete these 40 steps. So if you're thinking of buying this laptop with the idea, no problem, I'll just downgrade, be warned you are in for a giant headache.

I've had the Lenovo U110 now for 1 year. It is light and portable. However, the plastic casing is very flimsy and breaks easily. Recently, I turned it on, but does not stay on. Support is non-existence. Searching forum on the internet for possible solutions is impossible. It seems like nobody owns one. Other than that, the lap top works fine.

I bought a Lenovo IdeaPad U110 through Amazon about a year ago, paying about $1,000 for it. It was pre-loaded with Windows Vista, software so bloated and heavy that it couldn't get out of its own way, sometimes taking 3 minutes to boot and over a minute to shutdown. I dumped Vista and loaded XP, and now it comes out of standby in less than 5 seconds and is conneced to my wireless network. At the current price of in excess of $2,000 I would not recommend it. But, if you can score one for around $1,000 and have the means to load XP, it is the incredible.

I bought this laptop just over a year ago. Its been great other then I noticed the hard drive occasional skipping. Noticeable during video playback and slightly moving the laptop. The hard drive finally died just after one year. (Just past the warranty period). Lenovo wanted $305 for a replacement 120gb 1.8in hard drive plus $49 processing and a mandatory $10 for the recovery disk (that I don't need) $365 for a 120gig hard drive. After hours on the phone with them and several diff customer service areas They had no alternatives. Im just going to junk the thing and buy a diff laptop...... Im never buying Lenovo ever again... bad company experience

I just got it few days ago and love it. The guy runs so fast that even better than my other Sony i5. The HDMI turns my 70' LED TV into a giant screen, which is beautiful, as well as the video games. I definitely recommand this one, with such a great price.

I'm not really a "techie" kind of girl but I had a short list of my needs for a new laptop. After a little research I wanted at least an i5 Core Processor with Windows 7 and enough GBs and I didn't want to spend too much. I really like this Asus and found it more than meets my needs and for a fantastic price (in my opinion anyway). It was easy to uninstall anything I didn't want and then to set it up to my personal preferences, like setting power saving options and default programs, etc. Good set-up and fast right out of the box (after charging of course). I've had it for 5 months now and I'm still happy to use it every day, whereas my former laptop was a pain. Battery life is good and I'm happy with the keyboard too. Love my new Asus K53E Laptop.

Have had this for about three months. The key board is nice, but the mouse pad has been having some problems being almost too sensitive to movement sometimes.

My main computer before was a netbook and while this much faster, I haven't been thrilled to carry it in a bag to and from work. But what I had before was less than 2 pounds so I did expect this.

Also, this has taken a few knocks and hasn't yet had a problem surviving them. So is great if you want to take it about places.

Not really brown. I received it and thought it was black. The matte finish does not get fingerprints.

3 UBS ports, HDMI, and what I think is a VGA, which will took up to a monitor.

It is a lot of computer for the price.

I really appreciate the numeric keyboard as my other 15" laptop does not have this. The screen is very bright & sound is much better than other laptops it has two speakers above the keyboard. It has all the same items a more expensive unit has, but at a much better price. Built-in Webcam & Skype, CD/DVD player & burner for watching movies, three USB ports, an ethernet port and wireless WiFi (many only have wireless), matt finish stays fingerprint free.

Toshiba has long heald the reputation for making some of the best business grade laptops available. Three or four years ago they rolled into the consumer market and have carried that same quality forward. Toshiba is very competitive with HP, Dell & Lenovo...today's other PC Leaders.

I bought a one-year warranty with this laptop. After 6 months the hard drive died. When I called Toshiba, I was told that my warranty was expired. I contacted the seller, who said they would contact Toshiba. A few days later I asked for an update, and the seller said they would contact Amazon (not sure why). Still no response a week later, so I asked for an update within 24 hours. The seller assured me that I had a one-year warranty, but Toshiba only covers certain things.

I'm still waiting for a response. It's clear that I've been scammed, and this seller is just running out the clock until I give up. I clearly have no recourse, since there's no option on this order to file an Amazon claim.

This was a great deal. But if something seems too good to be true, that's because it is! If I'd looked closer at the reviews, I would've seen that most of the negative ones are for computers. BUYER BEWARE!!!

I own a powerful gaming desktop PC, and my previous laptop was just a mid-okay 2GB ram/AMD 2.0GHz with less that 250MB of graphic memory on it. So I only used it for school work and that was pretty much it. Now with this HP pavilion dv5, I find myself completely ignoring my gaming desktop. Because this laptop can play most of the PC games that I play (Just finished playing call of duty 4 Modern warfare). It has 500GB space on it and comes with a HMDI port, so that means I connect it to my sumsung HD 1080p screen and everything looks pandora. Also has a very good webcam with a lot of options. It is simple light weight machine with a slick design. It comes with the super quick HP start up, so no need to start up win 7 all the time, especially if you just wanna go online.

Cons: The mouse pad is annoying, just grrrrrrrrrrruugghh!

The inbuilt speakers are so poor. But works great (dolby advance audio) if you connect them to good PC speakers.

I like it ...

Pros: Everything it's supposed to be, Light, Slick, Nice Design, Good Webcam.

Lenovo IdeaPad Z580 15.6-Inch Laptop - Windows 8 - 500 GB Hard Drive - 6 GB DDR3 SDRAM - 2.5 GHz 3rd Gen Intel Core i5-3210M Processor

I've been using a Lenovo Thinkpad Edge for the last two years for work and love it. So I bought my wife the Ideapad z580 the other day. For the money you can't get better specs. Intel core i5 processor, 8gb Ram, 750gb hardrive were included in a $499 deal at Staples. The other laptops of similar spec were at least $100 more and then some. The feel and handle of the z580 are great. But there are some key problems with this computer that have caused us to return it in favor of something else.

1. The track pad doesn't have separate buttons, they are integrated. I don't care one way or the other, but they have to work. The buttons seemed to work only half of the time. I soon just started to tap on the pad to select things because the buttons wouldn't do it. I even tried to adjust the sensitivity of them to no avail. It's also super sensitive. If you even remotely touch anything other than your finger to it, the pointer jumps all over. It also seemed to select things when our fingers hovered over the track pad. For me, the track pad has to work well since you use it for everything. If it doesn't it'll make your computer experience a disaster.

2. The network card would lose signal and we would have to reset the connection. This is unacceptable as well.

3. The computer, if left open goes into sleep mode, which is fine, but the problem is that it won't wake up. The only way to wake up the z580 if it goes to sleep with the screen open is to push the power button and restart the computer. There is no fix for this per the user forums about this laptop.

Between the poor track pad, poor internet network card, and a computer that you can't wake up; it made our decision to return it and look for something else pretty easy. those things just make the laptop experience miserable.

I never thought I'd say this but the trackpad alone is reason enough you should not buy this laptop. It is the worst design I have seen in any of the half dozen laptops I've owned. It is way larger than most trackpads making it far too easy to bump when typing. Additonally, as others have noted the integrated buttons don't work properly. Whenever I'm trying to right click on something the computer keeps left clicking. Usually there's this perfect sweepspot to the far left, but it doesn't work consistently. I think the designers must have realized midway through that you'd wind up using a mouse all the time because they put a shortcut key (Function-F6) to turn off the trackpad, which I now do all the time.

I believe the other reviews have already described how fast and sleek this machine is and the value that you're getting in a laptop that can actually run modern games and do video editing at this price point. I agree with those sentiments. However, I felt compelled to give potential buyers some more information regarding the product description.

I bought the IdeaPad Y510P Model Name: 20217.

1. This model does come with two NVIDIA 750M video cards in SLI configuration.

2. The 1 TB 5400 RPM hard drive is partitioned into 2 drives. One primary one and a smaller 24gb partition for Lenovo's system backup.

3. This model does NOT come with an on board SSD hard drive to cache windows. I was curious if I could simply buy a small mSata hard drive and install it myself to speed up windows a bit. Upon opening the case, the area where the mSata SSD is supposed to go does NOT contain a connector to plug in an aftermarket mSata drive. The mSata connector/adapter is not soldered onto the board for this model. I'm assuming this is to cut costs. I don't know anything about soldering components to a motherboard so I will eventually replace the 1 TB mechanical hard drive with either the next generation hybrid drive or a SSD for a smoother and faster computing experience.

No regrets on buying this machine. I am happy with the purchase. I just wanted to let potential buyers know what they're getting since the various reviews and product descriptions were a bit unclear if this notebook had a SSD and/or a 2nd video card in SLI or not.

I hope you find this helpful in your laptop buying experience.

This laptop is labeled without an SSD however, the one I ordered came with a 24gb SSD loaded with the laptop drivers. along with 1TB HDD 5400RPM

Also, The SLI was included making this laptop an extremely good deal at this price. (I was worried at first, the wording is vague)

1x8gb of ram DDR3 were included as stated

Update:

This thing is blazing fast. At first I was slightly dissapointed with the SLI performance. But after i updated the video drivers through the NVIDIA website, I was getting 30-40% better fps

Skyrim with 22 graphic enhancing mods and ultra video settings -> 60fps

Rift Ultra settings -> 60fps

Bioshock infinite ultra settings with a few high tweaks due to some broken features -> 55fps

1.On Aug 2,the model number on the web changed to 59369999 from 59375625,Aug 7,the Max Screen Resolution changed to 1366x768 from 1920×1080

2.The info on the web of this model is wrong,i ask the custom service of amazon, they told me the same info with the web,and they said the info of the this model on the web never changed(at last they told me "to be honest ,we don`t know wether the info has been changed")

3.The one i reveived,model number is 59375625, the screen is 15.6 FHD(1920×1080),Dual GPU,2x4G RAM,1T HDD,NO SSD.

And the only trouble is i can only install a NGFF SSD(MAX 32G)

4.Another model of y510p,the $1179 one also very good, the difference between the $1179 one and the $999 one is RAM(2x4G 2x8G)、Blu ray drive,24G NGFF SSD ,i think 2x4G RAM is enough for me,and the blu ray is not use often.so i choose this model

Honest reviews on Lenovo IdeaPad Y510p 15.6-Inch Laptop (Metal - Dusk Black)

So I've used the model sold by Amazon for a few days and have had a great experience with it. The description of the product is confusing; this is a model with a 1080p screen, dual SLI 750m configuration, 1TB hard drive (a little under 900gb useable), 8gb RAM, and no SSD cache.

Pros:

*The 1080p anti-glare screen actually does its job. Could not ask more from a laptop screen. Bright and vivid.

*The keyboard is of a very nice quality, and the backlighting is a neat feature.

*The sound is the best I've heard from a laptop.

*The SLI 750m configuration will blow past most modern games at 1080p and at high/ultra settings. (BF3 runs at a solid 45fps if you turn shadows down to high and MSAA down a notch)

*Speedy and responsive setup, Windows 8 is great if you take the time to get used to it. Boots in under 25 seconds (and this is without the SSD cache available in higher end models).

Neutral/Things to Consider:

*The edges are sharp; this could be a problem for prolonged periods if you type with your hands at a certain angle.

*WiFI is spotty, but updating the drivers from Lenovo's website fixes the issue. Also, make sure to update the NVIDIA drivers and download the GeForce Experience program to maximize performance from games.

Cons:

*The trackpad isn't all that great. Useable, but not upto the standard of the rest of the build.

If you're looking at a multimedia/gaming laptop under $1300, this is your machine. Feel free to post any questions in the comments.

I had this laptop for about a week before I was forced to return it. This thing is a beast for a great price and I was so excited to use it but after a few days the internet started to randomly drop and I had to keep reconnecting. I tried everything imaginable to fix it, from making sure the drivers were up to date to reformatting the hard drive and everything in between.

There is apparently an issue with this laptops WiFi card according to others who have had similar problems on the Lenovo forums. Their remedy is basically to make sure the drivers are up to date, which I did. It is also apparently impossible or very hard to install another wireless card because of the way the laptop is set up.

I really wanted to keep this laptop but because part of the main reason I bought it was to use for an upcoming deployment, I can't take the chance that the wireless issues will work themselves out with a future fix and risk losing communication with my family for an extended period of time.

Overall, this would have been an excellent laptop for the price if not for the issues that I came across with the WiFi card.

I have always been a BIG HP fan. I would have never guessed in a thousand years that I would buy a Lenovo. what won me over is that they give these to my kids to use in high school. they keep them the whole term and then turn them in at the end of the year. Since I didn't buy them for them (well, I did thru my tax dollars), I just set back and observed how they treated them. they weren't too hard on them, but rough enough to impress me with how much a Lenovo can take.

my son likes online games, which can heat up a computer in a heart-beat, especially if it has intense graphics. i would just take quick notice every once in a while where they put their Lenovo thinkpads. i have found them under blankets (still on), or on top of pillows where absolutely no air could circulate to the processor, and, though they were as hot as fire, the little boxes just kept humming along with no problems. they were also dropped, bumped, and sit on, with still no problems.

So, when i decided to get a new lappy, i decided to try a Lenovo. besides, with amazon's return policy, if i didn't like it, i could just send it back. so with windows 8 on it and a touch-screen, i made the jump. i received the lappy about a week after i ordered it. like a kid on Christmas morn, i immediately tore open the box and went at it. the battery was charged right out of the box. this, of course, made me very happy. i fired her up, did all the registration crap and was met by the start screen on reboot. i was not familiar with windows 8 at all, but i didn't find it to be too bad. it still isn't bad. once u learn all the screen swipes and how to pull down the menus and such, you'll look like tom cruise in minority report when he's slinging this pic over here or that video over there. it just takes some getting used to. btw, u don't have to touch the screen all the time. the mouse pad, which is over-sized, works the same way as the screen.

i have always been an amd guy, so the intel i5 was a change up as well. it's not bad at all. i do A LOT with video editing and this little guy hangs right in there. it is very fast at rendering a vid and the processor doesn't get nearly as hot as my old HP dv7 amd.

i did up the ram in it. it can hold 16 gig. it was a big improvement over the 6 it came with. the bottom access panel wasn't hard to remove at all and all the components are right there. i really liked the fact that the system fan is accessible thru this panel, so cleaning it will be a breeze.

my only problem with this lappy is the battery. a mere 4 cell. it holds up pretty well just piddling around the net and such, but when i fire up the Sony Vegas program to work on and render some vids, it doesn't take long for it to deplete fairly quickly.

other than the battery (for the most part) i am happy, with this lappy!

I purchased this laptop to replace an aging 5 year old Compaq laptop which I had updated to Windows 8 32 bit (which I like very much and I am always amazed at all the clucks who dis it before they give themselves a chance to learn it, which takes no time at all, and I love all the APPs and how fast they load/install from the Windows Store). So I am familiar with the operating system, but only have used a laptop for less than six months. Windows 8.1 is coming soon, too. I purchased this G500S Win 8 64 bit for more power, primarily, and to have some of the conveniences not available on the old Compaq. More battery life, blue tooth, touch screen, number pad on the right of the keyboard, USB3 ports, HDMI port, battery life, better sound, and it doesn't burn your legs. It runs quieter and cooler. All were features I wanted. I don't like a mouse pad, using a USB wireless mouse and the touch screen, and I keep my 2500 song music library on a USB 3 external 1TB drive so when I back up I don't eat up a lot of time and back up drive space. I do like the Lenovo one touch back up and recovery feature. I disable the mouse pad, since it has that option and a check box (disable when USB mouse is used) that should keep it from returning like it did with every reboot on the Compaq. My hands were always moving the mouse as I typed, even erasing paragraphs and entering text where I did not wish it. With a touch screen it is just not practical anymore.

The biggest CON is that my external blue ray drive can not work because of the graphics card. After installing the Blue Ray PowerDVD program package which allows the external drive to function, I got the error message that indicated the graphics card deficiency, a big surprise! Maybe it has something to do with the touch screen, but it was very surprising. Fortunately I can create my blue ray disks, I just can't play them. The computer has power to speed up the creation process, however. The second CON is that the keyboard is not back lighted. I was sure it was and it means I have turned on and off my light many times to find the keys. I guess I could use the virtual keyboard, but then you have to reach across the keyboard with your arms elevated after enabling the feature. Which brings me to the fact that a touch screen on a laptop is not the easiest to use except for short duration because your arms will get tired. But I knew that and I am still experimenting with a comfortable way to go about using it. Lastly, there is no external audio input for recording, or a MIC input either. Just an earphone jack.

I must admit to waiting before making this purchase because of the obvious deficiencies I knew about, and everyone sold out. Amazon got them back again in their own stock in very limited supply for $599 again with the I5 Processor, which I prefer over the AMD Quad Core. I jumped on the purchase, knowing if I was dissatisfied I could return it. But I probably won't. To get the Blue Ray functionality would cost much more, and for what I really need it will do just fine.

ADDITIONAL THOUGHT ABOUT PARTS SUPPORT: Parts for the G500s are scarce at this time as I have recently researched. First let me say that the power supply is rather unique with a plug that I have never encountered before. It has a rectangle shape with a small center male pin in the charger plug that mates with the computer receptacle. You don't see this type plug on chargers anywhere. Amazon lists no replacement charger or battery. The Lenovo website has the charger (vaguely listed with no description as item #36200249, ADP 65W 3P SLIM PLUG ADP-65FD BB DELTA, for $35.94 plus $7 shipping), but no battery is listed, or I could not find it, and this is somewhat bothersome since both these computer items often are needed in the future. I don't know why they felt it necessary to change the plug/receptacle, but the very small pin is worrisome since it may be prone to break with the constant use a laptop demands for charging. We will see. I saw no listing for memory or any other replacement parts.

UPDATE: It appears that the Thinkpad battery charger sold by Lenovo, and the Prontocharger.com store sells one that appears to be correct for the Lenovo/IBM G505s for $28.95 plus $7, and I have ordered one to be sure. Lenovo does sell the battery for $59.95 on their website (http://laptoprescue.com/lenovo-laptop-battery-model-specific/?gclid=CNzIlY-53rkCFUVp7AodQRkACA).

Just days before black friday my old laptop elected to die. Given the timing and my available fundage at the time, a good deal outweighed a top-end machine.

At $379.99 with a $50 mail-in this was the bargain I was looking for.

I can't comment on reliability given the brief time-frame, but in terms of the rest:

Aesthetic-The case is a nice unit that looks/feels a bit more solid than my Toshiba Satellite, and the matte blue (black in Amazon's version) rather than glossier finish makes it less prone to things like smudges/fingerprints.

Keyboard-Lacking a 10-key allows the rest of the keyboard to feel less cramped, with good sized keys that have good feel to them without feeling like they will jam or take too much pressure to hit.

The one complaint I do have is the column of hotkeys along the left edge of the keyboard. The concept is good, but I'll take keeping ctrl in corner as it's always been over bringing up the calculator at the push of a button for example.

Display-Thus far the display has a good picture and is nice quality, while 15.6'' is for most purposes the perfect happy medium between size and portability.

Temperature-Thus far even with the computer being on for long stretches temperature has never appeared to be an issue, never feeling more than a little warm to the touch with fairly quiet fan-noise. My one concern is that the vents on this machine are a bit smaller than most, but so far it hasn't seemed to have any impact.

RAM-3 gigs of DDR3 is the norm for a machine in this bracket, with upgrade ability should you so desire. Memory usage tends to run around 50% with normal usage (i.e. antivirus active but not scanning, a couple small background items, and web browser with a few open tabs).

Processor-AMD Athlon II dual-core 2.2 ghz. Given that many sub $500 laptops are still using Celeron or Sempron processors this is again a great value. No it won't keep up with that >$1,000 machine with a Phenom/i7 chip, but is quite nice at this price bracket.

Graphics-Finding a dedicated graphics card instead of integrated is virtually impossible on the budget end of laptops, that said the Radeon 4250 chipset has been able to handle fairly new graphics-intensive games (such as Dawn of War 2) with no issue (albeit on lower settings).

Touchpad-Compared to offputting texture of my last laptop this one has a good size and feel while having an on/off integrated into the touchpad is a nice feature to avoid palm-dragging text while typing.

Software-Given that this machine caps out at 8 gigs of RAM it really isn't built to take advantage of what 64 bit has to offer, I would have preferred 32 bit for my needs. The HP advisor dock is a nice tidbit I haven't really put to use, but could be handy for some users, and while the heavy-handed push towards Norton is a bit offputting all new computers have their list of trial programs they try to push on you.

Peripherals-A little bit lacking here the only thing notable would be 3 USB slots instead of 2, coupled with the standard heaphone/mic jacks, ethernet, and vga out. The lack of HDMI is expected in this price range but items like comboing one USB with esata, the lack of a SD card reader, and all controls for things like volume, wifi on/off, and brightness integrated into the keyboard are notably lacking. The lack of a wifi card slot is not an immediate concern, but if the internal wifi malfunctions you'll be using up a less efficient USB receiver.

Other-Remember battery life usually describes the ideal situation (dvd drive not spinning, screen brightness low, etc.)-realistic battery life is probably closer to 3 hours in an average situation. Also the speakers boast 'hd' sound but in reality are tinny and underwhelming.

Bottom Line:

For a sub $500 laptop this is a solid machine with good under-the-hood specs and a nice feel. It lacks some of the peripheral niceties like a memory card-reader but is otherwise a great value machine that packs a little more punch than the 2 gig of RAM sempron/celeron single-core foes common in the 'bargain' bracket.

While the specs for the price are nice, felt I had to add in my less than satisfactory personal experience with the product a little over a month later, for that see added comment:

I bought this laptop during Black Friday for $300 I figured it was a good deal for a nice laptop. Overall it's a nice laptop but there is a few minor setbacks. First, the clicker is hard to click and it takes quite a while getting used to. Second, when you look at the pictures it may seem like there is a web cam. Don't be mistaken, there isn't. And lastly the battery life isn't 4 hours. It's more like 3 if even that which can get a little bothersome. The keys are also very flat and take a while to get use to as well. On the left side there is a column on the side for convenience to open up certain thing. For me, it's been more of a nuisance than a benefit because I accidentally push the keys and you have to wait for the program to load before you close it. It's a nice laptop for simple things but just that. If you want something more look for something else.(:

Conservative I am. I want reliable function. My 3 Dell D510s are now about 8 years old and starting to faulter. My nephew said HP is the way to go. Researching reliability was conflicting but thought I would give HP a shot.

This is a lower level notebook which is fine. I am not a gamer, I dont skipe. And it bothers me when a good computer like this is called a starter. I am on my 12 computer..I am no beginner or rookie. Windows 7 messed me up, I have no outlook express anymore nor is it available. The only other problem other then the software is the clicker. below the touch pad. it is single.

I am use to two pads to click left or click right. This has a mono tab that takes excessive pressure to click.

One last gripe is there are no window disks for back up, once I had an HP hard drive go bad and had to buy windows.

I read the first thing to do is make back up CD's. My 1st 4 attempts have failed at this necessary task.

Over all glad I bought it. Screen, appearance, keyboard, battery life, as expected.

Trackpad works on and off. Ended up getting a USB mouse. Battery lasts 2 hours max out of the box, and loses battery capacity quickly. iTunes and a web page open at the same time? Only if you want it to sound like a skipping CD. It's a buggy computer, but it's cheap. The black finish scratches VERY easily. Replaced the HP with a MacBook Pro, it's 4 times the price but it certainly feels like it will last a lot longer.

I got this to use as a second computer for work and I think it does the job pretty well. It is tiny so think of a tablet with a keyboard attached, except it isn't touch screen but perfect for on-the-go or remote working. The sound quality could be better but the picture is good and for a small computer, it has decent speed. The wifi connection is sometimes temperamental and I have to restart for it to find and connect to networks but since it only takes 10-20 seconds to restart it doesn't seem like that much of a hassle.

Using Windows 8 on this computer is a little disappointing without being able to use a touch screen. Using the snap feature is a little silly, too because the screen is so small but it is nice being able to toggle between programs and apps.

Overall: I would recommend this computer but only to certain people looking for a specific type of machine.

This laptop was inexpensive and had some nice features. It runs Windows 8, but is not a touchscreen. It is a partial touchscreen, which I found useless, although a more experienced windows 8 user might have liked it. I've had laptops for years and maybe I'm just used to my other touchpads, but I found this one to be difficult to work with -not easy to move then suddenly jumping. I probably would have gotten used to it eventually but when there are so many out there that work easily, I didn't see the point. I found the keyboard to feel like a toy -not sure how to describe that clicky keys sensation.
