I bought one of these laptops two months ago. It has been working just fine. Today Microsoft told me that the license is not valid. It has a valid certificate of authenticity on the back but does not have a second "refurbished" CoA. When I look at the internal System Properties/General tab it says "XP Corporate" which means it was covered under a volume/site license which can not be transferred or sold. I will probably have to buy a fresh copy of XP ($150) and re-install.

Before I made the order I checked to see that the advertisement specified "Genuine Windows XP". I also checked the CoA when it arrived. When the Microsoft updater offered to run "Genuine Advantage" to check the authenticity I confidently thought "sure, go right ahead." Now every time I restart I get a big message that says I am a victim of software piracy. If left uncorrected, I expect the operating system would eventually simply stop running.

Some vendors specify "Genuine Windows XP". If it arrives with XP it may be legitimate, or NOT. Microsoft has a very active updating and authenticating program. You probably don't want a system that is not kept up to date and free of security vulnerabilities. The updater will check the system validity.

Got my laptop today, was shipped quickly. Before I even received it I emailed the seller with some questions and was met with quick responses and the seller was very helpful. VERY happy with this laptop and with the customer service I received. I will definitely order again in the future and will recommended them to family/friends!

~~This is an update to my previous review. I forgot to mention also the price. So affordable for people who could never afford to buy brand new. I am so very happy with this laptop so far. It is everything it was said to be. Some people gave reviews about these particular laptops and nitpicked a lot of stuff. Stuff the average person may not even notice (even the high pitch sound with headphones that people complained of, even back when these were brand new, I have not noticed). I find this laptop to be PERFECT for my needs. I'm not a "gamer" and graphics stuff isn't one of my needs.

To sum it up: I got everything I expected and a little more since the things I worried about were not an issue. For a family who is low income or at least on a very tight budget, and just wants a laptop to surf or read, etc. this is it. Also, the seller was wonderful to work with. I gave five stars and those still stick!!!!

I was skeptical about purchasing a refurbished D610. It has worked like a charm the speed and capacity are suitable for my needs. It's a great home computer, I don't have to do any heavy computing with it but it seems quite capable to take on any job.

The only thing that could be better is the brightness of the screen. I need to do some research to see if I can make adjustment in the screen brightness.

I purchased the updated anti-virus and malware software and updated my router, it accepted all I could throw at it and works just fine.

For $233.00 this has been a great bargain!!!

I purchased this laptop as a Christmas gift for my daughter. It was specified as being in B condition. This made me a little nervous as to what I would receive. It came with a small wear spot in the paint on the key board. Other than that it looks like new and seams to be functioning just fine. Its a much sturdier machine than some of the lower end / like priced units I looked at in the department stores. My daughter loves it and I'm very satisfied with the value.

I purchased this laptop as a replacement for my 5+ year old Dell Inspiron. Having recently had some bad experiences with Dell, I decided to try a Toshiba.

It's a good laptop for someone who isn't a road warrior-both the size and relatively short battery life make it less than ideal for lots of travel. Both of these problems stem from its very large screen (big screens tend to consume a lot of power), which is its biggest selling point. The large screen is great for work and watching films.

On the down side, the built-in speakers provide poor sound quality, which is not a problem if you use head phones.

Another minor drawback is the mousepad, which is positioned in such a way that your wrist is likely to tap it when typing, causing the cursor to jump inappropriately. You can tweak some settings on the mousepad's sensitivity to minimize this effect.

Toshiba Satellite L555D-S7910 17.3-Inch Laptop Black/Grey

Toshiba makes a decent laptop, but if you buy one of their products do not think for a moment that your warranty will be honored! I had an adapter cord (and transformer) that failed, and it has now been over 2 weeks that Toshiba has been "unable" to send me a replacement cord. They claim it is on "back order" with no date in sight as to when the part will be available. Of course (they tell me) I can go into a store and buy a replacement part myself (over $100) but they will not reimburse me for that I will simply have to wait for the back order in order to have it replaced under the warranty provisions. In essence, they are telling me that in all of North America they cannot put their hands on one of their own power cords, even though I could just walk into any store and buy one myself! This, they say, is their "policy" and the policy cannot be changed. In my book, this is not "policy" but rather consumer fraud buy their product, assume that you have a warranty, but when it comes to fulfilling their warranty obligation you're told to wait indefinitely or just go buy the replacement part out of your own pocket. Frankly, I had expected better from a company like Toshiba, and my experience has made me conclude that I should never consider buying another of their products ever!

This is my 6th Toshiba Satellite laptop. Bought first one in 1998 when I was driving a truck. Have never had a problem with customer service with Toshiba as one other person has said. Lost my hard drive somewhere between Chicago and San Antonio, when I got to San Antonio on a Friday afternoon at 3:00.pm they got me in at 4:00.pm and it was fixed and I was ready to go by 6:00.pm The only time I had to wait on a part was in Charlotte, NC on a Friday for a new screen and I was at my sister's house anyway and it was ready to go by 10:00 .am., since it was all under warranty never paid a cent for repairs or parts. I am happy with this laptop because I do like the bigger screen. The one drawback that I can see is the touch pad because it is in an awkward position but you can fix that by buying a mouse and turning the touch pad off. Simple easy solution to a minor problem. The last one cost $3600.00 5 yrs ago and had a lot less on it so the price is reasonable. I would recommend this product for someone who likes a big screen.

Pros:

* 17,3 inch flat screen!!.

* Fast!.

Cons:

* The originall battery life, just 2 1/2 hours.

* Webcam low def.

* Office's 60 days trial.

* Not pre installed antivir.

In general I'm happy with my laptop. Most of the cons are things that I can fix or buy.

I hate this piece of crap computer... I will never buy another Toshiba Satellite again. The last one I had was a Satellite P205D-S7454. It died after one year, due to a product-wide problem in the BIOS causing the computer to "think" it was overheating & shut down. I replaced it with this one... BIG mistake. Now after only 1 year, it too has crashed due to failed memory that I now have to replace. It constantly shuts down on me, or restarts, or freezes. It has become nothing but a glorified paper weight that SOMETIMES allows me maybe an hour's worth of work before shutting down on me again. The SECOND the warranty is up, this stuff starts happening on these computers. I am computer savvy... I know what I am doing, and these computers are a disgrace. I had dead pixels on the screen within 1 month of receiving the pc. The mouse pad is in a really awkward place, causing you to constantly click into different programs & start typing god-knows-where. EXTREMELY frustrating. Oh and the speakers... the horrible, awful speakers... there is hardly any volume, and you can't hear a thing unless you're wearing headphones (and I am 28 years old, with no hearing problems). This thing is also a terrible fingerprint magnet... the display & pc itself look disgusting & require cleaning constantly. I am replacing this PC with a different brand and am never looking back. I would NOT recommend buying this computer, although laptop reviews rarely tend to be useful, since the jerks at big name brand stores NEVER sell anything but brand new models... meaning there are no reviews to be found on them... meaning you are on your own to find out after a year if they are worthless pieces of junk or not, like this one. I hate this computer, I hate Toshiba, and I will never, ever buy from them or recommend them again. I would STRONGLY advise the same for others.

For the price I couldn't ask for more.

Intel core i3 @2.4 GHz, 4 GBs of RAM, and a 320 GB hard drive.

Clear screen with rich color and a good black level.

Webcam is pretty standard for a laptop. Good picture given enough light.

Came with a bit of bloatware, but not too much. Even so, I reinstalled Win 7 and the programs I wanted for my needs (made sure to make an image of the stock configuration before).

Performance is quick and responsive while browsing, opening large pdf's, and watching video.

Should do fine with light gaming, although I don't use it for that.

With normal use, I'm getting anywhere from 3-4 hours from the battery.

Touchpad works well with no skipping. All the same, I invested in a laptop mouse and disabled the touchpad. Easy enough.

One little mono speaker, with the quality of sound you'd expect from that. It's clear enough to watch video and hear what's being said, but if you're planning on listening to music or watching video with stereo sound, get a decent pair of portable earphones.

It's pretty light for such a big notebook, just under 6 lbs.

If you're planning on traveling with this, you'll want a solid case for it. While it is by no means flimsy, it's not the most solid notebook I've owned.

Construction is all light plastic.

Have only has this for about a month, so we'll see how it holds up over time, but for now, all's well.

For just over $400, I consider this an excellent buy.

Honest reviews on Acer AS5742-6682 15.6-Inch Notebook Computer - Mesh/Black

I agonize over any purchase over $20 and this one (thankfully as usual) turned out to be a good investment. I was looking for a netbook or laptop that could step in as a home media PC (limited use), handle basic tasks like word and even some light video editing/graphic design I was drawn to this guy over and over for the 2.4ghz processing speed, 4 gig ram (upgraded to 8 for $31 at microcenter), ability to handle HD vid/audio through HDMI and just overall good reviews. Take off the limited bloatware, toy with the wifi (if you need to) and you will be rocking and rolling with this fast little puppy! I can run photoshop and 8 chrome tabs with no problems, I installed VLC player and have watched hours of 720 and 1080 video, mostly MKV's, with no problems or skipping or anything and I'm running out the HDMI into a 55" plasma. It's a gorgeous video feed and no tinkering with settings, pretty much just let it mirror your desktop which it does automatically. Sound on the speaker can get decently loud however it's tingy but rest assured through headphones or into your home receiver or just portable speaker it is cranking out beautiful sound and 7.1 channels with no problems. Didn't need the big hard drive but no complaints. As said, upgraded to 2x 4 gig mem cards (it has 2 slots only FYI) for a total of 8 gig. My only issue was the wifi signal at home dropping out, it would start at 105 MBPS which is good but I would watch it drop out to as low as 7 at times! I was even thinking of returning it, I restored it, updated drivers, still bad. My 2 yo Acer netbook was flying with no probs. I hardwired this thing through ethernet and it was a steady 150 MBPS but who wants wires?! Anyway, I just opened the intel settings and tinkered with it and it was being limited to a 20 ghz channel (or something, I can't recall), I put that setting on auto and it's been steady over 100 ever since! Netflix in HD, no problems. Phew! I got mine from microcenter for $379 + $30 for memory upgrade. Oh and ya, it's a plastic cover which means (good) lighter laptop and (I guess not so good to some people) feels cheaper than my netbook or older laptops but look if you drop these things without a static hard drive or whatever you could easily be S-O-L regardless so don't let that bother you. Buy this guy, open up the pretty HD display (I'm getting 4+ hours of batter life which is a super bonus too!) and enjoy for less than 1/2 of what a mac would cost and a lot less than ultrabooks at the moment.

I bought this computer for some correspondence college courses and general study/ internet and have been EXTREMELY satisfied! I wanted something that could handle some graphics for games such as battlefield and America's Army 3, but wouldn't break the bank and this is what I got! With the Core i3 processor and 4GBs of RAM, this thing ZOOMS on the internet! What a steal! the only thing that I don't like is all of the bloatware, but tha is to be expected coming from the manufacturer itself.

5/5 for me!

Customer Ratings: 2.5 stars

Note: This review started out as a 3-star review. In my final update, I explain why it graduated to a 5-star review.

I wanted a new computer with Windows 7 but none could be found, so I settled for this one. I like the looks of it and the weight, but I have zero interest in using Microsoft's tile desktop. To avoid it, all you have to do is hit the Windows button on the keyboard and you'll have what looks pretty much like a Windows 7 desktop. That increased my comfort level considerably.

However, the touch pad has a mind of its own. When typing, I must be swiping the touch pad because windows keep re-sizing themselves. Very frustrating. Speaking of sizing, I don't know whose eyes can see the default font size. I just know for sure it's not my eyes. I've had to go through all my bookmarks, boosting the display to 120% or 133%.

Scrolling is a real pain. I intend to look for instructions on how to use the touch pad with more skill. Everything I've done so far is just following all my learned habits with touch pads, which I've been using exclusively for many years. This touch pad is like nothing I've ever used before. In addition to the scrolling headache, just plain clicking is different. You have to be in the upper center part of the touch pad for the computer to respond.

And now about the "night shift" lighting on the keyboard: It would be fine if I could turn off the lights when I don't want them. They're extremely distracting during daylight. When the room goes dark, the keyboard is great. A nice improvement. But during daylight, the lights that go around the keys are parallel lines of bright lights that glare and distract. The lighting has zero benefit, and a considerable dis-benefit. As I get into the documentation that came with the computer, I may find they can be turned off. If so, I'll update this review. The lights would be fine if you're sitting right above the keyboard and looking down, but I surf in the comfort of a recliner, so the laptop is in my lap and at an angle so I'm looking right at the lines of light, three per key along the under side of the keys.

It's also more than a little maddening to try to find all the familiar settings so easily available in Windows 7. I've been able to do much of what I wanted to accomplish when setting defaults, but it was not without considerable effort -trial and error.

I thought the tiles (which I intend to never use) were supposed to be responsive to touch, but they aren't on my computer. Maybe I was just mistaken about the model (this one) I ordered.

I have ordered a keyboard skin from Sony that will probably cover the lights that are such a bother to me in a well-lighted room. If not, I'll also update the review to reflect that.

I give the OS one-star because it's cumbersome and unfamiliar -and I'm doubting I'll ever adapt to the touch pad. That drags down my overall rating to three stars. If this baby came with Windows 7, I'd be giving it four stars -knocking off that fifth star because of the way the keyboard lights look in daylight.

Update: I just played some videos and was very disappointed in the quality (or lack thereof) of the speakers. There's a hollowness to the sound that I do not like, and I doubt many people would.

Another Update: The lights on the keyboard can be turned off, but when you want them on again you have to go into your settings and reactivate them. It's not worth the trouble.

With zoom turned off on the touch pad, I find the touch pad far more user friendly. My pages are no longer changing sizes without my intending to make that happen.

Scrolling problems I was having have been solved by simply using the arrow keys to zip through a page.

Something else that may be important to those considering buying this computer is that, according the Sony tech rep, this model does NOT have a touch screen. When ordering I assumed it did, but the lack of it doesn't matter to me. I'll never use the tile screen -but it may matter to someone else wanting to use the tiles on the Win8 desktop.

Now that I have things more under my control, I'm liking the computer enough to un-do my original three-star rating to now give this laptop 5 stars despite a few quibbles that remain (for example, the rather lousy speakers). And there's one big plus I learned today from a Sony tech rep: the letters on the keys will never wear off. As someone who wears letters off within six months of use, this is great news. The reason the keys won't wear off is because of how they're designed to let the light shine through. I had ordered a skin to prevent wear and the rep said it's still a good idea to use the skin to prevent damage to the keyboard from liquids. She said the lights will still shine through the skin.

Many thanks to the commenter who suggested I download the free Classic Shell program. It is far better than just hitting the Windows key as I suggested above.

One more thing: Every darn time you resume your computer after having closed the lid, you have to sign into your Microsoft account again and enter a password. The password cannot be saved to spare you the trouble of typing. If you don't have a Microsoft account, you must create one when first firing up the computer. (If you're more computer-savvy than I am, you can avoid that need to always type a password if you know how to set up a second account that has no password. Sony tech support walked me through that, but I lost the settings when I had to restore the computer to an earlier time and I didn't want to go thru multiple phone calls again to do it all over again. Why multiple? Because some Sony tech support reps say it can't be done; you have to call till you find one who admits it can be done and helps you do it.)

Another update: Sony's skin for this model's keyboard arrived today. For me, it's 25 bucks down the drain. The Sony tech rep was right: the light does shine through the skin, but in a hazy sort of way. But that's not my complaint. It formed a very small ridge at the bottom of the space bar and I did not like the way that felt each time I hit the space bar. I kept the skin on the keyboard less than five minutes. Its not working out is not a loss, other than money-wise, because I'm feeling quite comfortable with the lighted keyboard now that I've spent several days with it.

Final (I think) update: As is pointed out in another review, the wifi on this model is giving some people big problems. I experienced the same thing -getting kicked off the internet many times per day. I called Sony support several times and they tried lots of "fixes" that didn't fix the problem. I decided to try a different router and that made all the difference in the world. I bought a Medialink router here on Amazon. Now I always have four or five bars and I stay connected. But be aware that there are lots of people who haven't been able to get the problem resolved (as of 8-25-13) judging from all the complaints on Sony's website (linked to in the "warning" review on this page). What they describe is what I experienced until getting the Medialink router. However, if you want to use the laptop away from your router in other hot spots, you may be very disappointed in the wifi's speed, range, and/or ability to stay connected to the Internet. Many owners are hoping Sony will issue a fix for the problem, but so far the only solution I've found is the Medialink router. I never take my laptop away from home, so hot spot use isn't an issue for me.

The velocity of the WiFi is an issue. My five years Toshiba Satellite works better. It seems that above 100 ft. the signal is lost. I read similar complaints and chat support doesn't help. You can read other complaints in this site: http://community.sony.com/t5/VAIO-Hardware-Networking/VAIO-Fit-slow-wifi/td-p/143697.

Honest reviews on Sony VAIO Fit Series SVF14214CXB 14-Inch Core i5 Laptop

It would be a great laptop if it would stay connected to wifi. After about 2 months I need to disconnect and reconnect after every time I open it, and about every 10-15 min. The laptop thinks it is connected to the internet but its really not, something to do with this model having faulty wireless cards. The only fix I've seen is to replace the card on your own dime.

On my hyper-expensive Sony Vaio fit running Windows 8, I get regular crashes I think associated with BlackBerry link. But a known problem since at least January 2013 is that the wifi is appallingly bad. It drops intermittently and fails all the time. Sony know this, but have failed to do anything about it just google sony vaio wifi fit problems for information...

The worst thing is that Sony have surrounded themselves with layer upon layer of "customer service" people who they have turned into terrible jobsworths with procedures and rules. They have multiple layers, long queues, they stick to the rules, they don't call back when they promise to do so.

Never, ever buy a Sony Vaio and if you do, make sure you get the onsite warranty, and a spare laptop for when it's away getting repaired..

I love the look and the feel! Never had such a beautiful machine.

Specs are fine. Lighted keyboard is great. You can even a just it or put it off.

I just find it needs a upgrade to more RAM. So I just bought a 8GB ram 12500 speed.

That should smoothen operation a bit. All in all I would buy it again. Great laptop for business.

Not a good laptop for gaming. Graphic card is not made for that to my opinion.

I'm not interested in writing a long and drawn out review of this product. I mainly just wanted to state that those who are interested in this system with the IPS screen may want to reconsider if light bleed concerns them. You will find that after doing some research on the internet, IPS screens are notorious for light bleed. I was hoping the new Alienware systems would be an acceptation considering all the rave from many official reviews I had read mentioning not to skimp on the screen upgrade. My screen had light bleed across the entire bottom, which overlapped with the right side, and I also had some in the the top left corner that nearly projected across the entire screen back down in to the lower right hand corner. Also, opening and closing the screen exaggerated the light-bleed very badly. My upper left corner did have very slight play/give in it, which may have contributed to the significant amount of light bleed that I experienced. I also did a Google search and found many forums with people purchasing these new IPS panels with horrible light bleed. You will mainly notice this in dark rooms on dark backgrounds such as games with dark scenes or watching movies with darker scenes. It will also be pronounced if you are in a dark room and the computer screen is booting up. I will be returning this system (Alienware 14 w/1080p screen) since I ended up buying the Alienware 17 with 1600 by 900 screen. It has the old school TN panel. While the TN panel may be lower resolution, I won't have to worry about any concerns with light bleeding. Just my thoughts that may be worth sharing. I may come back and write a much more thorough review if I feel inspired to do so. I can say that anyone interested in the new Alienware lineup will find that the build quality is top notch in contrast to nearly any other gaming system. They have set out to be the Apple build quality of gaming systems to put things into perspective.

One other thing worth noting is that I did consider exchanging this system for the same one given the defects I had experienced. However, since I purchased my system through an outside party to Amazon who was prime eligible, Amazon could not do an even exchange.

If you have any general questions about this system, I will do my best to respond. Take care and enjoy!

Okay so this laptop is truly awesome after 2 months of use (EDITED), the battery life is awesome, I was in a study group for college and some girl asked me "uh, oh! youre gonna need a outlet soon, right?" and I said "No, I have 30% left.....which means 3 hours!" The best charge I've gotten is about 9 1/2 hours, they're really not lying, just make sure you have it on power saver mode. I dont really see that much of a performance difference when it's on this setting.

This laptop is nothing described as in the other review giving it one star. Maybe manufacturing on that one went bad, but otherwise it is an excellent laptop. I just got it today though, but I wanted to save it from that horrible review, only bad things are the way oily fingerprints show up on the outside, but its better than having a cheapy glossy finish. So just wipe it off every so often. I will update this review in the time being as I use the laptop more.

EDITED:

Wow what a unique laptop, the bamboo finish, or shall I say wood!, is awesome. It may attract a little bit more oil from your fingers, but a great sacrifice instead of having to deal with a cheapy glossy finish on the wood. The laptop is fast, haven't noticed any glitches. The touchpad buttons are firm, not hard to push, I find that I am in more control and that I'm not accidentally pressing random things because of the sensitive buttons. The chiclet keyboard is awesome, way better than any other keyboard I've usedespecially the mac. The sound system is good, even better with headphones plugged in for some reason. Graphics....awesome. Numberpad--rare and convenient.....ASUS Expres AMAZING! its so cool is an alternate boot up option if you dont have time to wait and you can access all that you need to in literally 2 seconds, no joke at all. Way to stand out ASUS.

So this laptop is not only flashy and unique, but it's functionality is nothing but exceptional. So glad I trusted my instinct.

The bamboo really gives the laptop a unique feel and is sure to impress your friends. The keyboard is pretty easy to type on and has a nice feel. I really like the multi-touch pad as well. You can use 1, 2 or 3 fingers. The trackpad buttons are pretty stiff, but you really don't need to use them once you learn to use multi-touch.

The system multitasks beautifully and runs very cold. You can't even hear the fan running with most tasks. The battery life is decent. I'll get about 4 or 5 hours in the normal power mode, but if I switch to the "super hybrid engine" I get closer to 8 or 9 hours.

I've had the system for 6 days now, and for the most part, the system runs beautifully. The biggest problem I've had so far is that the keyboard fn shortcuts are buggy. When I use the keyboard buttons to mute the sound, It won't become unmuted until after I restart the system. The volume buttons also randomly stopped working, so I had to go to the ASUS website and download new drivers, which fixed that problem.

I'll add updates if I run into any more problems.

New glitch: The headphone jack doesn't work. I reinstalled the drivers, but it didn't work. I seem to be having a lot of audio issues with this laptop.

I have had this computer out of the box for about three days now. I like the look of the machine (it does not seem cheap as previous poster stated). Fast, keyboard is nice, high resolution camera is nice.

One problem to let people know about: It comes with some pre-loaded Oberon games (the Oberon Game Park). Unfortunately, Oberon has bad software and when you uninstall these games it causes a problem with the registry and affects a few other programs/functions.

My google chrome browser ceased to function and the audio hotkeys on the keyboard also stopped working. By reinstalling chrome and the audio and keyboard drivers, both problems were fixed. Just something to be aware of. If you don't mind having a few mediocre games on your computer it is nothing to worry about.

The machine itself is of high quality and runs well. It was easy to reinstall Windows to factory settings by hitting F9 at startup, something I appreciated when I was dealing with the software glitch.

Warning: This review is likely to undergo edits as time passes.

I've been using this laptop for 4 days now and here's my experience so far:

The good:

-Right off the bat, this thing is BEAUTIFUL. The pictures on amazon don't do it justice. They're too dark and don't really show off how nice the wood grain looks.

-The chiclet keyboard is responsive and comfortable.

-The touchpad is a very nice touch. People have complained about the button being hard to push, but they're probably used to having two separate buttons for right/left click. If you push toward the edge, clicking is very easy.

-It's very fast.

The bad:

-The numeric keypad doesn't really add anything. It just makes the right side of the keyboard feel pretty cramped.

-The screen, while great when viewed straight-on, has a very limited viewing angle.

-The HDMI port is okay as long as the machine stays perfectly still. A couple of small moves both caused it to disconnect the TV as an external monitor, resulting in a lag as it moved all windows back to the laptop's screen, then another lag as it rediscovered the TV, at which point I had to manually move all the windows back.

Other thoughts:

-The Express Gate is a cool idea in theory, but I don't really see a practical use for it. It doesn't take much time at all to just boot into Windows.

This notebook is vented on the left side and draws air through the bottom. If you plan to use it on your lap, it's a very good idea to invest in a lap desk to keep it elevated it puts out VERY hot air.

So many things to give me smiles about this purchase.

1. I received my purchase the day after it shipped

2. The "packaging" of the ASUS was impressive. Computer was in a really nice box that was well padded and kept my purchase protected.

3. I really appreciated that all of the stickers (i.e intel, windows, etc.) were not applied directly to the computer and instead were applied to the protective plastic.

4. The computer was not loaded with a lot of unnecessary software.

5. Really like Windows7. Easily updated to Windows7 Pro. It is very intuitive.

6. Computer is quiet and does not run hot.

7. Battery is long lasting.

8. Start-up is less than a minute.

I've been using the computer for about a month and will update if I experience anything negative or have any problems with Asus directly.

bought this machine at officedepot with orig specs amd sempron/256g ram/40g hdd. after upgrading to amd turion64, 1g ram, 60g hdd, this machine is flying. runs windows 7 professional and office 2010. so far I have no complaints. machine has a lot of mileage but runs apps and surfs heavily flash websites with no hiccups. best sub $500 notebook ever. I just cant understand why would anyone spend $400 on an intel atom netbook when you can get one of these for the same price
