I'm always on the go, and I needed a machine that was light, fast, and had a good screen resolution.

I've been using the Samsung NP900X3E-K01US for a month now and it's ridiculously LIGHT, SNAPPY FAST, and a BEAUTY.

A few reviews have already mentioned the core of this ultrabook's pros and cons, so I won't bore you with a repeat information. Instead, I'd like to share with you a few thoughts of the machine and use cases:

My biggest concern for not jumping on to this deal right away was due to the 4GB RAM restriction. I still feel a little upset that Samsung didn't put a 8GB RAM on this machine, but surprisingly it's adequate enough for me. I use Photoshop heavily for all my freelance work. I have CS6 and Photoshop runs perfectly fine for web work. However, the 4GB restriction starts to kick in when you're working with HUGE documents (300ppi) magazines, because the scrub zoom feature becomes disabled. Fortunately, I only do webdesign and do not need to work on huge pictures and publications. However, if you are in the business of such, I would look for another machine.

I code a lot. I'm usually seen having multiple programs open: sublime, photoshop, visual studio 2012, eclipse, Chrome with 20+ tabs open, and Firefox streaming music. Yet, there is no sign of lag. I hit roughly ~60% memory usage.

Sometimes, I like to sit on my bead and watch streams like Twitch.tv and Youtube. The ultrabook does get a little toasty hot and at times can be too hot for it to lay on your bare legs.

As some users have mentioned, the wifi has some issues, but it's not bad. It can be a simple fix as reconnecting or just sitting closer to the wifi spot.

I'm coming from a Macbook Air and I'll admit the Samsung's trackpad is very good. Although, I will say the Air has a slightly better response. Nevertheless, the trackpad does a mighty fine job and feels really good.

Overall, I love this machine. It has allowed me to program/design on the fly due to its lightness and great battery life. The machine does its job and the 1080p MATTE screen is gorgeous. Photoshop editing is a joy due to the vibrant colors and programming is so much easier as you can have two windows side by side and not suffer from lack of screen real estate. For those holding off due to the 4GB RAM, I completely understand the concern, but it has not been an issue for me yet.

This computer is awesome. i have always used 15" screen laptops in the past, then I decided I wanted to check out a MacBook. I loved the size at 13" and screen was perfectly clear, but I ahve learned that I have no patience for thnigs that just don't work when I need them to, for example I couldn't wirelessly print to any of the printers I owed. So along comes this jem. The same screen size, perfectly clear, the lightest laptop I have ever used and a Solid State HDD to boot. I have never used a machine that was so fast. It boots in about 3 seconds, it comes out of hiberantion in about 2 seconds. I am not a fan of Windows 8 by any strech, but I can tolerate it on this. The lighted keyboard is great, the keys are very responsive, movies look good on this and I use it for almost everything.

So want don't I liek about it, the wireless sucks. I have about 6 laptops of varying makes in my house and all of them work flawlessly from anywhere in my house, but this mahcine drops signals faster than it boots. I mean the wireless is really bad, very frustrating and generally gets me mad enought to want to throw it across the room.

But, I love enerything else about it, so I can suffer a little and just better position myself. It really has so many good points and travels light that I enjoy using it, just have to be careful when i'm trying to get an internet connection.

Update 9/3/13:

So in my review I mention the ohorrible WiFi. I finally called Samsung over the Holiday weekend and they were actually there to ehlp me out. I explained my issues and they had me change a few settings and so far...the Wireless is rocking! If this fixes the WiFi issues, then this is the best laptop I have ever owned.

Best Deals for Samsung ATIV Book 9 NP900X3E-K01US 13.3-Inch Full HD Premium

Completely satisfied with the purchase of the ATIV book 9. I have been using a 13 inch laptop and this is my first ultrabook.

Pros

well designed. feels and works like a premium product.

Extremely lightweight if you have to travel with your laptop.

Gorgeous full HD display. Images are crisp and clear with good contrast.

Very good trackpad which registers all the movements accurately. The absence of touchscreen is not felt here. It maybe a personal preference but having a touchscreen on a laptop may not be that helpful (only if it converts to a tablet would it be useful .. like the Lenovo Ideapad).

Good back lit keyboard.

Quiet.

very good battery life. easily went beyond 6 hrs with normal usage (word processing, web browsing etc)

Cons

Not really a con ... but has bunch of applications pre-installed. You might want to get rid of intellimemory. Its not needed if you have SSD and infact slows down the computer. Dont know why samsung opted for it.

The battery power adapter pin does not go all the way in the slot of the ultrabook. It sticks out a bit and feels a bit loose. Not really a deal breaker .. it charges fine .. but if you are paying a premium you would assume samsung to take care of these details.

Because of the thin form factor, VGA port is different and you would need to buy an adapter to connect to external display which uses normal VGA pins. Ideally Samsung should have bundled it in by default.

if you need lots of ports or you are an avid gamer (casual gaming is fine) .. this may not be the laptop for you.

Honest reviews on Samsung ATIV Book 9 NP900X3E-K01US 13.3-Inch Full HD Premium

There have been some issues with the series 9 with wifi, and the trackpad. But not here. Samsung seems to have perfected this little jewel. Touch Pad works flawlessly. There is no touch screen and for good reason. This machine's 1080P matte screen is gorgeous. When I saw it at Best Buy it made everything else look terrible in the store.. including the mac pro retina's. Its that good. Ended up buying here because I wanted the fastest 2.0 i7 and 256GB SSD. Paid 1500 and worth every penny believe me. I got close to 6 hours battery life already doing web and a little you tube. Back lit KB is very nice.. very luxurious looking and I love the feel of the KB as well and can type fast with few mistakes. I think luxurious is the best word for this machine. Everything just works as it should. The precision of the build quality is like nothing I have every seen. The lid closes perfectly and the hinge feels solid yet smooth to operate. The SSD on mine is a liteon and its is very fast. The one thing I worried about was the speakers and they are amazing sounding for how small this ultrabook is. Sure not much bass but very pleasing and not shrill sounding or harsh in any way. Samsung is getting ready to release a ultra hi resolution touch screen version of this and I did not want it because of the glossy screen and its a half pound heavier. Its just crazy that all this packed into a 2.5 lb package. Even the MB air is bulky next to this and it looks dated and cheap next to the top of the line ativ book 9. This is the one to get believe me. It has plenty of storage with the 256GB SSD and has the fastest i7 2.0 that turbos over 3. I've owned 5 other laptops which were mid to high grade consumer class. I always had some issues with all of them. Some I had second doubts after receiving them. Not with the book 9. I have zero second doubts about this purchase. And believe me, at 1500 dollars if anything is out of place I will know it and not be happy.

The only con can say at this time is with W8. But I am customizing that to my liking and actually like what W8 is under the hood. I would not go back to W7. The track pad does fine navigating it and I also bought a MS BT Sculpt comfort Mouse which is a great BT mouse since you don't need to use a USB port. This only has two USB but I really don't fault Samsung for that. There is absolutely no room for more ports. Remember, all this at the impossible weight of 2.5 lbs.

Pros: Battery life, design, extremely light, amazing matte display, good keyboard, multi-touch gestures, blazing fast ssd.

Cons: Minor issues with touch pad, some settings are hard to find (note: this problem would occur with any windows 8 device so they really aren't cons), no touch screen, cannot upgrade ram(4 gigs is enough for me though)

I would say this laptop fits anyone who wants an extremely portable laptop and can easily slip it into an backpack or carry it around. For someone who wants a top-of-the line ultrabook that is fast, slim, and whose design they can show off because it is flawless. I cannot say enough about the looks of the laptop, especially the display and the back-lit keyboard. Not to mention this thing is fast...

It was expensive but after owning this product for a few weeks I'd say it's worth it because I love it. Check out my full video review here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdYWVXOrYG4

Three weeks after I received this laptop, it suddenly displayed the "blue screen of death" one night while I was surfing the internet. It never would re-start, even in Safe Mode; nor would it boot from the restore disc that I had burned. The only option Acer offered was for me to ship the computer to their repair facility in Texas, at my expense ($30). I did ship it, two and a half weeks ago, and still haven't gotten it back. If this is indicative of the kind of service and reliability a person can expect from Acer, I would recommend not buying one. There's a reason the price is low-you get what you pay for. At least with a company like HP, you can take your computer to a local authorized repair facility if something happens to it, and have it back in a short time. I wish I would have spent a little more money and gotten a better-quality machine.

As for the performance of the computer itself, the speakers are of poor quality (very quiet), so watching DVD's without headphones or external speakers is not enjoyable at all. Also, the DVD player lags/skips at least a few times with every DVD I've viewed; sometimes more often than that.

I'm not even sure why they call this a laptop because with less than a 1 hour battery life it certainly isn't portable by any means. Also if you have it on standby and not plugged in it will be completely dead by the time you go back to it, even if it was fully charged when you closed the top. The ac adapter pretty much just falls out with any little motion. It also doesn't have enough video card to play small flip videos either and it really struggles with streaming video as well. By the time you get a spare battery, new video card, louder speakers, etc.. you might as well have spent the money up front.

I bought one of these new in 2009, and am typing on it right now. I love this machine and am currently looking for another one for when this one does start to have problems. The thing with this model is that it was released with 2 major variants. the single core TF-20 1.6ghz and the dual core TK-42 1.6ghz. the single core one is crap stock, but you can buy the best processor for the socket for about $35 bucks now. these things were $450 or so new in 2009. be careful when looking for one. if your battery dies fast it is because it's worn out or it's used and someone screwed up the memory in it.

You can get new batteries and CPUs etc no problem. The motherboards and some of the other parts are starting to run out, and it's getting harder to find an actual new one of these now. If it doesn't come in it's box with clear plastic film covering the whole thing it is not new. If you can get a new one, upgrade the cpu, max out the ram, and throw an ssd in it, you will have a very decent laptop. The biggest bottleneck in this machine is the integrated graphics. the Radeon hd 3200 is not going to let you play new games, but the system is definately powerful enough for anything that is not too graphics intensive.

I like the asthetic appeal and overall design of the laptop. I have a sick gaming desktop and this does everything else. The bottom line though, even if you did get one new in box and spent another $150 bucks to max it out... that's like $600-$700. My newest phone is almost as powerful as this laptop, and $700 will buy something decent even if it's from the low end of a newer upgradable line with a decent parts pool. I'm only here because I have grown attachemd to mine lol. It's going to be sad when it dies, probably miss it more than my first dog. (knocked a star off because it is getting hard to find parts)

Honest reviews on 15.6IN 3GB/160/WIN 7 64BIT

Hardware is great, really small but deilevers a punch. However the mouse pad is exceedingly annoying. I carry my laptop everywhere and don't use a mouse, so this is aggravating. The mouse pad is maybe 1.5 inches by 4 inches and insensitive to touch. Don't expect much noise out of the speakers either.

I actually won this laptop in raffle, but for what the price is on Amazon, it's well worth it. You can't expect a power house of a computer under $500 even from Acer.

The graphics card is the ATI Radeon HD 3200, and it's an onboard shared memory card. Usually those cards are "pieces of crap" but I was surprised with what I could do with it. But don't think you will be maxing out many games.

The processor is AMD Athlon 64 Processor TF-20 which is a lowly single core 1.66 ghz processor. Yes, that's very little but again I was surprised with what it can do.

Games I've played and have ran smoothly have been

-Guild Wars (Maxed out)

-League of Legends (Minimum Settings)

-Forsaken World (Medium)

-Starcraft 2 (Minimum settings) Note here: Single Player ran like a breeze, no lag at all. Multiplayer was differnt, it lagged some. I had to overclock the processor in order for it to play smoothly (and this isn't a processor that is meant to be overclocked so I don't recommend doing it).

-Dragon Age (Minimum Settings) This surprisingly ran pretty smoothly, some lag when in battles.

-Fallout 3 (Semi Minimum Settings) I only had terrain on medium here and it ran somewhat smoothly, it probably would have ran better if it was on low.

I also ran other programs such as Auto-CAD and Pro/E perfectly fine on this machine.

As for streaming videos this computer is finicky about it. Sometimes I can watch Starcraft 2 games in 720p on Youtube smoothly and sometimes I can't. The wireless works perfectly fine, no complaints here, except at my college where the wireless is horrendous.

TL;DR: This is a good computer for anyone if they don't expect to do anything too strenuous on it, just simple everyday task such as going on facebook or playing simple flash games. Like I said before I was surprised with what I could do with this computer. The website says 160gb HDD but it's really about 140 (but that's pretty much the same with all HDD's). If I'm browsing the web not watching videos with the brightness down I get about 1 hour 30 minutes of battery time. But that's also because I just keep my computer plugged in (about 40-50 minutes of life if playing a simple game such as Dungeon Fighter Online). It can multi task to an extent but this Laptop is severely limited by it's processor.

I don't know why the price is $450 now, I remember looking at this before and it was $400.

Also, I kinda wish this laptop was able to output HDMI, as it doesn't have the HDMI port.

I got this one with 16GB RAM, a slower 1TB HDD, and Windows 7. It has a 265GB boot drive on it too. My wife gets a Dell discount through her job and I saved probably $200-300 and got away with a very powerful machine. I wanted a powerful machine to run Photoshop and Painter but I realized something ... this thing can play any game I put on it. I started with my all time favorites and ones that I haven't been as of yet able to run. Tron 2.0, Star Wars TFU 1 & 2. Now I'm taking a stab at Call of Duty Black Ops 2! This ain't Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear we're swinging now! Now all these High end games on Steam are plausible now.

It's smaller than I'm used to (my other car is a "17 HP) and I'm having to learn how to not have a Key pad and G-keys. But the size doesn't really matter I'm finding out. The key to immersion in a game is the audio, not necessarily the size of the screen. I'm getting totally great results with a good set of headphones or my Altec Lansing 5 pt sound system via the "1/8 plug (really loud with wooden floors). I am jazzed and now I an buying Steam games instead of Mp3s and Kindle books lately.

My one big complaint is that 1. It is a Windows computer. It glitches all over the place randomly and I even needed a special tech support session already to get the Optical drive to recognize Blueray discs. As usual, Windows was updating for the first 72 hours and it made the unboxing real lame from the get-go.

2. The "Killer wireless" suuuuuuuucks. It's killing me. I get no wifi reception 10-15 feet away from the router. Maybe the router sucks? Nope My HP gets great signal all the way in the back bedroom. Heaven forbid there should be a wall in between the router and you ... I can't even sit on the swing on the porch because I don't get enough signal to run Twitter ... Twitter!

3. The Left and right click buttons are cheezy. They were obviously an after thought. I know the little box lights up and everything, but you can't count on the thing to work when your thumb hits it. Again, my HP laptop mouse buttons feel like they were made with years of use in mind (almost 4 years now to be exact). The Alienware people are probably assuming that Gamer geeks will have a really expensive mouse ready to plug in so no biggie.

How am I supposed to kill terrorists on the spur of the moment with no external mouse, though? I mean ... some of these dark Jedi are hard enough to dismember as it is with out you missing an attack in the middle of a fight!

Also, why is the t-Pad left of center when a more comfortable position for gaming ... on a gaming laptop ... would be farther on the right? Typing would be awkward, yes, but you could have a physical kill switch close by (like my HP!!!!).

4. The Killer wireless Suuuuuuuucks. It's probably going to dump when I hit "Preview your Review" right now. I actually get a more robust internet experience using the 4G Hot spot via USB on my iPhone. What a let down. Yes it's for gaming, but you need to justify even having a wireless capability in the first place ... it's a laptop for crying out loud.

I really like the battery life. If you put it in powersaver mode, you can get some pretty good battery life out of it. I put the windows theme in "High contrast black" and turn off the Alien FX and I can add an hour onto the whole thing. If someone knows how I can "overclock" the wireless thingy and make it jam, please let me know and I'll add the star to make it a high five. If I've missed some obscure check box on some hidden utility menu (Uncheck the "Make it suck" box), contact me and I'll make the change.

In conclusion, my grand kids may be gaming on this laptop, it's that good. If you need to be portable, like me, and don't want a sissy thin and light net book, this would be the way to go. I write and blog and edit photos and design flyers and research online in a mobile setting many times, and I just couldn't do it with a battery-sucking 17" HD screen all day long. Well, you can't do it all day with this thing either, but at least it has pretty lights. The Killer Wireless sucks.

***********UPDATE 08-21-2013*************

The wireless got fixed. We stumbled on the problem when we had to fix the keyboard! The "I" key started to get real sensitive, when I'd hit the "I" key, I'd get [ii] and sometimes it would stick and I'd get [iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii}. When I'd type a bunch of "O's" I'd get [oioioioioioioio} and the same with any key around the "I" key. My Windows password had an O in it ... that was real aggravating. I had to use an external keyboard for a whole week. Finally I called Tech support.

They sent a technician to my house within 72 hours of my call and replaced the entire keyboard. When the opened it up the tech discovered that one of the wires on the wireless card was dislodged and he couldn't snap it back on. The whole thing is modular an built with repair in mind, so he had to order another Wifi card and a whole new screen because the antenna is built into the screen. Just today, 3 weeks later, another tech came over with the goods and totally disassembled the laptop. It was scary. But he put Humpty Dumpty back together again and it works. I am able to stream Amazon video from the back bedroom and websites come up amazingly faster now, I was shocked at what I'd been missing.

But sorry, Alienware, you still get four stars because of all the work that was required on such an expensive hand built machine. I once heard that all the problems you'll have with a computer happen in the first year of owning it. That sage advice has paid off. They ship parts to a repair company that comes out to your house and fixes it there instead of you sending it to Dell like the old days. Make sure you at least get the full-on one year warranty because if I hadn't, Id be typing this: "Theieie Wiiiiireiiless Suiuiuiuiuckikiks" and they'd be over there wringing their alien hands together and spending my money on spaceship parts.

It is a snappy little laptop with the I3 CPU. The body in front of the keys is flimsy plastic. I can the upper (around keyboard part) and lower (bottom) shift when I garb it. The first time this happened I thought I had broken it. The screen is nice and sharp, the sound is worthless. Even in a very quiet room hearing from the little tin can sounding under powered speakers is hard. Do not hope for better with headphones there just is not enough audio power in this laptop. The weight is nice for college but the biggest problem is the battery life.

Toshiba publishes 5+ hours of battery life I do not know what they were doing with it. Maybe they had it in sleep mode. I can not get over 1 hour 10 minutes with the stock 6 cell battery. This makes it almost useless for college. I need a long extension cord for all of my classes if I am going to use this at my college. I have two bigger Toshiba Laptops a 15" and a 17" I like all three. I wish this one could have had a realistic battery life listed. I would not have spent the money on it. I would have paid a bit more for a tablet.

I;ve had this laptop for 2 months. Here is a quick review:

Pros:

Fast machine indeed

Compact

Ability to detach the screen is a nice option

Cons:

Laptop/Tablet does not open wide enough. Not good for tall users. Must either bend head forward or detach the screen to type comfortably.

Screen needs better sensitivity

Heavy

Lastly, Windows 8 is just a pain in the neck

Fast and Compact

Only Problem is that it frequently disconnect itself from the keyboard

a bit heavy for its size.

Overall its still the best choice over its rivals.

Best Deals for Toshiba Portege Z10t-A1111 Ultrabook/Tablet - 11.6' - Intel Core i7

The Toshiba Portege Z10t (I'm using the Z10t-A111) is, in my opinion, currently the best business tablet out there for the traveling businessman or salesman. This device has the performance and capability to be used like a desktop and yet still has the portability of laptop or tablet.

Here are some pros of this device and how I can use it three different ways:

As a Desktop While I'm in my office I use the Toshiba Portégé Z10t series Dock (PA5105U-1PRPA), which includes 2 USB ports, gigabit Ethernet, power, and full size HDMI ports. With this setup I can simply drop the Z10t tablet into the dock and use my 25" monitor and full size keyboard and mouse, as I would with a desktop computer. This tablet and setup has the power to run all the applications that I need, including AutoCAD, and with the gigabit Ethernet connection I'm able to quickly open up drawings and files from our network shares.

As a Laptop The Portege Z10t includes a keyboard dock, which has 1 USB port, HDMI, VGA, and gigabit Ethernet ports. This keyboard dock is a nice option to have when I'm away from my office... whether it's making typing an email easier and the ability to use a mouse, like you would with a laptop... or connecting to a projector in a conference room and not having to use dongle adapters.

As a Tablet The Portege Z10t tablet itself has 3.5mm headphone jack, one USB3.0 port, microHDMI, power port, and a full size SD slot. As it tablet it works great at work for walking around doing inventory with Microsoft Excel, and with the USB port I can use a hand held scanner for quickly scanning in bar codes. Or relaxing at home playing a game or browsing the web. Also the full size SD is nice for getting pics off my camera. But the best part is, this is one device for everything that has all my documents and everything on it, which are always with me now... whereas before it'd be on my other tablet and then realize I didn't have a document that was on my laptop which was at work or home. Also, the Z10t easily fits in the saddle bags on my motorcycle, whereas my laptop did not... big plus for me!

The cons of this device are:

Battery life The battery life on this device is only around 5 hours at the max and under heavy use you're looking at 4 hours, maybe less. Would've been nice to see a slightly larger battery (around 45w) and the new Intel Haswell processor.... This combination would probably get around 7 hours or more, which I'd be happy with.

Fan noise Fan can get a little loud sometimes, but I usually only notice this when I'm in my office and its quiet.

Memory size Can only get this device with 4GBs of system memory. I would like to see a model with 8GBs of system memory.

Physical Keyboard The physical keyboard takes some getting used to because the key strokes are shallow... this isn't a big deal for me since I don't do much typing and if I do I can use the desktop dock and full size keyboard. Also, the screen only tilts back a little past 90 degrees while on the keyboard dock... I feel like I want to push it back further after I've opened it.

For me over all, this has been a great device with good quality and these cons have definitely been outweighed by the pros of this device... and I absolutely love how I've got down to one device now with this tablet. There will definitely be more devices coming out that will hopefully get ride of most of these cons and become the perfect business tablet... but for now this is the best one out there... In my opinion.

FYI, I've also tried the Samsung Smart PC Pro but I did not like that device because it did not have an external monitor port on the Smart PC series Desktop Dock. Also the docking port on the Smart PC had problems... if I bumped or moved this device it would frequently loose connection with the dock. The Portege Z10t has non of these issues.

This laptop is very fast, easy to use, and is an excellent choice for children. This laptop is best for web browsing and media although it can be used in an office. I do have a few complaints. This laptop breaks easily. I have owned this laptop for about six months now and have already broken the microphone and cracked the inside of the screen. Even with these defects, the laptop is still usable and better than nothing. The keys are quite loud and the sound quality is much better with headphones. I f you are looking to install windows 8 release preview or similar products, it works great. I installed the 64bit version and it is running perfectly. Overall I am satisfied although I will have to replace it soon due to damage.

psplease excuse my grammar. I am only 12 years old. most people won't bother to read my reviews if they know this.

In my educated opinion ( I repair computers for a living)this is on of the nicest, most full featured computers out there. I use a High End Sony VIO for my most difficult work but I keep a second machine to use in the field. The HDMI output is fantastic (I subscribe to Netflix) and hook this baby up giving a FABULOUS picture on a 60" screen!I also LOVE the feature that lets you log in using Facial recognition. I personally have many confidential files and trust me nobody and I mean nobody can get access to this machine but me. There is a "backdoor" way of getting in but I put in a 21 character password, just in case I grow a beard or something. Trust me, if you are in the market for a laptop costing less than $500.00 then this is the one. I give it 5 stars because it is top of the line in that price range. I have ordered 12 for resale and already have 3 "presold"

I just got this laptop as a gift only 30 hours ago but I have to say so far I love it. The only complaint I've had thus far is an issue using WiFi. As it turned out that was an problem with the Internet connection to my home and had nothing at all to do with the laptop. As another reviewer mentioned it doesn't come with a manual but it does come with an eManual on the computer which appears as an icon. I found the eManual to be quite helpful and easy to follow. The best review I can give you is this... my 15 year old niece also got the same laptop as a gift and she loves it. So if it can please a teenage girl surely it will please you too.

I was a little apprehensive about buying this computer, but so far it's great. It's running well. No problems as of yet.

To be fair, all budget-lines laptops are forgoing user manual booklet nowadays. There is a PDF version of the user guide on the computer. You need to know how to get to it.

Asus is very good with their laptops, their machine always feel slim and not too bulky compare to some of the other brands. They invented netbook (eee-PC) after all. I saw on pcmagzine this laptop scored 4.9 out of 5 on user rating.

TLDR: don't let the lack of user manual book & recovery CD discourage you, I guess there is a reason why GeekSquad are so successful. The laptop is great.

I love this computer. It was password protected when I first got it, but I was able to get around it to remove it. This is my first Mac and I just love it. It's easy to learn and follow. It looks great. I got it used, but if I hadn't known I wouldn't have been able to tell. I do plan to eventually upgrade, but I don't see the need now nor do I really want to.

This was refurbished, and it fell apart quickly. First of all, they said they would put in a new battery, but they did not use a genuine apple battery. Because of that, this cause a lot of issues with the keyboard, the CPU and the fans. After apple replaced it with an apple battery, replaced the keyboard, it was working better. Seller would not help me with this at all.

After a couple more months the display went, it now is nothing but a good looking paperweight. Cost of fixing it exceeds what I originally paid for it. Again, no help from the seller. Don't bother buying lemons from these people.

Its great. The battery life is my only concern though. I'd recommend anyone looking for their first laptop or mac to buy this model. I had to purchase additional apps but thats fine compared to paying the original retail price

Honest reviews on Macbook 13", White, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.16 GHZ, 2GB, 200 Gb Hard

I regret buying a used Macbook. After paying $400 for the actual Macbook, plus $100 for a new hard drive (since the one that came with it died after 2 months) and $25 for a new charger (since the one that came with it literally fell apart after 3 months), I would have been better off just waiting and saving up for a new one.

Did I mention that it won't read hard drives internally anymore? Because it doesn't. I have to haul around an external drive every time I move my laptop. Oh, and the battery doesn't charge anymore. So I also get to haul a charger around. It's not exactly the most portable thing now, which makes having a laptop essentially pointless.

I much prefer Mac to PC though, as far as the user-friendliness goes. So if you're thinking of switching, do it. Just don't buy used because every seller on here basically rips you off. You don't know how old and mangled it is when you get it. It could look nice on the outside but have some serious internal problems. :/

I got a Lenovo Ideapad N580 and after 3 months of having it, it started acting up and turning off by itself even if we cleaned its vents! We had to pay $45 to send it to Lenovo company and when they sent it back it was worse than before! It was poorly assembled and after a month, it started freezing or it would just stay 'thinking' when we turned it on. A month after we sent it to the company, the cd/dvd player stopped working! It still doesn't have a year with us but we think it's a waste of time to try to send it back! Just don't waste your money or time buying a computer from them! Their service sucks!

Even though the processor is relatively weak compare to the average i3-i5 laptops, this laptop gets the job done. I bought this laptop from Best Buy a few months ago for about $280 without tax but the exact same specs as this one listed. Highly recommend it if you are on a low budget.

Pros:

Well built

Slick Keyboard

Good Speaker

Decent webcam

**Really quiet(even when gaming)

**Rarely overheats(never really feel any heat from the vent)

Cons:

The touchpad is mediocre but I usually use a mouse so it doesn't bother me

Lack hotkey buttons such as buttons for changing the volume/mute

Number pad is a bit cram(Num Lock right next to the Backspace key)

No led lights indiciting if num-lock is on/off

I've had this for a week now and I still love it.

The touchscreen is responsive and the keyboard is also nice.

The speed of its boot up is unbelievable as well as the speed of the entire computer.

Very light and has a nice sleek-look.

The Intel i7 really showcases the power of this laptop.

The battery life is also excellent in terms of its usage of power. I get about consistent 4-6 hours of battery when in web browsing or watching a video.

The screen is very bright and the resolution is astonishing. (Full 1080P HD)

It also has a protective HD, which means if you drop this laptop, the most important files would automatically be saved and restored!

Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this product to anyone that loves a fast, high-tech, beautiful, and a powerful ultra book.

Plus, Lenovo is 2nd overall in terms of Laptop brand (First is Apple). So this brand is trust-worthy and a very reliable laptop.

I purchased this as MY first laptop after having many PC's and netbooks, as well as Smartphones and Tablets. From Apple to Blackberry to Android sysytems. I have never felt the need to have a laptop being that almost everything I need to do can now be done on most tablets and smartphones. However this Laptop's Dual Core Processor is really fast and I also Love that it came with Windows 7 instead of Vista. The face recognition feature is really quite cool. It is a LOCK feature so if your laptop were to be stolen for example, instead of them hacking past your password they cannot duplicate a picture of your face & NO a PICTURE of YOU WILL NOT work. It has to be the real deal. So unless they steal you along with your latop & you have some SECRET AGENT, 007 SH** on your laptop. Without your face they are S.O.L. & your laughing all the way to the bank. I also installed Microsoft Word and MacFee full service for 2 years all for under $200.00 at my local Office Depot during their Labor Day sale. It has some great upgrades like your read write DVD Burner, smart card reader, long battery life and LCD Backlit Trubrite screen. It has 4 ports, ethernet jack ofcourse and also bluetooth compatiable. I can go on and on about all the fantastic features this basic laptop has. However for being your basic laptop it sure has a lot of extra bells and whistles on it! I would highly recommend this for your first college student or highschool. Or just for photo storing, skyping, your basic surfing needs are met and thensome! Only CON I have found is definatly need a skin if fingerprints bother you, as much as they do me. Other than that this is truly a steal for the cost!!!

I bought this for school, thinking I would save a few dollars by getting a Toshiba. Toshibas are good, but their lower ends are absolutely terrible! In fact, they do not screw the screws in, they GLUE THEM IN! I have already lost 2 or 3 screws because they literally fall off! Computer is lightweight, thanks to its flimsy plastic case. Computer is laggish, and enjoys slow walks on the internet. Also, computer makes odd noises during operation. It sounds like a belt is running through it and it squeaks because of its cooling fan. Hard drive makes unhealthy noises. Only good thing is the keyboard. It was built better than the computer itself. Screen is ok, but I should have done more research before I bought this. Battery life is good though!

I bought this computer at a store and NOT through Amazon. I bought it because I needed to surf the internet and do some banking on it. I don't play games, watch videos or download stuff so I did not need anything fancy. The hard drive failed after 60 days. I took it back to the store where I bought it and they told me they could not exchange or fix it. I had to go through Toshiba for repairs. The employee at the store told me that Toshiba has had a lot of problems with their hard drives failing and he quietly told me the computer was junk. He apologized and told me he would have recommended another computer for roughly the same price if I had talked to him before buying this one. I contacted Toshiba and in order to get the computer repaired I had to pay for shipping ($25) to get it fixed. I would not recommend this product due to the fact you it will cost you to have it fixed if it fails under warranty. I have never had to pay to have anything fixed under warranty. I would give it zero stars if I could

I got this computer to replace a similar computer that crashed. It works even better than the previous one, and I am thrilled that I got such a great deal on a computer. It was on sale for significantly less than the retail price, which made it one of the least expensive computers on Amazon at the time, and close to half the price of my previous computer. Perfect for me! Just keep in mind that it only has microsoft word and excel for free the entire office suite does not come with this computer.

This was a total want. We were replacing a very old laptop and just wanted a replacement. I love the fact that it has Office Starter installed. I can quickly edit spreadsheets and create word documents without having to use the desktop. I am so happy with what I got for the price.

I was not familiar with the name Lenovo, but seeing all that I required of a computer and the price, I ordered it and am very pleased with how it operates. I made a simple transfer of my old computer data very smoothly. It performs all functions perfectly and has an eco monitor.

There isn't too much to gripe about this laptop. The only downside I can really think of is the screen touches the keyboard when its closed so when you open it there is small smudges. However, there are screen protectors out there or even little rubber dots that can make that stop when closing.

Its pretty much all out there. 16 gigs of ram, i7 quad core, and it came with windows 7. Now compared to my desktop Windows 7 is great for gaming, while running Windows 8 I've run across a few issues. Therefore, Windows 7 is ideal since this is a gaming PC and most products like steam tend to run a little better.

I bought the computer mainly so I could take some games with me on deployment and get some college out of the way. One thing I didn't expect but is a great little quirk is that you can customize the colors of nearly every light on the computer. It doesn't affect how it runs, but it is kind of cool.

Over all this PC runs like you'd think it runs and behaves as it should and I do recomend it if you can find one for cheap enough as I had. If you don't want to build a desktop or don't know how to(easy but time consuming) this would be a good purchase for the next few years if you want to play higher end games on a computer.

The perfect combination between processor and graphic card. Ideal for games.

The computer is super fast and runs in high quality all the games I've played until now.
