I have an earlier version of the 15z with an i5 processor and I've never regretted getting it, so when my wife wanted one for her business use, I chose another 15z of course. She absolutely loves!

Have the computer for over a month now. No problems. Fast shipping, in just 1 day arrival. Came in original box with all software disk included. Harddrive was wiped and fresh windows 7 installed, without all the annoying extra software you get from a original Dell. One improvement, wound to include instructions on how to install all the

factory software and how to register the warrant. But since my previous laptop was a dell I already knew how to do this. For example, the laptop did not come with the web cam software installed. I had to go to the Dell driver/software page to install. Like I said no big deal, but someone unfamiliar may have a problem. Recommend this seller to other buyers. Would buy from them again.

ordered as new, loads of confusion on amazon's part prior to christmas, received laptop on christmas eve, problems after 3rd day, when contacting dell, told that warranty was expired because laptop was registered the year before to someone in California, I am in VA. very disappointed. Amazon refunded immmediately upon receipt of return but was lax in helping to find a suitable replacement.

Well it is an entry level workstation, but has a professional graphic card not the gaming one. Basically the different are the drivers. I think 15" widescreen is the good balance between portability and getting some work done on a good size screen. The version I ordered from Lenovo is almost max out with the newer technology. I use N draft at home with 5 GHz frequency. When I go to a coffee shop I have no problem connecting to G and B routers. There is also a wimax which is the next big thing that I don't use or have service. There is a little keyboard light which is cool, but I don't use either; gaming laptop have glowing keyboard.

Features:

I can't live without the rubber head mouse; I went one generation last time with a Sony Vaio SZ and had to go back. Mainly Lenovo ThinkPad and Dell Latitude laptops still carry this feature. I got to say I like the design of this laptop better than any of the new curvy edge shiny one you can find at electronic stores. Maybe the new Latitudes look very cool and modern too. Displayport (can use hdmi converter) is a great plus while the PC input is still there. I go the turbo memory and I didn't think its made a differences to the boot up speed or software performance. There aren't really any bloat-ware, but some Lenovo system softwares are hogging too much resources. Loading was a fast as my old Sony Vaio SZ, which is much slower than regular computer, which I wanted the turbo memory would fix, but didn't. I use my finger print scanner to save passwords and that is a feature I have grown to like more and more everyday. I connected my bluetooth keyboard to this once.

Built quality is good,

The speakers went out after a week, but I sent it in and Lenovo fixed it. Also on the way back the hard drive got damage and they sent me a new hard drive and disc so I install the OS. Overall it is solidly built; layout is very good, only flimsy part is the area over the PC express card. No dead pixels or weird screen things.

Performance:

I have Photoshop CS2, sometime do Sketchup and Google earth. There is only a very small difference between my laptop and PC with this software; only on bigger files. I hardly ever lose any connections with my D-link N draft router and this laptop. N draft is better than G, I did lose connection when I had an old g router. I stream Netflix and Hulu and it is almost as good as the hardwire connection of my PC. Beside the boot-up is a little slow, I can say this is powerful enough to replace my PC on most tasks. I thought battery these days will last longer, but they really don't, even if the wifi off. I did a movie test on full charge. Sadly this laptop battery didn't last as long as my 2002 Dell Inspirion 8200 for the movie "Star War" but not by much. I did turn the wifi off. The Vaio performed about the same as this Thinkpad.

Service

I got to say Lenovo is a lot better than Dell. I never had to use Sony. They got my laptop fixed after I sent it in and tracking and call them was very easy. They want to please me, where Dell thought I was stupid (back in 2002). They had diagnostic they told me to do and immediately knew what the problem was hardware or software. They sent me 3 different installation discs. I guess I didn't make myself clear; I got Vista Professional 64bit. They assume things are 32 bit and Vista home if you don't tell them, which I guess I didn't.

I will buy from Lenovo again, and told my brother the same. Quality and service is top notch. Only the speakers went out for some reason.

Don't waist your time. I go to a technology heavy university filled with nerds. Out of over a thousand students with the same school issued laptop not one student has anything good to say about lenevo thinkpads. My class got the w500 and it sucks. The fan has had to be replaced twice now, and the computer still over heats. If you like running creative programs then don't even bother. They randomly turn off, freeze and blue screen like crazy. My school has named them "crap pads" for a reason. I would give it a zero but sadly one star is as low as they go.

Reviews of Toshiba Portege Z835-P370 13.3-Inch Ultrabook (Silver)

Toshiba Portege Z835-P370 13.3-Inch Ultrabook
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

The Toshiba Portege Z835-P370 is Toshiba's latest entry in a very competitive ultrabook market. Toshiba's aim here was to produce the lightest ultraportable laptop while maintaining some functionality and they've done a very nice job. The laptop weighs in at a hair over 2.5 pounds (which is about 3 slim magazines). This is a welcomed replacement to my eight pound 10 year old Apple Powerbook.

Structurally, the laptop is sound. You can pick up the laptop by one corner and the chassis will not flex nor bend. This is surprising considering how thin the laptop is. Conversely, the screen is very flexible and bends easily. I've read reports that the screen wobbles when you are typing with the laptop on your lap but I haven't experienced that at all. While the hinges are stiff enough, you wouldn't want to open the laptop screen with the corner of the screen. You would hold the screen from the center to open it.

The SSD is zippy and loading takes only 4-5 seconds from cold start and almost instantaneous from sleep mode. The i5 processor is very capable of handling the demands of most business users and casual gamers. The laptop never hiccuped when running Microsoft Office products with multiple documents or spread sheets open. While the laptop is not intended for gaming, I was able to play Star Craft 2 on the lowest settings without any lag at all. However, turning up the graphics settings slowed the game down quite a bit.

The only complaints I have so far:

spacing of the keyboard keys. The keys are spaced out in such a way that I tend to miss keys sometimes. It may be a good idea to go to a retail store and play with the keyboard for a bit to see if you like it.

built in webcam picture quality is slightly grainy not what I expected out of a laptop this expensive

fan noise in a quiet room, there is an audible hum coming from underneath the laptop, do anything processor/graphics intensive and the fan kicks into overdrive and can be annoying

Despite some shortcomings, my initial impressions have been very good thus far. This was my first laptop purchase online and I was a little hesitant that I wouldn't be happy but I have been nothing but pleased so far in the week that I've owned it. I'll be back in a few weeks to update my review after I've had a chance top play with it some more, but so far, I'd have to give it two thumbs up.

I'm giving this a Fiver. What a great little machine. At 2.5 pounds it's like the Jenny Craig of laptops. I did my due diligence research before I purchased and the Toshiba Ultras were rated highly on many different sites. Also I happen to work in the same lab as the Emerging Technologies group for my company and they had ordered 5 evaluation units from 5 different mfgs so I was able to compare them all straight up before purchasing. The Toshiba was definitely the winner and the Samsung Series 9 was very good also. The ACER, ASUS and HP were definitely trailing with the HP coming in last (sorry HP guys). The processor and ram specs were all very similar so I based a lot of my opinion on asthectics, keyboard layout, design and weight. I'm not going to go into so called "cons" like the size of the hard drive or lack of CD-ROM since the buyer knows these things up front anyway and if that won't work for you then look at another machine. A con to me is more like claimed performance not living up to expectations or a hardware component that is flakey. As far as the "heavy lifting" goes, you can do all the heavy lifting you want with the I5 processor as long as it's within the contraints of the capacity of the hard drive. I love the instant on feature and it truly does work as advertised. Along with Amazons usual kick butt fast shipping I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Best Deals for Toshiba Portege Z835-P370 13.3-Inch Ultrabook (Silver)

After reviewing the Macbook Air 13, the Zenbook UX31 and the Toshiba Z835, I selected the Toshiba. In my opinion an ultra-book should include as many features of a standard size notebook as possible into the lightest, most compact form factor possible. The Z835 wins on the most ports and expansion options. The Z835 wins on being the lightest weight. The Z835 wins with having the most reasonable price. The MSRP is $1049.99, however OfficeMax had a sales promotion and the device was $949.00. On top of that, the Z835 also had all of the features I wanted including the i5 quad core processor, 6 gigabytes of ram, Bluetooth and HDMI out. I also like the sleep and charge USB port which allows me to charge my Clear hotspot, a huge plus because I don't have yet another ac adaptor to carry around. The subdued styling works for me being as I'm not crazy about shiny / polished gadgets. The keyboard is great with the key spacing and key travel just fine for me being as I'm a touch typist. The keyboard backlighting also works well for me. The multi touch touchpad is one of the best I've ever used. The response is extremely fluid and smooth. I've stopped using my arc touch mouse, it's that good. For such a small device, the sound system puts out high quality sound. Between the speakers and the audio enhancement software, the sound is excellent. The sound is also great on Bluetooth when I stream to my Plantronics BackBeat earphones. I normally stream music from jazzradio.com, digitally imported or audio galaxy so I've always got access to great tunes. When out taking pictures, I either use the included sd card slot or use my Eye-Fi 4 gig wi-fi card to transfer photos. Everything has worked without a hitch. With the i5 processor, 6 gigs of ram and the SSD, the Z835 is extremely fast and has handled everything I've given it with absolutely no performance issues. Being as I have not been on battery power that often, I can't accurately discuss battery life. However all of the reviews I read give it very high marks for battery life. About the only complaint I have is the small SSD. I hope when larger SSD's come available I can swap them out on my own. For now I carry my 1TB WD USB 3.0 drive, which contains all of my music, pictures, data and movies. For my school and personal files I use on a daily basis, I sync with my cloud based DropBox account. The Z835, along with my Apollo 4G hot spot have become my complete mobile solution, it is that versatile. No more tablet or smart phone and the associated data access plans that come with them. In my opinion the Z835-370 represents the best overall value of all of the ultra-books currently available. The Z835-370 comes highly recommended.

Honest reviews on Toshiba Portege Z835-P370 13.3-Inch Ultrabook (Silver)

I debated buying a Thrive or this and chose the laptop.

What's great:

+ Weighs very little and I can easily stow it in my leather padfolio case with expandable file.

I have gotten positive feedback on both. Be careful of making your executive team jealous!

Many a project manager and business analyst just want a lightweight PC for taking notes, recording a meeting,

processing email or surfing the web. Ideal match.

+ Thin! My LG phone is thicker than this notebook.

+ The Solid State Drive (SSD) is sweet. Instant on. No long boot times. Spoil me baby!

+ Includes 1 USB3.0 port and 2 USB2.0 ports, one of which is on the side, the rest on the back.

+ The Ethernet off the back is wonderful, being out of the way, though I had to get used to it being mounted upside down.

+ Anecdotal battery review: I unplugged at 10am this morning to use it in meetings all day and a working lunch and near 5pm

it was low and finally hibernated. 7 hours work without complaint? OK for my purposes.

What's not:

At 128GB, you start the Windows experience half-full. I upgraded from the Home version of Win 7 to Professional.

Now, I have 67 GB free. The formatted 128 GB is actually only 102 GB capacity, 67 GB now free.

Why oh why won't Toshiba make this product with 256 GB drives?

So, how do you get a little more space to buzz around with this tiny dancer laptop?

Well, while I bought a SanDisk Extreme Pro (45 mb/sec) SDHC card, I was wondering how it would play with the Portege.

Answer: Toshiba has a crappy 15 SDHC unit built in and all I could get out of it was 15 mb/sec.

Nevertheless, I am planning to pickup a slow (15 mb/sec) 64 GB SDXC card and check that for compatability.

Watch out for cooling. My first unit arrived and booted with an OS complaint the cooling system was not working. Exchanged!

The new unit arrived working fine, but I quickly learned the laptop is silent only when doing little or nothing.

If you dare to install something that requires CPU power, like a game, you will hear the fan ROAR as it tries to keep up

with the heat generation of the CPU. I dumped the games I installed immediately. Back to work I guess.

The screen is 1366x768, which is OK, but not great. This low res vertical is still one of the day-to-day

most annoying feature of laptops, when we live on the web and screen real-estate is king. 1024 would have made this an

awesome design, but it is only OK.

Last caution is that the thin screen is a handling risk. If it seems fragile (and it does) then it probably is fragile.

Get insurance.

Personally, I would have rounded the corners if I were on the engineering team, but the squareness fits in with the Microsoft

world. Haha, sorry MSFT.

So, am I happy with it? You bet I am!

I had the computer for one month and the screen malfunctioned. I sent it to Toshiba for them to repair it under warranty. Then about two to three weeks later I receive it back, with a copy of the warranty and a note saying the repairs are not covered but without stating the reason. What they did with it for three weeks is anyone's guess as I heard nothing from the company. After more hours on the phone with the company, it appears that any issues with the screen are assumed to be the customer's fault and Toshiba calls you a liar if you try to convince them otherwise. For comparison, I had an Asus whose screen malfunctioned after 11 months and they replaced it no questions asked. The computer itself is a fine machine but if you happen to get a lemon, you will get no love from Toshiba. So thanks to their policies, I will not look to purchase any Toshiba products in the future.

Update: After receiving it back from their repair facility, the computer would not charge or turn on when plugged in. Weeks more with the Toshiba repair facility await. What a horrible product

Just received this one and I'm using it to leave this message. It was easy to setup and configure and I must say this Dell Inspiron i7-2670qm 15R is an outstanding notebook for the price. This machine has excellent performance. It's fast with a great display and keyboard w/number pad and includes features like HDMI, two USB 3.0, and eSATA connectors. The i7 quad processor ranks about 89 on the highend cpu benchmark scale making this a great value since notebooks like this one can sale for upwards of $1,000. If you are looking for a good laptop for under $600, this one's outstanding.

I recently purschased this laptop with the $590 deal and for that price I can tell you it was a great buy. I like to take my time when buying computer components because since I live in México is not as ez as many of you to return an item if it comes dented, scratched or fails on the first days after purschase because at that time I'd probably back from the US (Amazon is the best thing ever I think)...so I was looking for a laptop that fulfills my high requirements since I am a programmer and a gamer to get the best performance for the best price, in this case it will be mainly for programming over gaming, so my first priority was processor because that is something you'll live with the rest of your laptop's life, then the RAM Memory which can be upgradable at anytime, graphics (HDMI port), screen size and the last thing I care about is hdd capacity (just use an external hdd for data).

This laptop comes with i7 which means that you are getting 4 cores in contrast to the i5 that are 2 cores and that represents great performance in multitasking and hard processing in long runs even when you get faster frequencies with 2 cores, I recommend you to go to the cpubenchamarks page which can help you to have an overview and ranking performance of the cpu model you are looking for, when buying a laptop be careful of those advertisements deals of some AMD processors that are 3-4 cores that don't perform as Intels i3-i5 because sometimes the Intel performs better even with 2 cores.

Now, RAM memory is upgradable to 8 GB and for starting with 6GB is good and you save a bit here to later buy 2x4GB sticks same brand because when I opened it I noticed it came with 2 different brands.

So far the other features were good for me except for the hard drive, it is 500GB 5400rpm which is a speedbump for the processor, so without awaiting to see how the HDD would perform and before I got the laptop I ordered a 128GB SSD (Samsung 830 series because of its reliability and rankings) and I know the big difference it would make. The performance before the SSD was really noticeable as expected after I installed it, the SSD was 2.5x faster that the HDD and now it easily boots in 13 16 seconds average, consider here that I installed a fresh instance of Windows 7 x64 Ultimate so no preinstalled Dell software that could slow down my boot time. The really bad news here are that if you want to upgrade the HDD for a SSD you'll need to literally dismantle your laptop in order to do that (I was not aware of that until the moment) so I took the risk in its brand new state and it wasn't so hard for me since I am an Engineer in Computer Systems but anyone can do it because it's pretty straightforward, all is just remove screws (during the procedure I highly recommend using antistatic wrist strap). Thanks to some tutorials I found in youtube I was able to do it with no problems but I sweated during the process (j/k) hoping I wouldn't break anything (plastics). At the end I did the system rating test and the graphics were the low ranked that determined the rating which I don't care much since I can run HD Videos, I think it has the Intel HD Graphics 3000 which is the most common, anyways If I want to play video games I just have to seat on my desktop with EVGA GTX 560 TI FTW. Hope you find this useful.

Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

First off, I just want to say that unless you actually OWN a product, you should not rate it. Period. The purpose of a review is to critique the item itself not the accuracy of Amazon's product listing. The previous 1-star reviewer obviously does not understand this, so please IGNORE their rating, because this laptop really is a gemstone (pun intended).

I'll start with the downsides of the laptop. For one thing, I wish it had Firewire. That is the one key port that I really miss on this machine. eSATA would be nice, too, but for the price, I can live without it. Also, the battery life could be better. I haven't used the machine enough to give you a precise figure, but I'd say the battery lasts between 2 and 3.5 hrs depending on what I'm doing. Not terrible, but not great either Dell's competing i3 model has almost double the wHr capacity. Cosmetically, the laptop is a little dated looking. It is made of fingerprint-attracting glossy plastic, and the lid has rounded edges, which are not exactly in style. Then again, I personally care more about the laptop's functionality and build quality than its aesthetics. Here's where the good stuff comes into play: there is a little bit of flex here and there, but on the whole, the machine feels pretty solid. I'm not terrified of breaking it by setting down on the table to quickly. What I really like about the laptop is its abundance of features and LOW price tag. The Core i3 CPU is pretty darn fast for most applications, and the 4GB of memory (which is DDR3, by the way) is plenty for me. It's nice to have bluetooth built in, and I'm glad they didn't skimp on the USB ports, either. The keyboard and mouse are both pretty decent. The integrated Intel graphics (which are actually built onto the i3 CPU die) are definitely NOT for intense gaming (sorry buddy, no Crysis), but they actually are fine for casual games and some older shooters. The GMA HD on the i3 proc is quite a bit faster than the last-gen 4500MHD, and it is roughly the same performance-wise as an nVidia 9300m GS. It runs FEAR smoothly on low settings, Half-Life 2 on max, and handles WOW just fine on medium. Obviously, simple games like Bejeweled and Zuma run perfectly, too.

So far, I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a laptop this good for this price. I bought mine for $550, and I couldn't be happier. Then again, I haven't owned the laptop for very long, so I may still discover some major flaw. If so, I'll update my review. Otherwise, I highly recommend this laptop to everybody!

I bought this laptop when it was on sale at office max recently for $480.00 plus tax. IT IS FANTASTIC!! the i3 processor is lightning fast, the LCD screen is excellent for streaming videos. beautiful picture. this laptop is built solid (it is heavy) which is ok for me since I never take it out of the house anyway. the shiny finish on the shell does show fingerprints, but really thats all I can say negative about this great machine!! I am not a gamer, I am a basic applications user (videos, emails etc etc) so this laptop more that fits the bill for my needs.the keyboard works great, the touchpad works like a charm. LOVE IT..!!! also...FYI..the store offered me the extended warranty.. 2 years for $200.00 extra!!! forget that...I bought an extended warranty right here at amazon (squaretrade warranties).. 3 years..includes accidents/spills/dropping..for $82.00!! another great deal from amazon..:)

Best Deals for Acer AS5740-5513 15.6-Inch Laptop (Blue)

Okay, when I saw this laptop in an ad, I instantly fell in love with its performance vs price. It has the newest line of Intel CPU (the i3) and 4 GB of DDR3 RAM. This thing screams for the $500 I paid for it.

Win 7 gives the CPU a 6.2, which is by far the best laptop CPU I have owned. The graphics rating is 4.6 (Aero) and 5.3 (Gaming). Again, I have never had a laptop close to that. As stated before, it still won't run Crysis very well, if at all, but your mainstream casual games, it will play with ease.

Pros: i3, 4 GB DDR3, it connects to my wireless at 300 mpbs!!!! My new, as in got in in December, Acer Netbook, which claims to have N only connects at 54 mpbs, so when I saw that this one hit 300 mpbs, I about threw a party. It has HDMI out, VGA out, and 4 USB ports. Most 15.6" laptops only have 3 USB ports.

Cons: No Bluetooth, firewire, e-sata, and a 5400 RPM HDD. For me, it doesn't really matter. I have never had bluetooth, and never used firewire or e-sata, so it isn't like I will miss it. While I make the 5400 RPM HDD a con, for the average user, you won't even notice a difference. I have had laptops with both 5400 RPM and 7200 RPM HDDs and for everyday computing, which this thing is designed for, you will not notice a difference.

It has Intel Graphics, but they are considerably better than previous Intel graphics (again 4.6 and 5.3 experience ratings). The 1366x768 resolution is low since I went from a desktop to this, but I will manage.

All in all, if you can get this laptop for $500 plus tax, BUY IT! No other $500 laptop will touch it. I am very pleased with my purchase.

I'm a very experienced computer user; more than a so called "power user". The first thing I always do immediately after purchasing a new system is format, delete partitions, create new partition and install a fresh copy of my OS of choice. I like Win 7 64 bit, which this laptop comes loaded with, BUT THERE ARE NO DISCS INCLUDED!! Major mistake on ACER's part. The laptop is full of bloatware/nagware/etc. I know computer mfrs make money from software companies by installing this crap, but I hate it. I sent ACER an email concerning this, but not a response at all. I've heard bad things about ACER's lack of customer support and I'm beginning to believe it.

I did however get a good deal on this machine. $497.00 out the door sales tax and all. It's for my Daughter's graduation/birthday/beginning college. It's fast, 4gigs (New Intel i3/4 gigs 1066Mhz DDR3/1066 Front Side Bus/320 HDD/LED/etc. (see tech specs). I like the rounded blue case. Nice feeling keys/touch pad as well.

Not full (1080P) HD, however downloaded HD vids and DVDs look pretty good. This Aspire is not able to play today's top 3D games with full blown eye candy (but my Daughter is going into Pre-Law and not computer graphics :)

If bloatware and being unable to reload OS (with an included disc there are other ways however) is of importance to you, please be forwarned.

I use a DELL Latitude at work and I have a DELL Inspiton 17R for my home computer.

They both have a problem with the touch pad. It will enter keystrokes, mouse moves and mouse clicks by itself. It seems to favor selecting large amounts of text and then deleting it. That is very, very annoying if you're writing in an application that doesn't have an "undo" function.

I got the DELL service group to fix my work computer the replaced a daughter board for the touch-pad. That eliminated MOST of the problems. I'm not so lucky with my home computer. Be sure to save all the paperwork you get with your DELL computer or DELL won't help you. I mean, it's obviously one of their computers.

Other than the fact that it goes wacky, I like the large hard drive and the big screen.

I was looking for a laptop computer preferably with windows 7 operating system.the price was reasonable the packaging was adequate, the shipping was a little slow do to the storm flooding in New Jersey. This is my first Dell computer. all previous were HP computers.my last was windows x-p operating system.i like the operating speed and the large hard drive storage, but the down side of this item is all the junk programs that Microsoft put on the desktop for an additional fee.not many freebee such as office software, antivirus.they are pushing cloud in the sky storage ,reg edit, file optimizer, advance protector, online backup, online vault backup that keep popping up on the screen. very annoying.

2 year old laptop HP DV7T-4100 with Samsung HM640JJ HDD. Right outside the 2 year warranty you start getting warnings of imminent HDD failure. Well you can't backup, you can't do anything as the backups all fail. You can't boot from disk (yes bios updated to boot from CD and yes the CD worked on other laptops). HP offers to charge you more to replace the HDD than you can purchase it online and HP gives you a 90 day warranty while Seagate has a 3 year warranty. Oh there is a reason Samsung sold this business off to Seagate.... it's a known early failure.

Worst hard drive error. DO NOT BUY!!! If you still think it's worth it, check HP's own website for all the issues with the DV7 and DV6's and early HDD errors. Consumer support was awful.

I am sending this piece in for the third time for the same issue. HP support is the worst support I have ever dealt with. The computer randomly reboots. HP doesn't even try to reproduce the problem. Steps to reproduce: 1) turn computer on. 2) Wait. If you can follow those steps, you are already more capable than their techs.

Sent it in the first time and they wiped the hdd and sent it back. They did not take any time to even try to reproduce the error. In fact, looking at the event log, it unexpectedly rebooted twice while HP had it, after the hdd was re-imaged. Makes me think they had reproduced it, but didn't care.

Sent it in the second time. Looking at the event log after I received it back, they only had it running for 2.5 days. (This time I did not it was powered on, then osee that it had unexpectedly rebooted on them) On Feb 25,n Feb 26th the date was changed to Feb 28, then on Mar 1 it was powered down. I assume the date change is due to having the CMOS battery out of the computer for 2 days? Why would they need to do this to reproduce a reboot issue? I explicitly asked that they not send it back until it was reproduced and fixed. It seems like they have a list of things they check, anen,d if those items are not brok they assume the computer works. I also asked that they call me so I can help them through reproducing it. No call.

After receiving it back, I turned it on, opened up a browser, then let it sit. It rebooted on its own just over a day later.

Run away from HP. Just run away.

This computer has great hardware, an awesome screen, top notch graphics and an amazing sound system. It's fast and sleek, relatively light and very easy to use and customize. The only downside is battery time. Fully charged, it only seems to last for about an hour and a half. Other then that, it's a great product.

We needed an extra machine in the house and after looking at a number of reviews on Amazon, this looked like it would fit the bill. Came quickly and well wrapped. I was pleased when I first booted it up that there was very little installed crapware to remove -I removed the Lenovo-provided trial virus ware and we were good to go. From unwrapping to being on the internet was under 5 minutes. Easy wireless, great keyboard, and a crisp screen (nice size and HD quality) make this a perfect working laptop. And the price is awesome.

I just went back to college and needed a laptop. I had been through several toshiba, dell, and compaq laptops over the years and this one is so much better than anything I've ever used.

This is an excellent laptop computer. It beats my old HP Pavilion notebook hands-down! It never gets remotely hot and is incredibly fast. It boots in less than 30 seconds! Pair this with the great price and I'm as happy as a clam.

Honest reviews on Lenovo G570 4334ECU 15.6-Inch Laptop (Black)

Since I dislike win 8 intensely, and my friend did also and she wanted me to find her a win 7 machine and this one was one of the few available at a decent price so I purchased it. She was very happy to have a new computer that worked exceedingly well for what she wanted to use it for. The machine is solid, The packing was excellent, the performance was above reproach for the price. I would purchase more of them if I could find a win 7 machine. I have since bought another Lenovo with win 8 and am going to backdate it to win 7, for another friend. I find that the Lenovo machines are very good. I wish the companies would give us a choice which op system to purchase rather than force win 8 down our throats. Please please listen to us Lenovo and other computer companies.

I cannot leave a five star, but for < $500 it was my preferred choice. This computer will sell between $450 and $650(do some online research). My main choices of CPU were I5, A6 in that order. Compared the Toshiba side by side for mechanical features at an electronics store. Initial dislike of Toshiba was the touch mouse pad. It has become more smooth with additional usage. While lowering or closing the top of the laptops, Asus and Gateway went into hibernate mode before the screen was halfway closed. The Toshiba would go into hibernate mode when lowered 90% of the way(the wife likes you to show some respect by closing the laptop). The keyboard touch is excellent, smooth, and quiet. The screen is great with color and clarity. The video itself is good for 4Gb Ram, but high end gamers will not agree with the graphics(they usually do custom computers). I can spend $20 to expand it to 6GB(search the internet and you will find a good deal on memory). My main concern so far is the disk drive. There is a sensor and timer in the electronics that performs a check exactly every 10 minutes(it is a medium click sound, and lasts 2 seconds). This noise does not occur when playing a DVD movie, and movie glitches did not occur). I still need to try the HDMI port to check a feature larger screen(another feature I liked when looking, and I saw the feature on another PC in the store). The graphite color and surface does not show smudges or fingerprints. The mouse buttons are loud, and may not be good while your wife is sleeping(but wait). There is a button in the center just below the space bar, that will allow you to disable the touch pad features so that you can use a mouse (your choice). Three USB ports with average distances apart. The audio and mic jacks are on the side of the laptop. And the final feature is the AC plug. It looks like Toshiba is trying to address the problems consumers have had in the past(including me). But, considering the past problems of the AC/Jack, and the noise of the DVD drive, I still want to keep this computer.

It came on time, and works OK.

Toshiba Satellites seem to have a much better long-term track record than many of the other laptops, so I went with this. For the small difference in price, it was well worth going with the i5 processor (over the i3). Not so sure it would have been worth going to an i7. Maybe a little bulky to carry around all day, but it's worth it for the pluses of the 15"+ screen and full size keyboard.

Has everything you NEED, and a few things that you probably WANT. Not a dream machine, but definitely a workhorse.

Good value.

La mejor latop que tuve hasta el momento !!!!!!! Si estan buscando la famosa ecuación precio producto no dejen de comprarla.

Honest reviews on Toshiba Satellite L755-S5308 15.6" Laptop

I purchased this laptop at Best buy. Exactly 13 months after purchase, its parts started failing one after the other. I have already replaced the display panel, had to find alternatives for a defunct audio out jack, unreliable DVD drive and am facing overheating problems. It seems to be an inexpensive product but the cost of getting it repaired after a year or so is a real nightmare. Warranty extension is a must. Thats the only way to shield yourself from problems you will face after one year or so after purchase... due to its poor build quality. Buying this was a big mistake. Will stay away from Toshiba products in the future.
