I purchase a lot of laptops for my friends, colleagues, relatives and etc. But This one is much more better and cheaper than other comparable laptops. Bluetooth, webcam, card reader, dedicated num pad, metal cover, color and etc what I liked on that.

Great deal, recommend everyone, of course if the price is as low as when I bought it:-)))

This computer is beautiful looking and extremely fast....

The machines metallic surface is very pleasant to the touch and to the eye. As soon as I took it out of the box I as impressed with it. The dark brown color is truly handsome.

Without being extremely hefty, the machine sports a beautiful large screen and soft full keyboard.

This design and size and speed is without my favorite among hundreds of laptops I have used before.

It has a lighning Fast i3 processor.

And 2GB have proved enough for speed at least for me.

A definite winner....

very nice laptop comes as described, very light too its size is kinda big but its not very heavy at all, appearance is amazing too, very professional for school or work, the camera is awesome very clear on Skype. One bad thing is if you want to upgrade the ram there is no specific spot for it( the whole computer needs to be opened from the bottom which I think pretty much kills your warranty)!, one thing to note the computer at first froze a couple of times I thought there is a problem but don't worry though its a Microsoft windows 7 issue after several updates it works fine.

IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS LAPTOP BEST FEATURES AT THE LOWEST PRICE HP IS THE BEST!

Alright, I wanted to wait a while before writing this review because most people review products pretty quickly after purchasing. This really leaves out a lot of important info considering the first month of ownership usually leaves out a lot of experience with any product. I bought this laptop January 8th 2011 for $750. It is now January 28th 2013. I think two years is enough time to get a good feel for a laptop!

So here's what I've found:

Once you eliminate the unnecessary processes that WINDOWS 7 runs, this computer is quick and can perform many things at the same time. Right now, I'm running Google Chrome, 2 windows open, with 9 tabs between them. I'm also running Vaio care (a very nice program that cleans up everything like defragging) as well as TrendMicro (my antivirus). I frequently use photoshop CS6 and chrome simultaneously without issues. ***I've given this laptop 4 stars out of 5 because Windows is a part of the computer and my issues are all with this operating system.***

It works well with my Bamboo Splash tablet, I absolutely love the HDMI output. I play movies all the time on my 42" 3D LCD TV directly from this laptop because it's so much quicker than my Blu-Ray player. Any issues with speed are directly related to the programs run. Just get rid of the stupid bloatware (Windows Media Player, internet explorer, basically any Windows stuff ) and get things like VLC Media Player, Google Chrome, etc. As long as you take care of this computer, it's well worth the money. Nothing is broken on it, USB ports all work, HDMI works, SD card slot works, all the keys are still functioning properly. The only wear you can really see is that the matte finish on the keyboard is slightly worn off on some keys (you can only see it when you're looking at it from a strange angle). It makes the keys look a *little* more glossy. The little bumps on the mouse pad area are also slightly worn off in the center, something I noticed about a week ago.

It's impossible to keep the outside clean of fingerprints, I've tried everything, but now I've just accepted it.

Overall, I'd recommend this computer for any daily user. I'm a college student and it serves every purpose I need for classes and for hobbies of mine. I've never had a computer that wasn't outdated within a year, considering I've had this one for 2 years and it's still working perfectly, I don't plan on getting a new one any time soon!

I bought this laptop in the end of 2010 as a christmas bonus for myself from BestBuy.

I was skeptical about it, because i was so used to my old laptop and i tried out any, many laptops but ended up returning them because i didnt like them and could get used to them. This laptop has a great performance rate. Only a fool would dislike this laptop. I loved the color as well. Its fast, no lags. I can actually play Fifa 12 on this without lags. FOR REAL! Just buy it, you wont regret it. I promise you that!

Honest reviews on Purple Sony 14" Vaio VPCEA36FM/V Intel Core i3 Laptop 4GB Notebook

I had gotten this laptop back in 2011 as a late b-day present, and I have to say compared to my old 2004 Sony laptop, it's a LOT better!

I only wished I bought it online and not from Best Buy, reason being they replace the hard drive on my laptop with a much cheaper, non Sony part. Long story short lost everything about a month ago.

Though I did notice it freezing and such, I blame Best Buy 100%.

Now the laptop runs well again, the only issues I have with it is the slower boot up when you turn it on, and the fan going off for a while, it's not that loud but it can get on your nerves.

Don't bother buying it from the store, because you might get ripped off the same way.

The Color is beautiful and rich, but enjoys keeping fingerprints everywhere.

I highly recommend this laptop for anyone out there! (Just stay away from Best Buy)

buying this laptop is become my 2011 biggest mistake. it totally not worth it, i really didn't wanna write a bad review but then again, i have to spare purple lovers the trouble. i totally fell in love with this laptop because of it color (purple), turns out that's all it has going. the laptop freezes up all the time, it takes so long to come on and then goes blank. i really regret buying this. and i misplaced the receipt so i cant take it back. would have given no star, if i could.

in brief..this is a great tablet computer...I owned an xga display model and didn't like the fact that I could 'see' pixels while using some applications..VERY annoying!!

I was fortunate enough to finally find an sxga+=1400x1050 model...AWESOME display!!

Just keep looking, you'll find one ;-) If art is not your forte..then the standard XGA display is just fine!!

at a first glance this lap top blew my mind with its sleek look, bold colors, smooth operation and break neck speed when running games, but upon further inspection, i realized that (in my opinion) windows 8 wasn't all it cracked up to be, and what was especially a bummer was the fact that it gives you hell to downgrade to a lower more familiar version. But all in all it is a steal of a buy. If i had a chance to buy it again, the only thing i would do differently is get it in windows 7 lol

I bought this for my 9 year old who wanted it to play games on the net. I wanted something small and cheap for him and the price was right. It looked nice enough, but it was tough just getting on the net, wouldn't stay connected and was so slow it wouldn't load any of the games, videos, etc he wanted to play. I couldn't even access facebook on it. I could google on it well, so if you just want to be able to seach for this, maybe it's useable, but I doubt it since once you try to click on the links, it will probably lock up from lack of speed and memory. I got frustrated and sent it back. I think it's time to retire this model!

I absolutely LOVE this laptop! I love the large screen and its crystal clear display. I love the keys and their spacing since I have big hands. The numeric key pad is a plus too. Intel Core i5 processor, check! ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6370 Graphics, check! Blu Ray player, check! Countless features to add simplicity and mobility to all my computing needs, check! This thing is fast! Set-up took all of 10 minutes and I was blazing through the Net in no time at all. This laptop has everything I want it to have with the small exception of built-in bluetooth. But that's minor since I can easily purchase a USB Bluetooth adapter for $20. I really thought there would be a noticeable difference in the speed and/or performance when compared to my desktop which has 8GB RAM. But, I have been pleasantly surprised and I may not even need to upgrade from the included 4GB. I also like that it has built in features to conserve battery life when not connected to the power cord. It automatically adjusts certain settings to optimize performance and then automatically readjusts when connected to the power cord. Overall this is a great laptop and I would definitely recommend it. This thing is so nice that I think I'll barely use my desktop now.

You will be VERY unhappy if you buy this machine. I see a few fake paid-for reviews here, but the fact is that the wireless performance is unacceptable. Lenovo tech support told me that the there is an antenna design flaw and there is NO TIME FRAME FOR FIXING THE PROBLEM. On it's website forum, Lenovo lied about fixing the problem on models manufactured after August 2012.

So this computer has all the specs you could need, SSD for Windows to run in, USB 3.0 for fast transfers, super light and thin. Only issue is that the trackpad seems very touchy, I wish there was a way to separate the buttons from the pad but so far I have not figured it out. Otherwise I would recommend this to others.

Apple MacBook 250GB HD Reviews

My Macbook shipped to my home much sooner than the earliest anticipated arrival date, so I was pumped from the start. When I removed the laptop from the packaging (which was very secure, by the way), I was very pleased with the like-new condition the computer was in. The battery life is excellent, and I rarely have to charge the computer even though I browse the web a lot. I am used to having a Toshiba laptop, so I'm still in the habit of dimming the screen brightness and turning off the wireless internet card to save battery power. I do that with this Macbook, and can stay productive for much longer.

The computer itself is very quiet, and only gets loud when the fan kicks in to cool down the hardware. This typically happens when I'm watching a video or playing a video game, but that's to be expected. The initial configuration process was very easy as well.

I definitely recommend buying from this vendor. I'm not sure if I was "one of the lucky ones" but hopefully if YOU buy from this vendor, your product will arrive very quickly too!

I am not a computer whiz like my kids are. But I do like a great tool when it comes to ease of use and versatility. That is what my MacBook gives me. It's easily portable, has a nice screen size, and the track pad is easy on the hands and wrists. My kids often show me more ways that my MacBook can be useful to me, such as: communication, artwork, research, and entertainment. The keyboard makes sense, and the settings are customizable for comfortable usage.

Now, I admit, to the computer techy, all this must sound like "well, duh!" But I'm over 50, I still know what a type-writer and an adding machine are. I didn't grow up with computers, so when I find something this useful I like to say so. Having worked on a couple other brands of computers, Apple compares well. Their products are designed with the user in mind technically advanced user or not.

Avoid VAIO Hardware WIFI Issue

I am sitting here looking at a the white version of this Sony VAIO, 14" (touch) i7-3537, 750 HD no SSD, 6 GB ram and it is fun as long as you don't need the WIFI to work. Sony VAIO across the spectrum are defective when it comes to WIFI. In particular they drop the WIFI signal and Sony's answer to this is "NO ETA" on the cure. Do yourself a favor a either Google this or go to the Sony User forums and you will see this is a major failing by Sony and they are not offering any kind of resolution other than "NO ETA".

My Sony VAIO is not even 2 months old and it has had multiple driver updates with no fix. In fact the last driver update appears to have disabled the computer from being able to alert you via the WIFI icon if the system has dropped connection. As of the last month it randomly disconnects and connect, making it useless unless it is physically wired via the Ethernet.

I venture Sony is trying to program around defective hardware in the form of the wireless card that appears to be in all levels of the new VAIO back into 2012.

Now if you don't care about wifi, this computer is pretty nice. 1600x900 works better than FULL HD or 1366x768 in my book. Bring magnifying glasses if you opt for full HD. USB placement isn't the best, but at least the VAIO has four where many have only two. It has an optical drive and Ethernet, so it will work wired up like a nice desktop and the HDMI out drives a nice signal on my 47" LG LCD (120hz) (using Cheetah brand HDMI cable acquired on Amazon.)

Sony Art Rage and other productivity apps are extra fun bonuses.

Real world battery life is about 4:20 for me which is as long as my longest flight.

The WIFI issue that remains unresolved is a VAIO-Killer when compounded by Sony's lackluster customer service. This is the second Sony I purchased this year. After a lot of research, this is one of the better fully capable laptops of the second generation of 2013 Win 8 touch screens IF YOU DON"T NEED WIFI.

I got the laptop for my daughter who just started at the University of Notre Dame. I have a limited budget but I did want to get her the best I could since she got a full-ride to ND. I knew the next gen ultrabook/laptops are coming out now, but I needed it a month ago. She wanted this one because it was white and had a touchscreen.

I picked it because it had a 3rd gen i5, 1600x900 res (FHD would be better), backlight keyboard, not an ultrabook (to many issues with wifi and keyboard/trackpad in many current models), 14" screen (wanted 13"-14:), weighs 4 lbs.

I created the backup on usb and replaced the hard drive with a new Intel 240GB SSD, I then restored the system and customized the software. It boots in 14.7 seconds with the SSD and is very responsive.

She used it at home for a couple of weeks to get used to it and loves it. I had to connect remotely after leaving the university using LogMeIn to get her properly setup on their secure network (IT department seemed like they never heard of windows 8) but since then she has had no issues.

BTW, Win 8 is pretty dam good, especially if you have a touchscreen. I don't and just use desktop mode and I have had it for a year and love it, my kid does too.

I also purchased a second, Sony battery for the laptop from another vendor so she could make it through the entire day.

NOTE: The first laptop of this model I received worked fine for a few days till I tried to create the restore image and it started to crash. I could have reloaded it myself but since it was so new I returned it for another, and I must say, AMAZON HANDLED THE RETURN SO WELL, I will not hesitate to make any size purchase with Amazon. I issued the RMA on Friday evening and by Monday we had a new laptop. This time I created the recovery media right away (after updating it) and had no problems at all.

THIS IS NOT THE VAIO FIT 14.

Perhaps due to some confusion on Amazon's end (or else deceptive practices) this product has been mislabeled as being the Vaio Fit 14-inch variant. This is actually the Vaio Fit E 14-inch variant. This E (basically for economy, or entry-level) means this is slightly fatter and made of matte plastic. This true Fit 14 laptop you'll find on Sony's website is a much more professional, thin aluminum-frame laptop. In truth, Sony should take some of the blame for naming two laptops made from totally different materials and components so similarly (Fit/Fit E) but I just wanted to warn anyone else before they purchase the incorrect laptop.

After using this laptop for 2 weeks, I am totaly satisfied with it. The new hp envy sb version has all aluminum chassis and feels vry solid. Windows boots up in 18 seconds. Running program as fast as average desktop. Here is some feedback:

The screen: some one may complain this laptop never comes with radiance display anymore. Actually, the bright view screen is great, and it's even brighter and has more vibrate color than my wife's macbook pro.

The touchpad: This sandy bridge refresh version has a nearly as good as macbook touchpad. Multigesture, two finger scroll and pinch zoom all work smoothly. Just remember don't update the synaptics drive. New driver doesn't support double-tab to turn off touchpad feature.

Battery life: If you set the brightness to 60%, and just normal use, the out of box battery lasts about 5 hours. If you turn off the bluetooth and wifi, battery should last even longer.

Finally the noise: Normal using won't produce much noise. You need to put your ear at the air vents to hear it. It does has some noise when playing games, but tolerable.

Purchased from amazon, and happy to deal with them.

The Envy 14 has a lot going for it. It's a great size, has a backlit keyboard that's a pleasure to type on, and is built very well. Further, HP has released a BIOS update to address the issue of 3D applications and games not working properly with AMD's automatic graphic switching. The solution essentially reverts back to manual switching where the user has control of which graphics processing unit (GPU) he or she wants to use. It can also be set up to run on the high-performance AMD Radeon dedicated GPU (dGPU) when the machine is plugged in and switch over to the power-saving Intel integrated GPU (iGPU) when running on battery. This is basically how graphic switching works on older Envy 14 notebooks (model number 14-1xxx).

Regrettably, I had to send this notebook back for a pair of deal-breaking issues. First and foremost, the trackpad (or clickpad as it's dubbed by HP and part supplier Synaptics), is awful. HP has tried to emulate the Apple MacBook Pro in this area, and having previously owned a MBP, the Envy fails miserably. After trying many different drivers and settings, I simply could not get the trackpad to perform and respond smoothly and predictably. The final annoyance is the orange light that activates whenever you disable the pad, either on its own or by plugging in a USB mouse.

The second major problem is the screen itself. The resolution of 1366x768 isn't a huge issue for me, but at one point, HP did offer the Envy 14 with a high-resolution (1600x900) "Radiance" display that was of excellent quality and color reproduction. The screen in the current model, though not the worst I've ever seen, is sub-standard for something that's marketed as a premium product. Even with a lot of tweaking, the colors are pretty dull. It's also more reflective than other glossy notebooks I've seen and used, which makes it extremely difficult, if not impossible, to use outside.

In the end, a couple missteps in overall execution make it a less-than-ideal choice for my use.

Best Deals for HP ENVY 14-2020NR 14.5-Inch Notebook (Silver)

I recently purchased 4 of these laptops for our business. We work with 3D CAD drawings. This laptop has no problem running the 3d CAD programs. The display brightness is bright for the user. The bottom of the laptop stays cool. I like the lights on the keyboard helps me see the keys in low lit areas. I also like the usb port on the power adapter because i can charge my ipad with it (ipad cord isn't long enough to make to the outlet). I haven't had much time to test the sound out.

Dislike:

One of the laptop's underscore key doesn't work you have to press it 10 times to get it to type once. Screen viewing angle not the greatest.

Overall I would recommend this laptop to anyone.

EDIT:

RUN SAVE YOURSELF. THE SCREEN ON ALL FOUR LAPTOPS WE BOUGHT GOT SCRATCHED BY THE LIP AROUND THE KEYBOARD. ONE LAPTOP THE SOUND CRAPPED OUT AND NOW SOUNDS LIKE DONALD PLEASENCE in the movie GROUND ZERO. THREE OF THE LAPTOPS HAVE A KEY THAT DOESN'T WORK UNLESS POUNDED ON. HP TOLD ME I COULD SEND THEM BACK AND HAVE THE SCREENS REPLACED,BUT IT WOULD TAKE ABOUT TWO WEEKS WELL I LIVE OUTSIDE THE US BESIDE I NEED MY LAPTOP EVERYDAY FOR WORK.

CONCLUSION: ITS NOT A KEEPER

EDIT 2:

Wireless networking passed away on one of the laptops...can't wait to see whats next

Honest reviews on HP ENVY 14-2020NR 14.5-Inch Notebook (Silver)

I bought this laptop for $799 end of Oct 2011 as a general purpose computer for work and home use. So far, i have been quite satisfied with it.

Pros

1. solid metalic construction

2. backlit key pads is a big plus.

3. solid performing switchable 1G graphic card.

4. i5 processor is more than adequate for general home and work computing.

5. no bloat ware to deal with

Cons

1. Screen is not the highest resolution

2. keypads are fine, but could use a little more tactile feedback.

3. the fan motor is quiet, but there is a constant noise. compared to HP's own D6V, this is loud.

4. Not the most attractive laptop.

5. laptop is a bit heavy

6. battery life is only acceptable

7. no finger print reader

8. ram is a bit low at 4G

Overall, it's not a perfect laptop for the money, but definitely a good total package. you will not be able to play the latest action video games, but for general home/work use, it provides more than adequate power. The fan noise can be a bit irritating, but i guess that comes with a performace chip in a small package.

If you can get this laptop on sale at a good price, then it is definitively a great buy.

I bought the Sony Vaio CR320E/W after weeks of research. It is light, fast, and stylish (and cheap?). I needed something portable for college so I went with the 14" and I love it. The screen is really bright and glossy. The laptop itself weighs nothing compared to my dad's 15" Dell laptop. The build quality is very sturdy and the gloss white finish doesn't show fingerprints as bad as one would think. It does not have a latch to keep it closed but rather it relies on the tension of the spring. The spring works fine and has never been an issue. The Core2Duo processor is great for all around use. It isn't the fastest dual-core out there, but it is more than enough to get the job done for the average consumer. The bluetooth worked great and instantly connected to my phone. The camera is one of the neatest features. Besides taking regular photos and videos, it also has mac-like effects that can distort the image in weird ways and do random flips and rotations of the image. Another mac-like thing was the keyboard. The keyboard has a slight gap in between each key and they are all rounded a little. The keys have the just right amount of "roughness" to make good contact with your fingers. The speakers on this laptop are not extraordinarily load but they are not weak by any means. I said it was cheap because the older version of this laptop (vgn-cr220e/w) which doesn't have bluetooth and a slower/smaller hard drive is actually more expensive on amazon.com than this one. I personally saved a little more money and picked this laptop up from Best Buy after instant rebate.

There were 3 cons that I found with this laptop. First of all, it comes loaded with Sony bloatware programs. I spent the first 2-3 hours with this laptop just uninstalling the software. All they do is slow down the computer and most of them are very repetitive when compared to Windows programs (Sony Home Video Creator v. Windows Movie Maker). The other issue with this laptop was the battery life. Even though it is advertised as 2-4.5 hours, I just wanted to bring that up because it typically gets around 3-4 hours, which is a little bit too short for me. The third issue was that it comes with a weak graphics card. It is fine for general use, but it probably would have a little difficulty keeping up with the newest games. All in all, this vaio is a great buy.

I can't tell you how happy I was about three weeks ago when I got this Gorgeous Pink Sony Vaio as a gift! Let's just put aside that my favorite color is PINK and this is just the most beautiful pearly pink color I have ever seen. It's like an accessory. Which is the main reason you buy a colored laptop isn't it?

This is a critical part of my work. I'm a paralegal and I needed somthing light but sturdy to take back and forth with me to work. I went with the 14.1" screen because it is big enough to see exactly what I need. Bright and colorful as well. I don't use the computer for much but work and documents, so I'm not sure how it stacks up with things like game play, etc. But I can tell you that it is quick (maybe not the fastest laptop ever) enough for the everyday consumer! This computer also comes in a variety of high gloss colors at great prices!

It took me all of two minutes to have the Vaio up and running wirelessly online! (and I'm definitely NOT a computer savvy person) But it's very easy to set-up. The instructions are clear and effortless! It's all that I need and more. It's quick, runs my necessary programs, music interface and Microsoft Office Professional without a problem. I've owned other Vaios and have loved them all as well. *This one is my very favorite hands down.

It has a lot of room on the hard drive, is super quick, gorgeous color and user friendly. I'm not the most computer literate person, but this comptuter makes it easy to understand.

It's compact and light. Perfect Keyboard, I absolutely love it! I also bought the Sony case for protection and it matches perfectly and keeps the computer padded, protected and easy to carry around!

There are a ton of programs preinstalled on it though. Some I found useful and some I don't need at all. The virus program is great, along with Microsoft Professional and a few others. Mostly I love that it has everything I need on it and more in one tiny, compact, sturdy, and gorgeous machine. What I see so far is wonderful and I know that I'll have many years to come with this notebook!

For me, I couldn't ask for more! You'll have to decide what you need it for, but if you're looking for a machine that does what most everyone needs it for in a compact, light, yet sturdy form, I can't see why you wouldn't love this user-friendly product. Sony is a name I've grown to know and love and would buy their products again and again!

Perfect for students in both high school and college and for adults that use it as a second computer or one to travel with. Not only does it download and play my music, but it also burns cd/dvds, which is a plus! I hope this has been of some help in your decision making, I know I don't know a whole lot about "tech talk", but I do use it every day and couldn't be without it!

ENJOY! I am! I've gotten a ton of compliments on this notebook! It's certianly a conversation piece! A Quality Computer At A Quantity Price! This is THE computer of my dreams!

Best Deals for Sony VAIO VGN-CR320E/R 14.1-inch Laptop (Intel Core 2 Duo T7250

My excitment of owning a vaio all went into the drain when I got first hand experience of its performance. In general its processing speed is worse than a pentium 3. And I dont have anything saved on my hard drive since I mostly use it for internet browsing. Everytime I switch on my computer I wonder what will go wrong in the processing today. e.g. internet browsers take ages to open, or if you type its takes ages for the text to appear. I have tried everything possible.

Sony is unwilling to admit that they have a defective model. I would not recommend anyone to buy this. HP, IBM or Dell will provide you with better processing speed. Otherwise you are buying a model claiming to be a core 2 duo and you are getting pentium 2 or 3 at best performance. So if this laptop cant take internet browsing... then if you do more stuff I am not sure how it will take.. it may just crash. So BEWARE!!

Honest reviews on Sony VAIO VGN-CR320E/R 14.1-inch Laptop (Intel Core 2 Duo T7250

After a few weeks of contemplation I settled on this as my first laptop for use when I start grad school in the fall. However, I've gotten much more than I expected. The graphics are AWESOME!! It's light and quiet, the keys aren't as hard to use as I'd expected after years of desktop use...I could go on and on : )

There are a few consthere's a few more programs loaded on it than I think I really need and like most VAIOs it gets a bit hot but generally I have no complaints!!

I would advise that if you want something like this to get the newer model which is only $100 morethe CR420...it's processor is 2.1 GHz and it comes with 3GB of RAM....commit to Sony and enjoy : )

I originally went to Sony web site for this laptop to be built but Amazon had the same laptop ready to go, and I ordered it at 2pm on a Wednesday and it arrived the next day. It is a fantastic laptop, clean looking, all the applications I need were included, including some great trial applications I will purchase, for the money the Viao is a great buy

I've had this computer for 4 years and the first 2 were good.

The batter life was never good on this laptop for me. Otherwise its a good computer.

Now its pretty slow and i barely get 1 hour on a fully charged laptop.

I came to Amazon looking for this notebook because it has been the very best computer I've ever had.

Hands down.

It is and has always been fairly quick with very minimal work on my part (I got rid of Norton's and installed McAfee.) I have never had a single issue with this laptop. As a matter of fact mine is now 4 years and 5 months old and is still running like a top. I wanted to get another one in case mine ever dies so I started looking to see if they are still made. My only complaint, as someone else noted on another site, is the have a cheapish CD drive door but mine still works and still works fine so I shouldn't complain about that even.

This laptop is quick, not prone to errors, smudge proof, great screen, and even more unbelievable, still on the original battery even after 4.5 years!!!

If I can't find this at the time mine dies I will stay with the Sony family of products for sure!

This is a good business laptop. I am a Field Engineer with a lot of stops throughout my day. A tablet just isn't enough. This laptop handles itself well with good battery life. It will burns dvd's in reasonable time. It is just the right size to carry everywhere you have to go. Fits well in a Timbuktu media commuter bag. Easy to carry, nice screen size. Solid performance from OS and hardware. Good features, and reliable performance. Thinkpad has a decent contender here

Using this laptop for basic uses, email, web browsing, itunes, etc. Got this to replace an 8 yr old Dell Inspiron that took a nose dive.

For my purposes, this laptop's performance is great. Everything seems to run smoothly and quickly. Still getting used to Windows 8 though. The screen display is pretty nice as well.

This laptop is also VERY lightweight and thin (when closed). This makes it feel a little on the cheap side, with plasticy surfaces and the keyboard strokes feel kinda light and the keyboard itself flexes (touchpad is nice though). Since I'll use this mainly as a desktop, my intention all along was to set this up with a nice monitor (25") and wireless keyboard and mouse, so these aren't a big deal to me.

One other thing: my laptop came with a single dead pixel in the very top left corner. I can't see it at all unless the screen is totally black, so I don't care enough to send it back (plus I'll be using solely the external monitor)

Overall I think this is a very nice laptop with solid features that should satisfy anyone with basic needs. The laptop looks sleek and modern, but the weight and mechanics of the keyboard downgrade it a little bit, making it feel a little on the cheap side. I was able to buy it directly from Amazon for $450, so for that price, can't complain at all. If you're considering paying retail ($700), you can probably find a more upscale laptop for that $$$.

I bought this product probably a month back and it's amazing. Everything is good in this product except the HP automatic alarms for updates or something. it annoys sometimes.. otherwise the product is good to be used and it's not too expensive to buy. Windows 8 works good on this product.

I would recommend this to my friends and family since its sleek n wide design is hard to be found in many other systems.

Cheers !!

If you're looking for something thin, lightweight with a big screen this is nice.

However, I'm giving it 3 stars because the build quality on the keyboard is very crappy. The keys feel very cheap and have to be pressed in the right area for the keypress to be registered. For example, if you press the right most side of the space bar down , it will not register the space.

It's also sad how HP comes bloated with un-necessary HP software.

I ended up returning mine and instead going with a Lenovo Z585. The keyboard and chassis build feels a lot more solid.

This machine is good for the price we bought several for my office. It can't handle that many programs at the same time (processor not that fast). Speakers are nice, and numeric keypad is very convenient.

I just bought a few units of the SleekBook and was immediately impressed by the design and lightweight of the laptops. The keyboard material and surface seem a bit cheap for this system. I was also a bit disappointed that it didnt come with a DVDRW insert. i guess i had overlooked that in the spec sheets. Overall i would give this product a 3.5 star. HP is doing a great job at providing options for the entry level Notebook kudos
